Court Upholds Firing of CDC Counselor for Her Stand on Christianity

walden28948-190x125Once again folks we see the liberal anti-Christian judicial system strip a Christian of their First Amendment right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech.

Center for Disease Control and Prevention counselor Marcia Walden was approached by a fellow employee who sought counseling concerning a same-sex relationship.  Rather than getting in trouble for interjecting her strong Christian faith, Walden followed accepted procedure of referring the client to another counselor.  Shortly after that, Walden was removed from her position.

The case went before the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.  In the ruling passed down, the court said they recognized Walden’s “sincerely held religious beliefs prohibit her from encouraging same-sex relationships through counseling.”  However, they ruled that the evidence provided was sufficient to prove her claim that she was removed because of her Christian beliefs.

Attorney Bryon Babione from the Alliance Defense Fund argued in court that Walden had been fired because she stood up for her Christian faith.  After the 11th Circuit Court’s ruling, he said,

“The right to refer is a pervasive right in counseling, and she followed that, but she was nevertheless laid off for doing that.  They said it was inappropriate that she told the client that she had personal beliefs which would not allow her to effectively counsel that particular client.

“The court got it wrong because a counselor who is a Christian shouldn’t lose her job for upholding the highest professional standards.  It is unlawful to punish a Christian for abiding by her faith, particularly when she made every effort to accommodate the interests of a potential client.”

He then summed up the court’s decision saying that it is acceptable for someone to refuse to counsel another person because of the counselor’s strong religious beliefs, but it is also okay for the counselor’s employer to terminate them for doing so without violating their First Amendment rights.

I keep asking the question if the courts would have made the same ruling had the CDC counselor been a Muslim, but then I seriously doubt that if she had that she would not have been fired.  Christians are the only people that can be treated this way and have their First Amendment rights violated because our country is no longer a Christian nation.  We are run by atheists, Marxists and Muslims while Christians are becoming the lowest class of citizen whose rights no longer mean anything.

It has been shown tragically of late that you can only hold opinions and values if they conform to the new 'norm'. From a California IG who had the value that breaking the law was wrong to people holding that homosexuality is wrong is no longer accepted. Having the value that breaking the law to get what the administration wants (fast and furious) to preeching that homosexuality is good is ok. If you are in doubt consult the mind police, sig heil.

Go ahead and beat us over the head with the radical homosexual agenda. I get less an less tolerant every time.

The DEMs might have been wise to take a look at the Pew Research Center study, before they decided to launch their attack on faith, in America. Christians and Jews … of all different stripes … are continuing a major shift towards the Republican Party. The net shift for the GOP is +4%, and against the DEMs is -3%, and this was only in the year 2011. This continues a trend that has been developing since 2009. The polls of the moment don't really mean that much, but the Pew Study is of 27 thousand people, over an entire year.

The net result of the Pew study is that … if Obama received exactly the same vote he received in 2008 (and he won't) … he would lose the election by 3 points. Party identification is harder to break into than support for individual candidates.

The CDC has been full of it for decades. Why did she even work there?
