Proposed Law Prohibits Christians From Working For San Antonio City Government

If you want to know how the unleashed pansexual regime is going to both impoverish and marginalize Christians from the public square in the wake of the Supreme Court’s declaration of war on Christians, a proposed revision in San Antonio’s city code gives us a view of the plan.

If you are someone who believes that marriage is defined as a relationship between a man and a woman, or that the Bible is true, you cannot be a city employee. You cannot even have a contract with the city. If you are such a city employee now, and they find out, you can be fired.

Of course, the wording is barely flexible enough that the city government could wait, if they felt they needed to, to fire the chambered round at their target.

“[A]ttorneys for the pastors said the bill’s vague phrases are open to interpretation. Consider this wording on page 3: ‘You can forget that committee appointment if you’ve ever “demonstrated a bias, by word or deed against any person.”’ ‘How do you figure out what a bias is?’ asked Branson. Branson said any faith-based organization with a city contract would have to abide by the new rules … and any bias — real or imagined — could cost jobs and contracts. ‘This is open to interpretation to whoever is in control,’ Branson added.”

I’m predict that believing Romans 1.18-32 is a message from God counts as bias. It is just a matter of time, and not that much of it, if the law is changed.

I feel ambiguous about this since I assume that most city governments of any larger size are such sleazy pits of corruption that they really are simply another facet of organized crime in the United States. Perhaps Christians should see their imposed boycott as a blessing.

But, however inefficiently, city governments often do meet legitimate needs. And as places that siphon off income from all people whether or not they are Christians, it is a huge disadvantage to the exiled group to be prohibited from working for the people who have confiscated all that money. Specifically, this is a way to really hurt those Christians who aspire to enter or stay the middle class, who often depend on jobs in bureaucracies or owns small businesses.

Even if the law gets shot down, you can be sure that there will be many cities doing the same thing. States will try to mandate it for themselves and for their cities. And the Feds will use their own money power to do the same to the states. Again, the IRS won’t be too holy to collect money from people who subscribe to forbidden religious ideas, but the Feds will then use the funds to reward the people who pass their test.

Demographically, time is on the side of Christians and other groups who value children. But we need to resist all this proposed thoughtcrime law as much as we can to get to the tipping point.

What the heck i live in SA ugh that crooked piece of junk Castro would pull some crazy stunt like that since he's that muslim Obama's butt buddy. I can't believe the stuff happening in America nowadays i mean you can't even argue the things they propose because you never expecteded them to ACTUALLY consider it. Like how do you explain common sense to people! I wish we had Ted Cruz or Rick Perry for President, then them Liberals would be WHIPPED. But instead they put Obama an in SA we have Castro whose as dirty as they come and no they are trying this Turn Texas Democrat by 2020. I'd die before i see America and especially Texas become liberal. I ain't even 20 yet and they lost a whole lifetime of my votes votes and trust me i will vote, an it ain't gonna be for the suppose rising star Castro or that nut Wendy Davis. It's gonna be for men like ya'll who will take a stand and never turn back.

    • Paul Smith

Cruz is not a natural born citizen and is not, therefore, eligible to be POTUS.

      • AirFrank

Neither is BO but he was elected POTUS

      • bobwhite

Obama is not a natural born citizen and he is President.

The voting no longer matters, Coda. It's the being willing to fight and die and taking a few down with you that will count. Semper Fi!

Your comment ranks right up there as one of the dumbest here. Did you graduate from 5th grade? If ignorance was a crime, you'd be serving life..

Obviously you graduated from a "gubberment skhool"!

    • mjritter

Btw, only a moron would want your vote. Teddy Cruz, the anti-American, is going nowhere. As a senator he'll accomplish nothing.. And Perry, the American people already demonstrated their dislike for him and his stupidity, he got out of the race for President quickly.. Outside if Texas he's a zero.. Which says a lot for the bulk of voters in Texas, a proud state once.. but so long ago

Marriage is the province of Yahweh, God of the Bible, PERIOD!

Last week's decision and any repercussions like that described in this article is the direct consequence of jurisdictional usurpation when the State took it upon itself to license (make legal) HETEROSEXUAL marriage--that which was ordained and already lawful by Yahweh. Whoever provides the license also makes the rules for what it licenses. Thus, it was inevitable that the lincensor would eventually make legal what is unlawful by Yahweh and eventually make illegal what is lawful by Yahweh.

This is the direct result of the framers' failure to establish government upon Yahweh's immutable morality as codified in His perfect law and altogether righteous judgments (Psalm 19:7-11).

For more on how Yahweh's moral triune law applies today, see the free online book "Law and Kingdom: Their Relevance Under the New Covenant" at

Wow, did you forget your medication today? What an anti-American rant on the 4th. Our forefathers clearly understood the ramifications of a theocracy (which apparently you want) and said no-way! This country was founded by people who had been persecuted for their religious beliefs, no mater what they are. You want to believe in your fairytale, no one is stopping you. Our forefathers knew what they were doing and they reiterated the fact that we are a SECULAR nation when in 1796 the ratified unanimously the Treaty of Tripoli. You can make all the claims you want, but the Declaration of Independence was written by a deist, not a Christian. Jefferson thought so much of the bible that he rewrote it. You can believe in your religion and claim what you will, a crutch to lean on, but almost 5 BILLION people on this planet do not subscribe to your beliefs.

      • A concerned american

So far four didn't subscribe to your rant.

        "Fairytale"?

A LARGE majority of Americans are people of faith and you INSULT THEM???

Just because you are a non believer, does not make their beliefs a "fairytale". And just because you (and perhaps 5 billion other people (I want hard copy) do not believe something... does not make it true!

You reflect poorly on people that believe like you, because of your gross ignorance and self aggrandizing ego.

        ONE THING FOR CERTAIN...

        If we are wrong... NOTHING!

        If YOU are wrong... EVERYTHING!

Good Post Coda. The saddest thing is that most Americans are just plain Stupid. They're happy with whatever freebies they get or are just Blind to what is and has happened to our Great country. There are not enough words/adjectives to describe them. I'm an Old Codger and am happy that my years are short as MY AMERICA is no longer. The Liberal Politicians & Media along with the Muslims including the Muslim President have brought us to our knees. Our beheading is coming.

    • iamcurious

You are not alone in your sentiment. The only thing still holding America together is the old folks, and some of the younger one's that were taught well by their parents and grandparents.

      • scot_belle

With Obama's death panels...how long do you think that we can hold on?

        • iamcurious

Considering how our America has changed so much for the worse in our lifetimes, who wants to hold on?

    • mjritter

You did say something right, some of the people are stupid.. Alan's you're right at the head of the list! First, to claim that Obama is a Muslim demonstrates ignorance. You have no right to make that claim. It appears you don't know what a Christian is. Maybe you need to seek some guidance. The fact that you claim to be an "old codger" again demonstrates that you live in yesteryear, when you think times were great. Pick a decade, any decade you've been alive and I'll gladly show you that things were far from perfect. You claim that people want "freebies," we I can easily point to you that people want to work, they want to raise their kids, they want decent education (except maybe some of the southern states), they don't want freebies. You want to blame people and institutions yet you are part if it. Maybe you should look into a mirror because the enemy we see are the people in the mirror.. It is you.

      • AirFrank

BO's father was a muslim, that makes BO a muslim. Simple as that. But I wouldn't expect you to have the required intelligence to connect those dots.

      • VoteLoud

You are ill-informed and disgracefully ignorant.

I have traveled (43) and lived in numerous states across America.

Your statement about "except maybe some of the southern states" conveys a bigotry and ignorance that is almost blinding!

Cabrini Green, North Philly, Watts... Obviously all Southern reminders of ignorance and dependence!

Go back to mommies basement and turn on Comedy Central... For you have exposed yourself for what you are!

Sadly, Progs like ritter believe that their "programs have worked", while America has condemned hundred of thousands of innocent children to grow up in squalor, prostitution, drugs and lives of crime and prison!

        THANK YOU FOR THE CHILDREN...

        JERK!!

      • iamcurious

Boy, you've got your head up your backside.

Who made you the Christian police telling me I don't know what it is to be a Christian?? More proof that you're one of the Liberal Village Idiots.
I never made any claim that things were perfect "in the old days". More proof of your lack of intelligence.
How dare you reference that people from the Southern States may not want an education. More proof that you're a Liberal Bigot.
As to people wanting Freebies, it's been document in every newspaper, radio station and TV news that 47% of the population is on some form of public assistance. The Ultimate proof that you're truly the Village Idiot.
In closing if you want to continue this pissing contest, be prepared to be wet.

It's people like you who are the problem.

it IS THE MARK OF THE BEAST [666] becoming a reality. hold on; all hell is going to break loose.

  • Renellin

Hold on this is not just a Christian thing, Nobody with a bias about anything? No feminists, no gay activists--or even Christian-haters. Nobody who doesn't like someone who stinks or steals, no one who is nervous around convicted felons, no environmentalists, no vegetarians, no animal rights activists. No black people ever, or perhaps any people ever. If you have ever said anything indicating a bias, you can't be hired. What a way to shrink government! Nobody that is human and can speak is not biased about something.

    • Nancy Beise

Except, Renellin, that the 'bias' wording gives the power to the people in the office - and if, today, those people do not like your ideas, you are out; tomorrow, if new people in office like your idea, you are in. This is the movement away from the Rule of Law, away from our Constitution that provides Equal Protection under the Law. Similar to countries that do not have a written constitution, countries that are simple democracies, that see their governments change and vacillate with every 'election.' It is the Rule of Might, 'might makes right' or affectionately known as Chicago Style Politics or mob rule.

Some of the results of mob rule include genocide and ethnic cleansing. A thoughtful read of world history will demonstrate that it is a form of government that fails, impoverishes its people, and sends them packing to places where they can live free and secure. Like America. Well, used to be...where will they go now?

  • Shears_of_Atropos

I don't see Muslims mentioned!! Radical Muslims will kill Americans, so they are OK! This has to be coming from a Muslim, even a liberal would not try such a scheme! The Koran, or ever how they spell it, and our constitution are NOT compatible, therefore, I say this is coming from a person who is Muslim, so our constitution does not come into play. If it is coming from Muslim, they will, most likely pass it, because they will be scared not to!

    2 Thess 2:3-12
3 let no man beguile you in any wise: for (it will not be,) except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition,

4 he that opposeth and exalteth himself against all that is called God or that is worshipped; so that he sitteth in the temple of God, setting himself forth as God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know that which restraineth, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.

7 For the mystery of lawlessness doth already work: only (there is) one that restraineth now, until he be taken out of the way.

    8 And then shall be revealed the lawless one, whom the Lord Jesus shall slay with the breath of his mouth, and bring to nought by the manifestation of his coming;

9(even he), whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:

12 that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
    ASV

  • 7papa7

It is once again obvious that America has turned its back on God. We will be judged that is a fact. Those of us who are Christians need to pray that, like in the book of Judges, we will come back to God again. This was the cycle of Judges. Sin, judgement, repentance, blessings then they started the cycle over again. It is a shame that America didn't learn from this and are doing the same thing as the Israelis did. God will NOT let this sin go unpunished. The only hope to avoid his judgement is repentance. I pray it is sooner than later. I want my children and grandchildren to grow up under God's blessing, NOT his judgement.

School children aren't allowed to read the Bible but prisoners are. If that were reversed we probably would have a lot less prisoners!

    • Paul Smith

Can't agree with that. Prisoners are adults and should be free to read whatever they choose. Children are impressionable and should NOT be indoctrinated in public school. Do you want them reading the Koran or Atheist or Satanic or other non-Christian dogma?

      • Mainman12

All of our schools in the 17th & 18th centuries used the 10 commandments teaching judeo-Christian morality. None were taught from the Koran. Teaching Truth of morality is not indoctrination! And it is not against Our Constitution to do so except in the minds of the ignorant who can't read

        • Paul Smith

And forced their theology on all. Today, we have determined that all have equal rights and that forcing religious dogma on people is wrong. You have no right to do that to my child.

        • Mainman12

Absolutely NOT, Paul. This is what the Christian moms and Dads wanted and even the few Jewish people as well. It was and IS the truth. There is NO reason to teach falsehood no matter how many resist the truth. The founders preferred Christian teaching. In writing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution they Preferred Christianity. They said that we should prefer Christian leaders. They said that our Republic couldn't stand without this. Obama is proving this to be correct.

        • Paul Smith

I don't care what the founders wanted and I certainly don't care what you christians want. If you want to worship some imaginary, pro-slavery sky-god, that is your right but don't you dare preach it to my children. You do NOT have that right!

Don't see how that could possibly pass constitutional muster. To be fair, it would also have to apply equally to Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Jews, Agnostics, Satanists, etc.

It can pass a Constitutional Test? The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence gives us UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. Unalienable Rights are rights our Founding-Fathers gave us from God. Unalienable Rights can never be taken away by Man. Laws are what the Government gives us which makes them Privileges and can be taken away by Man at any time........

I suppose this ban on Christians as city employees would include police, firefighters, trash collectors, etc. They are all city employees. My husband was a San Antonio firefighter for 32 years, and he was a very devoted Christian and all his firefighter buddies knew it. He died in 1999 and I still receive his widow's pension check. I wonder if they will stop my check if they find out I'm a Christian. I certainly do not make a secret of my Christianity and never will. I'm sure this idea originated with our "gay" supporting mayor, whose twin brother is a homosexual and who is a "best buddy" of Obama. How I wish he was NOT our mayor.

So, if I demonstrate a bias towards somebody who is demonstrating a bias, it gives the government the right to demonstrate a bias against me.

What if I was not the first to demonstrate a bias, but only demonstrated a bias in self defense, would that prevent the government from demonstrating a bias against me?

What if the government demonstrated a bias against me by passing a law saying I couldn't demonstrate a bias? Would they be guilty of their own law?

This law should last about 30 seconds.

ALL I can say is the Bible is unfolding just as written. People that call themselves atheist, I wonder if you have ever read or studied the BIBLE? I realize there are parts of the Bible that is not complete, but if you really wanted to make sure that you want to believe there is no God then I would find another more complete Bible that is older and has more books in it. (The original Geneva Bible for one).

God gave us 10 Simple Commandments to live by, and they pretty much cover every sin.

I know one thing is for sure, this is for EVERYBODY, Jesus said if you DENY me, I will deny you in heaven. So that being said, when you make your decisions, I WOULD PRAY TO GOD THAT THIS IS THE CORRECT ONE, and better yet, You better hope it is the right one for your sake!

The unholy alliance between Obama, Holder, Jarrett, Pelosi (yes-Pelosi) and others have quickly drifted over the continental United States and permeated vast segments of our society and the liberal leaders have accepted it as a gleeful mandate to persecute Christians to their heart's desires.
I have long heard and read in the Bible" in the last days men will persecute you for my name's sake" and it is coming to pass. Thankfully, they will only have me but for a short period and if they kill me, what can they do to the soul?
One thing that they can to do the elderly is to cease their Social Security benefits if they claim to be Christians and slowly starve them to death. To this administration it wouldn't matter anyway because the elderly are no longer productive citizens and are a drain on the economy. One could go on, but I believe that population control is somewhere in the Obama's agenda and sooner or later Obama's full mask will come off and we will know him for who and what he is...

Well...we all have wondered how the Germans could have systematically killed 6 million Jews...it started with taking their jobs. Liberals are the new Nazis.

    • Shears_of_Atropos

Amen, the Jews were targeted for their "evil" influence, which was "to the detriment of the German people". The rest followed as night follows day.

San Antonio has real major problems. Much like Los Angles California, the city is water bankrupt. The US Supreme Court tossed out an interstate water compact this term. A long term drought has left this city without a long term water supply. Again much like LA this is a Democrat area, 'till the water supply runs out.

In less time than it takes to go to the US Supreme court with this case

  • Alice Schultz

And we think Egypt has problems! We better start to wake up and smell
the coffee. This is nothing more than another major power-grab by
certain individuals to destroy the fabric and foundation of this
country. A little leaven leavens the whole loaf, and we have had plenty
of crappy leaven inserted into the foundations of our once 'free
country', and we are rapidly being swallowed up by the evils of tyranny
and oppression. Good luck San Antonio! Your famous river walk with all
its beautiful "Christian" marriage ceremonies will soon be a thing of
the past, too. BTW, this isn't JUST happening in San Antonio. There
are other, equally subverting methods occurring all across this
country. We had better take heed and in a hurry, because unstopped,
this country will soon become a living hell.

Once again over 5 million Religious 'Right sat on their hands in 2012 and now they want to whine about the results that allowed the antichrist back in for another 4 years. I say you made your bed you sleep in it. If you had not gone off spending time debating if mormons really were Christians and then sitting out 2012 obama would be gone and gay marriage would not have happened. Why do demoncrats always win? Because they always band together and vote for whatever moves the ball forward in their direction. Republicans, on the other hand, split off into groups because this one isn't 100% correct on this issue and that one isn't 100% on that issue and this one is mormon and that one doesn't go to church every sunday and in the end the Republicans put another L on the list and let in a candidate, like obama, who is a million times worse than any republican candidate who was running. And then like good christians they whine about the results when THEY ARE AT FAULT. It is like trying to herd cats to get these people together for a win. I have never seen a group so intent on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory over and over and over.

    • Damon

...Well we now have one intelligent person besides me to figure this out.
Can't vote for a Mormon but would rather have a homosexual muslim

      • Michael Barrett

i know..there are at least 10 in my extended family who worship ron paul and since he did not endorse anyone they sat out 2012. My niece posted onher facebook page how show was taking a principled stand by not voting for either candidate. She is pro-life. Trying to get my head around how letting obama back in to fund abortions world wide was better than putting in Romney who would have stopped the practice as Bush did. How is have a totally proabortion candidate in is better than fighting for a pro-life candidate? Im telling you I would rather herd cats than try to get these people to think logically.

    • timpclimber

Good straight shooting comment. I would add that now that we have invited the camel into the tent don't be surprised by all the nasty little fleas that came with it.

      • Michael Barrett

Wow, do I agree with you. And because of those fleas everyone on the right should have sat aside their petty little arguments and crawled if necessary to vote for Romney. But they didn't so now we will have to fight flea after flea for 4 years.

    • http://renewthearts.org/projects/music/bands/physick/ Physick

Romney would have been no better. He would have been the same, just with a different letter after his name... an "R" instead of a "D." Electing the "right" guy to be president is not the solution to America's problems. Our problem is not political. It is spiritual. It is cultural. Instead of lamenting that Christians didn't vote for Romney, people should be lamenting that the Church has been so apathetic and lackadaisical the past century. Christians are so obsessed with waiting for the "any-minute rapture" and voting in their media-approved candidates instead of focusing on evangelizing and actively trying to recapture the youth in the Church, who are being swept away everyday by the seductions of the world.

      • Michael Barrett

Your comment is such a cop-out. It is ridiculous to say that obama and romney are equal. I could list issue after issue after issue where Romney would have gone 180 degrees different than Obama and would have been so much better for the country. Would he have solved all the rpoblems or most of them? Of course not. But just beause he wouldn't have moved the ball all t he way to the endzone is no reason to not take the good you can get rather than sitting back watching the muslim/homosexual antichrist continue to destroy the country. That is why I stated what I did about demoncrats always going with whoever moves the ball forward in their direction. You will NEVER hear a demoncrat make such an untrue statement that there is no difference between 2 candidates such as Obama and Romney. It is crystal clear to them the difference and they fight tooth and nail to get that difference into office. So while they fight to get their difference maker in we have people sitting around stating their is no difference. What are the differences: keystone pipeline would be being built, doma would have been defended and we would not have gay marriage, abortion around the world would have been defunded as bush did, there would be no war on coal but a use everything approach, no wasted money on fake solar/wind projects, no more trillion dollar deficits, and on and on. THAT IS A DIFFERENCE NOT THE SAME.

        • http://renewthearts.org/projects/music/bands/physick/ Physick

Their speeches differed. A little. But then again, Obama isn't even doing what he campaigned on. He's a puppet as Romney would have been. We have no idea how Romney would have acted on abortion since he's changed his position so many times to accommodate his respective electorates. He's a politician who says what's necessary to get elected. Although it hasn't quite worked the last two times.

What's funny to me was how in the beginning, Republicans didn't want to have anything to do with Romney. It was the conservatives versus Romney. But then, the media just kept calling it for Romney. And Republicans complied with the media and held their nose for the chosen one.

Probably the vast majority of voters in this country voted for someone they didn't like. They voted for their "team leader," because the media told them he was most likely to win. Things will never change as long as people continually vote for the candidate that is most "electable." The media will always be the one defining who is most electable, and they know that most viewers will do as they're told.

        • Michael Barrett

WEll keep saying things to make yourself feel better, but I am positive most will agree with me that we would be a million times better off if Romney had been voted in. As for abortion, he picked a pro-life running mate and I am sure he would have voted pro-life. Just unleashingour oil industry would have created millions of new jobs and turned our economy around. But keep fooling yourself...it is what conservatives do best.

Affirmative Action needs to be ended: It is being used to destroy Whites and Christians. The intention was to give Blacks a boost up (most people saw Affirmative Action as a substitute for reparation payments), but then Affirmative Action began being applied to Hispanics (Illegal Immigrants), even homosexuals. Hispanics were considered White, and there was low, if any, discrimination against Hispanics. Affirmative Action was applied to recent immigrants, Amnestied Immigrants, 10s of millions of people who did not deserve any kind of reparation payment for discrimination.

Pretended discrimination against homosexuals is just that because it is a
self-inflicted problem. Everyone needs the freedom to express preferences,
choose their own associations, and employees. Homosexuality is an obvious
personality disorder. Since homosexuals have 50% more disease, a much lowered life span, and physiological changes that are embarrassing, heterosexuals prefer not to have those associations. For homosexuals, discrimination from others is a life-style choice, not the responsibility of the heterosexual public. Those with homosexual tendencies can choose celibacy instead of the dangers of homosexuality and heterosexual aversion. No one in our nation is responsible for what someone inflicts on himself.

    • CJM2

But your tax dollars still support their "causes" even if you will be refused the benefit of any public program set up for those in need. If you think all whites somehow benefit from existing programs (help with utility bills, food stamps, medicaid, etc), think again. Many white seniors are turned away because "they don't have children," or the "quota has been met for their group," and, although rarely uttered, "these programs are for blacks only." It doesn't matter that the seniors have spent their entire working life supporting these programs, they are eliminated from any benefits because they are a "majority race" (and heterosexual).

      • nmgene

After paying in to Social Security for 50 years I recieve the grand total of $1349 per month which qualifies me at the food bank but not for food stamps. As I wont be 66 for 4 more years I get no medical assistance whatsoever. As I am a type 1 diabetic $100.00 a month goes for my medicine. And yes I started working and got my Social security Card at 12. As several of my employers never reported or paid my Social Security even though they took it out of my pay, I dont get full payment and have no way to fight it as I have no records from the 70s and 80s. But Senators get 174 K retirement and full medical even if they only served one term in office. What a lovely crooked government we have!!!!!!!!!!

        • CJM2

Welcome to the club nmgene; I know I paid more in SS and Medicare than what was reported---but there is no way to fight that last decision to finalize benefits. I worked in the '60s and very little was noted as "reported earnings." So, like you, I had to settle for less than I should have received. And the fat cats are getting fatter now that they have illegally passed "laws" that enables them to be "exempt from any wrongdoing" as in the Insider Trading Laws.

    • Don39

This is not affirmative action! It is ckear cut Unconstitutional religeous discrimination!

  • MrLogical

    Part I.

    A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men.
    B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women.
    C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies.
    D. WithIn three generations, Democrats will be virtually obsolete.

    Part II:

The 10 Poorest Cities in America and how it happened...
(City, State, % of People Below the Poverty Level)

    1. Detroit, MI 32.5%
    2. Buffalo, NY 29.9%
    3. Cincinnati, OH 27.8%
    4. Cleveland, OH 27.0%
    5. Miami, FL 26.9%
    5. St. Louis, MO 26.8%
    7. El Paso, TX 26.4%
    8. Milwaukee, WI 26.2%
    9. Philadelphia, PA 25.1%
    10. Newark, NJ 24.2%

What do these top ten cities (over 250,000) with the highest poverty rate all have in common?

Detroit, MI (1st on the poverty rate list) Hasn't elected a Republican mayor since 1961

Buffalo, NY (2nd) Hasn't elected one since 1954

    Cincinnati, OH - (3rd) Since 1984

    Cleveland, OH - (4th) Since 1989

Miami, FL - (5th) Has NEVER had a Republican mayor

    St. Louis, MO - (6th) Since 1949

El Paso, TX - (7th) Has NEVER had a Republican mayor

    Milwaukee , WI - (8th) Since 1908

    Philadelphia, PA - (9th) Since 1952

    Newark, NJ - (10th) Since 1907

Supreme irony: It is the poor who habitually elect and then re-elect Democrats ... and yet they are still POOR. (You would think they would learn a lesson.)

    Part III

"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves." -- Abraham Lincoln

Liberalism will not, and cannot, help those whom they try hardest to help. Because they take the opposite approach to helping – they actually make things worse for everyone, and especially for the the poor.

Pass this along to everyone you know, and perhaps we can break the liberal's death grip on self-imposed and self-destructive poverty.

Amazing! Now Christians are the "bad guys" and are being openly persecuted! This nation was founded upon Bible principles. Now the forces of "darkness" are taking control because the believers were too lazy to stand up for truth! One more nail in America's coffin! We keep telling you that America is finished and some of you keep saying, "You're too negative!" Or, "Get a pair and come out fighting!" Yet every day something new is added to the scales that say, "It was great while it lasted!" What do we hear from our elected officials? Silence! Oh yeah! They "booed" God at the DNC. The ACLU continues to systematically remove all Judeo-Christian symbols under the guise of Separation of Church and State. There is little question that Satan is alive and well in America! At a Texas rally, a woman actually shouted "Hail Satan!" Wonder what these people will do when they realize there really is a God, He is the One who raised up America, and He is the One who is bringing down America because we have rejected HIm?!.Wonder what they will do when they realize they are being judged for mocking God and for blasphemy? How sad they elected fools to lead them! ["The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God!'" (Psalm 14;1)]

See my comment above concerning Ps. 2

  • J D S

    Psalm 2

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people devise a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us break Their bonds asunder, and cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision.

5 Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure:

6 “Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree: The Lord hath said unto Me, ‘Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.

8 Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings; be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is
kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.

Let's take the San Antonio city council's premise to its utterly stupid (but logical) conclusion: Any Christian living in San Antonio (and all those peskly Lutheran Youth who are gathered there this week for NYG) can now be declared 'non citizen' and thereby devoid of ANY liability in paying ANY tax to that city entity.

We wouldn't want to taint those vile, pagan city coffers with any kaffer money now would we? Just sayin! Such stupidity from a government demands a total recall of the elected...and a pulse check on the electorate.

MORON ALERT: If passed Bias works both ways, both positive or negative on ANY issue. For example, you prefer red hair? You are out of here. You dislike red hair? You are out of here. Either pro or anti fisherman (or ANY other issue)? Out of here. The result is "WE ONLY HIRE DRONES" who have no likes or dislikes.

Although I detest this mans content as a human being and his politics this GEM he provided it completely true.

You do not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered. -- Lyndon B. Johnson

    • Guest

Actually, you CAN have bias against someone for red hair. You can hate fishermen (or love them). Read the actual proposed ordinance. It is very specific in the areas where bias is not permitted:

      http://www.kslr.com/ContentPages/3966/

      • Kenshi

It clearly does state that ANY bias + or- based on Color is not allowed, neither does it define just what color means (in Law one can ASSUME nothing because it makes A Ass out of U and ME), so If I was fired I could clearly allege and file a civil rights Law Suite because I was fired "because" they had a bias against the color of my hair. My point is that the authors and supporters of this law are many cards short of a deck, INW they are driveling MORONS which as a life long libertarian (I am 60) I can clearly see.

  • soldiermom11

I am not talking about indoctrinating children. I am just talking about children being raised to know right from wrong so they don't get to prison. It's the difference between choosing to wearing a cross or wearing gang tats. I was just using the Bible since it is something a large part of our society believes in.

    • Paul Smith

I also teach my children morals and ethics. To survive in society, the majority of people must live by the golden rule and the mandate to 'do no harm' neither of which originate with any theology. The Bible is NOT a moral document overall and contains virtually no useful moral or ethical teaching. Look to Buddhism or Hinduism for FAR better moral guidance (and even those are far from perfect).

      • Parmenter

In a multicultural "everything is equally the same, nothing is right or wrong, non-judgmental philosophy that we have been fed from the humanists, who will have the final say on what is right or wrong for all? Our founders already warned us about liberty being impossible without Jesus Christ.
We've been told for so long that they were "deists"--though nobody else is a deist and we're not really very sure what a deist is--there are plenty of things they said to that effect. Be sure to get the complete quote, as many parts of things are quoted that seem to say otherwise--kind of like has been done with the phrase, "separation of church and state"--if you put that back into the entire letter to the Danbury congregation, Jefferson is saying exactly the opposite of what our courts have said that it says
We've been lied to a long time.

  • jarnkm

It is amazing how they have decided, over the past few decades, to try to discriminate totally against the Christian Religion and none other. Even the Muslim Faith that teaches and preaches Jihad in the majority of their Mosques(that our NSA refuses to monitor, even knowing that this is happening and is a threat to OUR NATION!!) that I am quite sure a large amount of tax money has helped to build. Stopping the spread of Christianity and Prayer was one of the main 1963 Communist Goals for America that OUR government passed down to us in the forms of laws declarations, programs, etc. since that time and is one of the first group of them that they forced upon "We the Sheeple". This nation is far from being a Christian Nation any longer. HOWEVER, every citizen has benefited from the initial laws and regulations that came from our Constitution. The basis behind these laws and regulations are easily found in the Bible. No matter what is said and/or done, those who abide and live by them, Christian or not, seem to have a much better life than those who choose not to. IF one studies the history of Socialism, Communism, Facism, etc. it is quickly found that CHRISTIANITY is the very first thing that they must destroy ... IF they ever hoe to control the people. I will soon be 72 years old and have seen this coming since I was in High School!! The vast majority were satisfied as it was and refused to believe that things would change. Our government told us not to worry, that we had conquered Communism. IF SO, then why did they allow the Communist Party to openly operate right here in America??? Fox guarding the Hen House!! In early 2000's, the CPUSA sued the Democratic Party for stealing their agenda and changing the name of it to "Progressive"! HELLO!! There are many who die in their sleep and it seems that this will be the fate of the once greatest nation on Earth! God help us and may He forgive us from turning away from Him!! AND most wonder why this is happening??

Mark Horne, why didn't you post a link to the actual proposed ordinance instead of just making vague references to it?

Government really needs to get out of the business of playing favorites as it attempts to either provide for perceived needs or protect from perceived harms. As long as government passes out boons based on politics, someone is going to get short shrift. Today it is the Christians, tomorrow it may be someone else.

Not to mention freedom of religion. No, actually mention it. Freedom of religion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What in the world has happened to Texas?????

    • fatman45

Rick Perry made the mistake of inviting Californians to come work there. He forgot that they would bring their political ignorance with them.

      • Proud American

You DO need to remember that not ALL people in California are libertards! Unfortunately, we have WAY too many of 'em for MY taste. The ones who moved businesses to Texas, however, are most likely more conservative. Give us poor California Conservatives a break and don't lump us all together as libertards.

    • Worship Dancer

libturds moved there after they finished ruining colorado.

    • govtrumbull

The same thing has happened to Texas as has happened to every other place in America. Liberal progressives. Texas is still one of the most conservative and pro constitution States in the USA, but the the better the people, the harder liberals and progressives will work to subvert whatever is good.

Big cities are almost exclusively liberal when it comes to government. The big draw for liberalism to be successful as far as gaining power are Federal handouts to cities. Every time the city fathers accept cash from D.C. there are always strings attached to it. Not a dime flows out of Washington without some sort of leverage attached, that gives Washington more power. The rule applies to both cities and States that accept the taxpayer funded "free money".

    • TexasOlTimer

It's the liberals that ruined their own states, left them for a state that had opportunities and now want to make it over in the image of what they left. They settle mostly in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas but you'll find small groups of them in other locations. Wish there was a way to put check points at the roads into the state asking if those moving in are liberals and, if so, turning them around.

Unfortunately they'd scream discrimination over that and instead move here and practice discrimination.

  • govtrumbull

What I see is a case heading for the Supreme Court. To ban anyone from working in the public sector is blatantly unconstitutional and discriminatory. The Mayor and the City Council have no authority to pass such a rule.
Of all the places for this to happen, the home of the Alamo and its citizens should be ashamed of their elected officials. I have been to San Antonio and enjoyed our visit. The Riverwalk is very unique and enjoyable, and the Visit to the Alamo was a highlight to our trip. It is a city however, in desperate need of an entire new group of people running it. Maybe the people who support the City Fathers would be happier in another city, State or even another Country. Cuba is one of the first places that comes to mind. Fidel hates Christians too. After-all, he has murdered plenty of Christians in the his sixty-three years as the communist leader in that country. They may as well go and enjoy the good life that Castro has brought to the Cuban people. I am sure that there would be a number of Cubans who would trade Communist Cuba for the United States in a heartbeat.

  • Wayne

Does anyone in San Antonio know about the bill of rights, or the constitution?

    • John_Sinropa

Does anyone in San Antone know anything about the city's history & how it got it's name? (The name itself is a big, fat clue!)

      • TexasOlTimer

Yup! I've been waiting for them to try to change their name. I'm bettin' that no one in the city government has thought about it or it'd already happened!

The Alamo for more than 100 years was taken care of by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas without a dime of tax money. No admission was charged. They managed on donations alone even though the site belongs to the State of Texas. The ladies in some of the San Antonio chapters got involved in disagreements about some matters involving the running of the Alamo.

The result? Our Congress decided asked how on earth could a bunch of women run this (never mind they had for more than a century with no tax money) and the State had to take over that job. So now the State is making wholesale changes and I'm betting that there will be an admission to see it in the future.

        • John_Sinropa

They'll probably print brochures in twenty different languages and put in new rest rooms for 'none of the above'. Politicians seldom see a pie they don't want to stick their fingers in. Oh well, have a good one, Tex.

The city just disqualified itself by discriminating with bias. YOUR ALL FIRED!

The Mayor of San Antonio was one of the featured hotshot, up and coming "golden boys" at the Dem Nat'l Convention in Charlotte, NC last year. Remember, that's where the word God had to be put back in the Dem Party platform by a rigged voice vote against the majority of the conventioneers.
The Mayor's name is Castro. Julian Castro.
I hope that helps some of you understand what is happening in San Antonio, where the Battle of the Alamo was fought, and one of America's most enjoyable and safest tourist destination cities.
I am thinking those days are soon to be over with San Antonio becoming a place to avoid and dangerous as the highway to Hell.

    • greatjoy

Are you asking for a military coup? Be careful what you wish for.
One of the provisions of our Constitution is a civil government.
We need to train ourselves and organize, gain seats in local government,
and engage in making policy. Based on Judeo/Christian law, not
sharia, nazi, communist, or arbitrariness of humanistic religion,--America
was the envy of the whole world as the poor and trampled of the world longed to be free and come here. When I went to India about 20 yrs ago,
every person I talked to wanted to know if I could arrange for them to come here. Our founders were NOT deists. They were Christian men who said that we COULD NOT enjoy liberty without faith in Jesus Christ
and HIS law. "Do unto others as you would that they would do to you,"
and"The greatest commandment is to love the LORD your God with all your heart and the 2nd is like unto it, to love your neighbor as yourself." People willing to live by the teachings of Christ are central to a country based on liberty and self-government. They warned that it's either the
Bible or the bayonet. If we can't SELF-govern we will need others to
forge the chains that will control our behavior. Our founders had a very
dim view of man's goodness without God. Many many quotes available on the web.

      • CosmosFactory

Its too late to go to the voting booths to fix our problems, even if there were good politicians to vote for(few and far between), they either become corrupt once in or are black mailed into being so, that's even if our votes count anymore since the electric voting machine has come on the scene. We need to be on our knees before the living God, crying out in repentance for His mercy on this land before it goes too far and provokes His wrath on this great nation like Sodom and Gomorrah got,

Hell has come to America. And Satan is their leader. Their hero. Sad!. Sad!, Sad! We need a lot of prayers to defeat them.

    • KABAR2

Just prayers? If God is to hear America's prayers then American's must get down on their knees and ask forgiveness.... then and only then will God hear our prayers!

      Forgive our Country for :

      Murder = Abortion
      abomination = homosexuality
      promiscuity = free birth control
      holly wood and pornography
to name a few....... I am sure
others can add to the list

We as Americans and as Christians are not guiltless for we allowed the world to decide our countries moral standard we remained silent many times as we watched it happen.... and for that we must ask God's forgiveness.....

  • fromthemomma

    • gonepostal

The 2nd amendment says we have the right bear arms. Look what they are trying to do to that.

  • greatjoy

This progression is historical. The years leading up to Germany's takeover by the Nazi regime saw similar expansions in power to those who might be called homofascists. There was the marginalization of the church and Jews, and the eventual segregation of them into the camps. 6 million Jews, 10 million Christians, gypsies and other undesirables were systematically destroyed. (The Soviets destroyed about 80 million of their Christians, and China has an ongoing war against faith in anything but what the state approves--over 100 million. The bamboo gulag has never closed down. North Korea is beyond imagination how communists have brutalized segments of the population, if you are found to have a Bible, or to close your eyes at any point when you should be looking at a portrait of the dear leader with adoration, you and three generations of your family can be sent to camps.)

George Washington said, "Arbitrary power is built on the ruins of liberty abused
to licentiousness." Licentiousness is giving yourself license to do what you want
and licentiousness likes to enslave others to the insatiable appetites of the strongest humans. Christian and Judeo teaching places emphasis on training the appetite to serve others in the love of God. They are completely opposite
    ways of conducting life.

Tolerance of that which is wrong and destructive, is evil.

    • Edward Ebersole

True, you are pointing out some very good facts.

    • David Irons

Everyone just puts the acronym of "NAZI".. remember what Nazi's were
and are: National Germans SOCIALIST Workers Party.. aka, Marxist! Tyrants!

      • Scott James

The USA joined the Marxist commies to fight Germany and Japan. The Nazi's came to power after jews did to Germany what jews are now doing to the USA. The Germans were fighting communism on their Eastern border. After they took back the land given to France after WW1 the Germans tried to make peace with the West. The jews who controlled the UK and the USA would have none of that.

Jews invented communism and used it to murder 50 million Christians in the USSR. The evidence this is true is overwhelming.

Shake off the brainwashing. There is a reason our children are force fed holocaust lies every year of their education.

Both Japan and Germany were capitalist nations and the USA joined the commie USSR and China to fight our own kind.

What is happening to our nation is a direct result of this mistake. We live in a subverted republic and jews who are a hostile elite in the West are the ones behind most things like this.

        • Kenneth Kalinich

Wow!! History being re-written. Scott, I think you forgot to mention that it was the Jews who bombed Pearl Harbor. They are very crafty. They made themselves up to look like Japanese. They even used real Japanese airplanes in their ruse.

Also don't forget to mention that it was these same Jews who funded the 9/11 terrorists & provided them all the training they needed. They were smart & never taught them how to land the planes.

Oh yes & how can we forget the OKC & Beruit bombings?? Yep you guessed it, the Jews.

Maybe I should add that this is sarcasm.

As long as they feel free to TAKE the Christians TAX money they will have to put up with us putting in more than our "two cents" worth of input on ALL issues and this city will LOSE a federal level case. At the very least, take them out, tar and feather them, and throw them in the river chained to a large rock. Can you feel the love?

  • Ray - Jesus is the Son of God.

"Proposed Law Prohibits Christians From Working For San Antonio City Government"

    That's discrimination.

  • Ray - Jesus is the Son of God.

The hate crime laws which are being enacted throughout the world reflect the New Age desire to shut the mouths of Bible believers. These laws can make it illegal for Christians to condemn moral perversions such as homosexuality and to warn plainly of heresies. Such actions are considered hateful and divisive and harmful to modern society. Christians have already been charged under these laws in Australia, Canada, England, and America, and we have only seen the beginning of this movement.

The article does not reference the specific proposed law. It would be very helpful for those of us interested in opposing this if we could know the specific proposal so we can research it and be prepared.

Suggest you call the San Antonio city offices and ask them. They will tell you, ok? Does that help you? Would you like me to dial the phone for you?

      Also, check this out:

      • Brent Garner

Sueychop, my past experience in calling the city regarding such things is that I get the run around. No one seems to be able to properly identify or speak in a detailed manner about any thing. You surely saw the smoke-and-mirrors treatment those of us who opposed the wasteful and duplicative Kindergarten program dictator Castro rammed through were given? And you expect me to trust the word of any city official on this issue? Further, even the link you gave does not reference the specific statute or the proposal. I have found it extremely useful to actually be able to read the language and be able to quote it to the government official in order to get them to tell the truth, hence my interest in being able to read the language of the proposal myself.

  • Sueychop

Good article. One problem, though..."time is on the side of Christians and other groups who value children," is not true at all. Time is not on anyone's side as the Day of the Lord is here. Not to mention that with test tube babies/cloning things are getting weird on this planet. There is "new evil" afoot. Transhumanism, robotic implants, oh yeah, nobody gets out of here alive, but don't fear those who can kill the body but can't kill your soul.

Who killed some 3000 innocent people in NY City in 2001, Believers or
    Non-believers?

If these believing Muslim were Atheists or Agnostics, these 3000 or so New York victims would be alive today.

Religion results in far more harm and evil than good.

Look at all those religious wars, the Inquisition, burning of heretics, and
suicidal bombings where thousands were victims.

World War 1 and 2 results in the death of Millions and Millions, and yet the
main participants of both wars were all Catholics (Italy and Germany),
    Christians (Germany), and Shintoist (Japan).

Both the population and leaders of those countries were raised and brought up
in Traditional Religion which did nothing to prevent the Wars and the slaughter
    of Millions.

For example, Hitler and Mussolini were raised as Catholics and Stalin was
raised a Russian Orthodox (I heard Stalin even wanted to be a priest in his
childhood days. Hitler was even a Catholic Altar Boy when he was a Child.)

So Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin were all raised as Christians.

It is not of LACK of belief, but strong BELIEF in religion that causes all this
Harm and Evil in the World.

It would be much better for the World if we ALL ABANDON TRADITIONAL Religion, like Christianity, and adopt a Non-religious Belief.

The FASTEST Growing Religion in the World today is "Non-Belief",
which increased from almost zero over 100 years ago to the third largest Belief
in the World (next to Christianity and Islam).

The prediction is that it will be the largest Belief in the next 100 years or sooner. Don’t be surprised if almost all Traditional Religious Beliefs (like Christianity) will be extinct as Greek Mythology by then.

    • Jacqueleen

Most wars were originated for the money that the atheist, billionaire rulers behind the scenes made form their investments in artillery, weapons, vehicles, airplanes, tanks, uniforms, etc. THE CULPRIT WAS MONEY!!!!!

Jesus will come back for the second time before your predictions ever get off the ground. We live in very close END TIMES. Be prepared or suffer eternal consequences.
