A Response to the ‘No Lesser of Two Evils’ Crowd

You’ve heard anti-Republican critics say, “I just can’t vote for the lesser of two evils.” If this is true, then you can never vote since we’re all evil, although some are more evil than others. I have a number of Calvinist friends who use the “lesser of two evils” argument. If you know anything about Calvinism, then you know the acronym TULIP. The “T” in Tulip stands for Total Depravity. It also goes by the names total inability or total corruption. It’s not that a person is pure depravity but that all his actions and thoughts are tainted by evil. Sin has corrupted every part of our being.

This means that any choice of a political candidate is a lesser of two totally depraved people. The people that say they will not vote for the lesser of two evils will get one of the two evils whether they vote or not. In this election, they may get the greater of two evils. And it’s not just the greater evil of one man we may get, but we may get the greater of two evils when it comes to judges, new laws, executive orders, wealth confiscation, and a whole lot more. The past four years should be a wake-up call to the no lesser than two evils crowd.

Then there’s the claim that there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties. Nonsense. Let’s say that since 1980 all conservatives had followed the “I won’t vote for the lesser of two evils candidate.” Where do you think we would be today?

The argument I often hear is that when things get really bad, the American people will finally realize that they made the wrong political choices and will finally embrace a new way of doing politics. It’s possible. But things could go terribly wrong as it has in so many countries around the world. With  nearly 50 percent of the American people not paying federal taxes and actually getting money from the government and 50 million people on food stamps, what side of the political spectrum do you think they will get behind? It won’t be the conservatives (or libertarians).

What’s so irritating about those pushing a third party is that they never really do it. The presidency is the last political office they should be pursuing. If the no lesser than two evils crowd were really serious, they would be putting up local candidates in elections all across the country. They should have been doing it for 30 years. If you can’t win locally, you’re not going to win nationally. If there is no broad-based national grassroots support and a demonstration of success politically, what do the critics of the “Republicrats” expect to accomplish at the top of the ticket?

There’s talk of Ron Paul running as a third-party candidate. What’s it going to prove? Let’s say he gets 10 million votes. He won’t get a single electoral vote. And even if elections were won by majority vote totals and not by electoral votes, he still wouldn’t win anything.

The lesser of two evils franchise will say that they will be “sending a message.” Yeah, that they’re idiots.

The Tea Party has done more in two years than the “no lesser than two evil” people have done in 30. They’ve put their talk into action inside the Republican Party. They sent a real message. Talk to Richard Lugar about it and also the Lt. Governor of Texas who get beat by Ted Cruz.

It’s easy being a critic. It’s hard building a party. The Democrats and Republicans built their parties. The establishment leadership in both parties has worked hard to keep competitors out. If getting pushed around is all it takes for the competition to leave, the establishment is going to keep doing it and laughing when they throw spit balls from the sidelines.

Whether Romney or Obama wins is ultimately irrelevant when you factor time into the equation. The system is going to collapse one way or the other and putting either a Marxist Mulatto or a Mormon White at the helm of the sinking ship will make no real difference. It's not as if the President has that much power to begin with, he has to answer to his handlers and all the cabals that truly run things. And even if the seat of Presidency really meant anything, none of the 7 Billion persons on the planet has the magical power to sort out a 200 Trillion debt or solve any of the thousands upon thousans of problems without solution plaguing that polity.

Now, from a personal viewpoint the choice of candidate can make one real difference. 4 more years of Obama regime are bound to have the "balloon going up" sooner, whether it will prove to be states seceding and American balkanization, a civil war, financial collapse and race wars against hordes deprives of their EBTs, etc.

If you are already prepared for the transition then Obama would be better. He would make the process swifter because he is bound to cause the fertilizer to hit the rotating device sooner.

But If you still need more time to prepare then the slower decay that Romney will preside over will work in your benefit. You will have a couple years more to get ready.

Rather than thinking about which wing of the One Party to vote for, Americans could use their time more productively and begin preparing the independent political structure that will take control over the region they leave when the Grand Experiment breaths its last. Two and a half centuries was a good run, but nothing lasts forever.

I truly think that Godfather Politics' readers, except for the very old and those that will die before their time due to some externality, will live to the end of the United States. I think a significant number of them doesn't think this is a bad thing either. A country that no longer exists doesn't owe money to anyone.

Lesser of two evils? Nah, it is more a question of how long you wish the music to last on this game of musical chairs.

While I feel that your conclusions are sound, I still have hope.

I hope that its not too late to shore up the sinking ship. Romney is the better man-morally and professionally. Its going to take the rest of us hardworking Americans to hold Congress, the Senate and the Presidency's feet to the fire for real change that is Good for America.

      Your pessimism hopefully isn't catching.

Pessimism? Nah. . .reality. You need to take a dose.

Most of the money is owed to the international bankers (much of which has been loaned out without the people's consent). Why should everyone bend over to pay for the sins that they have committed?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Smith/100002359397419 Paul Smith

Very well said. I, too, believe that the fall is inevitable. I hadn't considered that Obama's re-election might be the catalyst for that fall. Sooner rather than later might be the right answer!

  • http://www.facebook.com/charles.c.murphree Charles Murphree Jr

"Then there’s the claim that there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties. Nonsense. Let’s say that since 1980 all conservatives had followed the 'I won’t vote for the lesser of two evils candidate.' Where do you think we would be today?"

We'd probably would have better off today, Ron Paul would have been a past president. Clinton probably would have not been elected and if he was it would have been for only one term because we wouldn't have nominated a dead fish like Dole. Dole, McCain and Romney are loser nominees.

It is the fact that Obama and Romney are so close that voting the lesser of two evils is such an evil. If I have the choice of killing my mother or your mother, the lesser evil would be killing your mother because my mother is MY mother. But we should do neither because "Thou shall not kill [murder]." Image yourself voting for Clinton back in the nineties and you'd laugh because there was no way you would vote for him. But Romney IS Clinton and you are voting for him because Obama is worse!?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Cathy-Chancellor-Wright/1095074495 Cathy Chancellor Wright

Sigh... if you really can't see the difference between the two, then yes... abstain from voting, or write in Ron Paul's name... whatever. Giving up can certainly be a liberating experience. But for most of us your defeatist attitude smacks of the childish cry, "If you won't play my way I'm going to take my ball and go home!"

      • cliffvettej

A write in? In 8 States write in votes are not allowed at all and are never even tabulated. In all of the other States there is a registration process and fee to be paid if you want to be a write in candidate. Also, there are signatures to collect. The various States have different dates that you have to have the process completed by. In EVERY STATE the last date to complete the process was September 7th. What this means is that for any candidate that did not already complete the write in candidate process that there vote will not even be tabulated. So, go ahead paulbots and write paul in. Your votes will never so much as even be counted or tabulated in any way. paulbots should take their ballots and wipe their butts with it. At least their ballot will be used for something.

    • cliffvettej

All that to try and purify stupid. They are both the same. That is ignorance on stilts. They are NOT both the same and they will never be "both the same" no matter how many times you paulbots post that insane rant. I, among many others, have posted a long list of differences and you paulbots think that, even though the facts are the facts, you can make them NOT the facts by just saying it is not so. I have said all along that paulbots make great dummycrats and that is just one of the main things that paulbots and demonrats have in common. Just state something over and over again and repeat the lie and eventually it will become the truth.

The issue is not total depravity or lesser of two evils. I am an evangelical Christian, and I believe the Bible teaches that the world system is not controlled by God but by Satan and evil. Now some Christians have followed this to "stay out of politics (Amish and Mennonites). But my view is that in this system that God has placed us in - we can vote for the individual that is most likely to leave us alone. That is why I am voting for Romney. Obama is a Muslim sympathizer. I have live overseas and know that you NEVER give power to Muslims... EVER. They will use it against the Infidel. Personally, I liked Howard Phillips, but I know that the likelihood of him getting elected was impossible. It is reality. Frankly, I think many of the leaders we get to choose is based on the "judgement of God". We get what we deserve.

    • shortyshappy

Joel.....and America is truly getting what we deserve in electing Obama in 2004. This is no longer a political battle, but spiritual warfare. God have mercy on us.

      • shortyshappy

        I'm sorry....meant 2008!

    • Nathaniel

Hey Joel, Howard Phillips' party is not dead. In fact, we are on the ballot, by name, in more than half the States this election cycle. The Constitution Party. You might want to check us out. We acknowledge Jesus Christ in our party platform; I know of no other party that does that.

You tried Mr Demar but you are wasting your time and breath with the Paulbots. You will never convince them that Ron Paul would never be elected .

    • Captain Vargr

I tend to agree. And if Ron Paul *had* ever been elected the powers that be would more than likely have a bullet with his name on it. It ain't as if getting rid of pesky Presidents at gunpoint is something new in America. Its a time-honored tradition.

Democracy is a system designed to prevent change. It ensures only a certain oligarchical class of people gets to hold political power on a rotating basis, while the tax cattle is given the impression that their opinion counts and they have a choice...well you don't. You have no choice. The owners of that country labor intensively to ensure you have no choice.

Don't agree with me? Then tell me, how are those electronic voting machines working out for you? How about all them dead people, foreigners and pets that vote? Or the ones that vote more than once? Still think your vote matters?

How good are you at holding your "representatives" feet to the fire and force them to abide to campaign promises and to follow the constitution? What terrible sanctions can you inflict on them if they fail to do either or both? None, right?

The Marxist or the Mormon? Take your pick. It won't make a dime of difference in the long run.You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

      • georgetheclown

Might be a good idea for FBI to investigate you. Or are you just another RIGHT WING WACKO RACIST TERRORISTS??

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SCW3EUME5HLBKRMXWQBKQ7F6XQ kelly s

This is truth. Mr DeMar is right, we need to be involved at the local levels as well and build from the bottom up, this is the way it works in a true republic, and this is what is being done with the tea party, congressional seats in the house and senate are far more important than whoever the POTUS is. The dog should wag the tail not vice versa as it is now. If people want leadership they should be the leaders, looking to Washington DC for leadership is WRONG, that is leadership top down(statism). Constantly America looks to the wrong doers hoping they will do the right thing, GOOD LUCK!

      • Joseph Hunt

        Moron

      • Nathaniel

"The Marxist or the Mormon." You hit the nail dead on. There is no fundamental difference in their policies or their allegiances. Well said.

        • John Brashear

it's painfully apparent many of you don't listen to the policies of Romney...he has made clear what he is willing to do that is much different than the democrats,...it would be a lot easier if you guys listened

        • lolajmay

OH, I thought a comment up above somewhere was the dumbest thing I had ever heard. So, here's another!! There is no comparison between the two. You must have no clue what marxist, communist, socialist agendas are all about. I suggest you investigate. Do you have any idea that happened to the countries where these agendas were practiced? The citizens are OPPRESSED, to say the least. Fascist is another agenda to be feared. Did you ever hear of WORLD WAR II? You might also do some research there. Were you born during, or after this time in our country? If the answer is after, you really need to do some reading.

        • Captain Vargr

Let me clear the water here. I am perfectly aware of what Mormonism is and what Marxism is. I find it hard to believe that *anyone* could think I was equating a religion with a political doctrine and saying with a straight face that they are one and the same.

What I meant to say, using some humor, was that "the marxist" and "the mormon" are both tools of the same system and nothing of import will really be changing regardless of which wins the throne.
You will still have war with Iran, looter bankers, an emergent police state, welfare for votes and massive immigration with either.

Depending on which Interest Group you are in (if any), Obama or Romney might make a difference on a personal level, because once the new Caesar is enthroned he shall be doling out some goodies to his buddies and punishing his adversaries...but not extremely so.

4 years from now, no matter who is president, you will still have a failing nation-state that will be more into failure in all areas than what it already is today. Your political, financial and legal systems as a whole are killing your nation, until you get rid of them and extirpate its enablers the course that has been set will be followed. That's all I'm saying.

      • Ruggedlark

        E Tu'. Your pessimism stinks.

Are you going to vote or stay home?

My state has ballot by mail, and you know. Our turnout isn't any better than any other state. You would think we could have polling booths here with all our homeless and indigent populace earning about $50 for the day...but no, I'm sure there is someone in the Registrar of Voter's office checking signatures of the party they don't Want to win, and throwing out the ballot.

I think I'm going down this year. To "audit" the counters/signature verifiers.

        • lolajmay

SOMEHOW, there needs to be double checking on every ballot, so there is no chance of voter fraud. I like the voter ID, but I"m sure there would be a way to cheat on that. Expense...I don't care how much it would cost...it c ould save our country!!!

        • Ruggedlark

I think every voter needs to verify who they are, when they register and going to the polls.

If elections are to count and mean anything, we have to get the fraud out.

        • Captain Vargr

Lol, personally I am going to stay home, because I am an European, not an American citizen and I live over on the other side of the Atlantic. I am just very interested in USA politics because, well, quite frankly American politics are *the* most important in the planet.

That does not mean I do not think your system isn't a joke these days, just that it there are immense consequences from it, internally and worldwide.

        • Ruggedlark

Staying home? Boyfriend, you can't even play, being a European.

I'm in Oregon. And, we are the State of Conservatism overrun by California money and tree huggers. That's the funny thing about Liberalism-when stuff gets too expensive where you live (like registering your vehicles year after year for hundreds of dollars) you export yourself to a cheaper state to live in, and transform it into the one you just left. Make life hell for the hard working folks still trying to sketch out a living in a poorly run State.

Our system, our voter fraud is a joke. It CAN however, be fixed. If the people so desire.

          LOL!

        • Captain Vargr

I know I can't play, I was very forward about it. The "staying home" was a joke at your question.

I have yet to visit the Pacific northwest area, it looks beautiful over there. My perception of it is that its Conservative Heartland but you have some large cities which are like Liberalville and skew the voting demographics.
You also have some issues with White Nationalists, I've heard.

Your California migrant problem reminds me of what I saw in New England. Folks from New Hampshire were fed up to their ears with "Massholes" coming from the south to flee high taxation and regulation, but then wanting more sugar.daddy government goodies and more state intervention in their new region of choice.

        • Ruggedlark

I hope you didn't take my comment as a slam at you. It wasn't. I was kinda smirking when I wrote it, thinking, "lucky you"...Now I have to laugh...

Anyhow. All the West Coast is nice. I've traveled Washington and CA, extensively, and lived in Cali for a while. Nice people everywhere. And, I do believe you are correct: its Portland area along with Eugene, governing our state. The rural areas feel alienated from the rest of the state.

But, I understand not all things are well in Europe...Care to share where you're from? Its sort of nice to know the misery is everywhere...

        • Ruggedlark

One more thing...Your original post-"it won't make a dime of difference"...You sound like an American. All the way thru it.

      • John

Either way you get a Robamanation! Gary is wrong on this one, needs to listen to the other Gary.

        • Captain Vargr

You may Leandrea, but I hardly ever use it and haven't for many months. Be warned, if you check my list of "friends" you might get the wrong impression that I am a Libertarian; but I have abandoned that posture some time ago (still hold some of its ideals though).

I'll send you a friend invite.

      • lolajmay

You could be right, so hopefully there are enough people out there who will keep watch over this election more than any in our life time!! I would choose the Mormon over a marxist/comminist/socialist any day. Obama is surrounded by all of these now, so we could get them out also. If our country is to be saved, we all need to FIGHT LIKE HELL!!

      • wyatt48

You are right. Democracy is a system designed to prevent change. That's why this country is a Republic.
I am a Ron Paul primary voter and supporter. That doesn't mean that i am ignorant enough to not vote for romney this fall. I will, but,i won't like it. It comes to this for me. Saving what is left of this country from the socialists in power now is more important.

        • Captain Vargr

No, your country WAS a republic once. Today it is just another "Liberal Democracy" controlled by power groups who have Trans-national allegiances...much like most of the rest of the Western world. They wave the ballot box in front of your noses every few years, so you don't remember maybe the bullet box would work better.

I was a Ron Paul supporter once, and had the pleasure of speaking with him when I visited America. While he stands tall as a moral giant among the other bottom-feeding politicos, there are two great problems with him:

          1) He will *never* get elected to any meaningful position where he could really damage or change the system. The system protects itself, specially from internal menaces.

          2) While some of his policies are very sound, his platform as a whole would mean the destruction of America in the long run. It ultimately would only result in the brown people that will replace you in a few generations having sound money...huzzah! Having a commander-in-chief who is for open borders (even more than what they already are) is a good way to sign a nation's death warrant.

    • Bob in Boston

There were a couple of months where national polls said Ron Paul was more favored than both Romney and Obama. Of course with idiots like you constantly repeating "he's unelectable" despite him winning national office 12 times, it's no wonder some people start to believe it. But the people who know what's going on know that Ron Paul *could* win, and certainly has a better chance than Mittens.
But honestly it's not even about "lesser of two evils" anymore. Who could trust the GOP or Mitt Romney after the coup they pulled at the convention? When chairmen completely ignore the voice vote and the result is on the TelePrompter before they even call for the "nays", then that's almost worse than the election fraud that got Romney all the primary wins. That is the party literally saying that they don't even CARE what people want - they are going to do whatever they want anyway. Some of you might be able to stomach the result (Romney losing in November giving us 4 more years of Obama) but I can't. And since Romney's going to lose regardless, this is a perfect year to vote for a third party and show the GOP elites that there are consequences to cheating.

      • facelessforce

What will be even more comical is watching the throngs of Dems voting for a 3rd party candidate. Some I've heard talk about seeing the lowest numbers voting for the 2-party sham in decades, which only means the numbers ought to swell for non-R and D ranks. Hope it rocks the 'pull the big lever' gang to really think about what they're doing to keep this charade in place. It will only end when we all turn our backs on them. You empower whom you cede power to...stop empowering them and they lose power.

        • Bob in Boston

Exactly. All the people saying Ron Paul or Gary Johnson will only siphon votes from Mittens are buying another line of bull from the establishment - there are plenty of dems who will vote for a good candidate too if the word gets out they have a chance. And even if a third-party candidate doesn't *win*, if they can get a 20-25% of the votes, it'll cause some turnover in the establishment leadership and potentially open up a chance for some better party management, which is just as good.

      • lolajmay

What do you mean, the DNC is the convention that did the really bad voice poll, whether to replace God and Jerusalem back in their platform. Unless you only worded your comment wrongly. Democrats are the ones who did this, so get your facts straight. Did you watch the convention at all? There were lies told by almost all the speakers, including the VP, first lady, Obama, Wasserman Schultz. I know this because I have been listening to them, and doing the RESEARCH!! Ron Paul has said he knows he could not win, so he seems to be playing games with us. I was a registered Democrat all my voting life, and this administration helped me back to using my common sense; now a registered REPUBLICAN!!

        • ViragoVirgo

So you didn't watch the convention at all did you??? THE RNC did a voice vote a week before the DNC, and they pulled the same crap. The RNC and Romney replaced Ron Paul delegates elected in certain states by their voters with delegates they deemed more acceptable because they would vote Romney. They then proceeded to change the rules to allow a presidential nominee to hand pick delegates. That's your Republican party. Take your own advice and do your research.

    • Ruggedlark

JD. Dr. Paul actually does have many good ideas. And when you insult his followers by calling them names, why WOULD they want to vote for anyone other than Dr. Paul? You can't persuade people by denigrating them.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/7MNYSF3XMVSYQKTYBBIATYLSCM Scott

Jimmy, the Paulbots are about as intractable as Obamabots. Rona Paul, while well intentioned, is so crazy that it pains me to even waste breath on it, and I am very conservative. The Paulbots are like little crybabies when they don't get their way, and will cut off their own noses to spite their faces, which means that they care more about their own egos and extreme ideology than the greater good and survival of the GOP. These guys remind me of the LaRouche zombies on college campuses. If they don't prove to be team players, we must cut the cancer, that is them, out of our party.

  • Uncle Johnson

Do Americans stop and think anymore? Or just react? Our current problems with our government and our candidate choices relate directly to the obscene changes we allowed to be made to our Constitution. Every single issue this Republic faces can be traced back to a failure to respect our founding principles. Politics have destroyed our system of government and we must take it back or we are doomed to more policy (politicics) failure. Even if our citizens had the will to move in this direction it will probably take a century of transformation to get back to our fundamentals. Until then we will always have to decide between political ideologies instead of honorable representation.

    • Ruggedlark

I don't think it will take a century, but it will certainly take education and the ability to convey to young people (and others) the importance of our Constitution and the role government is meant to play in our lives.

If a person votes party line, and not for the most honorable person, that person is closed minded and bigoted.

We need to open people's minds.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Paul-Smith/100002359397419 Paul Smith

I couldn't agree more, Uncle Johnson? "WE" are the government. Wasn't is US who decided on the wonderful changes to the Constitution? I know, we like to blame Washington but Washington is nothing more than OUR choices in action. WE like to blame Obama but it was US who put him in that job knowing full well that he was going to "fundamentally change" America. WE send representatives to Washington with explicit instructions to write laws every one of which comes with a gun to be held to the heads of WE the people. How stupid is that?

      • GerryC

No we did not! Most of the changes were unconstituionally imposed by the courts, changed because of special interests, or the people were lied to by the politicians and the media.

    • Disgusted

Speak for youself. Many of us did not ALLOW changes to the Constitution. It was done whether we wanted it, or not because too many people voted in the people they thought could do the most--for THEM and never mind anything else. Never mind the Constitution, never mind the welfare of this country and for which it stands, never mind anything except what those people could do for THEM, their state, the most pork. It was the other people's states who had the bad guys, not theirs. They didn't care about the integrity of the Constitution, they just wanted their pork. They've got it and now they are waking up and seeing that things are in a mess when they left those of us who saw what was coming crying out what was coming, in the dust. Thanks so much.

  • james White, M.D.

Rarely considered, but astoundingly true, is that to "not vote" is as equally powerful a statement, as it is to "vote". I hereby urge all Obama demlibs, to forcefully express yourselves upon the grand stage we call "America". Express your hatred by NOT VOTING.

  • AmericaAwakens

I am of the opinion that people who are dependent on the government for their livelihood should forfeit their right to vote. In essence, the dimocraps are BUYING their votes with more and more 'free stuff'. This must stop!
The Republicans are not heartless and would ensure aid was given to the neediest while the loafers would be required to perform civic duties in their communities, such as pick up trash, paint over graffiti, volunteer to clean up empty lots and or assist elder homeowners with yard maintenance, etc. The free-rider's vote for must end to ensure qualified and honorable candidates are elected to improve and continue to rebuild what used to be the best country on earth!
Term limits in Congress must also be enforced to prevent politicians who have never worked in the private sector from believing they are the "elite" class who knows what is best for the rest of Americans. A retirement package for the life-long politicians is akin to the scheme unions use. This too must end! Our representative must serve because they care about the country, not the cushy perks and exemptions they grant themselves!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_SCW3EUME5HLBKRMXWQBKQ7F6XQ kelly s

We have term limits, they are called elections, but it takes an informed and demonstrative electorate to make it work.

      • Blomsoy

Yes, Kelly, and that's exactly why they don't.

      • lolajmay

The only thing with this is the stupidity of the voters, the ones who don't listen to all sides, do the RESEARCH, or use their brains, believe anything which gives them the freebies. TERM LIMITS would help with the problems as much as any other solutions. The power one gets with some leaders tends to blind them. COMMON SENSE has flown from most of the people in Congress. They don't even know they are already irrelevant. Obama would load up on executive orders. He doesn't even meet with the cabinet members. I would think that should be a daily, weekly, monthly event. He meets more with people like union leaders, entertainers, campaign events, vacation spots, Air Force I captains. like all KINGS should!!

        • GerryC

The stupid voters are the ones who listen to all the lies from all side. You sound like Glenn Beck, "do the Research". Where is this objective research that people can go to to get the facts? Not their local paper, not the national news, not the TV networks, not the internet, not one book in the library, and not one piece of data from the Federal government. All lies, all bias, and all agenda driven. What you get either contradicts your prejudices in which case you reject it, or it complies in which case you embrace it and call it valid. My uncle was exactly that type of voter, a Union man Democrat Partisan, would listen too then reject anything that the dems, the news media, and his union bosses opposed. When he finally retired and moved out of Massachusetts to Arizona he had an eye opening experience, he finally switched to the Republicans because he saw first hand the truth and that he had been lied to his entire life.

        • Ruggedlark

Your comment is inexcusable. "the stupid voters are the ones who listen to the lies from all sides". You know. An informed voter will listen to both sides, go online, and research their intended candidate.

Just like the "informed voter" will read several arguments from the voter's pamphlet-both sides-pro and con, NOT just the "main" point of what a person votes for. I like to see who endorses each argument as well-very telling...

However, if a person only gets their information from a local paper and possibly one tv news station, they certainly aren't getting all the facts. And, they may be getting told how to cast their vote in the process.

        • GerryC

          Rug,
          Whah..., Whah..., Whah...
How do you know the truth . because it offends someone. Inexcusable bah hah hah. Lola J is the one who said "The only thing with this is the stupidity of the voters" I just paraphrased and inverted.
Then you listen to lies from both sides, and call yourself informed.
You sound like the kid who goes to school and then thinks Columbus proved the world was round, or that Galileo proved the Heliocentric Universe was fact and the church opposed him.
"Who endorses", so who do you trust Party A hack or Party B hack?
Whose endorsement? I laughed at the hypocricy of Rush Limbaugh back in the '90s. He condemned democrats as idiots for voting on bills they never read (often without time to read them before the vote). Yet he was outraged that people like me were calling him out on his support for NAFTA which I actually read all 2000+ pages and opposed but he read not one page but supported because "people he respected" told him how good it was. And when he was faced with callers that opposed NAFTA, and they quoted exact words, he would cut them off and deny what they said was in there.

        • lolajmay

You need to read the post I put on just above here. There is some more "stuff" you need to read. IN THEIR OWN WORDS is something we should pay some attention to, especially when THEIR OWN WORDS change drastically to suit the situation. Voter stupidity goes further than just that. How many ways do I need to say RESEARCH and PAY ATTENTION. Read all that you can, then form whatever opinion you are capable of!
Off to dinner now, sure hope I can figure out what to eat, big decision, way above my head!!!

        • Ruggedlark

Just because the forum in anonymous, doesn't give you or anyone else a right to be rude, crude (you weren't) , and socially unacceptable...

That being said. I'm not a dumb school girl. I do like to listen a little to the liberals that think they are so smart.

The Republicans have their own issues, and the Tea Party is trying to wrench the GOP away from the "establishment". Its still a two party system, even if the Independents and Greens, and Libertarians think they have a chance.

I don't believe in a "Party". I believe in people. There are still good people trying to fix government...wanting to fix it. And, they will if we give them a chance and then stand behind them, or shield them from the fallout.

        • JOHN T. FOX

GLENN BECK IS A PSYPHRENIC DWEEB!

        • lolajmay

YES, do the RESEARCH!!!!! You can find information all over the place. It does help to have COMMON SENSE about what you find. Listening to people IN THEIR OWN WORDS does wonders for defining what is true. PAY ATTENTION is another great way. Listening to many different ideas through your life is good. Listening for LIES, then noticing when the lie changes right before your "ears"! Wonders!!!!! I am so fed up with the whining, not paying attention, stubborn, etc. (I could go on..) people out there. I have been researching all over the place, and the LIES got to me. Look at some of the posts I put on here today, and that could give you a good start on where to look!!! Some facts cannot be denied!!!

Elections are not term limts. Have you ever tried running for office. Politicians have enacted laws that keep people off of ballots so you have no choice, limited numbers of political parties, enacted "finance reform laws" that protect incumbents create so many reporting requirements that you need a ton of cash just to hire lawyers to comply, and incumbents spend their entire time in office raisning money. It is easy to see why incumbents win 99% of the time, they have 99% of the money, and all of the media support.

        • NM Leon

Tell that to those incumbents taken out by Tea Party primary challengers. ;-)

"people who are dependent on the government for their livelihood should forfeit their right to vote"
Yeah - and the biggest section of the populace that relies on their livelihood is...government employees. With the redundancy of government offices and agencies, government jobs are the biggest welfare recipients by far.

      • AmericaAwakens

I agree! The government has grown too big with unnecessary departments, agencies, and czars! One case in point is the United States Post Office, it loses money every year...could it be poor management? FedEx and UPS seem to be able to get the job done! The world of electronic communication has proven the USPO is obsolete! Amtrak has been subsidized by the government for YEARS...yet they continue to prop up this dead iron horse! Gee, they haven't added any more doctors to care for the millions of people required to use the government healthcare system [or pay a PENALTY T A X] but they sure the hell added thousands of new IRS agents to ensure we pay! Lest us not forget about the TSA...they are unionized government employees and a useless as a water pistol in a duel with a glock! I sure don't feel any safer having these clowns grope me at the airport while allowing "other" more obvious suspects to parade though. Dissolve these agencies, lessen all the new of regulations and let the private sector to pick up the slack.
Oh, back to the subject, yes government workers work less productively and have little substantial results, but they have a great retirement plan, just like all mob ruled union workers...Now that my blood pressure is off the chart, I'm going to have a glass of Merlot and go to bed.

Tom, don't panic over typos, grammar, etc. The internet has caused all kinds of problems with spelling, leaving words out (sometimes when our thoughts are whirling). The content of the message is more important to most. I have noticed the best educated can make mistakes. Spelling was my best subject in school, but the further away from school age (emphasis on AGE) takes me, the more likely there (their, they're) will be mistakes. So try noting the content just a little more often. Tricky sometimes, but smart folks should be able to figure it out!!! : )

You sir are an uneducated idiot...to say the least. The Federal Reserve is the entire source of our financial problems...do you like that they loaned out over 16 trillion in secrecy to foreign entities that your and my children alike are responsible for?Do you like the fact they are ruining the value of our dollar and are crashing the economy? That's a fact smart guy...Yeah this country is gonna get what it deserves with uneducated morons like yourself voting for the next puppet in control.

Money is an invention of the state. It has no intrinsic value. It is the balance of Production, Consumption, Capital, and Political Power. That is all that it is. Its basis is the power of the United States of America. Our Free Society, Our Markets, Our technological infrastructure, our military, and our will to persist. Don't worry about our money, worry about our stupidity and sheepish cowardice.

      • Blomsoy

Don't forget that there are a lot of educated ones too.

      • NM Leon

You might want to take a look in the mirror before you start calling people uneducated morons.

The Fed hasn't loaned $16 trillion, they have borrowed it, and it isn't all owed to foreigners. In July 2012, $5.3 trillion of that $16 trillion was owned by foreign investors, the largest of which were China and Japan at just over $1.1 trillion each.

The Fed is most certainly not the entire source of our financial problems.
Before the Federal Reserve, the US already had had two central banks,
the First Bank of the United States (1791-1811) and the Second Bank of the
United States (1816-1836). Both established with 20-year charters, and
both shut down when Congress failed to renew the charters.

Without a central bank, commercial banks took over the role of currency issuer. As a result, between 1836 and 1863 the U.S. had several competing currencies. Congress passed the National Banking Act in 1863 which in effect created a uniform currency by imposing a tax on notes issued by banks not licensed under the Act.

A bank note (dollar bill etc) is just a promise: you put your money in the the bank (gold, checks, etc.) and they give you a piece of paper promising to give you your money back. It's easier than carrying around a bunch of gold, and you can give that note to somebody else, and they'll know exactly how much it's worth. That's fine, but banks could print up more notes than they had assets, and of course loaned out those assets to others. Before the Fed (and FDIC), those notes (dollars) were covered by the issuing bank.

Occasionally, people lost faith in the local banks
for any of a variety of reasons, corruption, too many bad loans, sometimes just a rumor, and there would be a "run" on the bank, where everybody wanted to withdraw their money at once. That would in turn cause people to worry about the soundness of other banks, leading to runs on them, etc etc, etc, which had the possible effect, if the panic went national, to shut down the entire economy. That's exactly what happened in 1797, 1802, 1807, 1812, 1815, 1822, 1825, 1828, 1833, 1836, 1839, 1945, 1847, 1853, 1857, 1860, 1865, 1869, 1873, 1882, 1887 1890, 1893, 1896, 1899, 1902, 1907, 1910, and 1913, with 1797, 1807, 1815, 1837, 1857, 1873, 1893, and 1907 being classified by economists as major depressions or "panics".

The crises of 1907 was so bad that Congress started looking for some way to avoid such disastrous national economic shutdowns in the future, and with the recession of 1913, the Fed was started in Dec 1913.

The Fed took over the role as issuer of currency (necessary for a healthy economy), and more importantly, accepted the role of being the central lender to other banks (lender of last resort). That effectively means that a local bank won't run out of money if a "run" starts, and since the currency is backed by the "full faith and credit of the U.S. government", the people (around the world) have faith in it. Before the creation of the Fed (and the FDIC), during “runs on the banks”, Banks would become insolvent along with their depositors in many cases . The creation of the FDIC shifted the burden of insolvent financial firms from depositors to member banks, with the Fed as the last backstop.

There are certainly a lot of things wrong with the Fed, starting with their lack of transparency, but it's not hard to make a case that we have been better off with them than we were without them. In the 117 years before the creation of the Fed there were 29 U.S. economic crisis, including 8 major collapses, classified as depressions or "panics". In the 99 years since it's creation there have been 16 recessions with only 1 depression and three "serious" recessions ('73, '80, and '07).

Learn the subject yourself before you make incorrect statements and make a fool of yourself.

      • lolajmay

Who ever you are, GUEST, you cannot lump ALL the people in either party as one. There are plenty of morons on both sides. NO LUMPING ALLOWED!!! Anyone who doesn't believe in conspiracies is a fool. Guess who caused this recession in the first place? It was the Federal Reserve... Didn't you hear for yourself Alan Greenspan (out going Fed Chairman) and Ben Bernanki (present one), decided that they needed to raise interest rates to "create a soft landing". There are so many examples that I could fill a hundred books on those Conspiracies that you blindly think don't exist.

    • zsr6u

Exactly Right!... it's the Justification of doing something You Know Is Wrong... that
makes an action or inaction evil... like voting for someone who supports
(in any way) the destruction of another so you might live better or
      have more.

Those who seek to save their own lives will loose their own in the end... and that just may be around the next corner.

      All
the Romneybots should take heed about who and what he is... not far
from Obama at all... I don't see a dimes difference between them on a
lot of things pertaining to life, and certainly not in the direction of
our country... just a little slower than Obama.

      The people who
support Ron Paul are not going to vote for Obama or Romney... we'll
simply right his name in, and no one can stop that from happening.

You all vote your conscience... and we'll vote ours.

      P.S.
You also might want to vote for the most Constitutionally Conservative
person running for a Hose or Senate seat this year... because that maybe
the only thing standing between all of us and a Evil Dictator the likes
of which have never be seen in this world before... just a thought?

Politics is not an all I nothing proposition. Ron Paul is a foolish man, and has zero chance at winning. The core of the GOP consists of team players, not cry babies that must get their own way on every issue. We will drive you crazies out of our party and you can go start your own Buffoon Party. Best of luck to you.

        • GerryC

What a load. The core of the GOP are only team player when they get to lead. Remember 1980, "Reagan can't win" so the Republican Left formed a seperate Rockefeller funded party called the "New Alliance Party" It nominated Republican John Anderson who lost to Reagan in the Primaries. Its job was to split the anti-Carter vote so that Reagan would lose. Reagan won by running as the anti-CFR/TC candidate, Running against the Rockefeller wing of the Party. Reagan won and they tried to assassinate him. (Maybe you didn't know that John Hinckley's family were friends of George Bush, and Hinckley himself was sitting next to George W Bush at the Bush's home when the election results were announced. Didn't you think it odd that within seconds of tackling Hinckley, the press announced that Hinckley was insane and in love with Jodie Foster, and there was a mass push to get him off based on an "insanity plea" claiming that he was acting out the movie Taxi Driver)

        • Bob in Boston

That's just plain inaccurate - Ron Paul was polling higher vs Obama than Romney until May. It's Mittens who has no chance of winning, and he wouldn't have even gotten nominated without a ton of cheating and last-minute rule changes.

Yes it is all about winning. If you let Obama get it that is losing. 42 million babies are killed by abortion each year. If Obama gets in that is sure to continue. At least Romney has said twice he would attempt to overturn Roe v Wade. If Obama gets 2 more suprieme court decisions, that may be gone forever. When you get to heaven, make sure to tell those aborted babies how you throwing away your vote was "winning" because your consience felt better.

Yup; people can "downvote" your comment all they want, what they can't do is show where he used a single Biblical verse to prove his point; in fact, he didn't even offer a single moral reason to behave in the way he is advocating. He is a complete and utter tool who either lacks the most basic understanding or willingly misleads people, which is an egregious sin.

  • sidramone

I backed W Bush with my time, my money and my vote. He wasn't perfect.

I sent Senator Brown money for his re-election. He isn't a perfect conservative, but he is close enough.

I would have backed any of the anti Romney's. The all fell short. But would have been better then Romney or Obama.

Romney, in light of the first forty or so years of his adult life, including all his pre 2008 time in politics, was all wrong. He started reciting conservative talking points when he first ran for president. Even in the past five years he has spouted out his liberal core on Tarp, aministy, the stimulus, gun control, the fed, the government role in charity, man made global warming and cabinet departments.

If that wasn't enough, his masters in the RNC ruling class has changed the rules to make sure no conservative threatens the nomination of next 2016's next progressive in line.

There is a difference between the parties. But not enough to call it a choice.

So. many of us will vote for none of the above in November. Not because we want Obama to win, but because in the long run, it will be better for the party and the country if Romney and the Progressive RNC leadership to lose.

Ron Paul ALREADY HAD delegates that the RNC in it's stupidity would not allow! What crooks! Would not even allow Ron Paul to speak!!!!! That was the FINAL nail in the coffin for the Republican party for me!

Kenn, Isn't that cutting your nose off to spite your face? Your vote won't be counted. He won't get any electoral votes. And unfortunately that is how elections are still determined, by the electoral college. So why bother to vote at all? Do you really WANT another four years of Obama? I really don't. I don't think we'll have a country or our freedoms, the ones we can still enjoy, if he is elected. I'm sure you have heard of 1984, either the movie or the book and it will just be 28 years late in coming.

    • john

But it doesn't mean "giving" the election to MaObummer. Only Willard and his RINOs were capable of doing that. The blame lies at the feet of the RNC and the failure of THEM keeping their own rules. They are unethical, cheating liars. Only the RINOs and those like Gary are to blame.

    • lolajmay

Kenn, that is the dumbest response I have ever heard. These comments are making me so angry. Common sense has completely gone "over the cliff". So you would rather have a lying socialist/marxist in control of our country? One with a dubious past, to say the least. One who says whatever to get elected, and lies every time he speaks. That is all he has cared about since his 2008 election; never stopped campaigning since then. Are you NOT the least bit scared half to death of what will happen if Obama is re-elected?? I say, if you are not already a socialist/marxist/ communist, you need to get to the SEARCH THE WEB and do some serious RESEARCH of all the people in Obama's administration. This is not a time to be lazy in our search for a person who knows how to "get things done". Ron Paul is just a bit too "kooky" to be presidential material. I have watched often enough to have figured this out. SO, please get over Paul. He is having his 15 minutes of fame, and he knows he has no chance of winning (his oqn words); he is having his last HURRAH!!! Paul does have some good ideas, but not enough to be president. MOVIE 2016 could help you more than listening to the wrong networks, or move on.org (does the name George Soros ring a bell---the man who thinks he is God (his own words), and also wants to take down the USA (his own words). He plans on doing this by pulling the strings of his puppet Obama.

  • John Pirtle

Are you aware that Ted Cruz's wife is a Goldman Sachs Vice President. You think you actually have a choice with the faux teaparty? Gary Johnson is an actual choice. Mitt Romney is everything bad about Obama and everything bad about Bush rolled into one candidate.

    • joe6pack

I think you proved the writers point nicely. Well done!

      • John Pirtle

The writer is a gametheory thinktank trying to hand our government to the worst plutocrats in history who are intent on demolishing the middle class and turning us all into cerfs. And Obama isn't much better.

    • http://www.facebook.com/debbie.porter.5851 Debbie Porter

I wonder, John, if you and others who share your views, will wake up the day after the election and realize that Obama was returned to another four years of destruction because of your votes for Gary Johnson or Ron Paul? What then will you say to your children and grandchildren when America is gone? I am a Christian and an American. As such, I must vote for a candidate who is pro-life and who will side with Israel. Obama is the antithesis of everything I believe to be true. He absolutely must go! Romney was not my first choice. He does things that disturb me. However, I do not believe he is a Marxist. I believe he loves this country. I do not share Romney's theology but we are not electing a pastor. I do think that Romney will do his best to set America on a better economic course. The financial cliff is looming. We need to do all we can to elect good solid conservatives to the Senate and Congress who will keep Romney's feet to the fire. May God have mercy on us and lead us out of the mess we are in.

    • Edward53

So you'll be voting for Obama again?

  • Nathaniel

God put me in this world, and God Almighty told me, in Genesis chapter 9 to "occupy til [He] comes." That said, I have a duty before God to do everything in my power to fight evil where evil is found. And regardless of what anyone says, "the lesser of two evils" is *still* evil! No where does God condone or endorse compromise to get something that will win. But multitudes of times He does command us to fight against any thing that does not line up with His statutes. And while that means usually we will be standing alone most of the time, why do you insist that I compromise my principles to get the winner instead of helping me fight for truth and righteousness? In the end, I will not take your compromise and I refuse to endorse your morasses of moral and character bankruptcy. When I stand before God in judgment, I want Him to be able to say "Well done" because I chose right, even though I knew I would lose.

    • cliffvettej

You need to never vote in an election again as long as you live. The RIGHT choice would be to remain neutral and NEVER choose between any candidate. That way you could say without reservation that you made the right choice. You want to always choose right? Stay neutral!

      • docalpha

Well, I have to say that Cliff has come much closer to scripture than nathan. Sorry folks, i have a habit of actually studying was written in the Scriptures.

      • GerryC

That is why I wrote in Alan Keyes last time, and voted for Constitution Party and Libertarian candidates in previous one. I get the satisfaction of voting for some one I agree with and get the plus of seeing the person I oppose the most McCain, Dole, Bush ('92), Gore, Kerry, Ford and Romney all lose.

        • cliffvettej

You're real intelligent. You cast a vote that won't be counted and you get the satisfaction of helping to usher in Socialism into the United States. No one is trying to appeal to you as you are obviously too brain dead to understand a cognitive thought.

    • peter

Exodus 4 - God compromised with Moses. I Samuel 16 - God compromised with Samuel. Need I say more?

    • Kay

It isn't just YOU losing. Do you really think Romney is EVIL? I don't. HE believes in God. Do you really think Obama does? Really? Would you say OK Hitler is going to win because I think the other guy wasn't good enough for my standards? We aren't electing a Pastor. We are electing a President OR a Dictator? Where will your standards be when they eradicate God from all we do? At least with Romney I will still be able to worship my God. Obama will take that away, I promise.

      • RepubliCratsSuck

Romney believes in a god. So does Obama. No difference there.

    • GerryC

When John C Calhoun lost election for the presidency he was asked why he didn't say whatever he needed to to become president. His response, "I'd rather be right than president". Can we not hold ourselves to the same high standards, I would rather be right than have a RINO like Romney elected.

  • usluv

I don't think its possible for one person, to again, do the damage that Obama/Davis has done in 4 yrs. No telling what he will do with another. If he's re- elected with the horrid record he has...it will get the adrenaline smoking and we'll be living in a nazi Germany hell. With Mitt...we can embrace him at his word and if he doesn't work, well in another 4....he'll be gone too. I prefer to believe he has a good grasp as to what the country is going through and will do his damnedest to bring us back to greatness.

    • http://www.facebook.com/debbie.porter.5851 Debbie Porter

I agree! It is imperative to get Obama out! Later on, we can deal with the rest. If Obama wins either by fraud or because Republican votes went to a Ron Paul or other, we are in for a very very bad time. America is in economic and spiritual freefall. Unless we return to the God of our Founding Fathers, we are done. Especially if the U.S. turns against Israel.

      • rusureuwant2know

The Republicans still aren't getting it - they keep giving us the same old same old. I will not go along with this charade any longer because there is never, ever any "dealing with the rest later". They're no different than Obama - promising change and never delivering on it. Even under Reagan, the promised cuts in spending allowed it to continue to increase.

        • lolajmay

Listen UP! The republicans don't get it?? So so do you think the Democrats get it? There is always "dealing with some issues later'. The point is to get Obama and his communist (true) cronies out of office. Guess you haven't done your RESEARCH. Romney hasn't surrounded himself with communist/marxist/ socialist RADICAL people who are there to see that he does the job of taking down the USA. I'm getting tired of repeating this.....RESEARCH: Valerie Jarrett, Axelrod, Emanuel, Van Jones, Frank Marshall Davis, Obama's mother and the rest of his family, the name Harrison J. Bounel, the "down low club". A simple typing in these names should enlighten you. There are many siteS within each of these names to get you started, unless you're too stubborn or set in your thinking (same thing!) to even look. I have done that and was"creeped out" by some of what I found. If you or anyone else is fearful for our country, or are not one of those three organizations listed above, you should do your "duty" and check them out. The saving of our country is at stake here.....

        • Sinbad

Maybe the point for some people is to not only get Obama out of office, but to replace him with someone who will do their job. I want to put people in office that will (or have a record of) uphold their oath of office. Romney isn't that as he has openly stated that he would violate his oath if put in office. To say that your only objective is to get obama out is like saying your only objective was to beat Mcain in 2008. You need to do more research on Romney.
If you think saving our country is at stake - do you think starting a war with Iran (to begin with) is going to accomplish that task? I don't think replacing Obama with Romney is going to save much of anything, much less our country. That is OUR responsibility.

        • cliffvettej

"Romney has openly stated that he would violate his oath if put in Office". You stupid, stinking paulbot show us WHERE he said that. You can't because he did not say what your lying paulbot as s said. paulbots are worse than demonrats when it comes to making up lies. When you are lower than a demonrat you have achieved something that is almost impossible to achieve.

        • Sinbad

Romney stated in the debates that he supports the NDAA, the patriot act, wants to go to war with Iran (UN & Nato) and supports the unconstitutional wars we are already in for starters, and I could go on.
I am not a "lying paulbot"! Ron Paul is no longer in this race. You resorting to namecalling is very imature and is unfortunately what is breaking up the RINO party.
If you are trying to drive teh RP supporters away from voting for Romney you are doing an exellent job. It sure is not helping get Romney votes.
Hmmm...........Does that make you a Obama supporter?

        • cliffvettej

What you posted is YOUR OPINION of what the oath of Office encompasses. All based on paulbot positions. I don't give a damn what paulbots think. You paulbots--and YES you are one--have tried to extort concessions from Republicans ever since ru paul got into the race. Well your extortion days are over. Take your stinking paulbot votes and cram them up your as s. I'm not trying to appease any of you anymore.

        • Sinbad

Oops, did I push a button?
"What you posted is YOUR OPINION of what the oath of Office encompasses" - yes! I believe I am (politely) posting under the "comments" section. Are you under the impression that your posts are anything more than your opinion? Moreso, do you think your pathetic personal attacks and rudeness are contributing anything to the discussion?
"extort concessions from Republicans ever since ru paul got into the race" - Please substaniate (your opinion) the grounds of that statement.
"Take your stinking paulbot votes and cram them up your as s" - Although I do agree with many of his views I am not, and never said I was, voting for Ron Paul. I am undecided at this point as I do not like any of the choices (as if we really have any anyway) that have been presented to me. Maybe if you considered spending more time giving me reasons to vote for Romney, rather than spewing anti-Paul rants you may have more luck.
You sir, appear to have some serious hate issues (especially toward Ron Paul and his supporters) and you should (IMHO) seek professional help. Until you get over that you will continue to contribute to the breaking up of the Republican Party and be part of the problem.
I will vote for the person I believe will do the best for this country and get us off the destructive path we are on. Can you at least be respectful enough to be with me on that?

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

and now he's backpeddling on Obama care Cliff, just like I told you he would. http://news.yahoo.com/romney-says-keep-parts-obama-healthcare-law-155146420.html

        • cliffvettej

He is not back pedaling. He said that he would keep two provisions. The provision against pre-existing conditions and the age 26 provision. There is going to be a health care law of some sort or fashion. It just boils down to what is in it. I would still vote for Romney over the alternative choices. I may not get everything I want but with obamler I will get nothing that I want. You paulbots just cannot grasp the fact that you cannot cram your entire agenda down a person's throat. There is going to be things I like and things I don't.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

AGain, Cliff, what business does federal government have in mandating a company provide a certain service when that service is not being offered across state lines? Second what business do they have in mandating it in the first place? Should a company not be able to offer whatever services they want? I guess you are against freedom and in favor of fascism. you Romulans are just demonstrating what you really believe about government...........you want it bigger, not smaller.

        • cliffvettej

I don't want bigger government. Here we go with another paulbot "pie in the sky perfect world scenario". There is going to be some form of government meddling in health care whether you, I, or anyone else likes it. It is just where we are. The Republicans do favor offering insurance across State lines and tort reform as two of the features they would like in any health care initiative. You can whine all you want about government should not be involved. Fine. But it is going to happen. Hopefully we can frame an agreement that is a fair compromise. There is that word you paulbots hate--compromise. Until you learn that compromise is always going to be a part of politics then you are in for a miserable life in the political world.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Yes Romulan you do. Everytime you vote for a big government guy, that is what you are requesting.

        • Just Saying

Well, if this is your position, why do you object to bigger government? If there is to be involvment of government in places they have no business getting involved in, then there isn't anything the gov can't do, is there? That is your problem, and the problem of all the peopel like you: you call the freedom loving constitutionalists "paulbots" like peole who want the government to do only what the constitution allows are wrong! Then don't complain that we're getting to socialism, it is the logical end to this road.
No, the government shouldn't be involved in health care in any way, shape or form. What you don't understand is that every time someone like you says: there should be a law! another small part of our liberty goes away.

        • cliffvettej

The problem the paulbots have is that they believe they have the supreme sole authority to determine what is or is not Constitutional. Although I have never met or spoke to or read a post from a paulbot with a legal degree that would qualify them to speak on what MAY or MAY NOT be Constitutional they think they are all Constitutional experts and slant their interpretations to meet their ideological agenda. Once again, if a law comes before Congress and passes muster and then the President signs the bill into law then IT IS CONSTITUTIONAL. That is the established process for making laws in this Country. To say the "government shouldn't be involved in health care in any way, shape, or form" IS YOUR OPINION. I might agree with you but if Congress (without checking with me or you) passes legislation we don't like concerning health care then we are unfortunately stuck with it. I personally hate obamler care but does that mean the law that also passed Supreme Court muster is not law? Of course not! When a law is passed we are stuck with it unless it is repealed or we have people in Congress who will not pass unpopular legislation in the first place.

        • Granpa David

right. People who get in to your mind and sway you to not vote for Obama's opponent, are known as termites.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Unfortunately Cliff if a Romulan Sinbad. Appreciate people continuing to point this out. He's also backpeddling, just like I said he would on Obama care: http://news.yahoo.com/romney-says-keep-parts-obama-healthcare-law-155146420.html

        • maryhowland

sinbad plz. just quote something right. geez

        • maryhowland

sinbad you never heard romney say that and you know it. with you who needs the democrat lies.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

In the support of NDAA, with indefinite detention which violates the fourth amendment cliff. That is a violation of the oath.

        • cliffvettej

IT IS NOT A VIOLATION OF THE OATH TO UPHOLD A LEGALLY PASSED LAW. You paulbots do not like the legally passed law so you think it is okay to apply your ideology to the law and just make it a "violation of the oath". NOT UPHOLDING THE LEGALLY PASSED LAW (i.e. obamler not upholding the DOMA Act) is a violation of the oath. You are not entitled to your own set of facts.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff if I'm not mistaken you were the one claiming Obamacare was Unconstitutional and now has been deemd constitutional, what say you about that?

Illegal laws are illegal no matter what the Courts say. If they determine all people named Cliff can be killed and that is Constitutional, does that makes it so? Surely you see the illogic of your argument here.

Obama is wrong on DOMA. No question there. I'm curious about your answer to Obama care after what you said before.

I'm guessing you Romulans don't like the legally passed Obamacare either.

        • cliffvettej

I don't like it and it needs to be changed. Your extreme example is a poor analogy. YES, we have to accept the laws even the ones we don't like.

        • seektruth

Even if the law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL in itself? It completely rips out one of the foundation Bill of Rights!!!

        • cliffvettej

UNCONSTITUTIONAL?? By whose definition? The paulbot ideology definition? The law was LEGALLY PASSED BY CONGRESS (all of them that you people whine about) and to NOT uphold a legally passed law (again see DOMA and obamler) is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. You paulbots are entitled to your own opinion no matter how out in left field you are. You are NOT, however, entitled to your own set of facts. Boy, Reagan should have said this to the paulbots: It's isn't that paulbots are ignorant. It's just they know so much that isn't so.

        • ChickenHawk

It is undeniable that Cliffvette would rather be dealt a straight flush from a stacked deck and accept the concequences than fold and call it what it is. They never seem to recognize lines drawn in the dust of experience.
What's in the koolaid they drink? Check raise Cliff?

        • Sinbad

If the law is unconstitutional, it is not passed legally cliff. The constitution is the law of the land. Are you saying that laws passed illegally in defiance of constitutional law is not in violation of the oath?

        • cliffvettej

The law is NOT PASSED ILLEGALLY IF IT MAKES IT THROUGH CONGRESS and is signed by the President. You (and the rest of the paulbots) set yourself up as the supreme authorities on what is a "legal law" and an illegal law. The Congress has every legal authority to pass any law that can get the votes and then be signed by the President. Who the hell are YOU to interpret the Constitution as meaning that any law that passes Congress then gives YOU the authority to hand down a supreme ruling that the law is not valid??? The hubris you and the other paulbots have to say what is or is not law is ridiculous. If it passes and is not struck down by the SCOTUS then the law stands AS LAW whether you like it or not. Maybe next time Congress will check with you before they pass any laws. Just to make sure it passes YOUR personal muster. My God, your ignorance is only exceeded by your arrogance.

        • JOHN T. FOX

THE CONSTITUTION IS THE HIGHEST LAW OF THE LAND. ALL LAW IS SUBORDINATE TO THE CONSTITUTION. ANY LAW IN VIOLATION OF THE CONSTITUTION IS TO BE STRUCK DOWN. THE OATH IS TO THE CONSTITUTION AND NOT TO LAW!

        • cliffvettej

YOU DO NOT GET TO INTERPRET THE CONSTITUTION ANY WAY THAT YOU DECIDE THAT BESTS FITS YOUR IDEOLOGY. LEGALLY ENACTED LAWS ARE LEGALLY ENACTED LAWS WHETHER YOU AGREE WITH THEM OR NOT. DO YOU AGREE WITH OBAMLER CARE?? WELL, LIKE IT OR NOT IT IS THE LAW UNTIL IT IS LEGALLY REPEALED. YOU PAULBOTS ARE JUST TOO STUPID TO LIVE. IDIOTS.

        • Bob in Boston

Of course he did - he already said he would have voted for the patriot act and the NDAA. That alone is enough to bring charges of treason against him, but the fact that he openly stated in the debates that he would consult his lawyers instead of the Congress before declaring was is icing on the cake.

        • maryhowland

thanks. you said what i was trying to get over but you put it better than I could. I am not good at expressing my thoughts but I do get it. and this person is badly lying on mitt.and needs to be called on it.

        • annieverysorry

So your idiodic statement is to keep obama in office. You have been listening too long to the lies he tells. What more can he do before you and others like you realize the damage he has done to our country? I am sure Mitt Romney is not stupid and would say he would not uphold the oath he will take, tell us where your heard that. You need to use some logic and realize obama is able to handle the presidency. Do your research and don't listen to the lies obama is spewing.

        • Sinbad

I, by all means, am NOT an Obama supporter annie. It appears you have completely missed the meaning of my post. Don't be so (very) sorry.
I am interested though, in which statement you considered idiotic. Would you be willing to let me know?

        • Carl G. Oehling

What is the difference betqween keeping the oath of office to one's spouse and the people of "WE the people".

        • Sinbad

I'm not sure what you are asking Carl, but I will differentiate.
Any oath (promise) you make (or break) to your spouse is your business and your spouse's. It doesn't affect me and I have nothing to do with it.
Any oath (promise) you make (or break) to the citizens of your country is the business of all the citizens of that country. It affects the citizens of that country.
Do you know what the presidents oath of office is?
I don't know about you or you spouse, but If someone promises something to me and breaks it I will hold them accountable. Especially if the promise includes "so help me God".
          Get it?
          Hope that answers you question.

        • Bob in Boston

Exactly - if people keep falling for the same lines every election, then we'll NEVER get a candidate that will actually do what needs to be done. We need complete, comprehensive change and Romney doesn't offer anything similar to that. He may not be worse than Obama but he's certainly no better if you research his record in Massachusetts.
A vote for aromney is a vote for the end of the country just as surel as a vote for Obama is. And I personally don't think it'll take longer with Romney either. The only way to enact real change is to vote for Gary Johnson and show the handlers that we-the-people aren't playing their games anymore. Anything else is a wasted vote, and you will be contributing to the demise of the country.

        • maryhowland

perhaps you can run for the office. you have two picks. pick the one you think will do the better job. if you don;t want to vote for either that is also your choice.and you are hearing something off the wall. you never heard romney say he would violate his oath. and as for iran he didn;t incite a war. get it right please. he was talking about curbing irans weapon builing aronies. . he mentioned the fact which is true that barry should be acting like a leader and stay and do his job instead of going off to vegas at such a crucial time. geez. this is off the wall. with your kind of talk we don;t need the democrats garble.. and yes we have to do our part but the laws are to be upheld at the highest level. we need a leader in charge to make sure these laws are follwed. without a leader we can have a mess with everyone wanting their own laws. but you have to either vote or not vote. that is the way of our country. pick your canidate or just stay staus quo.

        • Granpa David

I agree lolajmay. If you don't vote for the lesser of two evils, you get the greater of two evils.

        • maryhowland

thank you. you get it not to mention the club he belonged to in chicago a homsexual bar and the mysterious killing of three of his gay lovers. this is dowmn and dirty low life. this is the background of the dems king. both reverands manning and wright is telling his story. the dems are the ones that should listen up and help get this bad luggage out of our white house and out of our country. I believe larry sinclair. he is just too well documented to be lying.and all the facts can be checked.so what do we want a man with a shady past or a clean living person. i pick mitt.

        • JOHN T. FOX

          YOU UNDERSTAND!

        • mistified

So are you voting for Obama? Please tell me me who I should vote for, I'm so confused. Either Romney or Obama, I can guarantee you will be sworn in as Pres. in Jan.

        • cliffvettej

Do like a stupid paulbot and cast a write in ballot for Ru Paul. Your ballot will not even be tabulated in any State. It will be thrown out just as if it had never been cast.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

          Cliffvettej=Romulan

        • cliffvettej

I have had this "write in" issue with you before. I said no Ru Paul write in votes would be counted and you replied it was only in 8 States that a write in ballot would not be counted. WRITE IN BALLOTS WILL NOT BE TABULATED OR COUNTED IN ANY WAY IN ALL 50 STATES. I KNOW you had to know this but you replied back to me with a lie anyway. (typical for a paulbot). Time has expired IN ALL 50 STATES for a write in candidate to register as such. This means that if you write in Ru Paul your ballot will be thrown out. Take your ballot and wipe your butt with it. At least that way it will serve some purpose.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

got a link for that cliff?

        • cliffvettej

Tim, the link to this information was in another article and I researched it and it gave the "write in" rules for all 50 States. The article listed the rules, regulations, and drop dead dates for having a write in candidate's ballot counted. Google it. You will find it. But believe me IT IS OVER for write in candidates in all 50 States. The last 6 States had Sept. 7th as the final date to meet the qualifications as a write in.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

So why not google it and provide the link Cliff? I'm just asking here.

        • cliffvettej

Because you can do your own home work. Google it and read the article.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

that's what I thought, bloviate, no evidence provided.

        • cliffvettej

If you can't google "write in candidate laws" and read the appropriate article rhen you are weak, Why do you ask people to hold your hand through everything. Do something for your self. It's there.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff apparently I have done things for myself. I don't rely on the GOP to give me a candidate or let them get away with rules violations and sweep it under the rug like it doesn't matter and make excuses for them. I also do healthcare just fine by myself without Obama or Romney interfering in it:) Apparently Romulans think other wise.

        • cliffvettej

You are such an immature child ( A Romulan? How more infantile can you get?) and you have the cognitive reasoning skills of a 1 yr. old. You can pick Bozo the Clown (or Ru Paul--no difference) and back him too but it is not going to do you any good. While the rest of us try to make the best out of what we have to work with (obamler or Romney) you whine and complain because things are not as you would like them to be. All of your whining about health care is also to no avail. obamler care is currently in place. Sorry they didn't ask for your input or mine. We have what it is like it or not. Can obamler care be repealed? I'd like to think so but reality is that we are going to end up with something to replace it with. For God's sake quit whining because you have to live in the world as it is and the "World" won't remake itself to suit your personal tastes. Your efforts and arguments bring absolutely nothing to a real world workable solution. If you don't like things now let obamler get reelected and watch just how much further south things can go.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff don't look but your hypocrisy is astounding (ie. ru paul, paulbots) I'm not whining and complaining cliff. IN fact, the point of my entire address is about mormonism and Christianity. You made it about something else. Try dealing with what I actually presented:) The only whining I hear come from people like you Sir.

        • cliffvettej

You have been whining and complaining for months now because the world is not to your liking. The next thing you will whine about is that the sun comes up in the morning and sets in the evening. You are not going to have your way regardless of how much you complain. Thw worls does not work that way. I don't care about Mormonism. You forgot my post about this. I don't believe it will frame his policies. Did you forget about Congress? They will have a part in whatever policies put forward by Romney. I guess you are going to tell me now how "Romney" is going to do this or that without Congress. It's what you use to say about paul. "paul" will get this done and paul will get that done. Baloney. He couldn't get anything past Congress.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

"Did you forget about Congress? They will have a part in whatever
policies put forward by Romney. I guess you are going to tell me now how
"Romney" is going to do this or that without Congress."

Actually Cliff I wasn't the one who promised America I would repeal obamacare on my first day in office. That's your boy Romney. He said it. I asked how was he going to do that. I've not said anything about how he's going to do it. He said it. Take that up with him Ok?

what I said about Paul was he had the right direction and policies. Some things he could do on his own as they were under his control, such as the departments he wanted to close because those are under the executive branch. I suggest next time deal with what you know and not what you assert.

Oh and next time stay on topic. I don't care if you think Mormonism does squat. The point, again, that I was making was the mixing of Mormonism and Christianity.

Now Cliff, take up how Romney will do what he promised on Day one with him ok?

        • http://www.facebook.com/tom.mills.522 Tom Mills

Hey Cliff, did you notice that Ron Paul is not running third party? I guess he does not want to split the vote, perhaps you should honor his sacrifice, hold your nose and vote for Romney. The 42 million babies that would be aborted under 4 more years of Obama, will thank you someday.
Romney has said twice he would attempt to overturn Roe v Wade. THis one decision alone is enough to warrant a vote for him. Obama denies care to babies that survive botched abortions. HE says to put them in a closet and let them die...no joke.

        • cliffvettej

Are you smoking crack? I have REPEATEDLY posted my support of Romney and I am voting for him. I am constantly arguing with the paulbots about there intention to write in paul when any votes for paul as a write in candidate will not be counted. There are certain rules and regulations that each State require if a write in candidate wants to have their votes counted. paul did not meet the qualifications in any State. Consequently, write in votes for paul is tantamount to getting your ballot and wiping your butt with it and then tearing it up. Brilliant choice paulbots.

        • Sinbad

Romney also said he would repeal Obamacare, and now apparently has changed his mind. How do you know he will not do that to R vs W?

        • Sinbad

          Wow cliff.
" A Romulan? How more infantile can you get?"
I think being infatuated and constantly refering to a trans-gender Ru Paul is more infantile.
          Just my opinion again.......sorry

        • cliffvettej

I use the term "Ru Paul" to describe ron paul to show my utter disdain for this POS. I call paul supporters paulbots, as do most other people. But using a term that came from Star Wars that a 6 yr. old would use is infantile. Paulbots are probably Ru Paul's hard core fan base.

        • Sinbad

"ron paul to show my utter disdain for this POS." - You have done that in abundance, if not gone completely overboard cliff. Like I said in an earlier post, you should seek profesional help.
You probably think you are good at it and you are very clever. I think you qualify as one of the most rude and disrespectful posters.
"came from Star Wars that a 6 yr. old would use" - I don't think a 6 yr. old would know much about a movie that came out decades before they were born cliff.
Your perceived cleverness is costing you your credibility. Thanks for exposing your sociopathy.
Outside of that, do you have anything meaningful to add to this discussion?

        • cliffvettej

First I have not gone completely overboard and the only ones that need professional help are the paulbots that blindly follow and repeat every thing paul says. That is why you are called "paulbots". You don't hear "Romneybots" or "obamlerbots". That is because the people that follow the major candidates adhere to the ideology of their Party and will argue forcefully for them but they do not take it to the level of the paulbots insanity. Ru Paul worshippers take advocating for a candidate to a sick and twisted level of insanity that is manic and unstable.. You paulbots make the most unfounded (except in your sick little minds) charges against Romney (such stupidity as "the two candidates are the same"--nothing could be farther from the truth.) ,and, despite all solid evidence to the contrary you maintain your position no matter how insane it makes you appear. Why do you think the mainstream people would not get behind Ru Paul? IT IS BECAUSE OF THE INSANITY AND RIDICULOUS POSITIONS OF THE PAULBOTS. Since you are so behind the times with your opinion of Star Wars let me inform you that there are many young people today who still like to watch the Star Wars movies and like their characters. I have two grandchildren 2 and 5 and they still like watching the early Star Wars movies and they like the "animal type" characters. It is YOU and your fellow paulbots that are sociopaths. Your rants and whines are way beyond the pale. Get some help. Remove the rafter from your eye before trying to extract the splinter from another person's eye.

        • Sinbad

Thanks for proving my point cliff.

        • cliffvettej

You are so far removed from reality that anything you post is just taken as the rantings of an ignorant paulbot--and sane people disregard those because you are way past help.

        • Sinbad

Again, thanks for proving my point cliff.

        • cliffvettej

If you are too lazy to look up the write in laws as they pertain to the process in each State (they are all on one page) then stay ignorant.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff I looked them up, remember? I did it a month ago and was kind enough to actually provide a link for you:) You on the other hand continue to stay ignorant of the real issue when it comes to what I actually posted on and that is the difference between Mormonism and Christianity. If you choose to stay ignorant on that issue then it is willful ignorance.

        • cliffvettej

If you looked up the laws then you would know NO WRITE IN VOTES FOR PAUL WILL BE COUNTED ANYWHERE. And how did religion get introduced into a "write in law" discussion. It is obvious you think Islam is the preferable religion. You make an excellent Muslim.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff, the topic of the post is about lesser of two evils. The issue I first addressed was Mormonism . That's how it got introduced. Pay attention.

        • cliffvettej

"The topic of the post is about the lesser of two evils" and YOU INTRODUCED the topic of Mormonism. Pay attention and stay on topic. I cannot relate to all of the topics YOU INTRODUCE into a thread that has nothing to do with the topic. Next you will tell me that "the topic of the post is about the lesser of two evils" and YOU INTRODUCED the topic of potato salad recipes so I should pay attention.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

That was the title cliff. The content of the topic rested on theology. Notice: Calvinism, depravity and other such words of theological nature, which quite honestly Gary distorted horribly here. No one is saying that men are not a varying degrees of depravity. So yes, Cliff I was right on topic. maybe you should read the article next time.

BTW, I'm sure Calvin would be very upset with DeMar on this article as he would have never put his support behind a polytheistic cult member for any position in Geneva.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

". It is obvious you think Islam is the preferable religion." What in the world? Cliff you are delusional. I agree with what Gary DeMar has taught for years and that is Christian theonomy. I have never promoted Islam. You are just a sad strange little man.

        • cliffvettej

Well Tim "I love obamler" Brown you have railed on Romney's Mormon faith and so I guess that means you prefer obamler's muslim faith over Romney's faith. Again, since you are campaigning so strongly for obamler then you must like his socialism and muslim faith. When you say so much to give aid and assistance to obamler you are promoting Islam by proxy. That is what you are working so hard to keep in Office.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Ahhh Cliff, the either/or fallacy. This demonstrates your illogical argument here. As I've said time and again, and you know this, so now you are just lying, that I don't support Obama, don't support his false Christianity that he claims, nor his Muslim sympathies. I don't like his socialism, but as you have aptly demonstrated you do love Romney's socialism:) You have defended him for anything and everything he has done and will do. Far from promoting Islam Cliff. I take Islam on in the same manner I take on Mormonism, because both are promoting false gospels and false gods. Actually my citizenship is in Heaven Sir and so therefore the gospel of Jesus Christ comes before anything else. That's what I have been working for in this discussion and once again your delusions are showing as you ASSUME so much here.

        • cliffvettej

Your best course of action would be to remain neutral in ALL elections if you are truly a sincere Christian believer. Paul, even though he CLAIMS to be a Christian, promotes and/or foments anti-semitism and the papers published in his name ( and OF COURSE HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING OUT IN HIS NAME. YEAH RIGHT.) promoted racism not seen since the hay days of the KKK. So, I guess if you are true to what you say and you are not just giving lip service then you will remain neutral in this election. Sincere Christians "are no part of this world" and gives their total allegiance to Christ, follows the laws (to the extent that they do not violate God's commandments), gives Caesar's "things to Caesar" i.e. they pay their taxes, and leaves world governments to the "worldly" people to fight over. I am to understand that you are just this principaled? Or do you just like to get your ears "tickled" and do the parts of the Bible that you like and ignore the rest?

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

LOL is that the best you can do Cliff? REally? anti-semitism? LOL. you really look like a fool stating that. You sound like a liberal in stating it too. racism? lol. that must be why he was helping those black people deliver their baby when no one else would. try again cliff. jeez you are reaching and grasping at straws here. just pitiful, so sad to see too.

Nope I'll be voting for the man I agree with cliff, unlike you. You'll be casting principle aside to vote for a liberal with a liberal record who implemented socialism in Mass and his father before him in Michigan. But hey, what's a track record mean in politics anyway to people like you, as long as the guy has an R on his jersey.

" Sincere Christians "are no part of this world" and gives their total
allegiance to Christ, follows the laws (to the extent that they do not
violate God's commandments), gives Caesar's "things to Caesar" i.e. they
pay their taxes, and leaves world governments to the "worldly" people
          to fight over."

Actually Ron, you are completely wrong here and any study of Gary DeMar's works that he has produced would demonstrate that, but you have failed to read them. Calvin would be even better than DeMar on the subject. Rushdoony would also. Gary North speaks to these issues. So apparently you don't know what the heck you are talking about here and it would be best if you were silent on the issue:)

"I am to understand that you are just this principaled? Or do you just
like to get your ears "tickled" and do the parts of the Bible that you
          like and ignore the rest?"

Nope as I said you don't understand a thing:) Actually since the OT encompassed government cliff and God established law and government, then yes Christians are involved in that. IN fact, Christians established America. You do remember the Pilgrims don't you from history? Oh that's right, you don't like it when Christians are in government do you? Cliff more and more you show yourself to be a complete fool for the GOP establishment with silly posts like the one you did here.

        • cliffvettej

Your post is so utterly ridiculous that I will not even respond to it point by point. When one tries to have discourse with a person who belongs in an insane asylum, lives constantly in denial, just dismisses FACTS that they disagree with and most of all says they will be involved in politics "by voting for the man I agree with" when their vote will be worthless is pure crazy.. Just take your ballot and wipe your butt with it you raging idiot. A write in vote for ru paul will not even be tabulated and a vote for Gary Johnson is as worthless an act as you can commit. While the rest of us try and get a better alternative to obamler in Office, sickening, disgusting, worthless pukes like you work to prop up obamler by proxy and chart a course that would likely lead us into chaos and another civil war. You had better hope you have hidden yourself well behind the veil of secrecy that is the internet because you should be a prime target if obamler is reelected. All ru paul supporters should be tried for treason and executed if obamler is reelected. It is my understanding from reading the different internet posts that paul supporters will be the first hunted down. If it happens good riddance to you and all others similarly situated.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

LOL and you know you have truth on your side when all your opponents can do is provide nothing but ad hom attacks. This is what you result too BECAUSE you abandon principle in order to appease your troubled conscience Cliff. In the end you are voting for a socialist. Deal with that. That is the reality you live in.

        • cliffvettej

I do live in reality. You live in a world of make believe. I live in a world where I understand I cannot get everything I want and I am willing to compromise because the other choice is insanity (see the paulbots). I live in a world where I realize that a candidate may not be all I would want but that the alternative is complete and utter chaos (see obamler and the paulbots). I realize that if there is any chance to be better it is with Romney and not obamler and certainly not with ru paul or Gary Johnson. A goal of a responsible person would be to figure out what is the best viable choice (not paul, not Gary Johnson--remember I said "viable" was the qualifier) and at least make an effort to try and improve. You will, however, choose to cast your lot for a total lost cause. Like trying to save the Titanic by bailing out water with a bucket-- "Tim alert"--the boat you are on is going to sink no matter how hard you try and convince others that there write in vote will mean something. Your guy has rightfully got his ass kicked so how about getting out of the way of concerned Americans and let those of us that care try to save what is left of our Republic.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Keep your shirt on there Cliff. Again, no refutation, just blather and name calling. I never said I had to have "everything" i wanted. Unfortunately you don't understand that. And actually the goal of a responsible person would be to vote their conscience, not their party. Viable is all in the eye of the beholder Cliff. Nice try though. Cliff alert! the boat you are on has already sunk and it's carcus is the state of massachusetts. It lies in the wake of governor Mitt Romney my friend. This is the person you endorse, seek to put in office and are putting all your efforts behind. BTW, how's bailing that water on the Titanic working out for you my friend?

I"m wondering if we'll here your whining and complaining come November. Romney cares nothing for a Republic Sir. He's a socialist and has the record to prove it. So did his dad.

        • cliffvettej

Viable is in the words of the Dictionary. It means practicable, workable. In other words everything that ru paul or Gary Johnson isn't. Rasmuseen says in their polls that 3% prefer another candidate. Good job Tim "I love obamler" Brown. You sure know how to pick the biggest loser(s) in the race. I can't wait to see the shock on the faces of the people you have recruited to "write in paul" when they discover that their ballot will not be counted. When you choose a candidate they should be "viable". Refer to the definition. Also, Party trumps person anyway. When you vote for a person you get their Party's ideology when it comes to issues. How about the people that voted for what they thought was a moderate demonrat and then they find out that ANY demonrat is going to toe the Party line. See obamler care. Yes! Voting Party is what you need to do or risk getting the ideology of a racist ru paul or a candidate that is not viable like Gary Johnson.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff "I love and worship at the feet of a polytheistic cult member and socilaist" vettej, I"m not recruiting anyone to write in anyone. I give information and let people make up their own minds. You don't do that. You intimidate them, give illogical arguments about how their vote for one person is a vote for someone else and put on the blame game. Well Sir, if only 3% are for another candidate, then you have nothing to worry about:) Your socialist representative Romney should win with no problem:)

Again, as I've stated before I mentioned my state and provided the documentation, something you are completely unwilling to do.

"Also, Party trumps person anyway. When you vote for a person you get their Party's ideology when it comes to issues."

Really? IF that is the case Cliff, then why is there such things as RINOS? HMmm? Why are there liberals in the Republican party like Mitt Romney? Yeah that's what I thought. You have not though this through.

"Voting Party is what you need to do or risk getting the ideology of a
racist ru paul or a candidate that is not viable like Gary Johnson."

And more ad hom attacks that are completely debunked by actions Sir. Ron Paul is not a racist no matter how much you say it, just like you claim I am an obama supporter does not make it true. However, in your case you are clearly a socialist and polytheist supporter in your backing of Romney and that you can't run away from.

        • cliffvettej

Tim " I Love Obamler" Brown. You are doing more recruiting than all of the Armed Services put together. You "give information". What you give is propaganda and libertarian talking points. But you never, as you so eloquently put it, "though" it through. Rinos are better than demonrats anyday. There were supposed to be "Blue Dog" dummycrats that allegedly would look at an issue and vote according to the wishes of their Constituents. How did THAT work out? Had there been more Rino's and less demonrats we would not have obamler care. I would prefer that those running in the Republican Party be more Conservative but a rino is better than a dummycrat anyday. Party over person all day long. I am sure a good Communist/Socialist like yourself understands that. How does it feel to TRY and be involved in a political arena where your efforts are totally wasted and are of absolutely no use whatsoever? Keep bailing the Titanic Tim "I Love Obamler" Brown. You mentioned your State? Must have missed it. And provided the documentation? Provide both again. I am sure that is information that someone would love to know.

        • http://FrontPorchPolitics.com/ Tim Brown

Cliff "the socialist loving Romulan" vettej, Again not recruiting:) propaganda? and you aren't giving that cliff? Please telling me party is ideology and then failing to deal with the aspect of RINOS is pretty good propaganda dude. I mean seriously, "Rinos are better than demonrats anyday. There were supposed to be "Blue
Dog" dummycrats that allegedly would look at an issue and vote according
to the wishes of their Constituents." Sorry man, that's not ideology, it's dishonesty. That's why they aren't called conservatives or real Republicans.

"Had there been more Rino's and less demonrats we would not have obamler care" And you know this how? Are you God and omnipotent? Again, RINOs are socialist in their thinking too, just not as apt to go down the road as fast, but nevertheless socialists.

"Party over person all day long. I am sure a good Communist/Socialist like yourself understands that."

Ha! again you are the one voting for the socialist man! LOL, it's actually comical to watch you wallow and point the finger while the Republicans you support with "party votes" pulled a serious Saul Alinsky at the convention the other week. So Sir, you demonstrate more in your sheepish going along with the establishment that you love and adore socialism and I would venture communism than anything I could say.

I've said it before and will say it again. I care not for either. I'm just fine with the freedom given to me by my Creator apart from your socialistic dictators on the right or left. But then you love that. You worship at the shrine of statism as you demonstrate in your comments and in your vote.

"How does it feel to TRY and be involved in a political arena where your
efforts are totally wasted and are of absolutely no use whatsoever?"

I dunno Cliff how does it feel? I mean you never get a guy that agrees with you. Oh the pipeline was it? And you don't think Romney has any self interest in that at all? Sir you are delusional then. But hey you have your bucket and are still bailing aren't ya? Bailing for the RNC who just shut down Alinsky style the grassroots voice with a scripted vote. It wasn't even a real vote. At least the guy at the DNC recognized the script didn't fit the vote. RNC just ignored it. So yeah I'd say you are just right in the party ideology there bub.

"You mentioned your State? Must have missed it. And provided the documentation? Provide both again."

Yep was in another thread we were on about this subject. Do your homework:D

        • cliffvettej

Tim "I Love Obamler" Brown. Your last post was so full of rambling mumbo jumbo, nonsense, and the kind of delusional rhetoric that only your posts are known for. Why I know Rinos are better than demonrats is because the ranking Party members can control to a great degree their rogue members and I don't need to have psychic powers to understand this. Your little mind cannot conceive that concept. If I had the cognitive reasoning skills you had I would personally be embarrassed to put it out there for the world to see. The fact that you would back ru paul or Gary Johnson shows you have the intellect of a 3 yr old. How you can spend so much time and effort on a total lost cause is beyond me. Keep bailing the Titanic Tim. That's your new name Titanic Tim. Great fit! Perfect description. Keep your location and identity to yourself. At least for your family's sake. I would never "do my homework" to get any background on you. You are a worthless POS and not worth the effort.

        • MYinsight

ALL OF YOU R0N PAUL SUPPORTERS HAD BETTER UNDERSTAND ONE SIMPLE FACT AND NEVER MIND ALL THE OTHER MINDLESS SO CALL OPINIONS... RON PAUL IS NOT A FRIEND OF ISRAEL. IN FACT HE IS AGAINST SUPPORTING ISRAEL AND WOULD ABANDON THEM ACCORDING TO HIS SEPTEMBER 2008 SPEECH BEFORE CONGRESS. NEVER, EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME HAS ANYONE TURNED THEIR BACK ON ISRAEL WITHOUT INVITING THE WRATH OF GOD UPON THEMSELVES. READ YOUR HISTORY. IF WE AS A NATION WALK AWAY FROM GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE WE WILL BE DONE FOR. WE DO NOT NEED RON PAUL IN THE WHITE HOUSE TO FINISH WHAT OBAMA HAS ALREADY STARTED WHEN IT COMES TO ISRAEL. NOW DO NOT TELL ME THAT ISRAEL IS NOT THE ISRAEL OF THE BIBLE SO THEREFORE THEY ARE NO LONGER HIS CHOSEN... IT MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. GOD HAS SAID IT AND I SEE NO WHERE THAT HE HAS SINCE CHANGED HIS MIND. AFTER ALL, HE IS GOD NOT MAN AND HE RULES.

        • cliffvettej

Paulbots are to the extreme far right of Hitler when it comes to the Jews. I have never in my life witnessed more intense hatred of the Jews than that that displayed by ru paul supporters. The hatred they spew is so far beyond the pale that there are no words to adequately describe them.

        • Sinbad

And sooooo typical of cliff. isn't it?
How sad that poeple like him are able to vote.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Keith-Conder/100000478880519 Keith Conder

Wrong. Some states do not allow write-ins and some do. Those that do allow write-ins will tabulate the vote. Those that do not have nothing on the ballot to allow you to wrrite in a name.

        • cliffvettej

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY WRONG!!! First 8 States do not allow write in candidates at all. The remaining States have write in provisions AS LONG AS A CANDIDATE MEETS THE REGULATIONS. The regulations include collecting enough signatures to meet the write in qualifications, then the candidate has to register as a write in candidate and pay the appropriate fees. ALL OF THESE CONDITIONS HAVE TO BE MET OR THE WRITE IN BALLOTS WILL NOT BE COUNTED. The various States have different "drop dead" dates where all of the conditions have to be met. IF THE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MET THE VOTE WILL NOT BE TABULATED. The last 6 States had a date of Sept. 7th. The bottom line is that any candidate that has not already met the requirements for write in eligibility will not have their votes counted. THIS MEANS THAT ANYBODY THAT WRITES IN PAUL WILL HAVE THEIR VOTES DISCARDED. IT WILL BE THE SAME AS IF YOU NEVER VOTED AT ALL. Like I have said on other posts, anyone thinking of writing in ru paul should just take their ballot and wipe their butt with it. At least that way your ballot would serve some purpose.

        • annieverysorry

You are like so many others who will not give Mitt R a chance. Maybe because you are burnt out because of obama. obama was given four years and he messed up so badly. Mitt R deserves at least a chance to prove what he can do and I really feel he will make an excellent president.

        • DSM

He already had a chance at executive office and, for one, proved to be more anti-gun than Obama. With his combination of past actions and present words, who would vote for him? At least GJ has the record to back up his words - he may not win, but if elections must be a contests of lesser evils, please tell me of a well-recognized moral philosophy in which an endorsement of evil is encouraged - http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2012/07/mitt-romney-the-gun-control-candidate.html

I know we, conservatives, Republicans, Tea Party members, want ObaMAO OUT, but please don't insult people's intelligence by pretending Romney is not a progressive. He is the lesser of two evils, as was McCain, & of course we will vote for him but his record shows that he is clearly not a conservative.
Just yesterday Romney said he will KEEP key provisions of ObaMAOcare such as FORCING insurance companies to cover pre existing conditions & allowing kids to stay on their parents insurance to age 26. These two provisions have caused insurance premiums to skyrocket which drastically affects the ability of SMALL BUSINESSES to hire new employees.

        • grandmaforliberty

at least the Republican party still has morality and values that I can respect....The current president has neither..

        • maryhowland

regardless. I want america back from the muzzies. and sorry but four more years and you will see the trend this country is taking will be full bown. we will be under complete gov. control. so you have to make a choice. what you have now or what we have a chance of having later. a chance at the real america.and i have to differ with you. the republicans do get it. that is why they are wanting a change of government. not what we have now. the democrats are the ones that don;t get it. they are beating a dead horse . this horse is not going to win any races he is only going to run us down more with his big government. we will have no rights.

      • RepubliCratsSuck

The god of Romney you mean??? Is that "returning" to your god??

        • lolajmay

PLEASE, don't be ridiculous! That would be the "Founding Father's". OBTUSE comes to mind. Why do you think Romney would "shove" his God down the throats of Americans, as Obama has tried with the health care? Romney's religion has "evolved" (like Obama has done with various issues) through the years, and their church is involved in many charitable services. There are some "off-shoots" of their church which stick to the old beliefs, but the basic beliefs of the church has improved. Guess this a place where some good ol' RESEARCH comes in. People need to learn TOLERANCE when someone doesn't believe just the same as they do!!!!

        • ViragoVirgo

I'm guessing you don't live around a large mormon community.....if you did, you'd know how laughable your comment is. Non mormons would be well advised to avoid a mormon president. They are as bad as Romney, they change their position based on what is going to get them presented in the best possible light, but don't think for one minute that they actually have made the changes they are proclaiming.

        • JOHN T. FOX

          YOUR DESCRIBING A MUSLIM!

        • ViragoVirgo

LOL well, could be, I don't know much about that, but I live among the mormon community and what I said is very true. The word chameleon comes to mind.

        • Ray

You're a lying sack of puke you piss ant! You don't know the first thing about the Mormons! What a squirm!!!

        • ViragoVirgo

And yet you know so much about me??? LOL.....Actually I do know......as I said, I live in a highly mormon community and know quite a few mormons and ex mormons. Deal with them daily. Not saying they aren't nice people, but what they say and believe are two different things. (I can point you to some websites that will also give more information if you are interested, but I'm guessing you aren't) Ask one about the planet Kolob, or baptism for the dead, or the celestial kingdom or temple sealing, just to name a few.

        • http://www.facebook.com/mark.menenedez Mark Menenedez

Changing positions....flip-flopping! Romney just reneged on repealing Obamacare. That should not surprise anyone since this is what he does. How many times does he have to flip-flop before people realize that this is what he does.......over and over and over. Don't expect anything different. This man is only interested in money and power.

        • thismustend

WHY the negatives? What Mark just said is the TRUTH. Does that mean we will vote for a RACIST, NARCISSISTIC, RADICAL DICTATOR, NO, it does NOT!
Don't make the same mistake as the ObaMAO crowd & blind yourselves to who Romney really is, a progressive light, just like ALL establishment Republicans.

        • grandmaforliberty

He did not say he would not repeal Obamacare... He said he likes some part of it.... He has stated that His administration has a health care plan in mind. He has been open about that fact... As for his religion, other thatn supporting our religious freedoms, that is his business as it hasbee for countless Presidents before him....

        • ViragoVirgo

Where did I say I'm FOR Romney???? My posts are against him..... not sure what you are reading

        • 4Truth

You're biased and stupid but I guess you can't help it. I don't favor Romney but he is an Intelligent business man who has the ability to turn things around if the people help. I'm sure he's asking God for guidance why don't some of you try it?

        • cliffvettej

But a muslim President is okay?

        • ViragoVirgo

Where did I say that? I am not for Romney or Obama. I don't know anything about muslims so I won't comment on that. I am commenting on what I do know about because I see it every day.

        • ChickenHawk

Don't know anything about Muslims? If you didn't learn anything on 09/11/2001 then use search on internet to learn what will never be exposed on TV Media.
Their method of offering protection for a price (taxation) with intimidation have worked for 1363 years. It was practiced on Christians in Medina where Mohammad lived before Caliph Uhlman of Mecca forced compilation, editing and burning of all various scripts after publishing a final interpretation as the holy word for all Islam. Their Caliphate blood line control still exists in Saudi royalty. Saudi royalty composes the second biggest owner of News Corp.
Why should they stop now? When their numbers reach 5% of the population of any geographical area their intimidation becomes undeniable. Does intimidation and taxation from the white house today seem even vaguely or suspiciously representative of the Wahhabi trained mouthpiece and staff of 74 residing there? Does the flood of constitutional override in executive orders and the railroading and blocking of legislation not sound the same "one if by land and two if by sea" alarm spread by Paul Revere?
If you're waiting to be notified by the TV media, it will be far too late when they do. What were once expected to be watchdogs for the populace have become neurotic mad dogs waiting for another administrative or party bone. They yield more dangerous potential than either the DNC or the RNC. They vary very little from either conservatives, liberals or politicians posing as patriots except that they render the whole truth only when necessary to maintain advertising market share.

        • ViragoVirgo

Actually I don't buy into TV media nor do I watch it. I am also NOT an Obama supporter. Feel free to comment on what I DID say but don't make assumptions or put words in my mouth. I was stating my experiences in reply to a comment about Romney. Nowhere did I say I support Obama. I do not comment on personal experiences with Muslims because I have not had any personal experiences with them.

      • God Calls Me Olivia

If you mean Jesus Christ and God the Father of the Old and New Testament, He does not have His true believers living in fear, doing actions like turning to evil men for safety. He says to humble yourself and pray to HIM, trust HIM, believe in HIM, if you want protection, not a man. Returning to God is returning to doing what is righteous and it has to be of faith in Jesus (Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him:..." and Romans 14:23 ..."but whatsoever is not of faith is sin." When you are in fear you are against God, because you are not trusting God. James chapter 1 will tell you what you will get from God when you ask of God without faith. Even for true salvation you have to have faith and confession with the mouth (John 1 4:2). You are confessing fear not faith. No man, especially one who willfully consistently sins will save us. Confess your faith in God and trust him. The truth is that there is no other way to get through this. True Christians who continuously humble themselves before God, continuously pray to God in faith, and continuously confess their belief in His power and protection, will not be disappointed in Him.

I totally agree. We are not to operate in fear. It's all about grace and operating "in the Spirit." Fear is the opposite of faith and any actions that spring from fear are operating in "the flesh."

With that said, no politician is going to "save" us. I know it wasn't your comment but I totally disagree with the article regarding Ron Paul getting only 10%. Because people are afraid as you so clearly pointed out, they are voting in desperation (not out of trust in God) to get Obama out. (and I all for getting him out). If the playing field were level and media wasn't controlled I think Paul would clean his clock easily. The last Rasmussen poll showed him a hair ahead of Obama a couple of months ago and Romney a hair behind. Once Paul started asking him hard questions, Obama would be back peddling so fast he'd trip over his own feet. Something I don't think Romney will or can do.

It's also worth mentioning no president in recent history has won by more then 10 million votes. And on average 90 million don't vote. I have heard repeatedly folks who said they hadn't voted in years or ever that would vote for Paul. Do the math. The media along with the entire Ponzy Scheme money system is deathly afraid of Paul. As far as an honest money system goes, there is no dif between Romney and Obama. The both are "owned" by the system.

        • 4Truth

Jim Gray, Personally I don't operate in fear,I operate in facts. I see you are totally biased and don't operate in facts but assumptions. Romney can turn this around with help. Too, votes for any third party candidate is a vote for Obama. And the fact we're in the situation we're in now is because of the Millions of voters who don't vote. Excuses? They just don't care to do anything but complain. If people would do their duty and vote Politicians would soon realize they answer to the people and if they don't listen to the people they will be voted right back out or impeached. The voters by their indifference contribute to the corruption they complain about. Romney is not a bought man, he is a Christian of high moral character and a business man who knows how to run a business and Government is a business. Wake up and vote for America. Vote Romney, then vote good men into the Congress and the Senate. Then keep them on their toes by emails and faxes and checking their records. It won't be easy and it will take all of us and time. Yes, pray and ask God for guidance for God says if my people turn around and ask me I will heal the Land
          .

I think if you look closer to the situation maybe you feel mitt made money and as the oppisition is trying to do is make him look worse than barry. guess what. not in a million years can he be as bad as barry. but if you tanyhink barry may be better than do what you gotta do. The man running against him may have faults as we all do but he is still an amertican and wants us to succeed. this is his country too. you think he wants to live in a terrible america? I believe him when he wants to make it a better america..if you ca see no difference between the two why waste your vote. . I do get alittle disgusted when someone thinks a muslim is not as bad as an american for president. I am sorry if I offenedyou but of corse you are going to read negative things about mitt they will write anything even lies to make him look bad. but you know after four years what we got and i would not bet on a horse i know is lameother than bet on a horse that has potential. so lesser of two evils? so is he evil cuz he;s morman and rich? who in the white house isn:t rich. and did he make his money crooked? the people in the white house got rich taking our money and using inside trading. mitt made his money working. they made their money by sitting on their asses. well to me i see no contest.I don;t believe anything these barry people put out.. Ron Paul is a good man but knew he wouldn:t get the votes he needed. he only hurt the republican party by throwing his hat in the ring. he should have gotten behind mitt and helped him. this would have been a better plan for him.this took votes away from the republican party which helped barry. I like ron but he didn;t help us.

The police state started by GW will proceed apace, as planned, under Romney, you can be sure. Ryan voted for every unconstitutional bill GW signed-- US Patriot Act, creation of gestappo agencies like TSA, Homeland Security, suspension of Habeus Corpus, and the NDAA under Obama. Bush even said "Romney is most like myself."
We have huge detainment/concentration camps with attached "medical" facilities that were built under Reagan/Rex 84 and expanded ever since. No the repuglicans won't save you.

The problem with your argument is that if you're not happy with Romney after 4 years in the White House, you'll be back here with the rest of the "anybody but the Democrat" crowd demanding we support Romney in 2016. After all, you'll say, he's better than Hillary (or Biden or Villaraigosa or whoever they run). You'll castigate us, saying that if we refuse to vote for Romney, it'll be a vote for Hillary or whoever. Nope. It's time to do the right thing even if that means four more years of Obama. Even if it means radical socialist appointments to the bench. If we don't make a stand, we'll ALWAYS be given candidates like John McCain and Mitt Romney. It's time to tell the kingmakers that we WILL NOT support their repackaged moderates. Besides, even if Obama is reelected, a conservative Congress can stop him at every turn IF they show some chutzpah. A Republican-led Senate can refuse to seat any of Obama's nominees. So quit saying that it's my fault if I refuse to vote for Romney and start pressuring the cowardly Congressional delegation that backs down from Obama and anyone on the Left (and that means Boehner, McConnell, Ryan, Cantor, etc.).

      • Barto

Bill Dolack, you do lack common sense as do most people with thought process such as yours AND no it's not just your fault if Obama goes back in, that fault will lie also with those who actually vote for him AND those who really want a change at the top!

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

See my response above referring to a gutless Congress that COULD stop Obama but refuses to do so. Because they refuse to do their job, you blame those who won't support a liberal (yes, liberal) Mitt Romney.

        • Barto

Bill Dolack......I would vote for you before I would vote for Obama, the worst person to ever hold the office of President of these United States and I never thought anyone could be worse than Carter! So just sit at home like others will do and in doing so help Obama get re-elected. If you think Romney is a liberal along the line of Obama, then you need more help than I can offer you!

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

Who said I'm sitting at home? I'll be voting, most likely for Virgil Goode, as well as for the Senate and House (hopefully, they'll fulfill their constitutional duties and be a check and balance to either Obama or Romney).

        • Barto

Who is Virgil Goode??????? And you say you'll be voting for the House and Senate which beckons the question, "how do you know you will be voting for the right someone", as you don't sound very sure based on your use of the word "hopefully"!

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

@BVzSOroIWY:disqus: Goode is running on the Constitution Party ticket. He's a former Congressman (served as a Dem, Ind, and Repub). As for Congress, I'll cast my votes and hope that my Rep and Senator both stand up to the party establishment and serve as a check and balance. I don't know if they will. The party system is so corrupt that subservience to your leaders is "necessary" to move ahead. They expect you to do what's best for the party, not the country. But I pray they'll do what's best for the country. That, of course, would include voting against Obama's appointments, agenda, etc.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000190583881 John OMalia

You missed the entire point of the article. No one will notice if you don't vote for Romney. Folks might take notice if you run for local office as a third party and win. That's doable. Winning for now on the national level is not. Encourage your friends to do the same thing. Reclaim our cities and states before you try and reclaim our country.

        • argusmanargus

John, no one will notice if you vote for Romney and he loses. The thing here is you and Gary D are not being forthcoming.. you are accusing Ron Paul type supporters of hijacking the party.

Quit beating around the bush and say so.

I for one, left the Republican party 8 years ago, very disillusioned, but Ron Paul helped me see politics even at the national level doesn't only have to be one of two choices.

I have no disagreement with you on your point; Ron Paul supporters must put their money where their mouth is and start running locally as third party candidates.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alice-Ingham/1231190556 Alice Ingham

But, what you don't realize is that if you people vote for Ron Paul it will be LESS votes for Romney and we just can't afford to chance that.. we need all votes to go to Mitt Romney so that we can get Obama out !!! Please think !!! We can not take anymore of Obama. In another 4 years you can vote Paul.

        • ViragoVirgo

I wouldn't vote for Romney if he was the only candidate running. And I won't vote for Obama either. If Romney loses it's because the GOP put up a crap candidate and expected the sheep to do what the sheep always do and follow blindly along. Put up a candidate worth my vote and I will gladly give it. This time, that candidate is Gary Johnson. And anyone living in a blue state that votes Romney, your vote is just as "wasted" as mine by your logic because he has little chance of winning a true blue state.

Have any of you noticed the Muslim congressmen we now have; they want sharia law in the USA. Have you ever heard the Muslim/Islams want to take over the world? So does it matter if people keep voting them into offices.....local and federal? As they grow stronger, our government will become weaker. So would you want that? If some you think women's rights are threatened, wait and see after the Muslim radicals take over; maybe not in some of our life times, but down the road our children and grand children will have to deal with it. RESEARCH!!!

        • lolajmay

Yes, it matters who you vote for. Do you have any idea what will happen if Obama is re-elected? No one knows for sure, but armed with the happenings so far in our country, it's not going to be pretty. The cities and states don't know what to expect until Obama is out. The federal election is coming up fast, so there is no time to fix local. Don't know where you got the idea that Federal can wait!!

So you want obama to have the oppertunity to apoint some more liberal progressives to the supreme court, issue executve orders, direct the federal departments to destroy the country, and the DOJ to stonewall any charges except the ones it is told to prosecute. There is no cure for stuid.

If Boehner and company did their job, Obama could be stopped. But instead you guys want to blame those who refuse to vote for a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, big government candidate (that's Romney, by the way). Tell me what damage Obama can do if a Republican majority Congress had the GUTS to deny him radical justices, to cut off the flow of $ to departments that are unconstitutional or acting against the best interests of the American people? NONE! But the only difference between Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and their cronies and the Dems is packaging.

Some of you posting in this thread fail to grasp the concept. Voting anyone but a Democrat is pure ignorance. You vote the strength ogf your convictions. If your candidate of choice does not get nominated (and none of mine did), you have two options, sacriffice your convictions and vote for the best of who is left or you don't vote. My first choice was Herman Cain. Being the greatest single threat to unseat Obama, his trolls were out in force dredging the depths of the gutter for people to take him down with. It worked flawlessly. I then switched to Ron Paul. He did come in second in delegate count, as I had been saying all along. But, no one wanted to listen during the primaries. So, now we are left with a choice between a marxist and a marxist-lite. Hehehe, yeah I am of the opinion if you are going to do something, do it all the way, do it 100%, not just half-heartedly. For that reason we need Obama and anyone like Obama until the people are so sick of liberalism and their witherinng, dieing liberty that they finally wake up and vote not only the President associated with him in the congress as well.

It wasn't a game when Romney cheated and changed rules at the convention to make sure non-establishment candidates couldn't challenge for the vote anymore. Not a game at all. Think of it this way - the rule changes Romney pushed through in this convention would have prevented Ronald Reagan from ever getting elected. Is that who you want to vote for? No way I will - Romney (the inventor of Obamacare and enemy of the 2nd amendment) is no better than Obama.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

Neither one deserves to be President. Neither one is good for this country. Both are liberal, big government, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual candidates. But you're willing to vote for a man who will lead America down the exact same path as Obama simply out of fear.

        • lolajmay

BOB and Robert, so you would rather have our government become socialist, or worse? That is one hell of an attitude!!! Looks as if you aren't paying much attention to what is being said all around you. As a 75 year old, who was a Democrat until this year, I have never been so frightened for what happens to this country. If you would be so kind, look into some of the above posts I added today, and please search out some of the topics and names...do an online search. I'm not telling you who to vote for, but I would think a person would want to have some information before you make your choice!!!!!

        • Bob in Boston

You should try living in Massachusetts - conservatives in Massachusetts know what a horrible leader Romney was from experience. You may be 75 years old, and it sounds like you've done some research, but no amount of spin can cover the fact that Romney *cheated* to get where he is, and changed the rules so he can't be challenged in the future. How can you possibly, in good conscience, vote for him?!?

      • argusmanargus

Sums it up about right Bill. What you have written convicts me. I'll be voting Gary Johnson, or some other eligible 3rd party in my state.

I see more and more either I'm not a Republican, or the Republican party has gotten really off track.

        • JOHN T. FOX

          ITS THE RINO PARTY!

        • lolajmay

OMG, the Democrat party is so off-track it's pathetic. I was a life-long democrat until this year, and this Dem party is not my or my parents Democrat party! At 75, that is what it is!!! ISN"T!! Vote for another party and you take a chance on getting the wanna be king/dictator back in office. Speaking of off track!!!

        • chester1818

You should have left the Democrats sooner. Sorry. Have fun!

      • DrBarbara

"It's time to do the right thing even if that means four more years of Obama." You must understand this--If Barry is re-elected there will be no more elections. We won't have him for just four more years. We will have him from now on. If he wins, America dies.

        • lolajmay

Yes, I have been saying that wherever there is a place to post! Saying it for weeks now; talking till I'm blue in the face!!! Obamaites need to do the RESEARCH that anyone with half a brain could do. We must fight for our USA!!!

        • JOHN T. FOX

YOUR PREDICTING OUR PRESENT SITUATION, NOT THE FUTURE. THIS NEXT ELECTION IS MOOT BEFORE IT HAPPENS! THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION HAVE BEEN DETERMINED BEFORE ANY VOTES HAVE BEEN CAST, FOR THE VOTES OF OVER 40 STATES WILL BE COUNTED IN BARCELONA SPAIN THIS TIME AROUND!

        • cliffvettej

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! That is an internet ruse. Ballots WILL NOT be transmitted to Barcelona for counting. That is so insane that people will buy into such crap. A few weeks ago I got an email from an alleged "soldier" overseas smearing Starbucks about coffee for the troops. It sure looked good on paper but when due diligence was done it was found that someone with a axe to grind against Starbucks started the whole internet ruse. Starbucks has, in fact, donated millions of dollars of coffee to the troops. Quit passing along internet B.S. without fact checking it.

      • Bob in Boston

I'm with you - we get horrible candidates like McCain and Romney because the useful idiots believe it when their GOP handlers say "you need to vote for our crappy puppet candidate otherwise it'll be the apocalypse!" Sorry, but Obomney is no better than Obama and it doesn't really matter which one wins - they both suck. Hopefully if Romney loses by a landslide, some of the Republican leadership will get fired and we can start having real elections again and get a candidate who can beat the Democrats instead of losers like Romney and McLame.

        • JOHN T. FOX

          YOU UNDERSTAND. WELL SAID!

        • gypsieghostgirl

If Obama wins...there will not be another election. As for those that believe that Congress will stop or slow him down...HOW MANY Executive Orders has he made already?

        • Bob in Boston

This is the kind of "apocalypse" talk they want - good job. Remember, it was Bush who passed the Patriot Act and Romney who invented ObamaCare. I don't want Obama back in office, but it's not like Romney or Bush are any better - we need a complete change.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

gypsieghostgirl, he's signed quite a few. The problem is Congress! The Republicans control the House. The Republicans have a huge say in the Senate (with 60 votes needed in most cases). Why haven't the Republicans stopped Obama? Why haven't they cut off his funding? Why haven't they performed their constitutional responsibility to be a check and balance? BECAUSE THEY'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM! Good luck if you think electing Romney will change anything.

      • lolajmay

Misguided, to say the least. Obama can now appoint anyone he wants to fill positions. The Congress has made itself irrelevant by now. Romney is NOT McCain. He know business--which is quite better than Obama, who knows nothing about most topics.....the same as he didn't know when he was elected! We may not get the choice to choose a president if Obama is re-elected. He is positioning to be a dictator....have you not been paying attention? It's never too late to start.....well, after the election it will be, so hurry up!! Romney has some scruples and does not lie, as Obama and his cronies have ever since he was (and still is, never stopped) campaigning the first time. He has told so many lies, he has lost track of them. Do you want the Congress to be irrelevant, to be led by a socialist, marxist, muslim president? Have you noticed Obama says whatever he needs to say to different groups; as in, dialect of black, southern, chummy, cutesy, etc. That is not the trait of an honest person. Romney does not change his manner of speaking wherever he speaks. If it's the wealth of Romney that bothers you, maybe you don't know he gave his Father's inheritance to charity, took no salary as governor, no salary as head of the Olypmics, and gives more to charity than most of earn in a year, or longer! Obama has given a very small percentage of his "wages" to charity. To me that says a lot about a person. So, you need to get busy and do some soul-searching, and internet searching.

        • Guest2

LOL Romney has scruples and doesn't lie...that is priceless, sounds like YOU need to pay attention LOL, He doesn't change his manner of speaking wherever he speaks (ok, I have to agree there, he always sticks his foot in his mouth and makes an ass of himself)....as for not taking a salary and inheritance, who cares...he can afford to. If he was so generous he'd keep his money in the USA and help the economy here. He wouldn't bankrupt companies and send the jobs overseas leaving people out of work. I've talked to too many who were under his governorship that have warned that he is not what we want....think I'll listen to them. Turn off the TV.

        • cliffvettej

Give examples of where he always sticks his foot in his mouth and makes an ass out of himself. NO ONE is as horrible as obamler. Nothing ANY Republican could say or do is as bad as obamler. The only people in Massachusetts that did not like Romney was the demonrats whose ass he kicked. You "have talked to many". You haven't talked to anyone. Lying POS.

        • Guest2

Why don't you turn off your TV and go read a few news articles about speeches he's given where he has made gaffes and put his foot in his mouth??? They are easy to find if you look. And I'm NOT an Obama fan. So who's the lying POS now????

        • cliffvettej

Just as I figured. You have nothing. What you may call a gaffe could be a statement made by Romney that does not agree with YOUR ideology. That does not make it a gaffe. No one pays more attention to the news than I do. No one. I have heard no "gaffes" or statements where Romney put his foot in his mouth. YOU are still the lying POS.You are making charges with no substance but your word and I would not believe a word you post even if your tongue came notarized. PROVE IT. YOU CAN"T!!!

        • Guest2

Took ONE google search. Just goes to show that people rely on the "news" to tell them the truth instead of doing a bit of research on their own. Try READING sometime instead of TV, it's usually more accurate and unbiased. You'll have to copy and paste these in and replace (dot) with an actual dot because this site blocks posts with links apparently. I'm hoping you know how to copy, paste and replace.

        • Guest2

I don't have a marxist messiah. I am not an Obama fan or a Romney fan. But good job jumping to conclusions. I've done enough research to figure out that neither one is that much different from the other on key policies. Maybe you should do the same, but that would require that you put down your drool cup, turn off your TV and climb out of your basement.

        • thismustend

Romney lies, don't lie for him. He just decided to back key provisions of ObaMAOcare.
Vote for Romney, the lesser of two evils because ObaMAO is a crazed, RACIST, narcissistic DICTATOR & FAR more dangerous than most think.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Dolack/769723463 Bill Dolack

Romney doesn't lie? "I've been a hunter pretty much all my life." "I've been a lifelong member of the NRA." "I'm pro-choice, no wait, I'm pro-life." "I believe in traditional one-man, one-woman marriage." "I believe in civil unions." "I'm the most pro-gay candidate."

@156edeff79a5ac48484ffcfcf1233bce:disqus: You don't need to convince me of Obama's traits and agenda. I know about that already. But if any research is needed, it's researching Romney's record. Forget what he's saying NOW. Look at bills he signed, people he appointed, causes he supported. Both Obama and Romney are liars. Both are bad for the country.

      • JOHN T. FOX

        YOU UNDERSTAND. WELL SAID!

      • chester1818

Exactly. We could get a real choice and a candidate that we can truly support like Sarah. A word about "throwing away your Vote". Since when did the popular vote count? Its a state by state vote. Period. In Connecticut its already over-the Democrats win as they have since Reagan. So I am not the least bit intimidated by those who chastise me for writing in Sarah. Their vote, mine, and many others just doesn't matter. Its over in CT and Obama gets our big "7" electoral votes. Big deal; the Republicans and Democratic machines have already figured that into their "winning combinations for Tuesday, Nov. 6th. Finally, a conservative House and Senate could stop or slow down Obama in his second term and that's the best we can hope for and frankly, its what we will get.

      • thismustend

Are you REALLY this stupid? ObaMAO has bypassed congress routinely, give him another term where he has NOTHING to lose & this country is done. We could be already but we might as well go down fighting.
The key to changing the Republican party is the Tea Party. Keep running REAL conservatives & VOTE for them! BO ENER BOY CAN be voted OUT, so can McConnell, Cantor, Graham & the rest of the good old boys/girls. They, politicians, will NEVER allow term limits so WE have to encourage candidates to run against the establishment & then SUPPORT THEM with money & votes.

    • JOHN T. FOX

IF OSOMA OBAMA IS RE-ELECTED HIS REIGN OF TYRANNY WILL BECOME WORSE THAN HITLERS! WE WILL HAVE AN ELECTRONIC CURRENCY AND WE WILL BE SLAVES OF THE STATE! IF WHITE OBAMA IS ELECTED THE DESTINATION REMAINS THE SAME. ONLY OUR TIME OF ARRIVAL TO A HELL ON EARTH WILL DIFFER!

While I agree with you, it might be noted that nobody has any idea who this Davis is you are talking about...

      • usluv

Frank Marshall Davis is believed, by some, to be Obamas real father. He refers to Davis several times in his faux biography. Davis was a communist from Chicago who was working in Honolulu as a writer for a communist paper and did photography(kind of porno)on the side. He had several pics of Ann Durham(Obamas mom) in compromising poses. The theory is that married Davis fathered barack and Sr Obama was just a pigeon. Lots of articles on this out there.

  • chester1818

As a true conservative I get tired of the lie that 50% of Americans do not pay income taxes. Every working person pays Social Security income tax and medicare income tax starting at the FIRST DOLLAR EARNED. Those taxes are based on your Income without any deductions. Let the people spend their own money; they'll do a better job of it as Ronald Reagan said. No medicare taxes until you reach 45 and no new social security recipients and no social security taxes after 20 years(2032). Now there is a conservative thought. Ask Mitt to endorse it. I will concede that he seems the lesser evil. Have fun!

    • gbsmitty

Remember...in FDR/LBJ/BHO-ese (that is progressive-ese) Social Security and Medicare are not taxes but insurance-like Obamacare. Now, Conservatives are not gullible enough to think this true in fact (if not in principle) but why should they allow the fascists on the left to have both positions in their corner. Either half the country is paying no tax or the liberals are lying...it's their choice.

      • chester1818

Of course, go with the liberals are lying. This is our conservative best shot. Obamacare hurts small business and the taxes(and other penalties) are regressive. Hence they hurt the Democrat base. Don't try the crap about judge appointments. Bush appointed Roberts. End of debate! Have fun!

    • cliffvettej

Social Security and Medicare tax ARE NOT income taxes in the sense that they were referred to in the article.

      • chester1818

Yes they are and shame on us for using this false argument when we should woo blue collar workers. The Democrats have betrayed them with all the regressive taxes in Obamacare.

  • John Pirtle

Extend the Social Security Payroll tax up the income levels to billionaires. You want to fix the debt?

    • gbsmitty

If you admit Soc Sec is a tax then the whole program is a lie. It works for me (do away with it) but most Americans prefer the fiction that they paid for their retirement as an annuity. It's not true, of course, but it's good food for the sheep.

      • John Pirtle

The fact is there is NO TRUSTFUND. It has been used and spent as a tax for decades. But since we have used it as a tax, lets let everyone pay it eqully.

  • dean29685

First to your statement decrying the lessor of two evils often we were right and in fact did just that and ended up with Obama and before him a line of non conservative occupiers in the White house which lead us to were we are today, another progressive republican running as the lessor of two evils. Who has already lied to us on the repeal of obama care
and telling us how nice Clinton was, after he wins the primaries. I am sick and tired of you sanctimonious party hacks who want us to sell our souls to the devil for YOUR personal
    ego or gain.

  • Baycommander

I would rather vote for some one I want and not get him then vote for some one that I don't want and get him. I will write in Ron Paul. I am not a conservitive neo or other wise I am an strict constitutionalist. Romney wants war and as a Viet Nam vet my family and I would never vote for Romney

  • Classic_Liberal

The criminals in the Republican party changed the rules at the last minute to prevent Ron Paul from taking the stage because they are scared that his message might wake people up to their corruption. These rules changes are also meant to shut the Teaparty faction out of the process as well and keep the establishment fully in charge. So much for the Teaparty doing more within the Republican machine.

I do not understand how any conservative can support this system any longer in good conscience. There are other candidate on the ballot but the establishment from BOTH parties will prevent us from even hearing what they have to say in the debates. Now if all you neocons that tell me I should vote against my conscience for the hand picked puppet Romney just changed YOUR vote for someone else then Obama would not be reelected and we would show the establishment that we are in charge and we as mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.

The Republicans lost a huge opportunity to pick up the youth vote for the first time since I began voting in 1976 and will lose the election because they can't win without people like me (don't live in my parents basement) and the young people that wanted to join the GOP. If Obama is reelected it won't be my fault it will be the fault of the Republican party. I mean, COME ON! McCain, Dole, Bush 1 and 2????? Really. Fiscal responsibility????? Really. Smaller government??????? Really. The GOP has not lived up to their promises so GOOD BYE!

  • ORRonin

I love Ron Paul's ideas. They are right on as far as most of what he has been espousing. However, I will vote for Romney for the reason that the whole concept there is no difference between Obama and Romney is preposterous. If you are so blinded to the truth that there is an enormous difference between these men, let me simplify it for you.

Mitt Romney is a good and moral man. Barack Obama is not. That alone is a huge difference.

Here's another. I fully realize that there might not be a way to salvage this blessed nation, but if there is a way (and I happen to believe there is a way to do this, with God's help) who do you trust more to see what needs to be done and to implement the corrections needed? Obama? Or Romney?

Obama wants us to collapse. Romney wants us to succeed. I will go with the person who at least has the potential to make the hard decisions necessary to save this wonderful nation. Voting for Obama, voting for Paul, or sitting out this election means you have already written us off.

And don't think for a moment I haven't thought this through with all of the various ramifications involving the Fed, the national debt, the CFR, and the rapidly approaching collapse of the dollar. I am aware of all of it. I have been reading and studying and thinking about all this for a lot longer than most of the readers of this blog have been alive.

I will not waste my vote, and I will cast it for a good and moral man (or woman) every time. Four more years of this administration and there will truly be noting left from whence to save this nation. I am old enough to know the difference between a good and moral man and a charlatan like Obama.

To even couch a discussion of Romney in terms of being a lesser of two evils is juvenile and demonstrates a disturbing lack of discrimination. There is nothing evil about Mitt Romney. He might not be as strict a constitutionalist as I like, and he might not be from my particular branch of Christianity, but to think of him as evil in any way is inane.

    • facelessforce

Good and moral? Since when is stealing votes and blocking all with the right to speak good or moral? Check the dictionary as to what the word Moral means! This is directed at BOTH parties.

      • Edward53

What you said: "The establishment leadership in both parties has worked hard to keep competitors out." And that's bad for the American people, who need a more moderate choice than the two contentious extremes we're forced to choose between every four years, like a multple-personality disorder, or happy/sad mask, depending how you wear it; does not foster long-term stability or rational thought or peace or prosperity. Also you said "With nearly 50 percent of the American people not paying federal taxes
and actually getting money from the government and 50 million people on
food stamps, what side of the political spectrum do you think they will get behind? It won’t be the conservatives (or libertarians)." ...but you make that sound like a BAD THING! And what about the freebies to corps? ...like the subsidies billionaires got to move US factories and jobs to communist Red China! Like that never happened, and all the hungry people are just leechers and takers, of low moral character, ad nauseum. What about the $16 TRILLION the Federal Reserve gave itself (EU banks) between 2007 & present according to Ron Paul's website. We keep hearing from conservatives that poor people are what's destroying this country.

It's not the lesser of two evils but people who no longer recognize vice for what it is or try to repackage it as something else, like "The Virtue of Selfishness." Jesus preached abundance and worked miracles that go beyond "conservative," stingicrat, belief-in-scarcity. Are we there yet? No, and we never will be if selfish conservatives keep getting their way.

  • Mark W Lowry

Have we ever had a President who did missionary work as a teenager, living on money he worked and saved for two years? That seems to be a man who lives the life he believes.

It is rare to see that type of person with loyalty to the country and We the People instead of demonstrating loyalty to Islamonazis as a world citizen.

If the limit is to never vote for the lesser of two evils, that is a limit that will prevent everyone from voting at all.

This election, is one where a person can vote for a person who has the virtue and integrity to be a better president than the criminal currently in the White House.

It is our duty to remove any elected official from office who blatantly violates the law. If you don't do that you don't deserve to call yourself a citizen of the USA.

If Romney is in fact another George Bush, Bill Clinton, or God 'Forbid, another OBAMA, will have to fight our way back to freedom with open warfare.

I am one who thinks there is no chance in the world that Romney can be as evil as Obama.

My thoughts on that issue may change after he is elected and he lies like Obama did, but Romney has to betray his faith and his God to get me to change my mind. That is a big step for any person who is a real believer in Jesus Christ and all that stands for.

    Mark Lowry.

  • John Brashear

it makes much more sense to remove a lot of the rino's than to begin another party, we have to take our party back, and move farther to the right since obama keeps moving to the left in order to maintain a balance that doesn't keep slipping to the left, if we don't the party is simply forced to move to the left because the center moves left

  • facelessforce

You have just proven ALL of the reasons for the breakaways in the GOP because virtue speaks louder than convenience. Gee, that was an ideal of whom now....that's right! OUR FOREFATHERS, who you trample on with every word of arrogance at your theft, corruption and deceit. Be not deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows that will he also reap! The RNC stole, silenced, and mocked those who believe in less government, freedom, justice and truth by strong-arming the very process and circumventing the will of millions who understand why grass-roots members have such sway to hold feet to the fire. You stole the voice of Americans by the gross millions. You will reap that destruction, sometime - somehow - somewhere. The DNC? Same message, same outcome, same future. Worst yet will be the calamity of this nation at the hands of the R's or D's, but it is going to be calamity by the fault of both because the leaders have no soul, conscience or adherence to our founding principles and the God-given right of life, liberty and happiness. You didn't build that, GOD DID, and you won't be able to take it away without consequence.

So she's successful. Is that a problem for you?

      • Edward53

        So what!!

      • RepubliCratsSuck

Obviously, your comment went right over the heads of Dee and Edward53. The majority is seldom right. They have no clue as to what that entity has done to them, their country or their posterity. That is why the "lesser of two evil's" rings so well with most Republicrats. They no nothing except what their parties tell them and cheer for a fake red or blue team, while both are funded by same insidious entities, hell bent to destroy them. But they know it not.

    • RepublicratSuck

Well stated, and true...with people like yourself voting, who will always settle for the lesser of two evils. Enjoy your no-change for the better, no matter with of those two tools of globalist banksters is elected. They are one and same.

  • Eli Jones

I like this article for it shows common sense. I did not vote for that evil, lying, fascist control freak Obama the first time and I will never be that gullible or shall I say stupid enough to vote for him now. Romney/Ryan 2012

I still say that while the main objective is to get rid of the libtards, Communists, and other scum in the Dummycrat party, a theocratic Mormon who bungled the governorship of the worst run state (Massachusetts) in the nation is a mediocre alternative. I'll continue to watch the political landscape right up to 6th November and decide that day whether lodging a protest against both major parties or keeping the Kenyan traitor out of a second term takes precedence.

  • TRUSTYGMA

THIS SAYS IT ALL: Its the electoral votes that vote the president in, its not the people vote, so why do we vote,? IT DON'T COUNT!!!!!! obama did not win by the people vote, that is why he is preaident, the people did not vote him in, it was the ELECTORAL VOTES.

  • joy in tucson

Attention: would be followers of jim jones..who would have known that a president ..(Clinton) who was impeached..have people ewwing and ahhing all over him..because OF A SPEECH.!..
I heard a person say 'he's paid his dues'..REALLY?.He has his popularity and marriage intact..(if that's a plus)
It is sad that the American people are SO desperate for a leader that they will vote for the one who can dispense the smoothest elixer.. It isn't about the fabric of the man..nor the character..IT IS WHO SAYS IT BETTER.!.
Our system has been reduced to a popularity contest..It's not about qualifications.(OUR PREZ HAS NONE!).or experience in the political or private areana..
It is all about the TEAM..NOT..we the people..just republicans or democrats.. whatever it takes to win re-election..
Speaking of which...the prez..couldn't get 'whatever it was he had planned' in 4 years..so instead of trying to perpetuate the problems we have..why doesn't he just step aside?..because he hasn't finished ruining the country quite yet..We're on the brink.. and we can still be pushed over..

I voted for Gary the first time, worked for his reelection the second time as a member of the state central committee, and have talked to him at length on a number of occasions. Obviously I'm a fan.

Equally obviously he has zero chance of doing anything in this election except taking votes away from the only possible alternative to Obama.

        I'll vote for Romney.

        • ViragoVirgo

Let's see, he ran as an unknown Republican and beat the incumbent Democratic in a state 2 to 1 Democrat, and was re-elected by an even larger margin, and you think he'll take away more votes from Romney than Obama????? that makes no sense whatsoever. Sounds to me like the Republicans that don't really like Romney but vote him to get Obama out, are really ruining a chance to get Johnson in and Obama out. And people honestly think there are huge policy differences between Robamney LOL NDAA, no they agree, Patriot Act they agree, Iran/Iraq they agree, TSA/Homeland Security they agree, Obamacare is modeled on Romneycare and now Romney says he'll only replace part of it with his so they agree, Obama did bailouts, Romney/Ryan were for them at the time, so they agree.....what exactly are you getting different with Romney??? Check out Johnson and you'll see that he actually IS different

        • NM Leon

Which party's primaries did Gary run in? For that matter which party's primaries did Ron Paul run in? (Hint: I was a member of the Republican NM Central Committee)

Either one would pull more from Republicans than Democrats.

        • ViragoVirgo

I think my first sentence said he was an unknown REPUBLICAN. I just think he is as likely to take from Obama as he is Romney. And for the little bit of difference you MIGHT get voting Romney, I'd go for Gary. But that is just me. I can't in good conscience vote someone who doesn't represent my interests, and having grown up in NM and seeing the positive impact Gary had despite the odds being stacked against him, he's getting my vote. He has earned it and deserves it. The other two haven't. But again, that is my preference. We all should vote according to what feels right to us individually and I think if everyone did that, we'd be far better off. It is disappointing to see so many people voting for him just because he's not Obama. Don't get me wrong, I get the frustration and the fear driving it, I just can't give into it.

        • NM Leon

If after Nov, you shake your head and ask yourself how Obama could possibly have been reelected, you won't have to look further than your own mirror.

    • GerryC

Neo you have two choices drink the blue colored Koolaid or the Red Colored Koolaid.
I'd rather cast a "right-in" for Ron Paul, than drink the Koolaid.
(Note: The Jim Jones people didn't drink Koolaid brand, but they were all stupid liberals that commited suicide)

  • Lisa

The key is the next president will vote for 2 Supreme Court Justices. Therefore not voting lets O choose two liberals who think our Constitution is "changeable". I am voting for Paul Ryan this year.

  • libertyORdeath

Romney is just as much of a war mongerer if not more so than Obama. sick sick sick you close minded fuxk tards. either way you are voting for the deaths of innocent people. that's right, do a little research for once in your life, would it kill ya?! hope you can sleep at night, not really.

    • gbsmitty

You really need to watch something other that CNN or MSNBC. There are many reasons I might wish Romney might change his positions, but the idea he would wage war on innocent people is not one of them. Obama, by the way, is not a war monger. He's just a weak, spineless tool of the progressive machine that will do anything to stay in power.

  • charles dansreau

there has been enough corruption, misuse of power and selective enforcement of laws by the obama administration to warrant getting obama out as a national and emergency priority. everyone acknowledges that while there are republicians doing their job ethically there are also RINOS that are supporting the obama socialist plan. my suggestion is to get rid of the RINOS, vote for third party candidates in smaller elections but Vote to get obama out. Sadly i have waited for a candidate who will promise that a corruption investigation will happen if they win but it did not happen. will fast and furious go away, solyndra, passing the dream act by executive fiat, failure of the senate to hear budget discussions for 3 years, etc. our main problem is congress passing stuff with 51% votes in a two party system. suggest start of third party but focus on congress and lower for now. We the people must get obama and the socialists out as a national priority and that may mean making a comprise.

BS. I voted for Reagan in 1980 because he was the good fighting against the evil. In 1988 I opposed Bush in the Primary because I saw him as an evil. But I voted for him in the general election on the grounds of voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I was endlesssly promised that if I supported Bush and if he broke the no new taxes pledge they would support his primary challanger in 1992. In 1992 we were attacked by those same people as being "disloyal". I voted against Bush in 1992, left the Republican Party and vowed never to support any of their candidates again. Since then I have voted against every Republican at every level of government and have a clear conscious. (Note also I have never voted for a Democrat except for someone I personally knew and liked who ran for mayor who happened to be a Democrat, he was a real conservative though not a Bushite RINO).
Beware Repub establishment, you were warned, as you were in 2008. No one had won the White House in my Lifetime if I opposed them. Not Humphry, not Ford, not Carter in ('80), not Mondale, not Dukakis, not Bush (in '92), not Gore, not Kerry, and HELL NO never to McCain. You Repubs have two to convince me that my vote for whatever third party candidate that gets on the ballot in my state is something other than an "anyone but Romney vote". I look at it this way defeat Romney and in 4 years we get a chance at voting for an acceptable candidate, elect Romney and we're stuck with Romney in 2016. And as far as I'm concerned on all issue that I care about Romney and Obama are one and the same. So the question are we stuck with Obama for 4 years more or 8 years more. The lesser of these 2 evils is 4 more years.

    • NM Leon

And as far as I'm concerned on all issue that I care about Romney and Obama are one and the same.

You don't care about Supreme Court nominations?

  • peter

@ libertyORdeath Hopefully we will not have to add "Helped Obama get elected to a second term" to Gary Johnson's wonderful record.

  • flaphil

The only evil in this election is the dummycrat slate. Page one: Romney is an open book concerning his history and there's nothing frightening about it. Oblamo can't say the same thing. He's been a mystery all of his life, even his parents were. he was chosen because he was black-white, but now black. Even most dummycrats don't know where he came from or who he is, except a socialist goon that works through intimidation of his enemies.

  • Public_Citizen

Those who advocate for Dr. Ron Paul to run as a third party candidate need to study some recent history, specifically the third party candidacy of H. Ross Perot and the effect it had on the 1992 and 1996 elections. While the effect ~was~ a "game changer", the "message" that was sent was that while a third party candidate will provide a leavening useful to the media it may actually result in an adverse effect on the outcome as viewed from the perspective of those attempting to send a message.
Those who profess the moral high ground by not making a choice are making the choice to allow evil to flourish. The most despicable of all choices.

    • Doski

There is a GIANT Flaw in Your argument P/C.
It is not the Advocates for Dr.Ron Paul who need to study History but the Advocates for the GOP who need to study. If They Had Studied Diligently, they would have Known better than to alienate Dr. Paul's Supporters, which they NEED to secure a victory ! What MOROONS ! If you, too, continue Blame the victims then you can count yourself among them (The MOROONS).

It got past the censors didn't it ?

      • Tommy Ge

Oh stop your whining. Politics is major league hardball. Ron Paul lost, and he needs to get his ego out of the way and support the candidate who has a chance of winning. So what now? You Ron Paul supporters and going to take your ball home and whine and complain? A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. Romney is going to win this election, with Ron Paul votes or not, so you can take your third party votes and stick them in your pipe and smoke them. As I said before, Romney was not even close to my choice, but I do believe Romney has a better vision for America than Obama does.

      • Public_Citizen

I was going to make a slightly politer response to your remarks but Tommy Ge has pretty well summed it up.
I think that Dr. Paul actually understands the situation but too many hard core supporters are living in some sort of once-upon-a-time fantasy that hard ball national office politics is "fair". The reality is that the only thing that matters is winning. Second Place ~is~ the first looser. Third place doesn't even get a seat at the table.

  • David S. McQueen

It's difficult to start a third party and make it viable. Teddy Roosevelt tried the Bull Moose Party and failed. The Republican Party began in response to the Whig Party's stand on slavery and the Whig Party dissolved. The extreme leftists co-opted the Democratic (sic) Party back in the 1960s and you can see the results today with the extremist hater in the WH.

  • Tommy Ge

All you Ron Paul supporters out there need to wake up. Ron Paul has some good ideas, but he is downright looney in other areas. Ron Paul has absolutely ZERO chance of winning. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. I am not thrilled about Romney, he was not my choice, but at least he has a better vision for this country than Obama. You Ron Paul supporters out there also gave us Clinton, because you voted for Perot. Perot, like Ron Paul, had some good ideas, but he also had some looney ideas. I am not happy with the elitist country club Republican establishment types. That's why we need to get energy and money behind TEA Party candidates, and take back the Republican party from the RINO's. Third party candidates have ZERO chance of winning any elections. All a third party candidate does is give the numbers to Liberals. Like it or not, we are a 2 party system. We have to live with it and get behind conservative constitutional candidates and oust the RINO candidates. That's the only chance of taking our country back from the Liberals, or you can live in your fantasy world and continue to support third party candidates and give us more Liberals.

    • http://www.facebook.com/debbie.porter.5851 Debbie Porter

You are so right, Tommy. We can only pray that some on here will listen to reason and not throw their vote away!!! A vote for a Ron Paul or other third party candidate is a vote for Obama and the further destruction of America!! We don't have time to do anything else but throw Obama out, and then do our best to elect solid conservatives to hold Romney's feet to the fire!

    • Doski

      Ge Tommy,
Lets examine YOUR Fantasy for a moment. If we vote for less than we deserve this election cycle the RNC will actually search for a better candidate next election cycle. NOT Gonna Happen because there is NO MOTIVATION to do so. Romney is only moderately better than McCain and in fact Lost to McCain in '08. What lesson was learned by the RNC ? NONE ! What lesson was learned by the GOP ? NONE !What lesson was learned by the Voters ? NONE !
The whole problem with your strategy and that of the author is your willingness to reward yourselves for willingly choosing "Less" Than America, You, The Author, and I, each and as a whole deserve. The cause is Laziness.
In a world where Information is at our fingertips very few voters will MAKE the Time, to read anything more than just the headlines, They then jump to conclusion based upon hearsay. The labels placed upon Dr. Ron Paul and his followers is proof.
I for one CHOOSE not to accept less than I rightfully deserve and accomplish that by Researching and Reading, NOT what is in the Headlines but what candidates Say (In its entirety) and More Importantly observation of their efforts / actions.
Anything less Tommy GE, is like falling into Quicksand, the physical struggle can't extract you but with Education, Knowledge and its Proper Application will.

      • Tommy Ge

With your reasoning, then why even vote for Ron Paul? Just go vote for Obama, because a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. Are you telling me that Obama's vison for America is the same as Romney's vison for America? You Dogski are the one that is in the fantasy world. As I said before, I am not exactly thrilled about Romney, but I do believe he will be better for America than another 4 years of Obama. We do need to take the Republican party back from the elitists, that's the only to defeat Liberalism. Third party is just a wet dream, with no chance of ever becoming reality.

        • Doski

          GE WHIZ TOMMY,
A vote for a third party doesn't Improve Obama's chances by Double as a direct vote for him would. Be careful what you wish for.

      • NM Leon

If you vote for anybody but Romney in this election you are CHOOSING Obama.

The RNC is learning lessons, we in the Tea Party are teaching them. Look at how many of us are the Party's candidates this year.

        • Doski

Yep, You're teaching the RNC that treachery pays off. Brilliant ! I'm sure you'll enjoy their chains more then the DNC's.

        • NM Leon

We are taking over the party from within, as the author suggests. We don't win every battle, but when we lose one we move on to the next. We don't follow your example, whine and complain and threaten to take our ball and go home.

    • Robert Young

The Republican Convention, by the Rules Changes , showed our grassroots conservative members that we have no representation in the 2012 Convention nor in future conventions. Time for a 3rd Party. Vote your conscience for the person you believe would best serve our Country.

  • Doski

The author of this article must be a graduate of "Screw - U". To even suggest that it's better to vote for his Crook, because the Other Guy's Crook is worse, is delusional at best.

Any time you succumb to Acceptance of a 'fair' choice your next choice will be between 'poor' choice and no choice. Guess what, we're there now.

The saddest part of all this infighting and diametrically opposed partisanship is that all the money and time Wasted on Higher Education hasn't raised morality or intelligence in America by one millimeter.

    • Tommy Ge

Yep, and you third party candidate supporters just keep giving us Liberals because a vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. Just like a vote for Perot was a vote for Clinton, let alone all the other elections around the country. Sometimes I wonder if third party candidates are Liberals in disguise, because a vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Liberals. Talking about dumbing down. You third party candidate supporters out there need to wise up. I am not happy with the country club republican establishment's choice of Romney, he was not my choice, but at least Romney has a better vision for America than Obama. Our only hope is to take the Republican party back and elect conservative constitutionalist candidates. We are seeing that with the TEA party in action. Unless you can get a groundswell of support for a third party candidate, which is highly unlikely, you need to get behind the TEA party and take the Republican party back.

      • Doski

If it makes you feel better to blame me for the Idiocy of the RNC , enjoy it while you can.
From what I witnessed, it was the RNC which Abandoned the Tea Party and Dr. Ron Paul's supporters, NOT the other way around as you suggest.
As far as taking back the GOP goes, the RNC just made that a "Bloody Revolution" required event.

Might I suggest you "LIVE UP" to your potential in stead of "Accepting Less" than we all deserve. Hope is for Demoncraps, Action is what Dr. Ron Paul's supporters are all about. Not theory, Practice ! Action speak louder than words ! While many of you claim to "Not Be Happy" with the choices presented by the establishment, going along with them does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to correct the problem as presented. Kicking the can down the road 4 more years (Another Election Cycle) won't change it either. If 40 years of Political Procrastination hasn't taught you people anything, what will ?

  • adamenochnoah

The article is nothing more than damage control from the GOP side of the two-party dictatorship. While giving glowing accolades to the Tea Party (of whom I support) he ignores that ORomney's RNC, has by their cleverly evil last minute rule changes, effectively locked out all grassroots movements in the GOP for years to come.

  • Elan

I will be perfectly blunt. Obama wants to destroy our country and he is turning Americans against each other in order to achieve his goal. Romney is an American who I believe loves our country and will serve America well. If Ron Paul really loved our country he would set aside his egotistical pride and seek what is best for America. Being a whiney loser shows his character and the childishness of his "followers." We already have a meglomaniac in the White House, we don't need another.

I wish George Washington were running in this election, but he isn't. I used to think all eligible Americans should vote, but with the immature, uneducated, and spoiled children coming out of our colleges today, I rather hope they just continuing partying during the election. Drugs, alcohol, perversions and entertainment seem to be the raison d'etre of most this new generation. I have very little hope for our country I'm sorry to say. My hope is only in GOD and having read Revelation, the future is going to be very different from our carefree lives today.

    • Tommy Ge

      Well said Elan!

His son (Rand), just another neo-con! And now, we are losing several good people in the House and Senate. And soon, the US S.Ct will be a lock. This may be the last election in America.

  • GOGOGOGODZILLA

Well, it becomes immediately apparent that De Mar is a complete idiot and a
"Waffen-esque" bootlicker as well. According to "it's" logic, all hope is foolish and any play is pointless, and we should all just settle into the same pattern of enslavement that corruption has produced out of this Bi-polar two party system that is so obviously broken that nearly ANY alternative is acceptable and will be more and more sought the more B.S. we get fed by liars posing as leaders. I often wonder just how such "Pud-nits" even get paid for spouting their lack of brains all over the public, but then that's a different story concerning media corruption, and not this one about bad advice from imbeciles. He has a point about doing third rail politics from the smaller venues and letting that build, but he's COMPLETELY wrong about Ron Paul and his chances in ANY venue. Apparently he hasn't seen the throngs that follow the good doctor, and bases his entire world view on the foolish and propagndized ramblings of pervert toe-suckers like 'Dick' Morris and Krauthammer and that "Oy Vey" crowd so ready to drown out logic with self aggrandized and over-inflated self-serving opines. This one is no different-THEY LIKE TO HEAR THEMSELVES TALK.

    • Tommy Ge

Ron Paul has ZERO chance of winning. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama.

  • An AV fan

Does Joel McDermon read these articles?

  • Joe

    Gary,
Would you have voted for Hitler or Stalin? Would you rather be plundered by the Gambino or Genvese crime family? A vote for either criminal party's " presidential nominee legitimizes their monopoly on power. Not voting at the national level, or by voting for a third party, at least puts TPTB on notices that a growing minority of people recognize that their election is illegitimate.

    • NM Leon

I'm sure many people who stayed at home thinking Hindenburg was a worthless establishment figure later wished they'd voted for him instead of letting Hitler win.

  • Bill

Once again Mr. DeMar says the lesser of two evils when it's actually 3.

Didi not Ron Paul vote for the homosexualizing of our military? Yes he did
Did not Ron Paul say he has no problem with same sex marriage? Yes he did.
Did not Ron Paul say in an interview which is still available on YouTube that he does not believe that God says that this sin is really a sin and he knows better because he's a doctor? Yes he did.
And did not both Ron Paul and his son Rand take million dollar donations from a wealthy homosexual who resides in California? Yes, they both did.

Now Mr. DeMar, does or does not God condemn the sin of homosexuality (sodomy), and anyone who supports this sin? Does God have a problem with same sex marriages? Does God know better than Ron Paul?
And does God know the truth about Ron Paul and all these other wanna bees?

    I believe he does sir.

    Bill De Spain

    • Edward53

      Very well said, Bill.

    • argusmanargus

Link to all these would be nice.

I completely support states rights on the issues of homosexual marriage, abortion, drinking, drugs, and entertainment.

I however, would not vote for the legalization of most of them in my state. That doesn't mean I support them. You guys have to remember we cherish freedom along with justice, and that it can play out at 3 levels, national, STATE, and LOCAL.

Keep this in mind when voting.. trust me, the "sinners" outnumber "the saints" considerably.

  • DJ_Fisher

When faced with a big problem I do what is the smart thing to do, I take it a step at a time using the best choice that I have at that particular moment. Good choices lead to other good choices until the big problem isn't that big any more. Wars are won a battle at a time, the only wars won in one big battle are WW2 with the A-bomb (and that was just one part of the war) or Armageddon (which hasn't taken place yet). We have to imagine that our government is a block of stone that we wish to carve into a beautiful statue and chip away one piece at a time till it is a model of our Republic and Constitutional nation. What has happened is that we have been absent from duty for so long that the stone fell over and is now threatening to crush the artists (Us). The threat is a real problem but we have to remember that we are the artists and we form the government the way it should be and not the government forming us by crushing us under its substantial weight. We step aside and let this huge stone fall. Once it has broken it will be easier to pick up and put on the work bench for us to work with again. We only need to work on the parts we want. The anti-business chunks (EPA, Fed, UN, World Bank) can all stay on the floor broken and powerless. We take the piece of stone that will be our sculpture (Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches) and start chipping away at it again. We must try to remember never to let the block of stone fall off our work bench again under the global weight of being all things to all people. Once our sculpture is done and beautiful other artists (nations of people) can start following our example and carve out their own beautiful statues (governments of, for, and by their people). We must chip the corruption out of our stone. The whole world depends on it.

"The lesser of two evils franchise will say that they will be “sending a message.” Yeah, that they’re idiots." Gary DeMar

Gary DeMar stands up everyday for Christ. His minority Preterist viewpoint, one I agree with, is one that doesn't compromise his principles and yet he writes this article condemning individuals for NOT compromising. Seems a bit off base, bordering on hypocritical. If Jesus was running on a third party ticket would Mr. DeMar still vote for Romney? :-(

    • argusmanargus

Exactly my thoughts on Gary. He is a paradox.

      • GQ4U

Agreed, but he writes some very insightful things on most occasions.

  • grumpyoldman

Then how about "I can't vote for a tyrannical dictator!" who wants to be Commander-In-Chief of our military and has never worn the uniform of his (our) country? Would that one work for you?

Keep voting you fools , continue to expect everytone in the District of Colombia to be at your feet working for your interests .....keep dreaming ....Your founding fathers created a representative Republic . It was replaced with a two party democracy by the Act of 1871 !
Prior to this , you had serveral parties : the southern democrats ( weathy plantation owners
) ; the Wing party ( ruling class elites > people of law , industrialists and bankers ) and the Republican party ( the equivalent of today's Tea party )...

    • Edward53

That would be the Whig Party not Wing Party.

  • GerryC

In 1850 there were 2 "major" political parties the Democrats and the Whigs. The Whigs were the Rockefeller/Bush/Romney types (except that they supported high protective tarifs). They both stood for nothing else than getting and keeping power for themselves, oh and preventing a third party from getting power. The people were smarter back then and they created a Republican Party, soon the think nothing do nothing Whig Party was gone. And no one mourned its loss. I will not mourn the loss of the Republican Party which has become an ideological vacuum a Big Tent with no Big ideas. Thought is not welcome, tow the liberal line or we wil throw you out. No, Mitt you don't get my vote.
WE should just rename the parties for what they are Dems -> Fascist Party and the Repubs -> Pussilaneous Kow Towing Piss Ant Party.

    • Tommy Ge

Romney was not, by far, my choice, but if you want more of Obama, vote for your third party candidate. Believe me, I am sickened by the elitist country club Republican establishment. We need to use the TEA Party to get the Republican party back from the elitists. A third party will not work, never has, never will. We just keep getting more Liberals with a third party dilution of the vote.

I have heard all the reasons why one should vote for D or R for decades. Not once have I seen any evidence that the advocates of this two-party slavery have learned a solitary thing - not once! You cannot even trot out a new argument, you merely recycle the same old logical fallacies.

All are sinners? Fine - then the vote makes no difference. Shut up and stop worrying about it.

If you decide that you don't like Ford or Chrysler, you don't "pick the lesser of two evils" - you buy something else, whether it be Vollkswagen or Toyota or whatever. Your choice informs the producers, who then change their product to better tempt you.

If you blindly buy D or R simply because that is what you've always done, you deserve to get the same terrible outcomes - you have done nothing which could possibly signal the politicians that you don't want the same crony capitalist keynesians that have been offered. There are no "holding your nose" detectors in the voting booth. You don't get a prize if you pick the winner.

Stop rewarding the GOP for nominating crony capitalist keynesians, and maybe they'll try something different. If not, they deserve to fail.

Go and watch 2016 and make sure you take the children and the grandchildren. After all it is their future being screwed up.

Gary Demar................... you lose me more and more with every article your write.

"The Tea Party has done more in two years than the “no lesser than two evil” people have done in 30."

Fox News commentator Juan Williams argues that the Tea Party movement emerged from the "ashes" of Ron Paul's 2008 presidential primary campaign.

Yes, let's not vote at all or vote for a third party. We'll show them what it is to lose and lose big.If we can't get our way, we'll take our marbles and walk away. Our local tea party was talking about this too because the Paul people didn't get their way. It's time to grow up and put on our big boy pants. Obama has all but, destroyed this country. do you really want to throw away your vote and help him complete the process? We really need to keep on top of those who are elected from the moment they are elected. Keep the pressure up on the GOP. If you walk away now or there may not be a then.

Say what you wish, Romney is not a conservative. His history shows he is a RINO but even that is an improvement over the anti-American DIASTER in office.
I remain amazed he ca get his ego thru a door!

    • Tommy Ge

I agree, Romney is no conservative. He was not my choice by a longshot. But I do believe that Romney has a better vision for, and of America than Obama has.

  • Pete

Man is not "completely depraved", he is capable of good.

BHO and Romney are the same, both deny the true God.

    message to Father Melvin Doucette

    July 18, 2012

    There are some people these
days that are teaching falsehood but saying that it comes from Me. Only
My church can teach the true Gospel, which I brought into the world.
There will only be the one Gospel and this is what you are to follow
with all your heart. St. Paul in his earlier days was a persecutor of My
Church. He wanted to destroy the Church I had founded on the Apostles.
At the end I woke him up and he was converted. He came to believe in Me
and he followed the true Gospel all the years after that until his death
as a martyr in Rome. Do not listen to such people as those who belong
to New Age or the church of the Latter Day Saints. There is no truth in
what they teach. Follow Me in My Church and you will be blessed. I am
your Brother who is calling you and who is ready to help you in this
life and bring you home to heaven one day.”

    • Pete

In case you missed Heaven's words...

      July 18, 2012
Our Lord to Father Melvin Doucette:

"Do not listen to such people as those who belong to New Age or the church of the Latter Day Saints. There is no truth in what they teach."

Private revelation said the same in 08 concerning BHO and Romney, neither men are of God. Obama though is upfront about his non-Christian record. Romney is all talk, deceiving, he has no record showing he is for life. He knew his veto of Catholic hospitals forced to dispense the morning after pill to rape victims in Massachusetts would be overturned In the end Mitt sided with the pro-aborts.

  • Marty

The Libertarian Party has been running candidates for every conceivable office for well over 30 years---including for President. You talk of electoral votes? The Libertarian Party's first Presidential candidate, John Hospers, did get one in 1972 along with his running mate, Tonie Nathan. That made her, not Geraldine Ferraro, the first woman to get an electoral vote in United States history. Another flaw in your argument is that if your policy was followed, Jesse Ventura would never have been elected governr, Teddy Roosevelt would never have been elected President and no one would ever stand much of a chance against any incumbent. Not to mention, of course, that your "lesser of two evils" approach GUARANTEES the progressive and ultimate triumph of evil.
I'll say it again and again: A vote for the "lesser of two evils" is still a vote FOR evil and no real good can ever come of it. Not ever.

  • rusureuwant2know

This is pressing the point to ridiculous lengths. Let me say this, we should be voting for "the best man for the job" - and they've excluded him. I will still be voting for the best man for the job regardless.

  • Ann Wilson Kingsley

The lesser of 2 evils is to vote for a Republican House and Senate to curb Obama, and to write-in for Ron Paul to curb Romney.

  • Retired Chief Petty Officer

The nay-Sayers and third part voters must look at history. Very vote cst for a third party or each vote not cast allows the stupid ones to prevail. You fear a run by Romney in 2016! The way you prevent that is that on the day after we sweep Obama and his sycophants from power, you begin building your grass roots cadre WITHIN the republican party in the same way or even on conjunction with the TEA Party. Identify your candidates. Raise money and get them known to their precincts. Act like any other party members do to raise awareness of the sterling qualities of your candidate. Run him/her against the establishment or incumbent politician as the case may be. remember, however, that you are bucking the power structure. You may not knock them all off, or even most of them, but if any fall to your candidates, you will begin to be heard and influence outcomes. Run for a position on the party apparatus in the local and state parties. That is the true source of grass rootsower. with four years of door-knocking and dedicated fundraising and speaking opportunities, your candidate will no longer be an unknown. The third party naysayers have imbibed the milk of progressivism and manifestly think they are entitled to work form the top down. It ain't going to happen.

  • RepubliCrats

I voted for two Bushes and a McCain so I've voted for the lesser evils in the past. What did that get us? NOTHING!! They started or enabled all this this! The RNC should have thought of this before they butchered Ron Paul and his supporters. You'll reap what you sowed RNC. Don't plan on my vote...Of course it's only one anyway. I'll vote third party on my last chance to vote.

  • mas1az

The only thing Obama has been good for is he exposed the whole democratic party and yes, though they've been solid for many years, it's about on its way out of this country, as they are the new communist party within our country. True freedom loving Americans see that and they the left can tweak the poll numbers all they want, Obama has awakened the silent majority who have been to busy working and providing for their families. They will vote in November to remove this most evil and vile entity to ever set foot on American soil. God bless Romney and Ryan, as they will do what's right for America and her free people who will vote to remain free in November.

  • Ed7oh

People, look at what Obama has done with having to face us voters again, He by passed our Congress which is We the Peoples Reps. so he bypassed us, by executive fiat he passed his own dictatorship laws which is illegal here in the USA, but yet no one stood up on either side, if you didn't watch the Dem convention, even as hard as it was for me to do so listening to all the lies, their platform is very anti American and anti Freedom, First they don't want God in our country! then they claim Jerusalem is not Israels capitol, Which they had 3 votes because of the backlash that our nation was attacking them with, but even with the 3 votes they changed coarse against the will of their own party, you could clearly hear the no's were much more then the yes's, but they ignored the cries of their own party so Obama wouldn't get painted as a anti God anti Israel and anti America president which is just what he is!!!, People, every dictator in history has always disarmed their citizens before they stole power and turned them into subjects, the Democrat platform is very clear this year that if they retain power our guns are gone, all the anti gun Dems in that Convention stood up and said soon as they go back to the Senate they will bombard our Senate with anti gun bills that will only hurt We the legal people who own guns, not stop criminals, Obama sold guns against our Federal laws to Mexican drug cartels just to blame our gun rights for the Mexican deaths, but that blew up in his face and hundreds of innocent Mexicans died due to Obama and Holder and so did two of our own border patrol agents, this is murder not to mention a federal crime that caused this, and yet Obama and the Dems plan on keeping this illegal gun walking scheme working until he can pass anti gun laws without Congress, why do you think he is in the UN with Hilary who both are trying to bypass Congress to take away the one right that protects all of the others in our Bill of Rights!!! People please spread the word, even if people yell at you to shut up that they heard it all before from you, we all must spread the word time is very short and Obama is gaining in the polls with their lies, makes me sick but we must be the new Paul Reveres of our time to spread our freedoms are being stolen by a despot Imperial president that don't have the authority to do what he is doing or what he has done. He must be stopped at all cost, this term if he wins will never have to face voters again and if he did all of what he done with having to face us what do you think 4 years of not having too will cause for our freedoms? I am scared, I pray that real Americans wake up and vote this very real domestic threat out of power before we loose all our Constitutional rights. Obama hates our freedoms and wants King George to come back were class systems will be the new America, the very thing our founding fathers died to change, please stand with me and fight this election lie from the communist party that is Obama. God help our nation and may WE THE PEOPLE will be victorious once and for all. Amen.
PS. right now Obama is dismantling our Nuclear weapons while Russia and China are making more, is this the man you want in charge of our Military and our personal safety, I think not. Wake the gorf up and vote freedom not color or party.

  • Joe

Being a Lutheran, we also believe, teach, and confess total depravity. Before someone cites the Luther quote, "I would rather have a smart Turk than a dumb Christian as a leader," this wasn't his. However, Total Depravity does not excuse unrepentance, either pre-conversion or post-conversion. In order for someone to be repentant, there would need to be conversion.
I'm supposed to vote for someone who denies the Trinity, denies the two natures of Christ, and belongs to a cult; vs. someone who claims to be a Christian, but has shown no evidence thereof? What did the Repub Convention do to cater to it's voting base, i.e. Protestants? Did the Sikh prayer do it? Did the same Roman priest who gave the DNC prayer do it? Did the Rabbi do it?
Sorry, but I'm not convinced. My vote will be going toward Virgil Goode. Romney may slightly delay this country's collapse, at best. [Insert bracing for the "idiot" slams]

  • Thomas in Jacksonville

The problems will not be corrected until we replace the “powers that be” that run the machines at the top of the RNC and the DNC. Maybe we will get all the splinter groups on
the conservative side to form a 3rd party and all the ones on the left to form a socialist to form a 4th party.

  • Marty

Let's see, I agree with about half of what the Democrat/liberals say on social issues(although they never actually DO what they say they will) and I agree with about half of what the Republican/conservatives say on economic issues (but again, they never follow-through on most of what they say they will). So shall I vote in favor of my social issues and against my economic issues? Or shall I vote in favor of my economic issues and against my social issues? Either way I vote, I slap myself in the face, on either my left cheek or my right one. Either way, my own, singular, individual vote is WASTED! But, as in so many areas of our lives, the choices are not quite so "either-or". I can vote in favor of BOTH my economic interests as well as my social issues by voting for Governor Gary Johnson. After all, an election is not a horse race where one "bets" on who they think will or who they want to win. No, an election is a matter of conscience and a means of expressing one's opinion on what direction our country ought to go. Not to mention that, if those who claim Gary Johnson or Ron Paul "will never be elected" would actually vote for them, the vote totals may be quite surprising, perhaps even revolutionary.

In America, the Democrat and Republican parties are no longer players in the game, they're part of the playing field. If you don't like the policies of either party, the only really practical way to change things is to work within one of the parties to change it's policies. Trying to start a new party to compete is just a shade more difficult than trying to create a new house of Congress to compete with the existing two.

NUMBNUTS PAY ATTENTION FOR I AM ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE@! LINCOLN WAS A THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE AND HE WON THE PRESIDENCY! THE WIG PARTY THEN DISAPPEARED FOREVER! FYI THERE HAS BEEN A THIRD PARTY MOVEMENT SINCE 1992. IF NUMBNUTS LIKE YOU HADN'T PREACHED THE STUPIDITY FROM YOUR MEDIA PULPITS THAT THAT IF YOU VOTE THIRD PARTY YOUR JUST THROWING AWAY YOUR VOTE. THEN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WOULD BE GONE AND PEROT WOULD HAVE BEEN PRESIDENT. 911 WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, FOR PEROT WOULD HAVE BEEN A STRONG LEADER. UNLIKE BILL "LEWINSKY ME" CLINTON WHO WAS SO WEAK THAT THE SEEDS OF 911 WERE PLANTED UNDER HIS ADMINISTRATION AND GREW TO FRUITION LESS THAN 9 MONTHS AFTER HE LEFT OFFICE IN DISGRACE! ONE LAST PIECE OF ADVICE THERE IS A HELL OF A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THINKING AND KNOWING! I KNOW THE THE DESTINATION FOR AMERICA IS THE SAME WEATHER IT IS UNDER OSOMA OBAMA OR WHITE OBAMA. THE DIFFERENCE IS IT WILL TAKE A LITTLE LONGER WITH WHITE OBAMA! I FOR ONE AM SICK OF THROWING MY VOTE AWAY VOTING FOR THE LESSOR OF TWO EVILS. I WANT TO VOTE FOR SOMETHING GOOD FOR A CHANGE!

Bravo, another nothing article. Mr. Gary just made a non-point his contentions have as much validity as stating all spoons are evil because they make us all fat. This is such a ridiculous written piece, it's like some seven year old got to voice their opinion on the state of the nation. So we're all evil, that is the final contention? Again, golf clap. Under this man's assumption we really shouldn't even be alive, and certainly we should not try and select any essence of a good man for President, because we are all evil. Why not go all the way, it really doesn't matter who we vote in, because, we are all evil. Some of the dumbest and apathetic people on earth have said to me that I waste my vote when not placing it for Republican or Democrat candidate. I've gone from shaking my head in disbelief to now I hold up my hand as they begin to utter spewage and I say, understand what is going to happen next when you utter the ignorant sentence that I know is coming from your mouth. It shuts them right up, and they never bring it up again. The fact is, you can run your 4th grade understanding about good and bad, but it takes more wisdom to be principled and to walk away from a plate of steaming dog crap and a plate of cold dog crap. To Mr. Gary, go ahead, eat from the plate you want, but DON'T you dare belittle me or others for our principles and wisdom because our plates are more nutritious and better kept. Meanwhile, I still have to sail on this ship of fools that Gary Demar and others continue to steer with their Lesser of two evils schtick. Have fun with your plate of dog crap, I'm only sad I have to sit next to you and smell the odor.

  • Bruce O'H.

Obama and the Left are internal enemies. If you don't do everything in your power to remove them, you are with them.

People whine about the Repub Party, while the Tea Party is working on TAKING THEM OVER, by removing RINO's and replacing them with Conservatives/Patriots.

In the meantime, we WILL do whatever we have to do, including holding our noses, when we vote, if that's what it takes to slow the Left and advance our cause.

Right now we are fighting a four front battle to win...We are fighting the Left, The Moderate/Progressive Right, the media, and anyone who will vote Third Party or sit out the election on "principle".

To those last, I say, thanks for making the way harder, the road steeper, and the chances of success smaller.

  • Singer

It's not about "No lesser of the two evils." It's about fear driven, knee jerk reactions that lead to compromising decisions. I will never vote for Obama but I will not be afraid of him either. I will not compromise so I will trust that God will lead my decision.

    • LeSellers

You should fear O'bama, and fear him greatly. He has, at his sole command and discretion, the full power of the USmerican government, from the Army to the IRS. Everything you do, including the church you attend, is open to him to harm you.

Mitt Romney may not be the best candidate out there, but he is the only one out there who can keep O'bama from harming you.

Mr. Obama, where are the Jobs?

  • FedupwithFeds

Maybe Obama should get reelected then maybe we'll all get off our butts and do something about the situation which should have been done prior to Obama !

  • Dave

We should all vote for the candidate who will actually cut spending, not just the rate at which spending increases!

  • Done

Yep, call me stupid. That's OK. I'm NOT voting for Romney. There really isn't a difference between the two candidates. I'd rather have 4 more years of Obama than 8 years of Romney. Maybe in 4 years, the Republicans will have learned a lesson and put up a limited government candidate.

For those who say they will sit out the election because ron
paul (lcit) is not the Republican candidate or that they will not vote for the
"lesser of two evils" then I pray when they come kicking in your door
because you are politiKally inKorreKt and dared to criticize the "beloved leader".
Don't think so? Maybe you remember the new national listening post in Utah that
is larger, much larger, than the NSA facility in Virginia and THIS one is
turned inward to monitor OUR communications? Yes, you will be the target of
conducting "thought Krime" and your door WILL be kicked in by the new
geheimi staatspolizei; fully equiped and armed with some of those 1 BILLION
rounds of .40 S&W hollow point and 62 grs .223 soft point ammunition. By
the way, our military only used 70 to 90,000,000 rounds in the war. Also,
hollow point and soft point ammunition is forbidden for military use by the
    1899 Hague Convention. Don't take my word for it; look it up. There is more;
lots and lots more but the bottom line is this: Either stop being a "post
turtle" (that's a turtle someone puts on a fence post) and VOTE this
election -- vote for Romney/Ryan -- or don't vote or vote third party and be
part of the death of the Republic. It's your choice. Just remember Deuteronomy 30:19 20 “… I call heaven and
earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death,
blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may
live, loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for
he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the
LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

I know that I CANNOT vote for Romney simply on the basis that he is a Mormon; and since he is a Mormon, he is an enemy of my Lord Jesus Christ and his beliefs prove that. Of course, it goes without saying I am not voting for Obama , either. My hope is on the Lord Jesus ALONE! I know, by His Word, that He will put whoever He wills to as POTUS; and since we as a nation has rejected His guidance on electing godly leaders, from mayor to the president, we deserve what we get. You know, it is God's people who are to blame for the kind of leaders we are getting today because that is what we have been voting for. Therefore, since we have left God out of the equation in our election process, He has also left us to our devices. The kind of leaders we have now, except for very few exceptions, is the proof of that! Our only recourse is for God's people to fall on their faces in repentance before it's to late. Lord Jesus, have mercy on us., and on our nation; four Your Names' sake. Amen.

Romney reneges on eliminating Obamacare - he will just "tweak it" (today's news).

Vote for Romney Navember 6th. Join the Constitution Party now! We need a replacement party, not a 3rd party, and the GOP is too calcified to ever be a true conservative party.

Forget the 'lessor', how about just telling it like it is... it's the same.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWDJEc92d38
It's this voting for the 'lessor' that has got us down at the bottom of the septic tank. Things will not improve until the American people are fed up and refuse to go along with this scam that the leaders of BOTH political parties are pulling on their base, that they take for just plain stupid. Oh, and FWIW, I've been an elected Republican PCO and am currently a PCO for my precinct. I will not vote for that dem in drag, Romney.
By the way, I beg to differ with you regarding the parties being different. Only the ignorant thinks there is one iota of difference. The only difference is the show that the party leaders put on for their busy worker bees on the ground.

  • mort_f

There is a saying that all politics are local.
And that is the venue where third parties must be built. Built from the ground up. There is but one 'third' party that is anywhere near viable, and apparently it does fit the desires of many on this blog. That is the Libertarian Party, the 'Party' that Ron Paul really belongs to. If the Romney bashers, who are also Obama bashers, really have the courage of their convictions, they should be devoting their efforts to building the Libertarian Party, but at the LOCAL level. The State houses, the governors, the mayors, even the school boards. It takes far less funds at the LOCAL level, and you will not be faced with the bastardized media that we have now. They do not care!
No, it does not have to be the 'Libertarian Party'. It could just as easily be called the Tea Party, the Patriots Party, or any other name that strikes your fancy. But one that sends a message, To my thinking, the Tea Party platform of today most closely matches what I desire for my government. The Tea Party is making an influence at the State level. Wouldst they make a similar influence at even the lower levels of government.
I fully agree that both major parties have, in the main, isolated themselves from the electorate. The non-defense of the Constitution is an abomination. That Laws are willy-nilly ignored should call for Impeachment. That they are not, is malfeasance.
But this November, even if you have to hold your nose, there is only one choice. And pray that he does not use the present incumbent as a role model.

  • Dan Phillips

We can have a theological discussion about voting. Heck, we can have a theological discussion about democracy even. But when people make the "lesser of two evils" argument, they are not generally making a theological argument, I think Mr. DeMar knows that. So bringing up total depravity (which you do not have to be a Calvinist to believe) may be cute, but it does not really address the issue.

    • ylpo8

The issue, it seems, is that too many people--including many if not most in the church--still believe in the power of civil government to solve all our problems; as though it has god-like power. This is evidence of the abject failure of Christian leaders to disciple even fellow Christians. The secular state education system has done a better job of disciple making than the church....

  • ylpo8

I have two words in response to this--Alan Keyes, who makes the simple point that not voting for Romney is hardly the same as voting for Obama.

We're not just voting out a Muslimunist or Commuslim, what have you. We're voting out his Chicago-style pinko rogue gallery, with all their radicals and pervs. There is a difference. Romney and Ryan, if compromisers of some kind, are just two and the former probably will, at worst, elect Ayn Randesque fiscal-only conservatives. We don't know that, but we do know what kinds Obama put in chgarge of things.

    • Phil

None of the other candidates are much better, as they all compromised their values to get some illusory "greater good" (I've made that mistake), except maybe Paul, but even he was backing a pro-abort libertarian in some race.

  • farmgirl

If Ron Paul is a man of his word, which I believe him to be, then he will not run on a "third party" ticket. He knows how important it is to remove Obama. He knows that if he runs it will hand the election to Obama (not that he isn't going to try to steal it anyway). Dr. Paul, please ask your supporters to vote Obama out. That's not saying that you endorse Mitt Romney. It's just getting the devil out of the White House. We can deal with the rest later.

If you were offered the option of voting for Adolph Hitler or Joseph Stalin, would you take it? I wouldn't ... and I won't chose between Obama and "Obama-Lite". Neither are Constitutionalists who are loyal to the oath they took to "defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic." Both are willing to take away our Rights under the Constitution. If our Founding Fathers had the option of King George or another member of the British monarchy what do you suppose they would have done? The Republican Party has deserted the Conservative Constitutional Republic-minded Americans and robbed Ron Paul of his delegates. If we get 4 more years of Obama-nation .....it is the fault of the Republican Party ........ of which I no longer can support.

Dietrich Bonnhoeffer, an anti-nazi in Germany during the days of Hitler, said, "Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. To not speak is to speak. To not act is to act." To take this thought a bit further - To not vote is to vote. I MUST vote. I do not like to think that I am voting for evil - so, this is the way I see it. I am going to cast my vote to restrain as much evil as I possibly can.

  • Bob

Just on the "Electoral Vote" issue alone, I know people that are going to write in names like Ozzie Osbourne, Mickey Mouse, etc. for POTUS, because they feel that their vote does not matter, and is a wasted vote anyway. When a Candidate can win the "Popular Vote" and still lose the Election to the "Electoral Vote", then the whole voting process is a fraud. And the "Establishment" Candidate will win everytime regardless of how a majority of the people vote.Articles like this are part of the reason that America is on a fast track to socialism, be it by the hand of the Demonacrats or Progressive Socialism brought on by the likes of Mitt Romney. To vote for Obama or Romney is a vote for Socialism, so if you plan on voting for either one of them, then choose your form of socialsim. As for me being a Registered Independent and a Constitutionist, I refuse to be a slave to either one of the two political parties that have been fast tracking America into Socialism rather it be the Demonacrats, or the Globally Operative Policymakers(GOP) which is the party of the New World Order (NWO) that hijacked the Grass Roots Conservitive Republican Party, and is and has been trying to distance itself from and attempting to discredit and destroy the Conservitive Tea Party Movement. Just look at the controlling "Dictatorial" Actions taken By the Progresive Socialist Mitt Romney and his regime at the GOP/RINO convention 2 weeks ago.
I see what this two party system has done to America and I will be voting for a Third Party Candidate, namely Virgil Goode of The Constitution Party.

The Tea Party is just another thing to fake you into thinking politics can solve the problems we have created. Unless they control the Fed they are just as powerless as both parties. The Globalist elite run the show and nothing short of a bloody, ugly, destructive revolution, with a death toll in the millions, can make fundamental change. And that is exactly what Satan wants to happen, because it will snowball into total destruction of mankind. So get off Satan's Titanic, and get on Christ's Love Train bringing Heaven to Earth!

Matthew 16:1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

Open your eyes, it’s not time to seek an answer from corrupt, fallen men who have made this mess. Only the real SAVIOR has THE solution, understanding that Christ didn't
just save us from our sin, but he will save mankind from utterly wiping himself off the face of the planet, and completely transform this planet into His Kingdom. This world is way beyond man's ability to manage it, and to think otherwise is completely delusional.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it
shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

Colossians 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Mitt Romney wants to KEEP key provisions in ObaMAOcare such as covering pre existing conditions & letting children stay on their parents insurance until age 26. These two provisions have caused insurance premiums to skyrocket. Small businesses can't afford higher premiums so they will NOT be hiring, unemployment will stay high. Also ObaMAOcare robs Medicare, leaving seniors to deal with LESS benefits & much poorer health care.
To ANYONE who thinks socialized health care is a good idea I challenge you to make an appointment at a state/federally funded clinic. After you see the poor quality of the RNs & PAs, you RARELY if ever see a real doctor, the cleanliness of the facility, the total incompetence of the staff, from the receptionists to the pharmacy & experience the condescending, incredibly RUDE behavior of everyone involved I think you might change your mind.

If one checks voting records, they find that Tea Party picks voted for NDAA which gives Obama the authority to detain American citizens indeterminately with out a trial, lawyer or warrant. That is not a good record Hall Of Shame/a>

The most committed of the No Lesser of Two Evils Crowd are the Ron Paul zealots - Paulites. Many of them have said they are willing to sacrifice the nation, even the futures of their own children to make a statement for Paul, against Democrats and Republicans. That is insane by any definition of insanity, including being dangers to themselves and others, and doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Paul has run three times for president and lost badly each time in the primaries. He is not electable as president. I hope and pray the Paulites come to their senses in the privacy of their actual votes on Nov. 6 or before.
A Libertarian can possibly win some future election. This one is too important to lose to Obama for any futile statements to be made this year. The future of America depends on a Romney/Ryan victory. That is the only way Libertarians ever have a chance of getting a Libertarian into the Office of POTUS/CINC.

Question to Gary Demar from one of the "idiots".... Who sets ALL leaders in place according to Scripture (Gary, especially as someone who is a professing "Calvinist")? If we get Obama it is because that is who God choose to place as our president.... if we get Romney it is for the same reason.... I will fear and trust God; I will vote my conscience which will be for neither of these wicked pro-baby killing men.

You also say this...."The past four years should be a wake-up call to the no lesser than two evils crowd." as if the 'lesser of two evils' group is responsible for placing Obama in power the first time.... if that is what you are saying, you should do some fact checking before saying it... the FACT is, if you took every vote that was cast in the last election for every candadate and gave all those votes to McCain.... Obama still would have won....

Here's the thing that I keep coming back to, Romney does not need this. He is a weathly, poweful man and he does not need to be the POUS. However I do think he and his wife want to see America turn around and be the USA again not the divided, european, socialist replica that the current POUS and his crew are trying to create. Also we need someone who will stand with Israel, any nation that comes against Israel will do so at it's demise. There is one power still in control and if you read his word you will see this.

  • dfijan

Woe to you Gary Demar. Twisting God's Truth to suit your agenda and satisfy your fears is a very dangerous thing to do. Don't think God won't hold you accountable! You should repent and fear God more than you fear man.

  • rowdygal

I read the article and am scratching my head; once again a bunch of "double-speak"! The insanity continues! Truth - You have two choices for a President - neither of which most of us want - so "Yes" chosse the lesser of the two evils for your voting conscience and pressure your State constituency because in the end it is the electoral votes that make the "Winner". Unlike, with the Senate vote, that is the common people vote at work - so vote wisely and "make real change" in Washington, DC. The Congress can make or break a President regardless of what his policies are. Meanwhile, get ready for the war that is coming in this country; it has already begun but many still don't realize it.

The repub's and the demo's built their parties so it would be nearly impossible for another party to form. My issue with Romney is he is a mormon. Since I'm a Christian how can I stand before my God and say I voted for a cult member to run the country you (God) gave the world. I can not vote for Romney and I certainly can not vote for the Marxists B.O. either. If B. O. gets re-elected it is the fault of the repub elite not me. I will never vote for a liberal running as a republican. I nearly puked voting for Bob Dole and the same for the first Bush. I had a little more hope in the second Bush but like the first he was a turncoat. Please tell me why I should compramise all my principle's and vote for either liberal running? I've heard all the arguments......maybe its time for civil disobediance, maybe its time for a little blood of Patriots to be mixed with tyrants!! I feel almost certain that will happen if B.O. gets re-elected and the fault will lie at the feet of the republican elite who nominated a rino.

Romney said on Sunday that he will replace ObamaCare with RomenyCare. So you all claim to be conservative. Where in the constitution is Romneys Mandate ok and Obama's are not. Romney said in the same interview he will freeze military spending where it is at. We spend near 50% of the worlds military spending. We spend nearly 500 BILLION more than the closest nation (China). So out of control National Government spending (fiat currency printing, and debt) and unconstitutional mandates will be continued under this new prophet, Mitt for Brains Romeny, sent to save us all by the socialist that run the RNC. The answer does not lay in changing the deckchairs on the sinking ship of Washington DC. It can be found in the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions of 1798 written by Jefferson and Madison. We need to stop trying to fix the unfixable and change at the local level and nullify and yes, seceed. Until these ideas are embraced, we are doomed to go down with the ship. But darn, don't those deck chairs look nice.

The Ron Paul delegates, and the Tea Party were both disenfranchised from the GOP convention in Tampa. What the hell does that say. The GOP is corrupt, and that the election is already bought and paid for. Your vote dont matter, and it does not matter whom you vote for.
Case in point: A Spanish, George Soros company is going to count the votes in November, ala and via the POTUS.
Something is very wrong here, and the only thing that is going to correct it is Blood in the streets. . .

I feel dumber as a result of reading this.
Yes everyone is evil relative to God. That is Christianity 101. We are not talking about God. We are talking about entitlements. Conservatives do not believe in entitlements. There for it would be wrong to claim some one is entitled to your vote because of their political affiliation or the positions of their opponents.
Conservatives are free market. They want more competition in the market place. It is the socialists that push the two party monopoly.
If a person is against nationalized health care, it is immoral to vote for someone who supports nationalizing Health care. Both Romney and and Obama want to nationalize health care. We know Obama's plan, we only know the Romney plan from Mass, not his national plan. Considering Obama's plan is molded after Romney, it is crap shoot with Romney.

As far as you Calvinist friends go, tell them to contemplate the Sufficiency of Scripture, and how it demands that Christians completely divorce themselves from supporting evil, even if it is the lessor of the two evils.

  • satelliter

Dire circumstances require drastic actions. Voting for Romney is simply continuing to support the same government you keep complaining about. Voting for Obama is voting for the complete destruction of the United States of America. We need serious, radical, drastic changes to save us. The ONLY party promising such is the Libertarian Party. Anyone who is against the Libertarian party does not know anything about the Libertarian Doctrine. Two words describe the party doctrine everyone is so against "Live Free".

  • Rusty S

Its the best argument that someone has put forth regarding the "lesser of two evils" however there are holes in your argument. The Tea Party is the response to the lesser of two evils. 2nd, when the Republicans are not following their own rules to push out instead of unite Ron Paul who is a Republican, and folks who stand for the Constitution, and the Republic and not a failing democratic government, then folks should search for another option such as the Contitution Party. 3rd parties have been trying to get on the ballot but the R's and D's vote to keep them out ... what are they afraid of .. getting voted out?

Can one actually comment here without using one of the tracking programs so popular?

Obviously we need to get rid of Obama but replacing him with another statist doesn't really fix our problems and I think that this article is more than a bit specious. It seems to confuse the term evil with, "not as bad" and with "depraved with intentions to destroy all that is good," unless he actually means that Romney (as well as Obama) is more toward the latter. The idea that one MUST choose among what he terms the lesser of two evils and I call two very bad choices is ridiculous unless he is prepared to go to the ultimate test and choose this day: Hitler or Stalin. And, no, I do not mean to compare Obama and Romney to Hitler and Stalin, just a thought experiment to discern this writer's actual claim. There was a time, though, when Hitler and Stalin had not done their evil.

  • Conservadiva

Dittos to Gary DeMar and a High-5 to John Calvin who would not agree with the "lesser of 2 evils crowd." Calvin himself was involved in politics in Geneva. I have committed to pray every day for this election. Please join me. There are many large churches of 500+ members or more who have committed to come together from across town and across denominational lines pray together for this election. By simply taking a look at the 2 party platforms, you can easily see where the Christian ideals of Pro-Life, Freedom of Worship, God ordained marriage, and Small Government are embodied. This is clearly NOT a choice between 2 evils, but where one platform wanted to strike God from its text, and a different platform that celebrates the God of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. There were 100 Muslim delegates at the DNC who are finding their ideological home there. God bless Romney/Ryan 2012!

You spout rhetoric, but you, like Gary here, fail to be able to provide any factual statistics on which candidate is the lesser evil. In fact, Gary, like you, fails to mention even a single MORAL reason to vote for one of the two candidates running on the DNC/RNC platform.

Oversimplified article that attempts to bully.... Maybe another lost election is what it takes for the GOP to learn. Better to take the bitter medicine now and be cured than to continue with a long debilitating disease of RINOcitus. If we play to the middle and liberals continue to move left we will follow them off the edge. It becomes a question of integrity. When you allow someone to manipulate what you stand for you create a predictable habit of shifty bad character that is good for no one. The GOP has decided to go that route and it appears you follow. If the GOP needs to take another dose of the McCain medicine to learn their lesson then so be it. Compromise is not something that mixes well with God ordained values. Sadly so called conservatives appear to be falling into the political "game" where "If you comprimise your values and vote for Romney it will be better than another Pres. Obama term".... That's not integrity that's manipulation and fear tacticts. That philosphy is the very reason Washington is the way it is. Too many have made little character comprimises here and there only to become so used to doing so that they no longer have any character. Vote your values. Be hot or cold, stand on principles or lay down. The settle for less philosophy tastes lukewarm, and worth spitting out. I beg you to please change course on this one. Mr. Romney not only is unproven but has legislated/endorsed the murder of innocent babies, homosexuality, healthcare mandates etc. etc.. Our children and country are worth more than this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/kyle.horton Kyle Agorist Horton

This is a pretty poor article when it comes down to intellectual discussion on the topic it purports to convey. It fails to mention any difference between Romney and Obama, or make any moral conclusion on why we are wrong.

Gary assumes that by taking the well trodden path- "they are idiots" - when referring to the "lesser of two evils" crowd, his message will get across. It doesn't. It does let Gary come across as another institutionalized member of the State Cult who is apparently incapable of independent thought. Some other errors are:

-It completely ignores the fact that the Tea Party of today is NOT the tea party that woke people up in 2006, 7, 8, and 9. By late 2008 it was being co-opted by the RINO's of the GOP when it became evident that, not shockingly, the Democrats were sweeping the nation because of the GOP's ineptitude. It also fails to mention that Ron Paul was actually one of the people that kick started the *original* tea party into high gear.

Lastly, Gary does not even have the integrity to show that the original activists of the tea party ARE the people that are not voting this time around, at least not for Romney or Obama. He takes the term "tea party," applies the integral movement from 2008 as the modern incarnation, and ignores the disenfranchisement that has become the hallmark of your GOP.

The problem, Gary, with your "lesser of two evils" argument here can be summed up here: Most people who are actually honest with themselves, much less the outside world, even if we WANTED to vote for the lesser evil, have no clue which one is more or less evil. They are the same. And case in point, if they weren't the same, you'd have been able to at least provide us with their differences. You were unable to.

    Those
who advocate for Dr. Ron Paul to run as a third party candidate need to
study some recent history, specifically the third party candidacy of H.
Ross Perot and the effect it had on the 1992 and 1996 elections. While
the effect ~was~ a "game changer", the "message" that was sent was that
while a third party candidate will provide a leavening useful to the
media it may actually result in an adverse effect on the outcome as
viewed from the perspective of those attempting to send a message.
    Those
who profess the moral high ground by not making a choice are making the
choice to allow evil to flourish. The most despicable of all choices.Google Deitrich Bonhoeffer. He was a German Lutheran Pastor and Theologian who was murdered by the Nazis for his adherence to Christian Principles and his criticism of the Nazis based on his faith. His writings on people not speaking out against the Nazis are just as applicable today to our current political situation.

Please, do what no one else in your camp has been able to do and show us how your charges are based in fact of any sort. Wow more sanity! If I didn't know better I would say Gary has been reading the comments! This reminds me of my debate with Arrow and Gentle Dove on Joel McDurmons postings. I have been going through the new testament with only "Tulip" in mind and have found that it is completely incompatible with the gospel. The sad thing is that Christ NEVER purposes himself that way. I was thinking about the man that asked Jesus, "How may I be saved" and Jesus told him to obey the commandments, and he said, "Which ones" and eventually Jesus tells him to sell all he has and give to the poor so he can be "perfect" which the man would not do because he was wealthy. Jesus then said how "Hard" it is for a rich man to be saved. Now if he was "predestined" and it had nothing to do with choice, how can it be hard? It could be impossible or it could be easy if it was simply God "regenerating" someone with his choice. However since it is "hard" as Christ said that implies work on our part. He also said that the road to salvation is narrow and only a "few find it." But again if it were only a matter of the "u" in tulip than it is not something we even have to look for, it finds us.

Over and over, in every parable, he almost always presents a scenario in which the subject has a "choice." Such as the son whose father asked him to go work in the field and he said "I will sir!" but he did not go. The other son said, "I will not go" but later he changed his mind and went, who did what the father wanted?

It is the same now, we have a choice. In the parable above, Jesus did not give us a choice of a phantom 3rd son who might have said, "I will sir!" and then he went and worked. Such a son might have been the perfect answer to Jesus' question of "Who did what his father wanted." But Jesus specefically told the parable this way to prove a point. In fact Jesus painted a picture where neither answer was "perfect" and he guided us to the "lesser" of two evils that resulted in action. Such is the choice we have now. The Calvinist says that we have no real effect on the culture because it all depends on Gods decision on if he will "regenerate" the culture. Ironically most Calvinists will not say that we should not waste time trying to save people, nor will the outright say that we should not try to affect culture change, but it is their outlook on life. This is the son who says he will go, but refuses to do any work.
A perfect choice is always better, but rarely on the ticket. But if we keep "searching" of the narrow path, we will get there!

  • Anthony

It is possible to vote against the two party system, which is perhaps more of a one-party system with two factions, one that is slowly proceeding to fascism (the Republicans) and one that is rapidly proceeding to fascism (Democrats). The two factions switch positions with each other every 30 years. People who don't want to vote for either of these guys are not idiots. But perhaps those who used to say "Anybody but Romney" and are now chanting "anything to get Obama out" while sticking Romney bumper stickers on their cars might take a more critical look at themselves, and wonder just how well they are sticking to their core values, and how well they will hold Romney's feet to the fire as he starts to cave to the lies that are so logically presented by Keynesian types. Few held Bush's feet to the fire.
But certainly, lets get the freedom lovers pushing freedom candidates both within the Republican and the Democratic parties. Work on both at the same time to get them to switch away from the fascism they currently pursue

I have said many times that I would have much preferred a solid conservative be nominated rather than Romney. However, I also know without a doubt that the current occupant of the Whitehouse is an anti-American ideologue bent on damaging this nation as severely as possible, and he will sacrifice very single person in the process. Those who falsely think he is more favorable to the middle-class than Romney have their heads in the sand or elsewhere. The bottom line is that virtually every presidential election comes down to a selection between bad and better. This year, the better is Romney, far better I think. He sure couldn't be worse! By the way, Romney will not be able to do anything positive if Harry Reid continues to control the Senate. Most of Obama's power has come from Reid's protection in the Senate. Obama must go, but Reid must be castrated as well.

Read 2 Kings 9 & 10. God instructed Elisha to send a young son of the prophets to anoint Jehu as king of Israel. Jehu cleaned house after the wickedness of Ahab and Jezebel, but Jehu was no saint himself. He departed not from the sins of Jeroboam. So a son of the prophets, Elisha and God himself chose the lesser of two evils by choosing and anointing Jehu as king. How can anyone say they are doing the Godly thing by choosing not to vote? A Christian who thinks he/she is too good to vote for the lesser of two evils may be sentencing their children and grandchildren to life under the WORST of two evils.
