How Effective Will the Supercommittee Be?

super-committee3.gi.topPart of the debt plan agreement was the formation of a supercommittee that is suppose to work together to find ways to cut $1.5T from the federal deficit. The committee is made up of 3 House Democrats, 3 House Republicans, 3 Senate Democrats and 3 Senate Republicans.

Each party’s House and Senate leaders have selected their 3 members to serve on the supercommittee. But to no one’s surprise, those picked by their party leaders have proven that they are unwilling to compromise or negotiate with the other side. Some were involved in previous stalled talks in the past. Noticingly missing from the panel are the Gang of Six that were involved in the compromised debt plan that was approved by both the House and Senate

Robert Bixby, executive director of the Concord Coalition, a group that advocates for fiscal responsibility and getting the federal budget in order:

“These people must be sick of each other. They’ve been disagreeing with each other for a long time.”

For example, the six Democrats have all advocated tax increases as a means of increasing government revenue while the six Republicans have all been against raising taxes.

So the big question is – which side will eventually give in to the other? Who will become the weak link in their party’s side and give in to compromise? Only time will tell and in the mean time, Obama still has the $2.4T blank check that Congress gave him when they raised the debt ceiling.

I know! Get rid of the Reagan-and GWBush-era tax cuts! They called it the "Trickle-Down Theory", like we're supposed to eat the left-over scraps from some rich "elites", and we fell for it! Let the rich elite get off easy and hoard all their money, while the middle class is bled dry getting taxed up the asses to pay for the social programs that support the lowest income so they can have 10 kids and skim off welfare forever. They also got rid of tariffs that would support the budget by taxing imports that are made by sweatshop labor for 10 cents an hour, cutting prices and forcing our factories to relocate and putting millions of people, hard working AMERICANS out of work. You like those $15 sneakers at Wal-Mart? Well your kid who can't find a job sure doesn't appreciate 'em!

This comittee is the first move in Congress' giving up it's obligations and becoming a non-entity. What will it be next ? a comittee of 6, and then one of 3 and how then how much easier will it be to become 1 ? , either a King, despot ot dictator, take your choice.

    From Iliana WND

Last month, Putin raged over the second plague of quantitative easing, QE2, unleashed by the Federal Reserve Bank, lambasting the Unites States for acting "as if they were 'hooligans' because they 'flood' the entire world with dollars. … They start the money printing presses and throw dollars throughout the world in order to solve their immediate responsibilities. They say monopolies are bad but only if they are foreign – their monopolies are perfect. So they use their monopoly to print money until the whole world is flooded."

This once-avowed communist congratulated his fellow Russians for not being like the Americans: "Good for us that we do not print reserve money."

    Putin is right.

And, you're likelier to get the goods on your government from the Russian prime minister than from the bobbleheads who help inflate the Beltway bubble. The cable commentariat is a cog in the sprawling American comitatus. They all feed off Rome.

As inevitably as water whirls down a plug hole, the U.S. economy will worsen. Be worried: The proof is in the Putin.

The supercommittee is supposed to become deadlocked. That way the cuts will occur automatically and no one will get individually blamed. Simply a way to avoid being the bad guy.

Here is where they have led us to date – what makes us think these 12 will fix anything?

The only thing super about this committee is that they superbly stink to the high heaven. Nothing is getting or will get accomplished except for wasting more time so O'bama's political machine can slowly grind out more of their socialistic ideas, which will eventually be passed through executive orders by O'bama himself. I guarantee you there is a back door somewhere in this committee that will sneak in more liberal bills and none will be blamed except tea partiers and republican's. You can only do the shell game so many times, no matter how many shells you put on the table before the American people have awakend and they have awakend. It's just that our leaders are sleep walking and don't even know it. They will when they wake up after 2012 and find themselves out on the streets looking in.

The spineless Republican leadership sold us all out and got suckered into a bad bet when they should have called their bluff. NoW they have run the table again and skipped with 2.4 trillion and we will get nada once again. We should replace all Republicans we can with T Party candidates and clean house of the old school bunch who are afraid of the Liberals and have been for decades. Michele Bachmann has more balls than all of them.
