The Stealing of America

StealingAmerica_Logo_croppedWhile channel surfing, I came across The House I Live In (1945), a ten-minute short film starring Frank Sinatra. Made to oppose anti-Semitism and racial prejudice at the end of World War II, it received an Honorary Academy Award and a special Golden Globe award in 1946. It reminded me of where I grew up.

While Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, my hometown, is not as ethnically diverse as a city like New York, it had a similar ethnic and cultural mix. I grew up with other Italians, Irish, Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian, and Jewish families. When I was in the seventh grade, I got to know several black students. The high school I attended was equally diverse. While it wasn’t perfect, and neither were we, it was, as they say, the best years of our lives.

What made our neighborhood work so well? While we did not all share the same ethnic or religious backgrounds, we did share a common moral background. The disintegration of neighborhoods, schools, and governments today is not a result of migrating ethnic groups. Rather, the disintegration is taking place through the importation of moral diversity. A generation or two ago, our ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity did not keep us apart because we shared the same moral values.

Today, multiculturalism is more than an appreciation of varied cultural expressions; it’s part of an overall philosophy of life. As it is being framed by social engineers, school curricula, and special interest groups, multiculturalism is intimately tied to ethics. An appreciation of diverse cultures is being used as a dodge to smuggle in aberrational moral standards that have the effect of diluting the impact of biblical Christianity. Multiculturalism is a type of moral polytheism: many moral law-orders based on many gods.

Polytheism (all gods are equal) leads to relativism (all moral codes are equal); relativism leads to humanism (man makes his own laws); and humanism leads to statism (the State best represents mankind as the pinnacle of power). As Rushdoony remarks,[1] “because an absolute law is denied, it means that the only universal law possible is an imperialistic law, a law imposed by force and having no validity other than the coercive imposition.”[2]

Generations ago, immigrants assimilated. They adopted a unified American culture while celebrating their ethnic and cultural heritage; and no one minded. Think of the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002). Today, there are groups who don’t want to be Americans. They want Americans to acquiesce to their ethnic and moral diversity. In fact, some of them want to impose their minority status on the rest of us while they remain excluded from the mainstream. For them, politics is the way to make us conform to their way of thinking.

In 2007, The House I Live In was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” It’s a peek into another era that is a distant memory for people my age and another world for the younger set.

Plot

Frank Sinatra, playing himself, takes a smoking break from a recording session. He sees a group of ten boys chasing another boy and intervenes. He asks them if they’re Nazis and explains a few things about America, blood banks, World War II, and teamwork. He then tells a story how following the bombing at Pearl Harbor there was a successful American attack on an enemy warship. It was carried out by a Christian and a Jew of different religions fighting for the same cause. His main points are that we are “all” Americans because we share a set of common ideals.

The boys take Sinatra’s words to heart as they walk down the alley. The boy being chased is welcomed into the group and shows his appreciation to Sinatra’s intervention and kind but sober words.

(cont.d) Some religions go off the deep end and have the attitude of "I am holier than thou." Religions have taught that blacks should sit in the back of the bus and are products of the devil! Jews have been killed and despised for centuries because of perverse religious beliefs. They also burned “witches” who were most likely just older women having a mid-life crisis. So much for the love they say they teach. The religious bigot’s new theme song is: homosexuals are an abomination in the eyes of the Lord”! At least they came up with a new tune! In all due respect, not all religions teach this latest hate to keep their congregations from seeing the hump on their own backs! They actually adhere to the words of Jesus: Condemn not that ye be not condemned or Love thy neighbor. For further inspiration, VISIT: end-irs.org

Socialism is an excuse to promise to give to the poor while robbing everyone of their future.
Ask yourself, is there a middle class in any socialistic or communist government?
It's redistribution of wealth from everyone to the top few. Wake the hell up America.

  • David in MA

    Diversity is not American.
Diversity is not the fire under the melting pot.
Diversity is the "Kool-Aid" of communist type groups who want to destroy the American dream.
    Diversity = Divide and Conqure.

      Well put, David!

David, if you've not read Huxley's "Brave New World," I urge you to do so. You may realize that homogeneity isn't necessarily such a good deal, either.

Citizen, Unless you are an American Indian, you too are just another ingredient in the melting pot of immigrants. My mother's side of the family immigrated to America before we became a Nation, my father's side in the Mid-1800s. Therefore, while I am a natural-born American, I (as do we all) still have roots from other Nations. That, my dear, is what makes us a melting pot. What makes us America is our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence. We are a unique Nation and if we want to stay that way, we all better wake up PDQ and realize that we are steadily becoming the NAU. Our Nation has been in decline since before you or I was ever born. But NOW we know what is going on behind the scenes and if we stand together as one Nation, we might have a chance to salvage our Heritage. It is not just YOUR County. It is OUR County and we will have to stand together if we are going to save her.

The quick old story about cooking a frog: You can't just throw him in boiling water – he'll jump out. BUT, put him in barely warm water, and SLOWLY TURN UP THE HEAT, until the water boils. Presto! One cooked frog/ Sound familiar? It should. It's happening here; NOW! The easiest way for wrong-doers to win, is for good people to do nothing. Sound familiar? It should. It's happening here NOW! 10+ years ago,, a book by Martin Gross::Political correctness. The end of sanity."(the end of free speech). Sound familiar? It should. It's happening NOW! Remove the dead-wood politicos in your states every two years until you find a keeper. Fight ILLEGAL immigration. My grfather was an immigrant, and became naturalized. For America's sake; GET RID OF OBAMA IN 2012! He's turning up the heat to diminished status for the U.S. quicker than we realize. I believe sanity will return, along with stability and a positive attitude. Obama offers NONE of this; He can't. He doesn't believe the same as the vast majority of my real fellow Americans. If immigrants wish to pull in this direction, you're welcome. Again, the dead-wood immigrants; buzz off! If we act together, Washington has to follow. NO. you say? ( See elections every two years, above.) We outnumber the bad guys, we can again have the kind of country that a commenter above wistfully referred to. Let's wake up! Happy New Year! If you think I'm dreaming; I feel sorry for you. You already lost!

Hey America! It's a nice day where I am. Hope your weather is good too. It's 2012, and a big political year. A pprovocative title to the article: "Stealing of America. Don't like the thought. Maybe if people realize no one can steal America without America's consent. Think about it. If we let the politicians get away with "stealing, they'll do it.. Vote them out, and we can have a "new'" New Year."

Multiculturalism is CRAP. It is Pure Marxist CRAP put into our Popular Culture in order to destroy America.

Polytheism (all gods are equal) leads to relativism (all moral codes are equal); relativism leads to humanism (man makes his own laws); and humanism leads to statism (the State best represents mankind as the pinnacle of power). As Rushdoony remarks,[1] “because an absolute law is denied, it means that the only universal law possible is an imperialistic law, a law imposed by force and having no validity other than the coercive imposition.”[2]

the first of the new year find me as did the last year defending america against the oppression of illegal immigration because it's very important part to wreaking havoc in and on america though the push of illegals in to this country and then ignoring the American citizens when he says enough then the government tells it's law enforcement they are racial profiling when all the time the illegals keep pouring in and the citizens told he is breaking up families by requesting deportation the government has no intentions of stopping the flow of illegals from coming to this country the government has already set aside your tax dollars to pay for it once he's here and now you are stamping on his civil rights you get no help from the hispanic population they sometime share the same house so to be accused of racial profiling is easy after all they all come from the same country in most cases but one thing is for certain he will fill the heat from our citizens and never be accepted.

I Believe that no matter what religion, or ethinet group you come from, If you push Americans, they will all push you back twice as much, will fight you ten times harder. We as a people will pull togather somehow, and take out the Trash.

A person can feel the pent-up frustration and uneasiness running through America. There's a way to help turn this around, a way for citizens to be heard. It's here and not used often enough. It's called TERM LIMITS. Use t every two years to turn away the leeches and phonies in Washington; use it until we get the people that will work FOR, not AGAINST us. We've got serious issues to take care of in the US. Buy the deaf politicians in DC a hearing aid: Vote them out~ Send them home!
