Freedom-Loving Switzerland Is the EU’s Scapegoat

swiss-flagIn case you wondered who bears the responsibility for the EU’s epic failure to create the socialist paradise on earth, the Eurocrats have the answer for you: Switzerland. Its “harmful tax practices” are what destroyed the economic growth in the Eurozone, by attracting businesses and individual citizens of the Union to move their operations and money to the small mountain nation.

So the highlanders are now threatened by the mastodon bureaucracy in Brussels with “retaliation” if they do not comply with the internal rules of conduct of the European Union. The fact that Switzerland is not a member of the EU and has never agreed to any rules of conduct that the Brussels’s Empire has created doesn’t seem to bother them. Might makes right, is the operational principle of any empire, from ancient Egypt, through Genghis Khan, to Nazi Germany and the Soviet Empire; the EU is not an exception to the rule. After enslaving their own citizens to the tyrannical whims of the central power, the eurocrats are looking to other nations to enslave.

The “harmful tax practices” they are talking about do not seem to be harmful to the Swiss themselves: the Swiss economy is an island of stability in a sea of debt-slavery, unemployment, and negative economic growth. The Swiss GDP per capita remains at levels double that of the most prosperous members of the European Union while the inflation is negligible and the unemployment is as low as 3%. Switzerland, by constitution, has no central system of government taxation; taxes are decided on local level, by the cantons, and by direct referendums. With all the talk about “democracy” in Brussels, one would think they should be happy with that most democratic way of self-rule, where the voters decide directly everything, including their own taxes. Compared to that direct democracy, the European Union is far left, with only about 0.001% of the population – the politicians – making direct decisions about taxes, regulations, government, interference, etc. Under the absolutist monarchy of Louis XIV, France had more direct democracy than it does today.

We should pray and hope that the valiant Swiss will stand firm against the threat of the tyranny of Brussels as they stood firm against Hitler and his threats. Switzerland remains a symbol of hope for hundreds of millions of European citizens who want to escape from their governments’ oppression. European citizens themselves must use whatever vestiges of political representation they were left by the political machine of the European Union and force their politicians to get their hands off the brave highlanders; and, if given the chance, change their own political constitutions to follow the example of the Swiss.

And we in America must support the Swiss. And also learn from them, because Switzerland is nothing more but what America used to be in the past, when it had liberty and justice for all. If we don’t re-learn what we have forgotten, we may end up as another European Union, this side of the Atlantic.

Don't know if you know this, but our patriotic, Ameirca-first, State-appointed Senate, still largely intact despite the 17th Amendment of 1913 making in-rodes against liberty in the 1914 and 1916 elections, REJECTED Wilson's own League of Nations. A measure to end all wars.

Now, what is interesting is that it was the peaceful, make-talk-not-war, members of the League of Nations who went to war with each other, WITHOUT SURPRISE, the non-League nation of America. (America entered later after the war was well under way)

When it came time to create the United Nations, guess who was blamed for not preventing WW2 with the failure of the League of Nations? You guessed it — The United States.

what does this have to do with the article it simply amazes me when arogant posters use any article to post on unrelated subjects

      • http://thechristiansolution.com thechristiansolution

How is this unrelated? And how are you not arrogant to wrongly denounce me?

The EU is a super-state of the UN. One of the arguments used to talk Americans into joining the UN is that WW2 would have never happened if we had been a part of the League of Nations.

This article about Switzerland being the scapegoat for the failure of the EU, is an EXACT analogy to the US being the scapegoat for the failure of the League of Nations.

Sorry not WW2 but WW1 – "WW ONE would have never happened if we had been a part of the League of Nations"

          • http://thechristiansolution.com thechristiansolution

Geeeee, sorry again. I was right the first time. The League of nations was formed AFTER WW1 and did not stop WW2.

        • jjkrjw

Really? WWII would NOT have happened? Ridiculous.

I think that I will be one of the first, if we don't get a BIG change in our Government. I couldn't take four more years of this nincomPOOP!!!

As I understand it Switzerland issues firearms to all law abiding citizens to be kept at home. This is their military. They have only a small full time military, which is mostly to train the citizen army. Each citizen does a few days active duty each year. They protect their home land and don't get into other peoples business. This is how America started out, a milita type military and stay out of other peoples business. It's cost effective, and efficent. Switzerland isn't much bigger that Long Island NY, but they told Hitler to butt out. The violent crime rate is very low with all those guns in the hands of private citizens. Much lower than in the Euro type of socialist governments. We have enought natural resourses to be totally self sufficent lower umployment to about 3% and not have to depend on enemy countries for anything.

When America was formed many nations studied our Constitution and tried to emulate one for themselves based on its founding. The Swiss are a very smart people and realized the pros and cons of what they had and adjusted their way of government to give their citizens more freedom than anyother country in Europe. If the peace and freedom loving countries of this world do not stand up now then everyones way of life will change so drastically that the world will no longer even be recognized!

Actually Switzerland is now the only country in Europe I would travel to as its the only Real european country left. Going there one can see the beautiful alps ect and more importantly the Real swiss people and their heritage:} The rest of europe isn t worth the trip to because one will no longer see the British, Italian, French people ect and their heritages..now going there is pretty much the same as going to africa or the middle east…what a tragic loss of what was once europe.

With the generous help of Swiss, I ran an american study abroad program with the Swiss in a science field for several years. The Swiss were very helpful to make this an excellent study abroad program for american students. The bottom line was Einstein got his P.H.D at the university of Zuerich. Male Swiss citizens automatically are in the army, which is comparable to the National Guard in the U.S. The country as a whole is a neat place to visit. Various regions of their country have different languages, but English is common. Several times when my wife and I were eating and met a group of Swiss, most of them have visited in the U.S. While visiting swiss mountains. I would interact with a cluster of swiss motorcyclists at a rest stops, leather jackets and all zooming around the mountain, The motorcycle groups of swiss kids are not boozers. Just or having fun fun on their motor bikes.

    Greetings from Switzerland! (Grüetzi mittenand!)

I have lived here for 15 years, speak German, understand some Swiss-German (very different from so-called High-German), own a business here and train Swiss and Europeans in the workplace every day in abut 5 different industries. Gentlemen, I can therefore confidently say that if cornflakes were ignorance, you guys would be General Mills. Sheesh, what a load of processed hay.

That's because we lost our way. A HUGE portion of the American population has been 'indoctrinated' into socialist thinking. They don't call it socialist anymore. It's called being "progressive." But it's the same thing. Our government agencies are run by a bunch of socialist leftists and currently we have a BIG government Marxist in the White House. The toll taken by liberal Democrats and their RINO allies (That's Republicans In Name Only) over the years has put us in a bad situation, and THEY are the ones putting pressure on Switzerland. If true conservatives were running the country, you wouldn't experience much "pressure" except for cases of extraditing criminals.

  • SwissTex

Just to clarify, if you were to ask the Swiss which country puts the most pressure on their way of life, their way of doing business, or bullies them the most, the answer would be……the U.S.A.

The one issue I have with Switzerland is how it has acted as a no-man's land for hiding the ill-gotten gains of the dictators of the world. This dates back to at least Nazi Germany's raping of the Jews. Swiss banks accepted money pretty much without any concern as to where it came from. Case in point. Back in the mid-90s, a Swiss bank was under investigation for reportedly having knowlingly accepted and invested monies stolen from murdered Jews. Officials at the bank ordered an employee – a security officer – to destroy a large cache of documents. As he was doing so, he found what the documents contained. When he realized what was going on he contacted authorities. Swiss authorities didn't seem interested, so he reported his findings to the Israelis. The guy was fired by the bank. Bad enough, but what was worse is he had to actually leave Switzerland due to all the death threats he was receiving by fellow Swiss. Polls indicated the Swiss people weren't angry at the bank so much as they were at him for reporting the bank to the Israelis! So, while Switzerland has much to be admired for, it's not as clear as the driven snow either.

        Tom,
I appreciate your comment but the role of the Swiss banks was vastly exaggerated. A lot of accusations were made during the 90s but the independent Volcker commission found that most of it was not true. At the end the giant audit that cost $500 million found $17 million in dormant accounts linked to the holocaust, not billions like it was claimed.
The whistleblower you mention is Christoph Meili. Again, the guy was not persecuted. He did move to the US but he was unemployed, homeless, and eventually moved back to Switzerland. The records that he claimed were destroyed were in fact worthless real estate records. It was a PR disaster as the Swiss did not know how to deal with class action lawsuits and aggressive lawyers. But again, if you read the very thorough Volcker report, it clearly says that they could not find wrongdoing. They do mention the insensitivity of the banks dealing with the families but not fraud.
One of the star witness was G.Bear that claimed the Swiss had kept the money from her father (the case was used by the attorneys to demonstrate how the Swiss were perfidious). That money was eventually found 10 years later, not in Switzerland, but in a bank in Israel.

During WWII, a Nazi ambassador to Switzerland was trying to intimidate the Swiss ambassador. He made the statement that since the German Army outnumbered the Swiss Army 4 to one, it would be a simple matter to end Swiss neutrality.

I loved the Swiss ambassador's reply; "If you tried to invade Switzerland, then our soldiers would be required to fire FOUR SHOTS EACH!"
