Can I Tell This Story and Not be Racist?

I’ve been thinking a lot about race lately. There’s no way to escape the topic since nearly everybody and his brother are accusing conservatives of being racists.

Eric Holder said that Americans are cowards when it comes to race. Maybe we are. No one likes to be called a racist. I’m not a coward. I want to talk about race since many black neighborhoods and schools are disintegrating. Too many young blacks have succumbed to an ingrown black culture that is not healthy. Cultural integrity can be a good thing, but not when it’s manufactured in the name of a blame-game.

Blacks are going to have to save themselves. The place to start is where the disintegration is most visible.

Consider these statistics from The New Century Foundation’s The Color of Crime (2005), an American report on the differences in crime rates by race. It found the following:

  • Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
  • Hispanics commit violent crimes at roughly three times the white rate.
  • Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.
  • Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.
  • Blacks are 2.25 times more likely to commit officially-designated hate crimes against whites than vice versa.
  • Only 10 percent of youth gang members are white.
  • Hispanics are 19 times more likely than whites to be members of youth gangs. Blacks are 15 times more likely, and Asians are nine times more likely.
  • Blacks are seven times more likely to be in prison than whites. Hispanics are three times more likely.

As difficult as blacks had it during the days of segregation, a distinctly black culture developed even in the prevalence of racist attitudes and restrictive laws. We forget, or have never been told, that Washington, D.C., from 1920 to 1960, “was a financial, spiritual, and cultural stronghold. Because Washington was a segregated city, blacks simply created their own metropolis. . . . The first black bank, the Industrial Savings Bank, was started here.” While “the black population of New York’s Harlem inherited many of its buildings from previous white owners, . . . many of the buildings in Shaw were paid for by black businessmen and built by black hands.”1

Families were intact, the divorce and unwed mother rates were no different from that of white communities.

Take a look photographs of the 1963 March on Washington led by Martin Luther King, Jr. Notice how everyone is dressed. Most of the men are wearing suits and ties. Many of the women are wearing hats, as are the men. There is a dignity about the crowd.

Blacks are not helped by the continued claim that all problems for them are racial. Some are, but most aren’t. Black on black crime is not the fault of white people. Sky-high out-of-wedlock births are not the fault of whites. High dropout rates among blacks are not the fault of whites. The solution is not to cry “racism” and blame everything on whites or hundreds of years of oppression. Blacks won’t find their problems solved by appealing to the State.

Welfare programs have done a lot to keep black families down by subsidizing family fragmentation and fostering multi-generational dependency. Black problems aren’t solved by naming streets after Martin Luther King, Jr. The same can be said for the King Holiday and Black History Month. These are liberal crumbs to appease the black community, but have any of these actions helped blacks?

Guilt-ridden whites vote for the advocates of government dependency, and anyone who does not will be labeled — you guessed it — a “racist.” It’s a cover for the bill of goods that so-called black leaders sold to their people in the name of “social justice.”

Subsidies have led to the immobility of the poor, the breakup of the black family, and dependency on government programs. My message to blacks: Do the right thing and work to fix it. Cast aside those who have been leading down the real road to recovery. Will the task be hard? Herculean. Are there people who will pitch in to help? Lots! But we won't do it if the answer is going to be more government, guilt, and charges of 'racism' every time you don't like what's being offered as real solutions.

Blacks of America unite . . . the only thing you have to lose are your chains of dependency and victimhood.

So true about how much more dignity blacks seem to have in old pictures before and leading up to the civil rights movement. Even a slave can have dignity if he accepts his lot in life with a spirit of Christ-like joy and humility. (Ephesians 6:5)

  • Screeminmeeme

Excellent article and analysis of the race problem and its solution. Thanks.

  • mchl

I taught in the public schools for many years and in urban areas where so many of my talented and imaginative students were black. Sad to say, they seldom excelled because they did not what to be perceived as "ACTING WHITE" . More informative articles like this need to be out there in the main stream media --- factual and unafraid and then maybe the black population will begin to heal itself.

    • debtom

Obama decided he didn't want to be perceived as white either according to his books! So now that he lives in OUR White House, he just messes up the rest of the country!

      • Wolfman Thomas

call it what it is The Black House

    • ginger

But is it is fine for black women to want "white" hair...see a contradiction? They want to be white but not "act" white...the grass is always greener..until you are on the other side and see that to have a decent life, one must WORK for it.

    • Fenderman52

Look at the role models black kids have today. Drunken, amoral drugged out jocks and rappers. "Duh, I kin put a ball in a hole...gimmee fifty million dollars!" I'll bet not one black kid even knows who Thomas Sowell or Ellis Washington is, let alone having ever read any of their works.

  • WFR

A good well balanced article. Many white people feel this way and are afraid to relay this message to their black friends. We fee uncomfortable talking about race relations because, you guessed it.. when we bring it up we are told we are "Racists"

  • James White

What an excellent job of walking the razor's edge, to point out the truth. "In an age of universal deception, the speaking of truth becomes a revolutionary act." (George Orwell.) May the discussion continue.

  • Scott Wilson

So, you're upset over claims of racism, then the first item you reference is a 2005 study that ignores racially divided socioeconomic conditions and unjust judicial procedures in compiling data, which was created by a white supremacist organization run by a far-right journalist who espouses voluntary segregation as a means towards "racial homogeneity." Yeah, that ought to stop those racism claims dead in their tracks.

    • KC

      • Scott Wilson

Why do I have to have a solution to the world's problems just because I say your interpretation of it is incorrect? Why don't go ahead with your solution first, and tell me how that's working out for you.

    • allen

Personally, I don't care if someone calls me a racist. If making a statement of fact makes me a racist then so be it. I am a racist. When you artificially suppress the truth for the sake of political correctness you create racial tension and disharmony, the opposite of what you are trying to prevent.

      • allen

I meant to say **When you artificially suppress the truth for the sake of political
correctness you create racial tension and disharmony, exactly
what you are trying to prevent.**

        • Joan Ventura

I meant so say the opposite of what you said when you reiterated what you said the 2nd time after saying what you first said so what I said is realyl not what you meant to say

    • Steven Lemon

And YOU ignore all the historical evidence this article provides just so you can maintain that old crutch of racism, socioeconomic discrimination and judicial prejudice.

Rant and rail about how the system treats you but do nothing to help change or overcome it.
Yeah, that ought to uplift the Black community real good and real soon.

      • Joan Ventura

the solution is easy build more jails, hire more police, enforce the law and deport all the lawyers.

      • Scott Wilson

Again, who's ranting? I stated a specific fact, that the study cited in this article is statistically unsound and funded by a racist organization. Instead of whining that I'm ranting and raving, how about trying to prove my statement false?

    • hunter

Are these crime stats not to be believed because they were reported by a racist organization, or are they not to be believed because socialist liberals in the press refuse to report them? What has happened to blacks & hispanics in America is the same thing that has happened to whites in the USSR. Socialism destroys the human character and leads to poverty of the serfs of all colors & untold riches for the ruling class, & in this country, wealth to the race baiters.

      • Scott Wilson

No, they aren't to be believed because other organizations that create similar reports pointed out that this particular one ignored socioeconomic status as a contributing factor to the resulting numbers. It's called doing your research.

    • Sandi

Scott Wilson: You are paranoid and a big part of the problem!! Shame on you. How can we ever hope to solve a problem if we can't even discuss it rationally? Going off on a tangent isn't part of the solution, it's part of the problem.

      • Scott Wilson

Okay. I point out that the report cited in this article about racism is statistically unsound and was funded by a racist organization. Then DJ goes on a paragraph long rant about how Asians are better than Blacks and Liberals are to blame for single black families, and somehow I'M the one that went of on a tangent? Please, elaborate.

    • strayne

Wilson - you are proof of the real problem.

      • Scott Wilson

Do tell, Strayne. How am I oppressing the black race by pointing out the false and racist origins of a report about black crime? In your own time.

    • Charles

I am interested in hearing your thoughts and ideas on how to end "racism". Instead of just proclaiming this wrong, set forth your ideas. IWhat are the racially divided "socioeconomic conditions" ? Who exactly was it that caused them and who is it that keeps them going?
What are the unjust judicial procedures? If you are black when you commit the crime then you are going to be black when you are brought to trial. There are people of all colors who may get wrongly of a crime, but it is not just the blacks and it is not by the number that makes up the statistics.
What exactly was started by a white supremacist organization? Who is the "far right" journalist who runs it?

      • Scott Wilson

You can't end "Racism." It isn't a disease or something quantifiable, it is an attitude based on personal and social biases and preconceptions, occasionally based partially in some misunderstood truth or fact, usually based on anecdotal experiences and programmed world view. We can try to reduce it by ceasing practices that help it to proliferate, however, one among them being the feigned outrage at so-called "reverse-racism" and using it as an excuse to regurgitate racist propaganda in an effort to alleviate any perceived attempt to make the individual feel "guilty" or "responsible" for past wrongs they were not a part of yet still passively defend. That would be a nice start.

    • dj

This article is aimed at FIXING the problems, not rehashing past wrongs and mistakes. No whites today are responsible for what whites may have done 150-200 years ago. You can blame your parents for not earning a million dollars a year and giving you a big trust fund til the cows come home, but the only fix for your financial problems today, if you're an adult, is to get out there and work hard, save money, and invest wisely. Likewise, the only fix for free, adult blacks today is to look honestly at their lives, see what needs fixing, and make the effort to work hard at making changes where needed, and use the incredible opportunities offered in our country. Why is it that Asians come to America with next to nothing, yet end up owning their own businesses and kicking our butts in school, yet some blacks who are born in this country can't seem to make it without welfare? Hard work and positive attitude. Something we can ALL use more of! I know you can't help being a liberal after growing up in the public school system, but even a little common sense should tell you that if we have some black CEOs and drs., and some blacks on welfare, that being black isn't the problem, it's the welfare culture that destroys families so that dads aren't around to teach their sons.

  • Mary

The civil rights movement destroyed black independence and the black infrastructure. Before civil rights it seems as if blacks, in general, were much better off before and during the time of the civil rights movement. For the most part, there was no major prevalence of out-of-wedlock children, and deadbeat dads. Generally speaking, there were two-parent households; black children weren't causing problems in school; parents took an active role in their child's education; and black people took pride in their appearance.
Why is it "racist" to talk about it? The answer is simple. Because the progressive libs have made it so that no one brings up the comparison's of past and present. By inserting racism into the equation no one will dare even discuss it as screaming "racist" is the way to stop any intelligent discussion on the matter.
By not discussing it, the progressive libs can keep the plantation mentality alive where black is dependent on the system for his sustenance instead of independence.
The very best thing our society can do is get rid of the "wall of political correctness" so that intelligent folks both black and white can discuss the ills of society and how to best correct them.
Bottom line socialism of the past 50 years has destroyed our society.

    • allen

      Well said.

      • Richard

Wrong Mary, it wasn't the Civil Rights movement that destroyed the black community, it was the Great Society legislation passed by the Democrats during the Johnson Administration. I think the racist Democrats saw this as a way to put it to the Civil Rights movement, knowing full well that it would destroy the black community.

Evelyn - you can disagree all you want. That does not change God's plan for the human race. And you and all other races on this earth are human. God has one plan for everyone. You accept His plan in His terms or you will be SEPARATED from Him in eternity. You would be much better off if you were more concerned about being separated from God rather than blacks.

Separation from what? If you mean separation of the races then you should know it was never ever meant to be that way. If you try to quote the Bible in any way shape or form to support racial separation I can promise a battle. You will note that Jesus had ancestors of differing racial backgrounds including some with darker skin.

        • Sandra Schools

You are absolutely right Evelyn. No where in the word of God do you get even a hint of such a disgusting scene as man's conceived idea of racial separation. It is right out of the pit of hell. God is no respecter of persons. We are created by Him for His glory. God is only a respecter of the hearts of individuals. We are all created with hearts that need to repent of the evil within us, which includes this pride and arrogance of thinking that what is on the outside of us merits anything special or requires something restrictive. The problem does not lie on the outside of anyone.

        • Fenderman52

Then why did God put blacks and whites on different continents with huge oceans between them? Two societies as different as blacks and whites will never be happy living together.

        • Jack

Abraham Lincoln said as much. While he sympathized with the "colonialist" movement supported by James Monroe and others to relocate the black population, he thought that the logistics of transporting a vast number of people to Africa (Liberia and Sierra Leone) was too formitable a task. He was trying to found a black colony in Central America -- the modern-day country of Belize (formerly British Honduras) would be my best guess, with a portion of Nicaragua another possibility.
So, was John Wilkes Booth a good guy or a bad guy? He stopped Lincoln from putting Phase Two of his program into action, that of freeing the slaves, and relocating them to another country.

        • emerutil

Booth had the misguided desire for revenge. He was very upset over the Civil War's outcome, and blamed it all on Lincoln. He was probably unaware of Lincoln's plan for the blacks.

        • Ardnas

Evelyn, God never separated blacks and whites. The pigment of ones skin is a mystery to me but not to God. God looks on the heart of a person and not the outward appearance. So who am I to look on a persons outward color and say that I do not want them around me. It is what is in a persons heart that is more important. Yes, we brought blacks to North America. that was wrong in the way it was done. You should be more concerned about your separation from God. That has eternal consequences that you apparently are not aware of. God is your creator and will decide your destiny. You had better find out what He expects from you while on this earth. I do not find in His word one of the things He expects is for you to segregate yourself from a part of the human race He created and loves just as much as He love you.

    • DrZarkov99

I wouldn't blame the deterioration of black society on the civil rights movement. Read MLK's famous "I have a dream" speech. He wanted an end to distinction by color. It was Lyndon Baines Johnson and his obscene "Great Society" that set out to buy black support for the Democrat party, realizing that their votes would otherwise go to the Republicans, who were the supporters of civil rights. The massive handouts, with their encouragement of single parenthood and illegitimate births, served to break up the black nuclear family. What black society should be ashamed of is that instead of following through on MLK's dream, they let themselves be bought.

      • ajincali

Absolutely correct! LBJ has often been credited with saying when he signed that bill into law, "this will keep the ni&&ers voting Democratic for the next 200 years!" Because welfare is not a hand-up, it is a hand-out that is designed to lift recipients to just about the "Misery Line" and it insures they will remain there, by offering just enough money to dissaude the unskilled from finding entry level jobs, because they would loose their meager benefits..
The "leadership" of the black community is bent on creating, maximizing and prioritizing the difference between the races. Instead of trying to build bridges to the future in a post racial world, they (the leadership of the black community) only wish to look backwards at burned bridges. Their entire power base is defined by the Black Communities self segregation.
Having spent a decade teaching in Harlem and the South Bronx, I am convinced that to participate in the Entitlement system on a lifelong basis is to sacrifice all forms of self-respect. This is why killing in the inner city is so rampant, how can one youth have empathy or compassion for another, when they have no love or respect for themselves? The entitlement system literally "breeds" it out them by encouraging factured families, and this was clearly by design.
When talking about self-respect and creating a better world for the Black community, I prefer to quote Malcom X who said "You cannot give a man that which he will not give himself."

        • JIMBYONLY

You are correct. let us add to the list the new race baiters. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the like. They make vast amounts of money keeping the racial divide open. They do not want their black followers to get out of the swamp!

I have said it before and I will say it again. A Republican freed the
slaves and the Democrats have been trying to put them back in chains
ever since. The chains are the chains of dependance for sustenance. Many
have seen through this ruse but others believe they have to vote
          Democrat to live.

        • catman

While working in the Federal Prison System, I often heard the remark "you/ they disrespected me". Of course it was always from a black inmate, especially towards a white inmate or a staff member. When they came before the trial board within the prison, I would tell them this, "first, you have to respect yourself before you can expect others to respect you. Respect is earned, not granted. Just because you are black does not automatically gain you the respect of others". Of course they did not like that answer and I always got a look or a comment of insolence from the inmate. That usually earned him another few weeks in solitary. Attitude adjustment!! Did it work?
Sometimes. But, when they did have an attitude adjustment and started to respect themselves and others, they found out they earned more respect from others.

      • Gerry from TEXAS

I'm not buying this. Blame it on LBJ. No, blame it on oneself. If you are wooed by the devil then you are at fault. The snake didn't make Eve take a bight of the apple, she did it of her own free will because she was mentally weak and couldn't see the lie. If one wants to take the easy way out, then you can't blame it on someone else. You have to take the blame for not wanting to work. There is no easy way to success. It takes hard work, not a hand out. So don't blame anyone but yourself for failure.

        • Bryan

Although I agree with your point about personal responsibility, I would caution against characterizing Eve as "mentally weak", for she had the wisdom and spiritual maturity to recognize that God's command to "multiply and replenish the earth" was greater than the charge to not partake of the forbidden fruit.

You must have stopped reading before you got to Genesis 5...there were other children - sons and daughters - fathered by Adam, then by his son Seth, and by his son Enosh, and by his son Kenan, and so on, and so on. Thirty two verses in chapter 5 of did you miss that many verses??? Obviously siblings procreated with siblings...whether or not it was called "incest" at that time, I can't address. • Larry

God allowed incest to occur up to a certain point in order for there to be a sufficient number in the gene pool that incest was no longer needed. Adam and Eve had more children than what is recorded in the bible for this to occur; i.e.they had daughters who married their brothers in order to procreate and add to the gene pool

        • letitsnow1

adam and eve are related to all of us.

        • Wayne

Incest wasn't "defined" until the law of Moses went into effect. The patriarchs had multiple wives, yet were not condemned for it, nevertheless Jesus held fidelity in marriage to high esteem saying concerning divorce 'from the beginning it was not so" (meaning obviously Adam & Eve). You are wrong about no mention of sisters, you missed a singular verse. Genesis 5:4 " After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters."

        • Sharon Jones Jeanguenat

When Cain had to leave the garden, he had children. Where his wife came from, Bible doesn't tell us. I've always assumed that by then God had created other people. And, since He tells us that incest is wrong in the NEW Testament, I would assume it was wrong in the OLD one too. He was NOT happy with Abraham having a son by Hagar, & THAT is where ALL of Israel's modern day enemies came from. Descendents of Ismael, & later added to from Esau's descendents. There was NEVER a 'Palestinian Arab'. It's just a made up race, made up by Arabs. When that area was called Palestine, it was JEWISH owned by then. There WAS a Philistine race, which was a warrior race, & always at enmity with Israel, but no Palestinian.

        • Mellie Torre

perhaps not - if we were so NEW there were no others - God did say to go forth and multiply...?

        • Mellie Torre

SHADDAP! - that is NOT the discussion here.

        • Larry

That is correct; however since Adam was the representative of mankind he was responsible for Eve who was created after Adam

        • Mellie Torre

        • Sharon Jones Jeanguenat

It was given to Adam. However, EVE knew it too, because when the snake asked her, she told him what had been said about the fruit. She was just as guilty as Adam. In fact, when Adam told God that 'the woman YOU gave me, gave to me & I ate it'. In other words, HE blamed GOD! And, that right there is the problem. Everybody wants to blame everybody else. God intended for His Church to care for the elderly, the widows, the fatherless, etc, & not the government. When the DEMOCRAT government started the welfare system, plus the affirmative action program, is when all the problems began. People would tell blacks, 'this is YOUR money, the government intended it for YOU.' Just as these days, in our local food stamp office, they have signs, in English AND Spanish, asking people if they filed for the earned income credit. The sign says 'This is YOUR money'. NO IT"S NOT. It's taxpayer money that was paid in by taxpayers who don't qualify for that credit. When a person pays in $130 in income taxes in 1 year, but gets back a refund of about $3000, how is that THEIR money? They OBVIOUSLY didn't pay it in. When people are told they're 'entitled' to something, even if they didn't actually earn it, most people are not going to turn it down. I am drawing SS, plus I also get some food stamps, but since I've worked for 46 years of my life, paying into the SS, federal taxes, medicare tax, etc. I don't feel it's a handout. I would rather be able to work & make a DECENT living, than to try to live on $800 a month. Due to some health issues, at this time, I'm not able to work, except maybe once in a while, I fill in at the job that I had before retiring, but that doesn't happen a lot, unless someone is unable to work for some reason. Until people of ALL races wake up & stop blaming each other for the problems, & try to work with each other, & try to fix things, it's not going to change.

        • Mellie Torre

People should work as they are able - for as long as they are able...period.

        • Linda Sue

You said that very well Sharon Jones, thank you.

        • Kittyhane

What really ticks me off is seeing an illegal on TV carrying a sign that says "We're here to STAY' you can't make us go. We want s/s, health care,a house and welfare to eat. NEVER a word saying'give me a job' roflmao

        • Sisa2

so he musta told her I'm sure. God threw them both out. So she was sinning, too.

        • nmleon

You are correct as far as the individual welfare recipient is concerned, but it is appropriate to blame LBJ for creating the system that allows the lazy to keep from working and that encourages out of wedlock births by giving money to girls who have babies as long as no man is around.

        • scott

its the blacks who make that choice,no one else to blame but themselves quit with the liberal excuse bullshit, your part of the problem

        • Leon Rogers

What kind of drivel are you spouting? I lay blame at LBJ's feet and you call me a liberal??
Let me see if I can dumb this down to your level.
Whenever you subsidize something you will get more of it, whether it's more home ownership because of the mortgage deduction or government dependency because of liberal social policies (starting with LBJ).
Before those social programs people had to work. Now the lazy people can sit on their butts, and the welfare system encourages them and and the fence sitters to be dependant on the government.
Then there's the daughters of these leeches who grow up thinking the welfare life style is normal. That's led to the current situation where we have families that have been sucking the public teat for 5 generations.
          Get it now?

        • Kittyhane

also with yoamma letting all the illegals in, WE now have to pay their share for health insurance and food stamps and education. My husband and I worked our butts off to pay for our own kids education. But I guess that's a thing of the past. Hard work and jpjride.

        • daveG

I agree with you on the generations of welfare, but I don't hold the last 3 generations of welfare recipents totally responsible because that's all they've ever known. We need more people like Bill Cosby who keeps telling the blacks that they need to quit blaming "whitey", quit taking welfare and food stamps and get off their butts and go to work. One of the things we need to do is pass a law that in order to receive food stamps and welfare, a person (the ones who are healthy and able) has to show up for work 5 days a week (pick up trash along the highway, cut grass, clean up abandoned lots, etc. These are just a few of the things that need to be done. There's plenty to do. This way, it would not be a hand-out. They would be earning an income. DON'T SHOW UP FOR WORK, YOU DON'T RECEIVE YOUR PAY!! Now, I'm sure that this will be seen as "racist" by the Dems who want to stay with the current HANDOUT system which assures them votes to keep them in office. SCUM!!

        • Mike Tanco

BS is exactly what it is. We have 7 generations of welfare families today and Obama's redistribution of wealth will just exacerbate the problem. The Dems want the Blacks to stay on the plantation so to speak so they will be obligated to their party. It's time for change alright. Let's get the people working and off of welfare. While were doing that let's cut out foreign aid to countries that don't have loyalty to us and that don't support a democratic style of government. And we can't allow illegal immigrants to continue to poor into our country. Mike Tanco

        • Linda

I agree. Too many receive our money and then turn around and kill us or spit on us. Not a grateful heart in the group - oh, maybe a couple here and there.

The people who really need help have to fight to get it. I'm thinking of the elderly and disabled.

        • letitsnow1

          right on!

        • Tired of This

You are right. The elite's have figured out that if they can put enough people
on the government dole (including unions) they are assured of re-election. I'm
for denying anyone voting rights if they receive government assistance (welfare)
or are in prison! If you want to participate in this democracy you need to be a
responsible productive member of society. I would not put Social Security,
unemployment or veterans benefits into that category since you put into those
programs or served our country in the armed forces (especially a combat zone).

        • Kittyhane

        • Larry

You have definitely hit the nail squarely on the head. There was even a CNN article about this from a black pastor. I agree with you entire statement, well said.

"she was mentally weak and couldn't see the lie"

I suppose in that regard we are all mentally weak. However, did she see the lie. Of course, she did. What we don't know is possibly the snake made this attempt day and day, for 500 years. Not just a snake? Plenty of time to trick, confuse, infuse doubt, and so on. How long did it take before Victoria's Secret got a prime time slot? Can we remember the crack in the door. Was she mentally weak.. no, but taking her eyes off the prize, yes. Remember Lot's wife.

In regard to article... follow the roots of why we are here. Yup, money. Remember, create a problem then profit off the so-called solutions. Which do nothing but perpetuate the cash flow. Remove the profit and racism would be solved tomorrow.

        • SeaShel

True Gerry, but if you let the bars down the cows are going to get out. It's a force of nature. Rarely will one, black or white, give back a paycheck just to work for the same amount or less. After 3 generations those that get welfare checks keep up those in the household that can't get the checks and won't work, futhermore if it is a woman of child baring age another child adds to the household income.

        • LetzBReal

I was recently on unemployment. We were to look for work even part-time work.
Who wants to give up their unemployment for a part-time job that pays no more
and has no benefits? That's crazy. What if we had severance accounts? Money you
& your employer put into an account that becomes yours when you leave the
company. It's up to you to manage it. We could eliminate an entire state
bureaucracy. Companies could be given some incentive by allowing them to keep half the interest generated by the account.

        • Marj0120

You are correct and now a days it's worse then that, young people of all races are turning away from God. We have a media actively working towards that end. If it feels good = do it. I am so thankful that my child rearing days are gone. Most of the kids at the 99% OWS ralleys and sit ins are white partially educated kids. They think the world owes them equality on every front regardless of output or effort. The janitor should earn the same as the CEO!

      • Observant_One

And today, the technique has been applied to the Latino population in order for the liberal element of our country to remain in power and more rapidly cause the demise of our nation from the vision of our Founding Fathers, to that of some currently popular socialist country. Pity!

        • Judyann J

Why we MUST go back to those visions of the Founding Fathers. Progressives have been chipping away at our foundations for about 100 years. They have managed to dumb down our kids, society that a shockingly few even know who our Founders are. And by robbing our children of our impressive history, the take from them all pride of country...this is not by mistake. They also know the necessity to remove God from our culture to succeed.
Black Americans such as Allen West are brutally attacked. Now THAT IS a man who SHOULD have been our first black president. He well understands the concept of the "new plantation." As long as black America is chained to the government, to welfare, food stamps, wic, they simply will BE slaves to the government. And the Progressives, needing their votes to stay in office, in power, keep promising more and more to them like a drug pusher to addicts. Sinful.

        • Mellie Torre

YOU are a wise and intelligent person!

        • Sisa2

          I second that

      • ginger

The deterioration of black society is the black society...when blacks wanted what others had and they were willing to work for it there were stronger families..once their "culture" "made it" ie rap, etc down went the family and values..added to the drugs of course,

      • oldenoughtoknow

Right on the money, and I am old enough (60) to remember. The Dems started paying black women per illegitimate child and developing all this free housing. My Republican dad told us kids that we were about to see the destruction of the black family and that is what followed. Those women did not want to marry and many if not most of them did not really care about those kids. It was all about getting their "salary". I consider all those imprisoned, aimless or dead black people LBJ's spiritual children. I think he may have been the one that started raiding the SS fund to pay for this obscene debacle. America's demise began in the 60's and really took off in the 70's. Thank the Progressive Democrats.

        • NM Leon

Yes, and now with welfare reform still in place in many states, the welfare queens have figured out a new twist.
Mom gets her teen daughter to have a baby and then give it up. "Grandma" then steps in and takes the kid as a foster child, getting paid money for each of her grandchildren, as much as $2000 a month per child in some cases.

      • Susan Donem

Actually Martin Looser King's dream was a nightmare. Get a copy of and read the book "Martin Luther King- The man behind the myth" by Des Griffin. Martin Looser King was a communist and belonged to no less than 62 communist organizations. The Southern Christian Leadership conference was listed on the congressional record of the state of Alabama as being soley directed by and in the hands of the communists. King received direction from one of the highest ranking KGB operatives working on American soil at that time. He was not an ordained minister. he embraced and espoused "action oriented marxism". The so called "civil rights movement' was but a ploy used by the globalists to further erode social order in the U.S.

        • Mellie Torre

woh - THAT is something I have never heard before! BTW you are mis-spelling 'loser'.

      • colleenf

And the blacks can thank he liberal demwits for their plight.

      • Aloysius

I have said it before and I will say it again. A republican freed the slaves and the Democrats have been trying to put them back in chains ever since. The chains are the chains of dependance for sustenance. Many have seen through this ruse but others believe they have to vote Democrat to live.

      • Kittyhane

you are so right. The black people pay no attention to MLK, except it's a day off for them, one day a year. The black people are, themselves, putting their race 'back' to where it was before.
This usurper has made it hard forever for another black man to win, and I admire a lot of black people who have 'horse sence' and smarts. Too bad.10 steps back.

      • allen

MLK Jr. was a plagiarist, communist, serial adulterer, and a hypocrite of the highest order. I want to throw up every time I see a Christian reference MLK. If you want know where society went wrong read the great R.L. Dabney.

    • TexasGunSlinger

Politicians created a new class of slaves under the LBJ Great Society! And today most minorities are nothing but slaves to the politicians and "rights groups" who want to give them everything so that they can not survive on their own and therefore must rely on those politicians and groups for their "freedom". Sign at the National Parks: Do not feed the animals. feeding the animals makes them dependent on being fed by humans, and then the animals will not learn to feed themsleves and will not survive on their own!

    • Mike6

We are spending billions of dollars on remedial education and producing mostly illiterates, who want to shoot basketball, take drugs and listen to horrible music

      • Sorry the truth hurts

Its sad to say, but why does the majority of a race think that being dumb is so cool. SPEAK ENGLISH.. not " Who Dey, He Do, Baby Daddy, Let me AX ya summin... etc. " Take your FREE education to heart. Instead of going to the mail box once a month for your PAY CHECK, get a job and some self respect. The Black American dream seems to be a Rap Star, Pimp, NBA Pro, Crack Dealer, Thief or guberment free muny. Pull your pants up and evolve...... Blacks keep themselves down. That way, nothing can be expected of them !!!! Stop paying for 10 or 12 children out of wed lock, by 10 or 12 different daddys.

        • Mike6

Democrats are using "white guilt" to win elections and it is a red herring. Obama is angry about slavery and that George washington owned slaves. Many of the framers of the Constituion were against slavery and 620,000 white men died to make men free.
Obama and Moochelle have forgotten that the African slavers were horrible Arab Muslims who draged the black slaves chained together thru the Sahara with minimal water. The Arab Muslims were saving most of the water for themselves and their camels. I saw the actual chains in a Sahara documrntary and it was too hard to watch.
The black slaves who survived the Sahara trek and came to America instead of Brazil were the lucky ones.

sorry, Mary...I don't buy your rational. with all due respect.

    • matt39

Mary; I am in total agreement with your comment. I am 73 years old an was born in Philadelphia and lived there for 32 years. Every kid I knew had 2 parents whether they were black or white. Back then divorce and teenage pregnancy were frowned upon. I know that when I was disciplined by a teacher I never told my parents because my father would have whooped me again. Society started it's downward slide when LBJ and the dems instituted welfare and started stealing from Social Security, calling it a slush fund, and it's continued unabated ever since. Programs like affirmative action are in reality an insult to blacks because It infers that blacks are not as intelligent as whites, therefore, testing scores have to be adjusted. If I was an african american I would feel insulted. The disproportinate number of blacks on entitlement programs is the object of the democratic party, making them slaves, to that party, in this day and age.
Political correctness can be resisted by insisting on free, open and public
discussion of even the most sensitive issues. The more it makes some people
uncomfortable, the more important it is. A healthy society requires a free
marketplace of ideas. You have a right to your own opinions, and to express them

    • susan donem

Your comments are another breath of fresh air to an other wise sufficating populace which is gasping for oxygen as the media mogols tighen their strangle hold on the throats of humanity, most particularly the White Race. The perpetraitors of the mongrelized world populace and world govenrment are committing racial genocide and race mixing at the expense of all races. We are NOT all the same ! There is no such ridiculous thing as racial equality. To prefer ones own kind is NOT to be a "hater" or a bigot. Those are terms that have been introduced to the uninformed to intimidate anyone who would question the motives and agenda of the globalists-just like anti-semitism was introduced in the later 1800's as a vehicle to silence anyone who would criticize the motives and exploits of the jews.

    • jwright673

Inasmuch as LBJ's Great Society was part and parcel of the civil rights movement, I have to agree with you. It's been probably twenty years now that I read a book by Jared Taylor (the title escapes me) that documented the billions of dollars spent on welfare which produced no results. Unless you consider welfare cheats, illegitimate births, no one even looking for jobs results. One man's experiment with civil rights has decimated America and I see no end in sight.

Some years ago, a white Baptist minister told me that a black Baptist minister from Jamaica told him that black create slums wherever they go. Then, I read Scam, a book by black Baptist minister Jesse Lee Peterson, where he said the same thing. Since this is true, why should we bother building housing projects for these idiots since they're going to turn them into slums anyway? Let them start cleaning up the places where they live now. Stop the sexual misconduct, drug use, crime, especially violent crime, and all of the other evil behaviors that turn an area into a slum.

    • Fenderman52

Good luck with that! Didn't you know that only a white man knows how to operate those high tech impliments like brooms, shovels and paint brushes? A few years ago the City of Kalamazoo offered free paint, brushes and accessories to the black neighborhoods...NOT ONE TAKER!

    • SAM182

I'm curious as to how many black people you know personally. My parents
both came from two parent, working class families who migrated from the
south to MI to work in the bomber plants in WWII. They were never on
welfare and my brother and I were raised by two parents in a middle
class household. We wanted for nothing. I graduated from high school
and college cum laude. While I was at college, on a number of occasions
I had the highest grade in the class. I am gainfully employed, single,
no children and a home owner who takes pride in my home. Blacks are not a
case study or a monolith. Actually get to know one of us and you might
      be surprised.

! And if you give anybody the time to speak and know one another you will find that most people have much more in common than they would ever think or imagine.I is sad that we don't give one another the respect to learn about each other.I personally have been called cracker but i only look white i'm proud of my Cree Indian and french background i have experienced pregidous and it stinks nobody should ever feel that kind of hate Nobody So my point being People please try to say Hi get to know some one that looks different keep an open mind you might meet your NEW best Friend and that could start a whole new world be careful though as bad people look all colors and sizes just try to say Hi and be nice to each other it could work out for all of us. I learnd that thier is good and bad in all people so go find some good ones and go fishing together as we need all Americans to survive. Some one told me once it's amazing how in a fox hole thier is No color !!!

i was a minority until i was 45 years old. it was then i moved to colorado and realized there really were lots of other blonde haired, blue-eyed people in the usa. i had seen so few in the places i lived, i did not know there were many of us. now i know , that we Really are the minority in the world, and yet most of the others want the lifestyle we created for ourselves. living amongst the other DOES NOT make one more empathetic. i never dated the other. i simply lived and worked amongst them .

  • Proudamerican

Dont worry about being called a racist-they use that as a means to see if the other person has a backbone and if they cower over being called a racist- THEY ARE WEAK! Just tell the truth! Let them call you racist! it means NOTHING!

    • Roger_T73

I am the offspring of poor Irish immigrants and we never owned a slave nor benefited from slavery.
I do not have guilt over what the democrats did to the blacks. I am a Conservative. My father lifted his family out of poverty through education and lived 'poor' to afford college educations for three children. I worked for 30 years with no money in my wallet to afford to do the same for my daughter.
If you want to get ahead in America, the secret is delayed gratification. Don't spend everything you earn, don't get pregnant before marriage, get you college degree and probably a graduate degree too. Do ALL of your HOMEWORK everyday. Never cut class.

      • Fenderman52

Very good advice. Nobody knows discrimination as well as the Irish Americans do. They were treated terribly when they first came here. They were sterotyped as drunks, layabouts and wife beaters. But they overcame all of this by taking personal responsibility for their fellow Irish. If a man would not behave, his neighbors would "pay him a little visit" to assure his place as a decent member of this society. And now the Irish are as respected as any of us. The blacks must do the same. If we do it we're called racists, so it's up to the good blacks to teach the bad ones how to behave or they will suffer the same retribution as the bad ones will soon be receiving.

    • Mike6

Democrats shout down Rebublicans and that is how the win elections. They call patriots racist, bigots, or right wing nuts and people are soooooooooooooooooo afraid to be slimed in the media.
Last year at a Toastmasters Meeting, I said by mistake and Obama was a marxist and a Leninist and I was told to get out and never come back. I was so shocked that I just left.

I am not a birther as such, but if we are honest, why did Obama seal up his past. Why did he loose his law license. Michelle lost her law license also.

      • Taquoshi

While I'm not trying to argue here or be picky, B.O. and Mrs. B.O. did
not "lose" their law licenses, they surrendered them. What this means
is that they knew the governing authorities has an ironclad cases against
them and the judgement would have resulting in them being disbarred. It's also important to keep in mind that the surrendering of the licenses happened at two different times, not at the same time. However, since they "surrendered" them, they avoided the trials. In one way, it's almost an admission of guilt. In another way, they beat the courts to the punch.

Obama's was revoked because he lied on the application and Michelle lost hers because of fraud. She was told turn it in or be prosecuted.

        • Scott Wilson

Sorry, both factually incorrect, and easily researched to be so. Barack Voluntarily Retired his, and Michelle had hers turned "Voluntarily Inactive," and is easily able to reverse that status if she ever desires to do so. There is no evidence to suggest that Barack's was revoked in any way, and the rumors that Michelle's was forced to voluntarily suspend hers due to some type of malpractice have resulted from people not knowing how to correctly interpret the documentation. Here's a tip for you: if Fox News isn't even making a big deal out of it, odds are it isn't remotely true.

And now, instead of addressing what is an obbvious and growing problem, blaming whites and pimping poverty has become a cottage industry for black "leaders". The race card, although now getting closer to the bottom of the deck from gross abuse and rampant over-use, worked for way too long. Unfortunately, not only blacks, but everybody else is now paying the price.

    • JimRed

"There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well." - Booker T. Washington
The gentleman said this about a hundred years ago...

      • Judyann J

Ah yes, the Sharptons and assorted Reverends of the Black Communities. They MUST keep it going or they are out of work, out of money, out of power. Booker T knew what he was talking about.

Gary DeMar: It sounds as if you did your homework. The toes you step on are most likely blacks. I understand the inteligent level isn't there either. Watch what is being televised. They are showing the blacks as they really are. Not the brightest light bulb on the block.

    • freedo

Wow Tommy SB. Your statement that blacks are not the brightest light bulb on the block shows that your intelligence level isn't there either.

You ought to improve your observation skills, badly!

TommySB----Don't let these others mess with you. Of course there are many intelligent blacks, but the ones on the shows don't represent them. You are right, but it isn't the politically correct thing to say. Those people all go bat-sh*t crazy when someone tries to tell it like it is.

The problem is that the succeeding generations have perpetrated the racism of the past - they have turned it into an entitlement mentality of revenge. Martin Luther King would be disgusted at what they've done.

    • emerutil

      He would be delighted!

  • thewriteamerica

I like that the article is filled with numbers - facts that can't be denied, though they will certainly be used by actual racists to either say "see, blacks are horrible" or "see, whites don't do anything for the rest of us so we have to turn to crime to survive."

I recently took a different approach to racism on my blog:

There I discuss how it's organizations such as the Congressional Black Caucus are the real racists - in their specific case the fact that the organization even exists, as if part of the government should be concerned only with the needs of one identity group, and also how they try to brand others as racists just because we disagree with Obama.

In my opinion, Obama is one of the biggest perpetrators of racism in American history, leaving even Al Shartpon and Jesse Jackson in the dust.

    • Clarence De Barrows

Well said, thewriteamerica! From my perspective Allen West, whom I respected for his service to the Country, did himself in when he joined the Congressional Black Caucus. I don't understand his hyphenating his Americanism as many others have done. It is a divisive move, not a unifying one.

    "In a recent study by
the Baltimore-based Annie E. Casey Foundation, comparing statistics for its
Kids Count report, the organization reported that Detroit ranks No.1 in unmarried births among the nations 50
largest cities. Of the 16,729 babies born in Detroit in 1997, 13,574 were black, 1,679 were white and 817 were

rate of 1,220 violent crimes committed per 100,000 "

Between 65% to 70% of Black children
are born into single-parent, female-headed households.

Only 47% of Black males in America
    graduate from high school..

The average 17-year-old Black child has the
reading and math scores of the average 14- year-old White child.

One out of three Black boys born after 2001
will spend time in jail or prison.

An estimated 50% of Black girls between 14-
and 19- years-old have contracted a sexually transmitted disease.

The rates of Black "kids killing
kids" (KKK) and Black youth violence is increasing exponentially across
America, including 12 Chicago public school children violently killed in the
first 5 weeks of this new school year.

  • FlaJim

A start to a solution would be to stop special rewards just for being black. An entitlement mentality is not conducive to bettering oneself. Another positive step would be for government officials to completely ignore self appointed black 'leaders,' whose only goal is personal enrichment.
Thirdly, self selected segregation is not a bad thing. Start by ending all busing that sends bewildered children to schools 20 miles away where their parent(s) cannot possibly become involved. Also, isn't it very degrading for black parents to be told that their children will learn a lot better if they sit next to a white kid?

  • Lou Padula

We can thank LBJ and his Great Society programs. It wasn't civil rights that ruined the black family, and infrastructure. It was the socialistic, left wing programs that substitues hand-outs and a free ride for self-determination.

It all comes down to do you want the government to try solve your problems or would you rather do it yourself.

Being a victim has many advantages that appeal to those that feel the world owes them. The welfare state has attached chains to the disadvantaged and the recipients have begged for the locks to be shut. Why hold a family together or work if it decreases your benefits?
If I can blame YOU for my failure in life I have the equivalent of a "get out of life free card" , that works almost as well as the race card. which only worked because no right thinking person wanted to be labeled a 'racist'. Success in the ghetto is derided as "acting white" whether it is hard work or obtaining an education and is something to be eschewed by authentic blacks. As long as that attitude prevails, blacks are more in chains than they ever were during the times of slavery. The difference being this time they have enslaved themselves for the sake of a welfare check or a book of foodstamps. More's the pity!

You made an excellent argument that the blame for the plight of the Black race is not so much racism but more of a moral, educational, and cultural nature. However, the majority of your readers are conservative whites, ergo, your message will only remain a message with no teeth. Herculean is right adverb but not just for the effort that Blacks must take up, but for all of Americans who trying to get the message across to them. The cultural wall that divides blacks and whites is deep and high, perhaps unscalable.

    USA: The Next Detroit

    By Porter Stansberry

    From the October 28, 2009, S&A Digest

    One of the most important
things to remember about socialism – or coercion of

any kind – is it fails
eventually because human beings have an innate desire for liberty and a strong
need for personal property rights. In fact, the origins of government lie in
the need of agricultural communities to protect themselves from violence and
theft. So it is particularly ironic that in more recent times, it is government
itself that has more frequently played the role of bandit.

    When you start taxing
people at extreme rates to pay for socialist "benefits,"

    when you start telling
them which schools their children must attend, when you

    start giving jobs away to
people based on race instead of ability... you quash

    human freedom, which bogs
down productivity. .. and if continued for long

    enough, leads to social

    I find it perplexing that
only 20 years after the collapse of the Berlin Wall,

    the West continues to
implement laws that mimic all of the failed policies of

    our former
"communist" foes. In fact, our current president won the election by

    promising to "spread
the wealth around." But... truth be told... we don't have

    to look to Eastern Europe
or the Soviet Union to find a society destroyed by

    coercion, socialism, and
the overreaching power of the State. We could just look at Detroit...

    In 1961, the last
Republican mayor of Detroit lost his re-election bid to a

    young, intelligent
Democrat, with the overwhelming support of newly organized

    black voters. His name was
Jerome Cavanagh. The incumbent was widely considered

    to be corrupt (and later
served 10 years in prison for tax evasion). Cavanagh, a white man, pandered to
    poor underclass black voters.

    He marched with Martin
Luther King down the streets of Detroit in 1963. (Of

    course, marching with King
was the right thing to do... It's just Cavanagh's

    motives were political not
moral.) He instated aggressive affirmative action

    policies at City Hall. And
most critically, he greatly expanded the role of the

government in Detroit, taking advantage of President Lyndon Johnson's

    Cities Program" – the
first great experiment in centralized urban planning.

    Mayor Cavanagh was the
only elected official to serve on Johnson's task force.

And Detroit received widespread acclaim for its leadership in the
program, which attempted to turn a nine-square- mile section of the city (with

    inhabitants) into a
"model city." More than $400 million was spent trying to

    turn inner cities into
shining new monuments to government planning. In short,

    the feds and Democratic
city mayors were soon telling people where to live, what to build, and what
businesses to open or close. In return, the people received cash, training,
    education, and health care.

    The Model Cities program
was a disaster for Detroit. But it did accomplish its

    real goal: The creation of
a state-supported, Democratic political power base.

    The program also resulted
in much higher taxes – which were easy to pitch to

    poor voters who didn't
have to pay them. Cavanagh pushed a new income tax

    through the state
legislature and a "commuter tax" on city workers.

    Unfortunately, as with all
socialist programs, lots of folks simply don't like

    being told what to do.
Lots of folks don't like being plundered by the

    government. They don't
like losing their jobs because of their race.

In Detroit, they didn't like paying new, large taxes to fund a
largely black and Democratic political hegemony. And so, in 1966, more than
22,000 middle- and upper-class residents moved out of the city.

    But what about the poor?
As my friend Doug Casey likes to say, in the War on

    Poverty, the poor lost the
most. In July 1967, police attempted to break up a

    late-night party in the
middle of the new "Model City." The scene turned into

the worst race riot of the
1960s. The violence killed more than 40 people and

    left more than 5,000
people homeless. One of the first stores to be looted was

    the black-owned

    The largest black-owned
clothing store in the city was also burned to the

    ground. Cavanagh did
nothing to stop the riots, fearing a large police presence

    would make matters worse.
Five days later, Johnson sent in two divisions of

    paratroopers to put down
the insurrection. Over the next 18 months, an

    additional 140,000 upper-
and middle-class residents – almost all of them white

    – left the city.

    And so, you might
rightfully ask... after five years of centralized planning,

    higher taxes, and a
fleeing population, what did the government decide to do

    with its grand experiment,
its "Model City"? You'll never guess...

    Seeing it had accomplished
nothing but failure, the government endeavored to do

still more. The Model City program was expanded and enlarged by 1974's Community
Development Block Grant Program. Here again, politicians would decide which
groups (and even individuals) would receive state funds for various
"renewal" schemes. Later, Big Business was brought into the fold. In
exchange for various concessions, the Big Three automakers "gave"
$488 million to the city for use in still more redevelopment schemes in the

    What happened? Even with
all of their power and all of the money, centralized

    planners couldn't succeed
with any of their plans. Nearly all of the upper and

middle class left Detroit. The poor fled, too. The Model City area lost 63% of

    its population and 45% of
its housing units from the inception of the program

    through 1990.

    Even today, the crisis
continues. At a recent auction of nearly 9,000 seized

    homes and lots, less than
one-fifth of the available properties sold, even with

    bidding starting at $500.
You literally can't give away most of the "Model City" areas today. The properties put up for sale last
week represented an area the size of New York's Central Park. Total vacant land in Detroit now occupies an area the size of Boston – Detroit properties in foreclosure have more than

    tripled since 2007.

Every single mayor of Detroit since 1961 has been a Democrat. Every single mayor of Detroit since 1974 has been black. Detroit has been a major recipient of every major social program
since the early 1960s and has received hundreds of billions of dollars in
government grants, loans, and programs. We now have a

    black, Democrat president,
who is promising to do to America as a whole what his political mentors have done to Detroit.

    Those of you with a
Democratic political affiliation may think what I've written above is biased or
false. You may think what you like. But there is no way to argue that what the
government has done to Detroit is anything but a horrendous crime. You may think what
I've written above is merely a political analysis. Perhaps so, but politicians
drive macroeconomic policy. And macroeconomic policy determines key financial
metrics, like the trade-weighted value of a currency and key interest

The likelihood America will become a giant Detroit is growing – rapidly.

    Politicians now control
the banking sector, most of the manufacturing sector

    (including autos), a large
amount of media, and are threatening to take over

    health care and the
production of electricity (via cap and trade rules). These

    are the biggest threats to
wealth in the history of our country. And these

    threats are causing the
world's most accomplished and wealthy investors to

actively short sell the United States – something that is unprecedented in my

Well d one, thank you. And quite accurate except for a few points. I was caught up in the Detroit riots and I seen the wrong end of a full-auto twice in one fun I assure you. I recall the official death toll to be around one hundred but friends of mine that were on the force told me that they killed that many in their precinct alone and I think Detroit had about 13 precincts back then. The blacks burned the city to the ground and twenty miles away you could see the corona of fire in the night sky. Half-tracks rumbled through the streets and opened up with 50 cal. Brownings on anyone caugth questions asked. The fire departments gave up on stopping the fires as the rioters were shooting at them as they tried to do their job. As the song by Gordon Lightfoot went, it was a "Black day in July." With the current criminal administration and with the MSM spreading lies like they are with the Trayvon Martin BS I fear we're in for even worse rioting this summer than '67 had. We've accomplished nothing in the way of racial relationships...nothing.

  • jb80538

No I don't think you're racist. You are pointing out facts that are verifyable. If the truth hurts, too bad. If blacks would stop listening to race baiters like al Sharpton and Jesse jackson, they'd be better off. They need to rise above the harsh realities of their race and be respectable people in society.

  • john a

every other race and color that came to the usa,had to rise against racism, language and color-----the black population predominately has kept itself away from merging inot AMERICAN society and prefers to keep their own. until they decide to be americans first----speak our language ,dress as society does, get an education, work for their living, THEY WILL NEVER BE AMERICANS and will exist as an out group of people who live in america.

    Why Kids
    Don't Do Well in School

    January 22, 2010
    by Phyllis Schlafly

Let me share with you an
interesting article from the Washington Post about the

    teacher of an all-black
class in a high school in Alexandria, Virginia, who

    expressed his frustration
at how poorly the students were performing. The class

    included both native-born
African-Americans and kids who had immigrated from

Africa. In a moment of exasperation, the teacher blurted out this
question to the native-born students: "Why don't you guys study like the
kids from Africa?" One of them shot back the answer.

    The kid replied,
"It's because they have fathers who kick their butts and make

    them study." Another
student called out: "Ask the class, just ask how many of us have our
    fathers living with us."

    The teacher did ask the
class, and not one hand went up. The students had

    figured out, even if
school teachers and administrators are still in the dark,

    that the essential
difference between kids who make it in school, and those who

    don't, is whether they
have their father in the home.

    It isn't a matter of race;
the African-Americans and the Africans are the same

    race. It isn't because the
school doesn't have enough money; this school has so

    much money that it gives
every student a laptop of his own.

    The basic problem is the
lack of fathers in the home. And why didn't these kids

    have fathers in the home?

    For the majority of them,
the reason is the liberal welfare system which

    transformed the people who
were given "free" money called "welfare" into a

    society of single moms. In
this matriarchy, fathers were made unnecessary, even

    an impediment to the flow
    of taxpayer handouts.

    Now we see the terrible
consequences of what Daniel Patrick Moynihan famously

    predicted in 1965 when
Lyndon Johnson started his Great Society spending.

    Welfare reform was passed
in 1996 and even signed by Bill Clinton, but President Obama had those reforms
repealed in his Stimulus bill last year.

    The anti-marriage
feminists are unwilling to fault the matriarchal society, and

    so the academic feminists
keep looking for other causes of poor grades by

    minority students. An
outfit called the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task

Group is trying to get the
University of Minnesota to make race, class and

    gender the
"overarching framework" of all teacher education coursework.

    This busybody Task Group
is part of the University's Teacher Education Redesign

    Initiative, which is
premised on the notion that Minnesota teachers' lack of

competence" contributes to the poor academic performance of minority

    students. The plan would
require teachers to be re-educated so they will teach

Minnesota minority kids that America is an oppressive, racist, sexist,

    homophobic country.

    According to the final
report of the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group

    last year, in order to
effectively teach a diverse class of students, teachers

    must understand how
    "white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity,

    and internalized
    oppression" have impacted their thinking.

    The report demands that
teachers be trained to instruct students on the U.S.

    "myth of meritocracy,
" the "history of white racism," and "demands for

    assimilation to white,
    middle-class, Christian meanings and values."

    This Task Force even has
plans to browbeat into submission those who don't

    accept these new liberal dictates.
The Task Force calls on the University to

    develop "a
remediation plan" for non-performing students and teachers.

    Such outlandish proposals
have not gone unnoticed. The Foundation for

    Individual Rights in
Education (FIRE) accuses these re-education plans of

    violating "the
freedom of conscience of the university's students," and the

    American Council of
Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) charges that these plans "ignore

    academic goals and lead to
a politicized determination of who is qualified to be a teacher."

    The University
of Minnesota may pretend to back off from the more outrageous of

    these proposals, but they
are totally in sync with William Ayers' "social

    justice" teaching and
the more recent buzz word "cultural competence." The

    bottom line is to teach
the younger generation that they are victims of an

oppressive and unjust America, and that they should organize and demonstrate (a

    la Saul Alinsky) to take
power and money away from those who have those things.

    Another ominous straw in
the wind is Obama's appointment of six way-out

    radicals to the National
Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and

    Integrity (NACIQI), whose
mission is to evaluate whether accrediting agencies

    are properly assessing the
quality of colleges and universities. The appointees

    are the sort of Obama
extremists who will be likely to try to enforce diversity

    mandates and social
    engineering on institutions seeking accreditation.

    The most important thing
schools should do to for minority (and other)

    schoolchildren is to teach
them how to read by phonics in the first grade. They

    could do this
inexpensively with my First Reader, and if the schools refuse,

    this book is the perfect
tool for parents to teach their own children.

Outstanding. The rest of the tough truth is that until that can actually happen,we need to segregate so the anglo and asian kids arrant held back or subject to much lower standards. Tough call But necessary. The courts will never let it happen. so we will continue on the dumbing down process.

  • J3player

The one thing lost in the civil rights movement from Dr King, is the dependance on God. God freed us from slavery and liberated us. We have moved away from God toward dependance on government control. Until we move back to God, we will not be blessed. This goes for the nation as well.

Guilt Ridden Liberals are eager to place the blame on the White Man. In their BONG Hitting, Bizzarro Multicultural World, the dominate and most successful group should be Dumbed Down to make way for the masses. That way they can share the wealth and pander for numerical votes at the same time. Liberals are an Evil lot who breed Anarchy, Death and Destruction.

So very true, I know many blacks who have gotten out of that suppressive mind set of the liberals. They are extremely succesful and a joy to have as friends. More should listen seriously to people like Herman Cain, as there are others many others who have their heads on right and see themselves as beings not a black body controlled by government dependency i. e. the Communist liberals.

    • Darwin Gene Price

I have many friends that happen to be black. They work hard and expect their children to behave. They are mostly looked on as uncle Tom's by other blacks.

      • emerutil

Who would you hire: Uncle Tom, or a Black Panther member?

  • Loran

You are correct. This is a topic we need to engage in for the good of our country and to save the black community and its young. This fear of being called a racist cannot stop this discussion. However, I am of the opinion that a majority of blacks do not want this discussion to take place. Am I wrong?

  • flaphil

This tells me that whitey has to sharpen their skills at murder, rape, robbery and then blame another race. That's one way to look at it, but it would be wrong. There's no east answer because many blacks don't want to face reality. They need to change not the rest of the country or world. They have to admit of the corruption in their own ranks, just like in Africa where they're proud of the ancestry. All the money spent here and there has not solved the problems they have. They have to look inward as individuals instead of a group. Then they can identify what they need to do on their own.

  • James

This is as good as it gets. I wish every Black person would be forced to read it and accept it. Of course, Black people with one-third of a brain like ME already knew how true this is.

  • EHeassler_USNRet

Gary DeMar is spot on with his assessment of this problem. Government can't and won't solve the black communities' problems. Those problems have to be solved from within and that won't happen until the race whores such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, and Charlie Rangell are discredited for being what they are, pimps in pinstripe suits. The progressive breakdown of the moral structure within the USA and more importantly, in the black community, has led to an attitude of entitlement without merit and as well as an attitude that "We are victims and no matter what we do, we will not overcome the mean circumstances of our existence." It's just more BS. When getting good grades in public schools available to all I might add, is considered acting "white" and will get you beaten up, the problem resides within the black community itself. Black leaders, where are you? You are the people who have to demand change from within and call out the race baiters and charlatans who have made their living selling blacks on victimhood. If you are content with the status quo, just sit on your butts and do nothing. If your really want change, start leading. Demand that young people take advantage of the educational system. Learn something besides the ebonic conjugation of the verb "be" .....I be, we be, they be. It would be a good start.

    • Thomas Kanary

      roger that

To all the lawmakers that do the "feel good" thing, you have controled and did a very big disservice to everyone who is on welfare and dependant on the government. You have managed to take away the drive for generations to improve themselves and their children. I don't care what race you are you must teach your children to strive to improve yourself so that you achieve your dreams! Teaching someone that they cannot achieve anything because of their race is basically "slapping your children in the face" and they will never achieve anything!

  • John

Wow - the nail was hit right on the head.
Several years ago, Bill Cosby called upon Black men to stand up and be responsible. Support the children they fathered, and so forth. Don't know why that was cast aside.

Great article, Great topic but once again I ask "who is editing the writing there?" You suddenly come up with the place Shaw with no definition.and I think something is wrong with the sentence "cast aside those who have been leading down the real road to recovery" Is that what you meant" I think not!

Please those who oppose us will take advantage of mediocrity

  • Mike

Let them call me a racist but God is the only one who can see into my heart.

I recommend that everyone read "Stupid Black Men" by Larry Elder (who, by the way, is black,) and it illustrates, in very thoughtful, plain text, all the ills touched upon in the column above.

It's a very illuminating book that shows why the civil rights movement has become its own worst enemy and why the welfare state has harmed us all.

Most blacks I know are proud, intelligent people who have just as little tolerance for a lot of what has happened to their people as most conservatives do. But, they feel powerless against the masses of self-created victims.

I think the time is now to begin to very gently pull the rug out from under about 99% of the people who suck off the government. There are some people who really do need the help, true, hence the 1% that I say should be left with something. And I say "gently" because to do it too fast could cause a calamity of even greater proportions.

  • Brad Nova

The uncomfortable truth, however, is that crime rates do not explain
the sudden and dramatic mass incarceration of African Americans during
the past 30 years. Crime rates have fluctuated over the last few decades
    - they are currently at historical lows - but imprisonment rates have
consistently soared. Quintupled, in fact. And the vast majority of that
increase is due to the "war on drugs" and the "get tough movement." Drug
offenses alone accounted for about two-thirds of the increase in the
federal inmate population, between 1985 to 2000, and more than half of
the increase in the state prison population.

The drug war has been brutal, but those who live in white communities
have little clue to the devastation wrought. This war has been waged
almost exclusively in poor communities of color, even though studies
consistently show that people of all colors use and sell illegal drugs
at remarkably similar rates. In fact, some studies indicate that white
youths are significantly more likely to engage in illegal drug dealing
than black youths. They also have about three times the number of
drug-related visits to the emergency room as their African American

That is not what you would guess, though, when entering our nation's
prisons and jails, overflowing as they are with black and brown drug
offenders. In some states, African Americans comprise 80-90% of all drug
    offenders sent to prison....

A favorite phrase: Your race card has been canceled.

    • JimRed

Similar to what I've been saying for several years now: The Race Card expired on 1/20/09, and is non-renewable.

  • Jack_Reacher

Unfortunately, this response is probably going to be looked upon as "racist". So be it.

Take a look at a world map where blacks are the major portion of the population and control the area. Then take a look at the crime and horrible condition that black controlled cities and towns are in. Pencils and books are replaced by machetes and guns. Brutal and horrific crime is the norm. (Rwanda, Somalia & Uganda, just to name a few). This is the African's at their worst. As our inner cities continue to disintegrate being mainly occupied by minorities, they are becoming war zones and should be designated by the government to warn anyone straying into the area. Does that sound like America to you?

As the article stated: Blacks need to save themselves. Until that happens it is only going to get worse. Stop blaming "whitey"... We're the one footing the bill.

My Great Great Grandfather fough on the side of the South in the Civil War. As far as family records
go he did not own any slaves. But regardless of that I do not have guilt about what happened back
then. When I was being brough up my Father taught me to deal with each man on an individual
basis and not based upon their race. He was born and raised in Texas and worked in the Oilfield.
When I was in the AF I met and worked with many people of different races, the only thing that
concerned me was that they were Americans. When I was in the military the only thing I was concerned about was that the guy next to me was an American and he had my back. We lived in barracks and
worked together. When I retired from the military and returned to civilian life I discoverd that racism
had reared its ugly head in my country. The hatred spewed by the left acusign any and all who did
not kowtow to blacks, then they had the Affirmitive action program which ment they had to hire black
workers over others workers even if they were less qualified to do the job. The mentality of the
Left Wing Liberals had one again ignored the quality of the man and put race first. Every time
we turn around it is politicans who spew racial divide and hatred.

  • PreacherCruz

I am SO pleasantly surprised to see NO racist comments or overt racism anywhere here! I have an article on Race In America from the Biblical and personal perspective of myself. A former Detroit Public Schools child of so called "mixed race" I hope some of you will read or listen to it at God bless!

  • JeanB

I find we lash out most about the things we see in others that we fear WE are quilty of. I know several liberals that are among the worst racists. Treating any minority as you would an idiot or a child. These same people always see race as a reason because someones race is ALL they see. They foster the idea these "inferior" people could not survive without "their" protection. And aren't THEY just the most wonderful people as they often remind everyone. Sounds a bit like the master on the liberal plantation.
If you are a liberal and want to see a racist....go look in a mirror.

  • Corsica

It was back in the "we-shall-overcome-days" or soon after that an unwritten "black code" or "ghetto constitution" was fashioned and slowly adopted whereby a black was perceived as trying to be "white" or acting like they're better than other blacks by speaking correctly, studying, learning and doing good in school, being polite and decent, having manners, showing courtesy, respecting property, being conscientious etc. They were vilified and condemned. It was also after the civil rights movement that crime skyrocketed in cities across the country because it was the minorities' right to get back at white society for past injustices that libs keep trumpeting for decades after. I live in a town with a large Indian, Filipino and Eqyptian population. They are very wary of blacks and do not like them in their neighborhoods.

  • Tom Martin Morofski

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King would be sickened beyond words if he were to see what the likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have done as well as so very many other Lib-Dems such as the Waters woman in California and the Jackson woman in Mississippi, I believe. There are no secrets to decency, morality and self-accountability not to mention integrity. A wise man once taught that CHARACTER is who you are when no one but God is watching you. The NAACP and the congressional Black Caucus should hang their heads in shame as they accept their responsibility for inner city high school graduation rates and the total destruction of the families in the black community.
My hometown of Detroit, Michigan is the all-time "classic" example of exactly how NOT TO blow millions upon millions of hard-earned taxpayer dollars, all the while making matters ten times worse!

  • Blair

Back in the day, many men, and women, wore hats. Jacquelin Kennedy wore a pillbox hat in 1961. FDR,
Harry S. Truman, and Dwight Eisenhower, wore hats. If you remember the classic crime drama Adam-
12, the LAPD cops, Reed and Malloy, wore hats, even their black and white squad car. Cowboys wore
hats. Every President, except for Zachary Taylor, wore a hat. Zachary Taylor didn't wear a hat and died of
pneumonia a month after taking office. Even the most hated man in history, Der Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler, wore
a top hat. Hats, more than clothes, make the man.

  • Natalie Johnson

Well said. I want to help my folks, but it's hard to know where to start.

  • Barb B

Right on. I have many black friends who are dear to my heart. This has NOTHING to do with's all about character. Yes, there are some who are racist and hate blacks they don't even know. I grew up with a similar situation. My grandparents immigrated from Italy and LOTS of American's did not like Italians back then. But that didn't stop them from working hard. They didn't blame Americans for their failures...they didn't fail. My grandparents work their butts off...succeeded and became accepted when people came to know them personally. They saw their character...they were God-fearing, hard working people and I'm proud to say they passed their legacy down to their children. My aunts and uncles all worked very hard and did well. They did not sit back and do nothing but complain. I think too many, not just blacks, are looking for handouts and these are the ones who are angry with those who have succeeded. One of God's curses was that man labor in the fields...we ALL MUST WORK to be blessed. We are not all loved, but we don't use that as an excuse to be angry or violent. We all must take responsibility for our actions and stop blaming others when we mess up. When you point one finger at someone, you have 3 pointing back at you!!!

Time was a white man could walk down his street in his neighborhood and feel safe they were lost by lbj and the democrat party just for votes.
Now you cannot go anywhere and actully feel safe as the street are over run by thugs,

    • Mary

And that's exactly why I'm leaving my liberal state when I reach retirement age and moving to a more conservative state. To feel safer.

  • Ronald Dawson

Separate but equal was never equal, racism was rampant then and exists now, 'some' legislation was needed, and the civil rights movement, per se, did not destroy either black independence or some of the more successful black middle-class and upper-class infrastructures that had developed previous to the civil rights legislation of the 60s. Other than some of these general points the author is right on in much of what is written. The socialist (progressive) movement and liberal leaders, both black and white, that saw political advantage, power, and money in passing more and more separative and enslaving legislation in the name of civil rights, did destroy any chance for less racism, more equity and greater chance at equality in American society. It could be easily claimed that those who cry racism so easily fit the very definition of racism. Those who often claim to just be giving a hand up and wanting to equalize possibility of competition, are giving hand outs to keep their constituency enslaved, holding to them. As one said, "the Great Society" and other grand social engineering schemes since have had a great deal to do with the black culture taking the brunt of what I would call our overall deteriorating society. JFK would not recognize the Democrat party and I believe MLK would be aghast in the direction many of his "lieutenants" have taken.

  • Thomas Kanary

Great write. Very accurate. But I'm afraid it is probably to late. We need a bloody race war to cleanse. Thats the the only way Blacks will understand. Cut well fair off at the hip. Force them to fix their own problems. We also need to segregate until they get it together. Not sorry.

  • jwyh_1

Good article, however I have read Saul Alinsky's book and was forced to read "The Turner Diaries" while attending the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute. White liberals are to blame for everything that is happening to the minority communities

The daily dose of victim hood pill has made it so easy for the tainted and law-breaking leadership to take the sheep to their disaster. But ,again, again the leadership will not be held accountable because their failure has to be treated with "affirmative " allowances. The right to fail forever !

  • EyeWideOpen

I had a close friend once. He was black and I white. We were both in the Air Force, and stationed together. He was very smart, he was cool, he was laid back. We hung out together, shot pool, played cards, hit some of the clubs. We did the normal stuff airmen did during their off time. We talked about our homes and our families and friends. We had intelligent conversations about God, country, honor, world events. I really enjoyed his company and he appeared to enjoy mine. One day a group of black airmen were walking through the day room and I notice my friend with them. I walked towards them to say hello to my friend. They all looked at me and one of them said, what do you want whitey? I said I just wanted to say hello to my friend. They said, you have no friends here, isn't that right? They all, including my friend, said no - no friends here. Then they all left. I was shocked and felt gut-punched.
Later that day I ran into my friend, this time he was alone. He told me he could not be seen talking to me or he would be considered an outcast by his people. He walked away and we never talked again after that. A few months later he got transferred and I never seen or heard from him again.
I on the other hand got a letter from the my First Sargent to report to race sensitivity training. It seemed one of his friends reported me for being racist. I never did find out what I supposedly said or done but off to the class I went. The First Sargent was also black and I had really looked up to him. I found out later in a conversation with him, that he hated whites and could not wait to retire and go back home to be around his own.
I have learned over the years that there is a prejudice among blacks against whites, against Hispanics, against Asians, against Jews, and anyone else not like them. They even have a prejudice amongst themselves, according to their shade of black. They call themselves by shade, yellow, red, black, brown and so on. They will stick together against non-blacks but they have inter-shade prejudice issues. They can't stand it if one family in the neighborhood has a cleaner, neater yard, and will go during the night an vandalize that yard. They say, how dare they try to make the rest of us look bad.
They bully each other worst than any other group I have seen.
In the hood, you either do drugs, sell drugs, or keep quite. You either belong to a gang, be a victim of the gang and most of all, be quite. You commit crimes, help those who commit crimes, or be quite.
Don't dare be part of the solution, be part of the problem, and be quite.
They have problems and it isn't because of the white, (although a small very part is), the biggest problem is themselves. They can either rise above the problems and help others to rise up or they, as a race are doomed.
I look at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a great man, a man of God, and I wonder how disappointed he must be with his race.
A race that have such as the Tuskegee Airmen, Navy Master Diver Carl Brashear, William Carney, the first African-American recipient of the Congressional
Medal of Honor, Specialist/SFC Lawrence Joel, served in the U.S. Army in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and received the Silver Star and the Medal of Honor for his heroism in a battle, I could go on and on. In both the civilian world and in the military, there are many "Men of Honor" among the black community. They would be ashamed of what the men and women of the black community today are doing to themselves and to the dignity of a people.
I, as an American, am proud of my heritage. To have men and women such as the Tuskegee Airmen, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington, George Washington Caver, Abraham Lincoln, Booker T. Washington, John F. Kennedy, Harriet Tubman, Thomas Jefferson, Carl Brashear, John Adams, Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, William Carney, Guion Bluford, Neil Armstrong, Mea Jemison, Charley Pride, Ulysses S. Grant. All great Americans that we can all be proud of. We may never measure up to what they accomplished in their lives, as Americans, as human beings. We dishonor them if we do not do everything in our power to hold this great nation together as brothers and sisters, as Americans. Side by side, Browns, Black, White, Yellow, Red, and everything in between. We are all creatures of a Great and Powerful God and we are made in His image.

America has been systematically destroyed by three wars.

Ignorant Liberal Democrats embrace the WAR ON POVERTY and generally demonize the other two.

Ignorant Conservative Republicans demonize the WAR ON POVERTY, but embrace the WAR ON DRUGS and WAR ON TERROR.

These three phony "WARS" have enabled the massive growth of Government and were necessary for the destruction of prosperity.and freedom in America in order to bring about Global Government.

The TWO PARTY SYSTEM is a complete delusion. Romney / Obama, it does not matter.

The "Civil Rights Act" was not "LBJ's." The Bill was authored by Ike's administration not Kennedy or Johnsons, it was infact filibustered by then Majority Leader Johnson when Ike introduced it. When Johnson was in the White House, the Bill was re-introduced, but it was not passed by the Democrats, only 30% of the Demecrats supported the Bill in the House and Senate. The Bill originaly authored by Ike's administration only passed in the Johnson administration because of the over 60% of the Republicans in the congress.
The deaths of Kennedy, King, and X, assured that the Bill was hijact by what Malcolm called "The white libral wolves of the north." This is also the very moment that gave rise to Sharpton and Jackson whom have made it clear that "racism" will never die in America, until they meet their maker (soon hopefully). As for the "Minister Louis Farrakhan Muhammad, Sr" well, it was his own people that killed Malcolm wasn't it?
Until people of color (like myself) are willing to give up the the failed ideology of interdependence and stop arguing for policy based on color of skin, King's orison will continue to fall on racist ears!

  • f8tul

Excellent article.. not racist at all... Well done by looking at the statistics through out the years. I lived in the ghetto for a couple of years and I have to say what I saw was nothing short of evil. The blacks kept blaming whitey, but were just talking about the government.. Once they were actually talking bad about a black congressman and until I spoke up and said he was black, they kept saying Whitey...

It seems to be born and bred into them.. I couldn't stand it, for it made me sad to see and hear what I was seeing.. I tried to get my friends to a better place in life,,,ie. not blaming anyone but themselves and to try to bring up their image as only they could... some it worked for and some it didn't ... I effectively watched one of my best friends die from this life and he was one of the people on this earth that liked you for who you are, and not the the color of your skin...

    It is possible.. RIP Dave!!!

Hello. I'm DirtyDaveyDownEast and I believe we can build a B-E-T-T-A-H B-R-I-G-H-T-A-H future for A-L-L AMERICANS ! ! ! Change tha cluture. Black problems are not tha result of race, but culture. Tha 'bama Bum wants ta use blacks to his own ends. "Class warfare". No solution. He will throw blacks undah tha bus for Islam every tigm. Jesse Jackson exploits blacks in tha name of"civil rights". No solution. If just half of 'poor black' AMERICA woke up in "middle class AMERICA" tomorrah mornin' Jesse Jackson would be out of a job by 9:AM.

Some of the problem of black culture is due to whites: liberal/progressive white's and their paternalistic and condescending laws that they wrote in the hopes of enslaving blacks forever. Ok, perhaps some were idealistic do-gooders. But they were also just tools of a more sinister few elites. Blacks could be so, so much better if they just became Americans.

  • victorbarney

EXCELLANT! IN FACT OUTSTANDING ARTICLE! Please America, lets follow the recommendations of this report and live life well together in harmony, instead of following all the race-baiting that permeates our society and all based upon lies that feeds the "BEAST," so to say!

  • Death Walks Among Us.

I beleive if you google it you will find the first slave owner in America was Anthony Johnson. Just type in his name. Up until that time everyone was a bond servent. Meaning they paid your way here and you worked for them until what was owed was paid. Mr. Johnson refuse to release his bondservent and when sue the courts sided in his favor. Mr. Johnson was a black man. And it is true that there were black plantation owners.
I do not bed young blacks so don't blame me for their illiget kids.
I have no slaves. My ancestors did but not me.
I personnelly have been friendly with them, but don't give hand outs except my tith.
You look at their neigborhoods and look at how their people in Africa live. In most cases it looks the same.
Do not blame me or mine!

  • Richard Gibbard

I remember about 20 years ago, when feminists were advocating that rape be made a Federal hate crime, that the FBI Uniform Crime Report for 1991 (the most complete information available at the time) indicated that in cases of interracial rape, there were some 9,800 cases of black men attacking white women and just 10 cases of white men attacking black women.
I never heard anything further about rape being classified as a hate crime after that.
Also, I used to work at a gas station near Detroit, and as you might imagine, it got robbed a few times. Of the eight times we got hit when I was there, six of the perpetrators were black.

  • enubus

Blacks have always been looked at by the Demoncrat party as a monolithic group to be manipulated by government gifts so they will remain on the plantation schackled to the welfare system, affirmative action, and race pimps! There are intelligent blacks, but they are vilified by the left and there black brethern as uncle toms, oreos, and acting white! Until, their pseudo culture and ebonic balderdash is eradicated they will as a group, never show upward momentum!

  • ausscyn

No, you're not racist. The people who are racist are blacks like Morgan Freeman & others who still wave the race card. It's time for black people to become indignant about black people who think they are held down due to discrimination, or that they need an extra bit of help because of the color of their skin. It really is time for BLACK people to say, "Enough!"

  • Rebecca Onehalf

Call me racist. Supposedly in America I have freedom of speech and freedom of thought, meaning I have the right to be a racist if I so choose. As long as I'm not in a position to discriminate against one race or another, what difference does it make?
The truth is I hate people who don't behave like a reasonably moral adult. The stats above show who's less likely to behave - if you don't like me not liking you, then change those stats.

  • blackyb

They sewed a wind and reaped a whirwind.
White people should quite sucking up to blacks as we owe them nothing other than the way they treat us. They have no monopoly on the "pity me" game, they are using this as an excuse. They know what they need to do, so let them do it. They need to be responsible for their own actions. Color is no excuse. If they do not, as any other ethnic should do, like this country, leave it.

  • Keith Bell

I agree. I have a lot of black s who are among my best friends, but even they admit a lot of blacks take advantage of the system and yell, "discrimination" to get whatever they want. Of course there are many whites who are taking advantage of a government who believes that the only way to solve a problem is to hand out tax payers' money and special privileges.

  • lonesome

AMEN...Gary Demar! Someone with the testicles to tell it like it is! The truth cannot be racism. If blacks would and could read...they would never vote for the lunatic liars in the democrat party. Blacks have been scammed by the left for decades and don't even know it. UNBELIEVABLE!

  • Delores109

Thank you for a truthful, well-written article. I want to add a sentence, "Black people are being used." It is so easy to live life saying, "See, what everyone did to me? It is harder to take responsibility for living your own lives, but it makes you feel great when you do." There are people, like Obama, who are eager to make you dependent upon them by throwing food stamps at you and causing unemployment. This is because if they weaken you, they own you. I doubt that any black people want to be slaves again. What Obama is doing to you is a form of slavery. He owns you and your votes. It is not being done out of love. He wants to control blacks and whites with George Soros. They in turn want control of the world's oil for greater POWER. God Bless blacks, whites, and God Bless America.
    Delores Smith

  • Lee Sullivan

The word racist or racism is thrown around absolutely too much and I find it offensive to make the charge as much as people do today. It is 'character' - not 'color' - that matters. Besides, racism is a sin. Respect of persons is a sin...James 2:9. Getting right with Jesus would be a real good start at ending racism.

  • Bob McIntyre

All of the comments are very true. Unforturnately the black leadership is going along with Big Government and hand outs. A good way to break the trend is to get the blacks that broke out of this challenge and made a great life for themself and their families to help promote self-respect.
I just viewed the "Runaway Slave Movie" and it was great. If only more blacks would see the black produced movie it may change the scope a bit.

  • Mark Davison

Of course you can tell a story & not be "racist". Because "racist isn't really a real word. Disliking a person for their skin color or ethnicity is simply a personal opinion or preference which we all have a right to feel.

  • The Texas Cooke

Yep....they are going to go with "racist" you'll be saying the "man-induced global warming" is BS....

  • Mary Berg

Ah, but there's too much fame & fortune for the race hustlers to simply stop their blame-game. They live high-off-the-hog on the backs of the blacks who fall prey to the hate-talk & end up generation after generation, mired in the same pity-party thrown by the same ilk of politician & race baiters.
It's shameful, and yet nobody seems to have the guts to talk about the horrendous stats found in this article & the huge amount of human potential squandered because the blacks will NOT get beyond the blame-whitey excuse.
Until more folks like Bill Cosby start telling it like it is, the blacks will never accept reality & get on with the American dream, as Dr. King envisioned so many years ago.

  • David

I was in D.C. in 1963, marching with Dr. King. I am a white male. Now I am a 70-year-old white male, looking back on the hijacking of the Civil Rights movement. This is not the "equality" I was marching for. Our "post racial" present occupant of the White House has done more to divide this country along racial lines than 150 years of "separate but equal" could ever have imagined.Witness the Democrat campaign ads aimed at the Black population; if the Republicans aimed an ad at Whites like that, there would be rioting in the street from New York City to San Francisco.

  • Thomas J. Barbarie

In a way, blacks are right when they contend that their problems have been caused largely by whites. White liberals, whose inane thought processes have formed governmental policy over at least the last 60 years, are the root cause of the disarray in the black community. If you choose to ignore that fact, you might as well look in the western sky to see the sun rise tomorrow.

Our current government over the last years have make it possible for blacks (not whites - that's against the law) to get more money and benefits from handouts than keeping a job. Also, the government hires their quota of 'minorities" because of skin color and no other qualification. Our office was told by Washington that we didn't have enough "face of America". So, a job that needs one person is covered by several persons of color. Believe me, I am talking from experience. Our budget department went from one budget person to a staff of six, with a Chief of Budget in charge, with one non black contract person actually doing the work of the six. Sad, but true. In the government, it is the skin color that get moved up the ladder, while non blacks do the work. The blacks are too busy going to black organization meetings (that's also aganist the law to have white orgainizations) in Law Vegas, Miami, etc. All paid for by the governament with tax dollars from actual workers. Right now most of the Federal agencies are top staffed by screw up move up personnell and blacks. Government looks worse every day.

I am African American and have believed for years that welfare is used to enslave us. Fortunately I have never had to use it and would refuse it. Thanks be to God that have been so blessed. I came from foster homes and retired at38. I am a republican and believe if blacks changed their perspective and get off social services they would be better off. They would gain poise, courage and self confidence that will cause them to rise above their circumstance and be productive citizens

  • johnqblack

"Can I tell this story, and not be racist"...Of couse you can! Why can't you say precisely what's on your mind ,regardless of who you are! I'm black and I'm not offended, because what you say is true! Blacks need to understand that no one really save us, but ourselves! The good thing is that more and more Blacks are beginning to see that.

  • softball53girl

Excellent article - I have felt for a long time that somehow blacks were getting the tail end of the deal - ot talking about money, either...a sense of pride is no longer there...

President Obama has done more to separate whites and blacks today than anyone else alive. He uses the race card, every chance he gets, even though he said he wouldn't. He has taught us how much black America hates white America. Instead of leaving a good taste in our mouths about our first Black president, he has made America fear his agenda and fear the way he shreds the constitution with every act he does. I think whtie America might think twice about electing another black president if they attended the same church he did, and was friends with the anti American scum he is friends with. We need someone like Condalisa Rice or perhaps Collin Powell who love this country and would follow the rule of law. We all gave Obama a chance, and hoped his "hope and change" would amount to something. His sharp turn to the left (off the charts) is hurting our economy, our reputation with other nations, and is causing our former friends in other countries to think twice about their friendship with our nation. He has shredded the constitution and is standing upon the shreds with his very "dirty" and "unworthy" person. Shame on him and shame on the complicite media who have never fully vetting him, and shame on us for not looking before we leaped. We need an independent media to fully vet him this time. Shame on any American who votes in favor of giving Obama 4 more years to destroy our country.

The likes of Jackson, Wright and Sharpton will die trying to keep up the hate factor....that's how they make their money.....I know many black people and count them among my friends, but one never knows when something is going to spark an outbreak due to some crazy logic sent out there by the haters.....Wish we could figure out how to get this article spread far and wide.....Thanks much for your clear thinking and the courage to publish it

One other thing....Black journalist convention, NAACP, United Negro College Fund,,,, I could go onbut I am sure you get my drift......WHY ARE THESE NOT HARPED ON AS RACIST.....CHANGE THAT AROUND TO white this and white that and the roof would be being raised and there would be marching in the streets to protest....

  • Dave Burbee

AMEN! Well written and on point...I might add drug testing for those on the dole and the right to vote should be taken away from those receiving Government assistance; It's a conflict of interest...

  • Franklin Cromer

The civil Rights Movement put Black People right where the Government wants them. Helpless and desparately in need of Governmental handouts. The democratic Party is Black Folks ememy. But they are too uneducated by design to see that. Once a slave always a slave. Pity. Am I a Racist? Well, I Thank God each day that I was born Male and White!

If simply stating fact (ie truth) is racist, would telling a lie be unracist? I guess we'll have to check with Al Sharptongue.

  • bitter clinger

If we could hit a mute button and silence people like "reverend"Sharpton and Jackson, maybe we could get somewhere. As long as people like them are allowed to use blacks as pawns, the problem will persist.

    • CapitlistFool

Agreed. They seem to benefit from the governmemt plantation. I have the pleasure of working closely with several people of color on a daily basis on very technical matters. I overhear his daily pbonecalls with his children. His children are well-adjusted and do well in school. It's because he worked hard to leave the plantation. I have great rezpect for him,for he kept his self-respect. Government dependence is slavery and breeds self-contempt. Independence is freedom and breeds self-respect.

  • MissPat01

Let's not forget "class". Just like trashy whites, we have trashy colored people who are not going to do anything to improve themselves or their children. The decent class of colored people, just like the decent class of white people are going to do their best to instill values and morals in their children. Some people of either race simply cannot be helped, whether due to the way they are raise or messed up gene pool..

  • douglasdauntless

The Demo-rat Federal Gevornment destroyed the Black Family
Structure, (the Demo-rats are the real Racists) because they have always thought of the Blacks as lazy and shiftless, and they put them into proverity by giving them free money. Now look at the Blacks, high crime rate in every city and suburb in the USA. They have no respect for themselves or anyone else. Look at Chicago they murder each other every day, at least a hundred a week ober dope.

  • Scotttrader

The first step in solving a problem is to realize what the problem is. The second is to make a plan of action to solve it and the third is to take action! This is a great article on the first step. If you have a problem you have to own up to it and take your own action! As a white male I would support any black leader who is willing to take step one, two and three.

A ray of hope. I just recently saw a PBS special about Detroit. it was a move in the right direction- she fire cry from the racial division promoted by 70s mayor coleman a young.

but there still problems. tonight they are spending 700,000 dollars fireworks alone when the city is billions in debt. They are not learning. True, an angel may be paying for it, but it propagates the notion that debts don't matter. Someone else will cover the bill.

The whole city is a plantation.

  • r kammerdiener

the civil rights movement was a good thing i find it funny how the whites who marched with them are never told of any more. it is the civil rights leaders who became corrupted by the democratic plege of washington , lining the civil rights leaders pockets with money, the leaders of the civil rights became uncle tom's and do what they can to apease the democratic party now days. before the civil rights movement it was the republicain party fighting for civil rights and equality for all americans. but when kennedy befriended martin luther( a great black civil right leader and even a greater man) martin luther king changed from republican to democrate. before this you could not find a black democrate and kennedy knew the civil rights would be achieved with or with out him so he did the next best thing by supporting it to keep and reassure his presidency. (smart move for a politician) in doing so he would reassure his second term. unfortunately it was the democratic party members who insured to continue to stop it here in the south with the kkk and other organizations which lead to both of their assinations. but by then it was to late to stop the civil rights so they buyed off the civil rights leaders to create a government hand out system to corrupt the black pride and dignity. the only way to fix these problems is by teaching the morality of God to our children and stop the black white things. american can over turn the injustice our government has created by allowing God back in the schools and government. and when blacks , whites and hispanics all understand that when we are saved christians we become children of God and there for we become all brothers and sister Through Christ, then we can govern ourselves as a family who loves and cares for each other . but i know the only time this will happen is when the return of Christ comes and every head will bow and every knee will neal. for i have many black , white, hispanic brothers and sisters out there and do care for them all. and some day we will join in heaven with the eternal pease full of love and grace.

    • EyesWideOpen

Finally, some Truth that we can all agree upon. Hatred comes from the evil one and love is of God. If you are a hater, no matter what color, you are a son of Satan. If you have love and compassion and are a peacemaker, then you are a child of God.
I have been in both Black and White churches and found many God fearing and loving human beings. I have also seen the same people who sign praises to God and then with that same mouth curse someone because of their color, or because they have more than they do.
Racism is a tool of evil and perpetrated by evil men. Greed and envy are also tools of evil.
Remember Jesus died for all men, for Black, White, Brown, Yellow and Red. He loves us that much and He wants us to love each other the same way.

Maybe Sheriff Joe will catch that Jap guy. Then you'll have an old white guy as your Pres.

  • Oscar deLarento

This is the best article that I have read on "Race" in a long, long, time. It uses very good mental images, ie: the Rev. King march in Washington, where the black men and women dressed with "respect". I'm old enough to remember those days, but at the time, it never crossed my mind. (I was in high school) It sure is totally different today, with "their" music, dress, language, attitude, disrespect of women in general, skyrocketing single parent families, on, and on. Their best chance of salvation is going to have to be from within. Rev's(???) Farrahkan, Jackson, and Sharpton do absolutely nothing but incite and inflame "hatred of whitey" If it weren't for their race baiting, they would be impotent nobodies. All three have made a good living off of their hate mongering, and as long as they have ears willing to accept their vile trash, they will continue to peddle it. Case in point, David Duke, of the KKK.

  • Progressive Republican

To answer that authors question/headline: Since you decided to cite a "report" from an organization renowned for it's blatant racism, the answer is apparently, "No".

  • Frank Hurley

    Well said.

  • AppraisHer

Black society itself is fragmented. Wealthy blacks don't want to live with ghetto rats anymore than whites. Once blacks become successful, they look down on the non-producing welfare blacks because they know the hardwork that went into their success, just like whites. Do you see rappers living in the ghetto? How about black Hollywood elites? Or black athletes? Or black politicians? Or the new breed of radical, affirmative-action educated college professors? They want to heap guilt on successful whites by pushing the liberal agenda, without having to get too close to the rabble. How come the black 1% doesn't dig into their pockets to support their own, instead of demanding it from everyone else? Because they know it's a lost cause to throw their money at people that don't deserve nor appreciate it. White guilt is easier.

  • Cameron

Of course all these stats are correct. Without the black/hispanic numbers this country would have lower murder and all violent crime that the gun outlawing countries in Europe...even close to Japan. If I have to be a racist to know it and discuss it -- then so be it. We whites will stand up for ourselves sooner or later and I want to be in the sooner group. If we are going to be a minority I hope we are a minority that will fight for our families with great courage and vigor. We are spending our lives and fortunes sending children to schools and universities to be brainwashed in progressive socialist racist propaganda. I urge parents to use efforts to take great care in education of children. Don't fund it all, make them work as much as possible. Let us make this an exciting era to be proud of our ancestry. My wife is Oriental ( she hates the use of Asian as an identifier because it is not distinct enough). She agrees she must be racist-- if it means we are so called because we recognize the obvious. Lets fight them with all our resources--and win!!

While I am certainly not a "Bible scholar" ...l do read my Bible and study it. If I am not horribly mistaken there are passages in the Bible about "not marrying women from other TRIBES" what would you call other TRIBES? It is defined in the concordance as "common ancestry" . There are references in the Bible about marrying out of your tribe.

AMEN! what a great article and something which some of us have been saying for a long time. and if people like sharpton, jackson, would stop spewing hate like it is supposed to help black people instead of preaching (and i use that term lightly because i have yet to see a single christian act out of any of them) love and peace, everyone would be better off. black people wanted equality. we go to school together, are in the highest governmental positions together, shop and bank together, go to the same churches... we are equal. why black hx month? why miss black america? why have all these things shoved in everyones' faces that cal attention to the difference in the color of our skin? black people wanted and started these things: naacp, black this black that. is there ONE white only anything? no. but there are black only activities and organizations everywhere. obozo and the"rev's" who hate everyone are bringing black people down from the social levels they had achieved to that of .. well, i can't say it. it would be racist.

  • Magnun

It was so nice when I grew up, crime was not something to be concerned about. There was no such
thing as hate crime, even hate was almost a foreign word. When I grew up whites went to one
school system and blacks the other, the whites shopped at one end of town and blacks the other.
We could leave home on saturday and not bother to lock the front door, people had respect for
other peoples possesions. We had respect for other people period. everything seemed to be
peaceful, yes maybe blacks had lower paying jobs, but their jobs were better than the jobs
held by their fathers. Black income was slowly getting better as was whites. But then these"know it
alls" from the north, midwest, wherever came around and really started this "race war" so to speak.
They were telling the blacks how bad society, "white society" was treating them, how they were
being held back, how their education wasn't on the same level as whites, and on and on. And so
ended peaceful America. I never heard racial slurs from either side until then. And it was all started
by the black hate mongers. They told the black community that things had to be equal, well things were almost at that point, but then they told the blacks that things had to be more than equal. They hated anything that wasn't black. And now I hear racial statements from both sides, but more from the blacks.
And it looks like it will only get worse. I have had some friends who happened to be black, and they
have told me how in their churches, the young girls are told how to ride the system, how to get
welfare, food stamps etc, and what to say and to whom. I worked a job that would put me in black homes, and all I saw on the walls were pictures of John Kennedy, MLK and a black Jesus. O)h by
the way MLK was as racist as they came, he just used coded words that only blacks truely

As things go on, it would not surprise me that armed conflict developed out of this. It happens all

Anyone who bought the lie is living the lie.Genesis3:19

As a Black American, who detests the phrase "african-american" your words ring deafeningly true! The sad thing about this is that those words don't sound as loudly out of the mouths of the so-called "african-american" leadership that the media always looks to for analysis. The truth is that if racism were completely eliminated tomorrow, future generations of Blacks in the urban regions of our country would be no better off than they are today. As a person who attended the March On Washington, I've seen the demise of the sense of self-pride that was so evident then and the rise of the sense of entitlement that is so pervasive among the cultural elites. It's this dynamic that results in the dismal statistics that you presented. The really disheartening fact is that this dynamic is at work in the white community as well! The very fabric of our society is being unraveled before our eyes! Does the phrase "backwaters of history" sound prophetic?

The Indians lived through racism (okay a lot of them did not live through it), but they are here in the United States and I have not heard any racism words come from them. So I ask the Blacks, do you think you are better than the Indians? You are NOT!!! You blacks have destroyed your own image by being so racist. A large majority of blacks that are well educated will not even walk into a bad part of the black community. Your schools are putting out students that cannot write their name & math is a big impossibility for them. You black parents have brought this on yourself. While they were growing up you never tried to help them w/ their school work. The only way they know how to make a living is by robbing, stealing, killing or turn to prostitution, etc. Its the parents fault. The white people are not to blame for your neglect.

  • Terrance Adams

There is some truth to this article. But do know that some of this is residual from preconceived notions some white people have. Such as the person who posted here that "black kids cause problems in class rooms". No more than whites kids do. My pastor works with the prison system and had been told by judges that a young white make is less likely to be locked away because he has more resources to rehabilitate his life. Yes we blacks shouldn't depend on the government to help us out but should depend on God. Yet whites should at least acknowledge the fact that there are residual effects of generations off slavery on the family core and that we are not that far removed from those years. There were a lot of successful blacks then and there are many now. But that did not and does not represent the entire black race. Also to note there are more whites on welfare than blacks...

    • Linda Hopkins

I was with you to the end, and then you made a seemingly "all conclusive" statement. . . Check on the "per centage" of White to Black on the welfare rolls. . . So, lets be honest and state the whole scenario. . . All people, Black and White that are in the welfare system need to have a way out. . . Need is need, but greed is greed, and I feel that there are a lot of folks in the welfare ranks that do not need the assistance but take it because they can. . . Welfare should be there for those that truly need our help and the others are just freeloaders, Black or White. . . The "residual effects" you speak of in terms of slavery, are quite frankly wearing thin on folks. . . Perhaps when Black folks can say "this is a new day" and look at life from a different perspective, things will progress for the better.

  • Sharon Jones Jeanguenat

@b0377d98e3b5c6116e0bb7e541ade3a1:disqus No, the civil rights movement didn't destroy it. What destroyed was people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, & the Democrat party. They were treated like animals BEFORE civil rights started. If Dr. King hadn't been assassinated, it would be a totally different atmosphere, I believe. Dr. King was a Christian, first & foremost, then he was a black American. He was not an African-American. That's part of the problem too. They were originally from Africa, just as most of us were from another country, but they are the only race that still considers themselves of a different country. They were treated horribly before civil rights, & I remember seeing a lot of it on t.v. It didn't get much better for a long time either. However, we finally started to make a change in things, when along came Jackson, Sharpton, & the rest of them.Bill Cosby has made more than one speech TO the blacks telling them a lot of the things in this article. Only he said it a whole lot better, plus he wasn't being funny either. He was dead serious. And. our government has done all it can to KEEP them enslaved to that mentality that was pre civil rights. There are still racists on both sides, but the majority of whites AND blacks want to work together & make our country what our forefathers intended it to be. I know a lot of the forefathers were slave owners, & racists, but all of that happened a couple of centuries ago, when NONE of us were alive. Until WHITE people stop telling blacks that they should be 'THANKFUL' to them for what they have, blacks are going to keep feeling that shame & hatred they feel. God didn't intend for one race to HATE another. He intended us to love one another, as fellow human beings.

  • H-Bomb

I'm sure Booker T. Washington (1856–1915) had LBJ, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. and their kind in mind more than a century ago:
“I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.”
The paternal state not only feeds its children, but nurtures, educates, comforts, and disciplines them, providing all they need for their security. This appears to be a mildly insulting way to treat adults, but it is really a great crime because it transforms the state from being a gift of God, given to protect us against violence, into an idol. . . . The paternalism of the state is that of the bad parent who wants his children dependent on him forever. That is an evil impulse. The good parent prepares his children for independence, trains them to make responsible decisions, knows that he harms them by not helping them to break loose. The paternal state thrives on dependency. When the dependents free themselves, it loses power. It is, therefore, parasitic on the very persons whom it turns into parasites.

  • Terrance Adams

This is far more complicated and complex than this article suggests. There are a myriad of issues that lend themselves to this problem. For example media portrayal of blacks isn't always representative of us and sometimes it is the only black people that whites will know. Many of which this article leaves out. Although there is much to learn from it.

    • Linda Hopkins

Terrance, The Media has been misleading people of every race for some time now. . . Speaking from a White perspective, one of the best things that the Black folks could do to gain respect amongst all other ethnic groups, is to stand up and tell Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to shut up and that they do not speak for Blacks in general. . . They seem to be the self appointed mouthpiece for Blacks. . . That may NOT be the case, but enough Black folks need to say that as that is what most other people seem to think. . . Rev. Jackson used to be a little kinder and gentler person. . . Here of late he is right in there with Al Sharpton spewing nothing but hate and contempt for "White people", not any other ethnic group, just Whites. . . A brief synopsis by the author into some of the problems plaguing the Black community, both individually and collectively surely cannot be expected to have all the answers. . . I think the gist of the article is that there are problem areas that are not being addressed by the Black community. . . One cannot make blanket statements in regard to "all" Blacks do this, or "all" Blacks do that. . . Remember that there are White folks that would like to help in any way they can. . . It just seems that any offering of help has only been used as a temporary "stopgap" measure and only seems to breed the need for more and more of the same. . . Please spread the word, "democrats are NOT your friends !" . . Why do Black folks believe the democrats ? . . They were NEVER your friend or ally. . .They instituted slavery, fought to keep it, drug their feet every time they could have done something for the Black man, and through their ability to get the Black vote have actually kept Blacks enslaved through all of the handout programs. . . The Black man doesn't need a loaf of bread, he needs a good job so he can buy his own ! . . I think training programs would be better than handouts in the long run. . . I would hope you agree.

America has given the Blacks everything - freedom, education, racial quotas for
jobs and schooling, and equality whereever possible. In many cases the
discrimination has been against the whites for giving too much to the blacks
who are in many cases not qualified for what they get at the expense of someone
    more qualified.

If Blacks have a racial issue then it is the
Blacks who are pushing it. I no longer have any sympathy. They have had 3

The mentality of many young male Blacks when it comes to responsiblity and accountability is nil to none. The perfect example is that 30-something Black man who has fathered 30 children by 11 stupid women and says he can't or rather refuses to pay child support. How's that for a role model?!
Bill Cosby has been saying this for years and he's come under scrutiny by the Liberal Black community and so-called Black leaders. Deneen Borelli has written a book about this subject and she has been called extremely vile names. And Allen West has spoken out and he's been vilified as well.
Look at the guy occupying the White House. He's the epitome of the typical Liberal Black man who blames the White man for all his (and all Blacks') ills, who never accepts responsibility, or never holds himself accountable.
Oblamo is just a mirror image of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jeremiah Wright, and the New Black Panthers. Why do you think America is in the mess its in???

This discussion goes all over the place and winds up nowhere. All races in the USA system of 'education' are in the privvies because so few of us understand the US Constitution. This monument of governance created a new race, not of color but rather of attitude: the American is responsible, independent, tolerant, and a full citizen. This creative act took more than a signing ceremony in the 18th century, but that is when it started. The objective of the new nationality began to come into view during the post-civil war experience and is now visible to all who have unprejudiced eyes to see what's in front of them. The prejudiced, of either stripe, cannot see Obama for the citizen he has no interest in being demonstrated by those to assume that opposition to him is a racial attitude as opposed to a political judgment. That is why I can only be conservative and feel that conservatism is the most progressive position possible whereas the statist positions are all thoroughly retrograde and therefore socially and politically reprehensible.

I have found those that cry "racist" the loudest and most often, are the true racists ! . . . I don't think Blacks are the only ethnic group that needs help. I believe there are other groups as well, but regardless, they are first going to have to pick up the ball and make an attempt to run with it. . . Maybe some of the Black cultural leaders could aid in educating other Blacks in regard to carving out a place in society alongside the other ethnic groups that have come here, and found their way. . . Whenever you say anything and add the term "Black", you are in danger of being called a racist. . . . Jewish people are by and large frugal and good at making money ! . . Heard that one before ? . . Is it racist ? . . Not really if based on truth. . . . German people make good machinists because they are mechanically gifted ! . . . Italian people are good family people and like to make/eat good food ! But you'd better not cross one, or Cousin' Tony may pay you a visit ! . . . Everyone knows that Dutch people are extremely clean, or why else would they be called "Scrubby Dutch" ? . . . Rightly or wrongly they have been labeled by society in certain disciplines and just go on about their business. . . However if you say that in general, maybe Blacks ARE better athletes than most other ethnic groups, it is never taken as a compliment. . . You are just being racist ! . . . Most people are about ready to give up on the Blacks. . . I don't mean to be racist, but come on, somewhere along the line they are going to have to step it up. . . It's the old addage of doing the same thing over and over, while expecting different results. . . . Programs designed to "enable" have served more to "disable". . . The Black folks that have gotten busy and made something of themselves are always welcomed by White people ! . . . Heck, I'd vote for Allen West over Mitt O'romney any day ! . . . Maybe C. Rice in the cabinet ? . Why not ? . . . Personally, I'm tired of the fact that I am supposed to feel guilty ! . . I have never owned any slaves, nor would I have even in the day of slavery. . . I have never tried to keep a Black person down. . . Perhaps the guilt and non-success lies on the Black man's back and truly IS his own burden. . . When they step out and become tired of being on the receiving end of handouts, and realize that democrats aren't and never were their friends, and want to carve their niche' in our society, many White folks will be willing to jump in and help. . . I know I will ! . . . Oh, wait a minute, I forgot "White men can't jump !"

Great Article !!! You can't litigate respect, it has to be earned !!

  • barto

The Statistics and the follow-up points in this article are educational material that should be passed out to all black citizens AND I would bet you the majority of them would call it RACIST! They won't let facts and the truth stop them from calling us "whities" racists, it's bred into them and I don't expect it to change. Blacks are the most racist people in America AND it has gotten worse under the Obama administration!

  • Mike James

Gary is dead on... as someone who grew up in the 'hood... Too much emphasis on social justice (which is communist, marxist in origin), not enough emphasis on the real problem- Blacks have forgotten God. Whites need to stand up and take the fight to the race hustlers and their liberal acolytes...
Blacks must realize there truly is no such thing as a free lunch- Whites must realize that racial harmony will only exist when they stand up for themselves and demand that everyone step up to the AMERICAN standard... not this nonsense being accepted now... we as Americans period must do better than this.

Yet all the white collar crimes are almost committed by...............whites!!!! The mass murderers, high profile crimes like Bernie Madoff, Jeffery Dahmer, etc where whites! Please explain!

You cannot help people unless they want to help themselves!!!

  • nvrat

well, I guess that the Blacks and Browns doing time got what the Democrats gave them and what they wanted for free... food, housing, clothing and transportation. Call me racist or not because I don`t really care. I know I`m not and that's all that counts, a criminal is a criminal and a bum is a bum plain and simple. They had a choice and took the wrong road even though hey knew what was ther.

  • el_loco_jp

But Blacks cannot give up the mantle of "victim". If they do they will then lose their "it's the white's fault" excuse for any of their failures and have to show personal responsibility and demonstrate self reliance. Then they won't be able to sponge off the rest of society and will have to provide for themselves as individuals. Gawd what a rude awakening that would be.

  • Blair

Get rid of the race hustlers, race baiters, and non-thinking Obamacrats.

  • daveveselenak

Don't hold your breath, that would be like too much work; and why should they, they have their Sugar Daddy to take care of them - at least until the worthless money crashes. Didn't you just hear the radio ad for food stamps? The new Hitler will not be happy until he has all of AMERIKA on the government's teets! That way, he can take it away unless they CONFORM!

  • VocalYokel

A wise man (my Dad) taught me that numbers don't lie.
Accusations of 'racism' and the race card are the ploys of people who would like to believe they are victims of some evil conspiracy, and being so, are absolved of any personal responsibility for their own care or well-being.

People who leave their Faith in God's Son(John 3:16) will suffer because Satan wants company.Lots of so called pastors/preachers and so called( reverends not in the Bible at all )do not teach the truth, they only teach to tickle the ears of the people to feel good and get their money honey. That goes for all races.Big titles=big heads. The blind leading the blind into the ditch of Hell or prisons on Earth.Read the BIBLE and the book Harbinger by Jonathan Cahn and find out where the USA is heading and you/us.Truth or fiction?Your choice.God loves us/do you love HIM?(Roman 1:1 & 2).Eternity is waiting.

  • Dr. Real

Does anyone remember the 60's slogan "Black is Beautiful"? This slogan, while having merit, was used by many to dismiss personal responsibility (in education, social, and civil). I know, I was there. Heads were turned to allow a level playing field for the black community. Has it worked?

  • Joseph Blacckburn Sr.

The TRUTH will set you free/seek and you shall find, knock and will open, ask and shall be given unto you.My people perish for the lack of knowledge(Bible). I talked to a, so called ,educated man who never read the Bible and said he did not believe in it.Did you get that?I equate Disneyland and prisons to Heaven and Hell.Did you get this? Many do not because many have head knowledge, but no heart knowledge/They are gods to themselves(Romans 1:verse 1 and 2).I know,I was once one of those head knowledge men-me,myself and I.Now I know(John 3:16) and (Micah 6:8). Do yourself a favor you big heads and read the Bible one time in your life and add it to all the other books you have read.Just maybe, you may find a Gold nugget.have at it.God loves you and so do I.

I live in Lubbock, Texas and if we didn't have legal and illegal Mexicans committing crimes we would only need ten full time policeman. It is stunning what birthright citizenship and chain migration has done to our civilization.

Since 1963 blacks have been on the downward trend and continue to be. What happened in 1963? WELFARE!

There is only one race, the human race; we are all descended from Adam and from Noah.
There is only one Mediator between God and man, the glorified God-Man Christ Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Only through Him by the regenerating power of His Spirit, can satanic presuppositions such as "evolution" and "racism" be overcome.

I don't blame whites for black on black crime, or any other crime committed by blacks, unless it is robbery due to being laid off from a job due to discrimination. I am scared of black men (and I'm a black female) and have not dated any for years now. I am just as fearful of Hispanics. Back in the 70s and before, blacks were not the way they are now. I don't know whether it's the violent gangsta-rap/hip hop culture or what, but blacks - black men especially - simply engage in more crime. And it's a shame. My grandfathers never had a police record, worked to support their families...both my younger sister have children by men who DO NOT WORK (one even sells drugs)! I don't understand it. It's like black Americans don't want anything out of life. They just want to drink 40 ounces of beer, ride around in fixed up old cars, sell drugs, shoot guns, kill people, and die or go to prison.

  • Miss Karman

    I meant, sisters...

No; you can't breathe without being "racist."
