New Jersey Teacher Being Persecuted for Christian Beliefs Posted on Own Facebook Page

viki-knox-facebook-thumb-400xauto-25127In the past, we’ve seen articles and blogs about students and teachers that have been penalized for expressing their personal beliefs in the classroom, especially if those beliefs have been against homosexuality.  Students have been punished for saying homosexuality is a sin.

And on the flip side, teachers and other public school employees can say anything they want against Christianity and Jesus without any fear of penalty.  There was the case of a school bus driver who called a young girl and ‘stupid little bigot’ when he overheard her tell another student that she believed homosexuality was wrong.  Nothing happened to the bus driver.  Hundreds of teachers have ridiculed Christian students in the classroom in front of other students and nothing is done about it.

Now a New Jersey second grade school teacher, Viki Knox is facing possibly suspension or termination because of what she posted on her own Facebook page on her own time.  The school where Knox teachers was publicly recognizing Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual History Month.  On her own personal Facebook page, Knox wrote that homosexuality is a sin and that it ‘breeds like a cancer.’  She also wrote that the publicizing of LGBT History Month was ‘unnatural, immoral behavior before the rest of us.’

Gay rights groups have jumped on the case accusing Knox of teaching hatred in the classroom.  At the school board meeting to discuss Knox’s situation, activists were shouting ‘no hate in our state.’

Those supporting Knox are accusing gay rights activists for bullying Knox and that bullying should not be allowed in the schools in any form.  Some are also pointing out that to punish Knox for her religious views on homosexuality would amount to violating her right of religious freedom.

At the moment, Knox has been placed on administrative leave pending the school board’s decision and Facebook has removed her page.  If this doesn’t constitute bullying in the public school system, I don’t know what does.  Even teachers can and are being bullied for their religious beliefs just as are students!

I bet that if Knox had posted something on her Facebook claiming that Christian were intolerant bigots that nothing would have happened and she would still be in the classroom with her second graders.  This is just another example of Christian persecution that has been happening more and more here in what once was a Christian nation.

For me it's pretty simple. I prefer to worship and follow the one with the Halo instead of the one with the horns and the pitch fork. Times were better when they stayed in the closet. Now they are just the useful idiots for the one world order crowd.

Why did FB remove her page? She say something about Obama ? I feel the same way she does and i am tired of people telling me i'm judging. Can't get through one day of life with out judging. It covers what we ware and what we eat and drink.
She is in-tilted to her opinion just like the LBGT !!

call us what you want, its not the people we hate, its the sin of being immoral! as for myself, i will not recognize the so-called LGBT month. because its not a way of life, its a SIN!

here in America or the earth as far as it goes, i can say what i want to say and hate what i want to hate….Jesus said he’ll back me up on that. and Jesus is the ONLY judge for us, not the government.

The teacher is neither completely right nor completely wrong. And the school was neither completely right nor completely wrong. She possibly should have been reprimanded, but not suspended or fired.

First, I do believe the most of the homophobia in the United States is repulsive. My younger sister was either bisexual or a lesbian. She committed suicide on April 3 of this year, and I cannot help but believe one thing that contributed to her suicide was others' harassing her about her sexual preference and not accepting her for who she was. It is one thing to have bigoted opinions based on hatred and / or ignorance. It is quite another to publicly broadcast them for all to see. In this nation, if you say or write something derogatory about someone, whether it is true or untrue, they can still sue you for slander or libel respectively even in this free nation. I am not gay, but I do believe in LGBT rights because of my late sister and my refusal to let her death be in vain. Our nation has indubitably long been one of bias and prejudice. African Americans. Muslims. LGBT people. The list goes on. I am a Christian, and I do not believe that such behavior is one that my God would desire of His people. Does not the Bible say "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you" and "Love thy neighbor"?

At the same time, I must ask, why in the bloody hell was an ELEMENTARY school, where probably most or all students are age 11 or younger, teaching about ANY sexual practice, much less celebrating it? And we wonder why there are so many teenage parents with illegitimate offspring! If they are going to teach 6 – 11 year olds about sex, hell, why don't they offer a class about proper condom use and start installing condom vending machines in the boys' restrooms! At least they can cut down on child pregnancies, and turn a profit on it too! I am aware that there would probably be some students even in elementary school who were sexually active regardless, but it probably would be a lot lower if the school did not promote sexuality to such young children.

The teacher should have instead focused her angle on why they were teaching ANY sexual preference, regardless whether it was straight or homosexual, to such young children. High school that would be appropriate. Middle school, borderline. But elementary school, certainly not! I don't have children, but if I did, I would not want my 7 or 8 year old asking me "Dad, what's a transsexual" like Kyle asked his father what was a sex-change operation in a South Park episode after his teacher (Mr. / Mrs. Garrison) announced in class earlier that day that he / she had had one! You do have to draw the line somewhere. The teacher was indeed right in spirit, her intentions I will agree were probably noble. She just chose the wrong pursuit, and that error has probably cost her her job. Rather than "Christians" attacking the LGBT community and condoning her disdain of their sexual preference, or the LGBT community trying to make an example of her for her "hate speech", Christians as well as parents of the students in said school (regardless of their own personal religion) should be demanding answers from the school why they are promoting ANY sexuality in the classroom to 6 – 11 year olds. That would not be a straight versus LGBT matter. It would be a "what is acceptable to be teaching young children in elementary school" matter.

The reason gays practice the hate they do is. They hate having the truth told directly to them. They have made themselves gods over this earth. The say we are the ones who say what truth is , and what is right and wrong. They can't face up the the real truth of the Bible, because the know they will have to face the truth when they wind up in hell.

Everyone here who believes Viki Knox is correct needs to overflow the school with email and snail mail telling them that we vehemently disagree with their actions and stand behind Viki Knox. We need our voices heard on this matter. Jesus said, “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 10:33).

We must not tolerate this sort of forced deviant bullying period. Woe to those organizations who celebrate deviant behavior.

Go on Christian Post and you too will be attacked as homophobic by gay activists commenting on that site. That's the way it is for Christian believers.

If you are truly desiring your voice to be heard regarding Mrs. Knox, I would advise you change a few words here and there in the copy and pasted letter. With G-mail, you can filter words, phrases, even entire sentences to go to archives, spam, or trash. I am sure the government has equivalent or superior technology. Take 5 minutes to change a few words here and there if you want to be sure they cannot filter it all and are truly bombarded. One combination is a hell of a lot easier to filter than hundreds or even thousands of potential combinations. If your goal is to force them to read the e-mails (or become so bored and exasperated that they throw up their hands and surrender and end Mrs. Knox's suspension), don't make it easy for them to filter your messages. The more word combinations, the less effective the "spam" filtering. If everyone sends the same identical letter, then sooner or later they will be filtered and none will be read at all after that point.

As I stated earlier, I think this should be a concern over what should be appropriate to teach children in school, not a straight versus LGBT war. I do happen to support LGBT rights since I had a lesbian or bisexual sister who committed suicide. But I am concerned with schools pressing the envelope teaching increasingly more mature and inappropriate material to younger children since my first cousin has one infant child and another on the way who possibly will be educated in the public schools within a few years if they do not decide to send them to private schools instead. My first cousin's kids will eventually learn about transsexuals and sex change surgery, but I'd prefer that be at an older age than 11.

Right now, there is a completely frivolous issue at hand here that is serving as an albatross to handicap Mrs. Knox. On one side, you have the homophobic "Christians" who hate the LGBT community. On the other, you have of course not only the LGBT people, but also you have straight people (like myself) who support respect and equality for LGBT people, possibly because of an LGBT family member or friend, possibly just because they feel it to be morally right, and possibly both. These two opposing groups will never see eye to eye, so they should form a temporary truce on this issue and unite, not that she should be speaking against the LGBT community, but rather that she seeks reform in what is appropriate to be teaching such young impressionable children, assuming that could be a valid interpretation of her protest. That is a cause both sides can agree on, unless they honestly do support teenage pregnancies and resulting illegitimate offspring. If this continues to be a war of homophobics versus LGBT and their sympathizers, that will accomplish nothing other than to make people angry at one another, it will not help Mrs. Knox keep her job. To quote Abraham Lincoln, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."
