2012 has rolled around and the presidential election is heating up big time. At the moment, there are two big questions that most Americans seemed to be focused on:
1. Who will win the GOP nomination?
2. Can the GOP defeat Obama in November?
I’m sure we’d all like to know the answers to these questions without having to wait. But there’s another question that has been put before the American people and their response may surprise you.
US News and World Report has been featuring Washington Whispers for many years. In their latest poll, they asked the American people, ‘what event [Americans] feared the most in 2012?”
How would you answer that question?
By a 2-1 margin, the people responded “President Obama’s re-election.”
One combat veteran by the name of Les Rayburn summed up his reason for responding this way was,
“Most Americans are terrified. President Obama … he’s made it very clear that he’s out to destroy the United States. For a long time I was afraid that the average American really didn’t understand what his goal was. And luckily, the average American is seeing that, and we’re blessed that we are seeing it and the other people in the United States are seeing it.”
Other reasons for fearing Obama will get re-elected had to do with the declining economy, unemployment, Obamacare and the threat of higher taxes.
Personally, I fear that if Obama gets re-elected that it will mean the end to democracy in America. 2012 could well be the last free election for years to come. Like Rayburn says, Obama is out to destroy America and everything he has done in the past three years is setting the stage for just that.
