In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

Andrew-Breitbart-1969-2012Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and—famously—I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands—who knows?—of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us.

There was a study of people over 95, who were asked "if you could live your life over, what would you do differently?"
Their top answers; Reflect more, Risk more, Do more things that will live on after I am dead.

I want to thank Andrew for his decision to do just that. He thought about where we are at, he stepped up and took risks to share what he thought was important, and he did something that will live on, he informed and inspired others.

Maybe it's time for me, or maybe you, to step up and do the same. Perhaps we would sleep sounder, too, knowing that God put us here for a purpose, and that we are walking in that purpose.

Peter, I agree with you. However, people who live past 95 do so exactly because they didn’t reflect more, risk more, or do more that would live on afte they are gone. I admire Andrew, and I believe in taking risks and stands, but he’s dead, isn’t he?

Andrew broke ground and paved the way for others to follow, eventually to lead, as he did.  He will be missed for the unique manner in which he presented the facts regarding corruption, lies, and deceit at the government level of our great nation. I pray someone picks up Andrews torch and carries it to the game….God rest his mighty soul. May the good Lord grace his family, wife, and children with everything good in life.  They must know he was one of a kind and the best one at that!   Andrew is a most unforgettable character that will be missed.  One consolation is that he is watching us now.  We need to step up, not to fill his shoes as he walked alone; but to carry his passion to bring America back to the Constitution, and clean out the government of greed and elitism.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Only his family could miss a guy like that.

    • Bunny

and that is because he wanted to protect this country from the fraud and abuse that goes on?

ONLY his family? … Seriously? Accepting your implication or premise, then FAR LESS should be the number of those people who will miss the  likes of the purveyors at the HuffPo, Moveon.org, Media Matters, Salon.com, MSNBC — including even Joe Scarborough, CBS, ABC — excluding, perhaps, George  Will, CURRENT TV, CNN, the LA Times, the NY Times,  ad infinitum ad nauseum

And to think he used to be a liberal leftist.  I guess he came around to see how pathetic the libertards are and their anti-American, political correct socialist, Marxist plans for America to succumb to Europe’s mediocrity.  I think you would find a huge majority of people will miss him and to think I was a brain dead Democrat for 32 years until I decided to research that these corrupt scum sucking socialists-statists are not of my grandparents and parents era but a posse of rich elitists who only care about their own political skins, pensions and agenda.  Get some smelling salts you might come around someday zombie and realize the community organizer is a puppet for an agenda all their own.  You know the 1%.

I recently read an article that claimed that some shocking revelation about maobama was going to come from Breitbarts cohorts. I wonder if maobama had anything to do with his death?

I have as much faith in the “suicide” of Vincent Foster as I do in the natural death of Andrew Breitbart.

Is his death a warning to those who would speak out or investigate the administration??   No wonder so many so called investigative reporters won’t go near the story of the century.
