Nearly a century ago, progressive socialists set out to take over America. One of the ways they planned to accomplish this was to change the face of the public school system. Led by American psychologist and socialist John Dewey, the foundations of the education system began to change.
John Dewey was instrumental in the philosophical changes that took place in the American education system starting back in the 1920s. Dewey and others believed that the school system was the perfect place to reshape the nation. Dewey often said that if you gave him your kids for seven hours a day that he could change the nation. He taught that the schools should be used to teach children basic socialist ideals and that after two to three generations, those ideals planted in the youth would present a culture in America that could lead to a socialist government.
Two generations after Dewey launched his revision of the American educational system, the nation saw the early socialist teachings in the nationwide protests in the 1960s. It was a generation that started rejecting the conservative Christian values of their parents. They succeeded in removing the Bible and prayer from the public schools. Known as the generation of peace and love, they actually promoted anti-American philosophies.
Three generations later, the products of the socialist public education system are holding political offices and successfully changing the American way of life. If you look at the majority of the people involved in the Occupy movements around the country, they are under the age of forty and I would bet that over ninety percent of them are products of the public schools.
They have not been taught the true history of America and what this country was built upon. They have been taught that capitalism, free enterprise and patriotism are actually harmful to our nation and the people. They don’t realize that these are the very things that made our nation great and provided the foundation for the lifestyles that they take for granted.
Instead of the being taught what America was, they are being taught what socialists want America to be. They’ve been taught to blame those that have worked hard and succeeded in business. They’ve been taught that instead of working hard to make themselves successful that they are entitled to certain things and that it is the responsibility of the government to take care of them.
The public school’s three generations of brainwashing is directly responsible for the uprising against the so-called one percent and the demand that they distribute their wealth and give it to those that have no descent work ethic to provide for themselves.
Congratulations Mr. Dewey, the Occupy Wall Street movement is a direct result of your efforts to brainwash several generations of Americans to usher in a truly socialistic society.

The minute the (Federal) Dept. of Education was started, the Socialist agenda was put into play. Each state should control their own Dept. of Educations & set the criteria for the state. The Federal Dept. of Ed. has changed the educational criteria- the real history of America isn't being taught, neither is Constitutional Law & the Constitution, the kids should be taught the Declearation of Independence & they should learn the Bill of Rights & learn that these are GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, not Govt. given rights. Because of the Federal Dept. of Ed. there is no longer a Pledge of Allegence to the Flag, nor morning prayer in the schools, & that also has contributed to the Socialist agenda. Until local schools are again controlled by each state & the Federal Govt. is out of our lives, we will never be free. Patriotism also needs to be taught!!!

May I add that a lot of the teachers have no clue that they are even teaching socialistic views. They follow a teachers schedule without doing the homework themselves "Well, its in the teachers guide/plan so I guess I must teach it". Only the students who had a strong foundation of American history at home were some of us able to read between the lines and escaped this charade of socialism bombardment going thru K-12.

This post is “right on”! John Dewey did have help though via welfare programs that were established out of desperation in the 30s for example. The fact is that our standard of living ( prosperity ) has been so high for so long that many have lost sight of what built it. Now, much of our prosperity has been taken for granted. We, the people must teach our children, that the government doesn’t take care of us; we take care of our government. Churches are there to guide and help us so we must take care of our churches. Families are the “building blocks” of our society; strong families mean a strong society. These United States is NOT a democracy, it never was. Our country is a REPUBLIC answerable to higher laws established by our creator. No man ( or woman ) is above the law. Therefore our sovereign, who is above the law, has to be our creator as we each understand HIM! Delegating the right authority to the right institution is long overdue. The first three words in our Constitution are “We, the people….” Let us all use that authority properly and wisely.
To a large degree, the problem with public education is the lack of enforcable discipline. If a school tries to enforce a dress code, the ACLU threatens a lawsuit, claiming it would be violating the child's First Amendment rights. If a student is insubordinate or tells a teacher to "go screw yourself", or worse, what happens, a one day suspension? Irate parents demanding to know what the teacher did to provoke "the alleged" insult? The teacher being called into the principal's office to be asked "can't we just get past this"? If a student physically assaults a teacher or another innocent student, does he go to jail, or get expelled? Most likely, no. The student gets 'counseling' instead of punishment. Bad kids are no longer called trouble makers, today's P.C. correct term is "troubled youth". In this way, we don't hurt the self-esteem of the criminal, we turn the tables making the criminal the victim.
A few years ago jobs were so plentiful that new hires would quit their job if the employer would not let them have a two week vacation after working only a few months. This same entitlement mind set is consistent with the "occupiers" goals. The Nation has passed the point of complacency and we are now in the entitlement mentality — the final stage before tyranny.
OWS is activly supported by unions and unions make no bones about their Socialist beliefs. Obama must be directing his union supporters to participate in OWS; he sure hasn't discouraged them from doing so.. We need an American leading America.

I guess if any of you had had an education or let your children have one you'd know that this is just plain not true. Public schools do not have socialist, god-hating, anti-America curricula. The good ones though do teach students to analyze all facts and think for themselves which does result in a wide array of thoughts and ideals and is the foundation for progression as a species and enlightenment in a society.
Being taught to think for oneself rather than being brainwashed and given only one set of opinions about how the world works and theories on spirituality causing more generations of close-minded, hate-mongering, terrified inhabitants of the Earth while learning how to read, write and spell, the maths and sciences, and history as recorded and interpreted by historians based on physical evidence but that which is open to new discoveries thus reevaluations sounds entirely more "christian" like and "American" than those pointing blame, turning in circles with their eyes shut, ears off and mouth open. Federal money has financed the transition of an American public education system, once a model for the world, into a platform for indoctrinating children and young adults to accept an anarchistic society ruled by a corrupt, totalitarian government. Symptomatic of this transition is the certainty that federal courts would immediately prevent any university from removing a Communist from its faculty for insisting that students advocate dictatorship in order to get a passing grade, but would immediately approve of a decision by a Marxist administration to bar veterans of the American armed forces from being hired to the faculty because they opposed Communism during the Cold War. The Secretary of Labor has long had the duty of cutting off federal funds to all educational institutions which discriminated against veterans in hiring, yet schools which openly discriminate against war veterans continue to receive millions of dollars in federal funds to support the anti-military and pro-dictatorship indoctrination of students. Those who are presently demonstrating against our corrupt government are fully justified in doing so. What is to fear is that their efforts at forcing a reform of our corrupt mix of government agencies and private conglomerates will be hijacked by advocates of totalitarian systems to create an oppressive, almighty super government, like those in Fascist and Communist dictatorships.
You like me have been misled. The "occupy" groups are a mish mash of various groups and ideas. Many do work and took off for the demonstrations they believe in. The few disrespectful ones & criminally minded ones have colored them all with a disreputable blanket which is unfair. Have to read people's opinions & observations carefully to discern what is truth by reading many different comments from various sources, and do not forget their personal biases infect what they write. This unfortunately takes a lot of time from things that need to be done.
Youdid not go back far enough. First the government had to take control of the schools. Horace Mann after his visit to Bismark's Germany, where the world's first government run schools were just beginning in the 1840's became enthralled with this concept. Bismark was dismayed at how poorly the independent German people were as soldiers, and vowed to create obedient citizens so the French could never defeat them again, like they did in the Franco-Prussian war. He envisioned state run schools who would turn out universal citizens with obedience to the state. Horace Mann brought this concept to America at the perfect time, when the Irish hoards and their Papist beliefs were threatening to turn America into a Papal state. (No really , look it up. The good Protestants of Boston knew that the Pope was the Anti-Christ1) And so the Massachusettes National Guard were called up to kidnap the Catholic kids and send them off to be indoctrinated into becoming citizens of the American state. This worked very well, creating a generation of cannon fodder for Lincoln's war. As with anything else the government takes over, once in government hands, whatever politically correct notion of the day ends up as the in vogue thing to do. The chickens, or sheeple, have come home to roost.
