Robber Told Store Clerk at Gunpoint to Vote For Obama

A Warren, Ohio convenience store was robbed recently. A local CBS station reported:

“[T]he man walked into the store at about 8 p.m. Tuesday and pointed the gun at a customer about 15 feet from the door. The masked man demanded the customer give him “everything,” reports said. The man then turned to the clerk and ordered him to empty the cash register. Reports said the clerk handed the man money and the suspect then reached over the counter and grabbed the cash register drawer… [H]e pointed the gun at the clerk and repeatedly asked who he voted for in the presidential election. The clerk said he was not allowed to vote. The gunman then said ‘Vote for Obama. This is Obama (expletive)’ before fleeing, reports said.”

An Obama supporter who also robs people of their money and forces them at gunpoint to vote for Obama? How shocking is that? (By the way, that was sarcasm for those whose sarcasm detectors need to be replaced.) I can’t think of a better picture of blatant class envy-based socialism than this story. It’s as if the robber is saying, “Yes, I’m taking your money at gunpoint because it’s just not fair that you have it and not me, and by the way, you’d better vote for Obama, or else…”

Poor guy. I guess he wasn’t pulling in enough money from his welfare checks, so he had to resort to crime. As we all know, and as Bill Maher has so eloquently stated in the past, “poverty causes crime.” It wasn’t this man’s fault that he had to resort to crime. He’s just poor, and he needs Obama to give him more money through welfare programs. (Again, sarcasm.) And since he wasn’t getting enough, he had to start robbing people. After all, welfare is robbery, so what’s the difference?

In reality, poverty doesn’t cause crime. If that were the case, no criminal would ever be responsible for his actions. And how could we incarcerate or penalize someone for something that wasn’t his fault?

I guess this is where the liberals’ idea of “rehabilitation” comes from. They say that what criminals need is not to be penalized and incarcerated, but to be “rehabilitated.” They just need to be trained not to engage in criminal behavior. That’s about as bad as giving them “timeout” to think about what they’ve done.

But “rehabilitation” doesn’t train people about the consequences of their actions. It just makes criminals feel like victims, which makes them more likely to feel justified in committing the same crimes again.

Even assuming that poverty actually caused crime, bloated welfare programs won’t solve the problem of poverty. As we all know, welfare leads to more poverty. And what causes poverty? The Proverbs say that laziness causes poverty. The writer of Proverbs warns the sluggard, “Your poverty will come in like a vagabond and your need like an armed man.” Obviously, not every person on welfare or food stamps is a lazy person. A single mother whose husband abandoned his family, leaving her to fend for herself, who works two jobs and supplements with some form of welfare is not a lazy person.

But way too many people are signing up to be willing sycophants so that they can get the “free” handouts without actually working. They’re the sluggards who are in poverty because of their own laziness. And when they still don’t get enough from welfare, they rob convenience stores and force people at gunpoint to vote for more socialism.

    Poverty doesn't cause crime.

    Crime causes poverty.

Quite true - most poor people are poor because they have the mindset of criminals. They don't want to work, so they steal. Some steal using guns, some steal with welfare checks.

Most people are poor because their parents were poor and they were never taught to excel or study and so on. I know many honest poor people and they're good and don't steal. It's a small segment of our society-if it were a large segment, we couldn't go to the store or travel because there would be so many thugs and thieves.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that this criminal was a scumocrat because most criminals are scumocrats. Also, anyone who votes for any scumocrat for any reason is just as guilty as this robber because taxation to support parasitism is theft.

Ten out of ten criminals agree, obama is the best choice for president.

It bad when Obama supports supped to this kind of conduct to win office for a bad person.

Too bad someone else was not armed.

Ah, but if this guy had a job and worked 8 to 5 he would be tired and be at home resting and wouldn't have time to get into trouble. Moreover, if he had a job he'd be paying taxes-something the politicians are going to want a lot of in the coming years.

  • Screeminmeeme

This thug was simply emulating his hero, Obama, who also, while robbing us blind, told us to vote for him.

  • Vincent

He is not a criminal. He is another member of Obama's civilian security force.

At least it was not a black urban flash mob that seems to be prevalent in America today

Its too bad we have to put up with these low life punks. Violent crime will probably increase over the next several years. Unfortunately, with the upcoming signing of the UN Small Arms Treaty, we can expect UN troops on our soil attempting to take our guns. Its too bad this cashier did not make this punk stare at the business end of a firearm & receive its contents point blank. The more gun control that is instituted, the more the violent crime rate will increase. Mark my word, one day we'll be like the UK where it will be a crime to defend yourself or family. The time to wake up America was two days ago. It may be too late now!

    You're right about socialism.

You're right about socialism. Rehabilitation, haha! funny. Sounds so much like "liberation". One side likes to spend U.S. taxpayers dollars on people who are irresponsible with money, jobs, and making a descent life for themselves within the borders of this great
country. The other side likes to spend U.S. taxpayers dollars on people who are irresponsible with money, jobs, and making a descent life for themselves thousands of miles from the borders of this great country.

First things first: is this claim on video somewhere? The timing appears too convenient.

As for the idea that poverty does cause crime, I have one rebuttal: Appalachia; that area isn't exactly a crime-ridden area; it's poor and hardscrabble, but not crime ridden. At the same time, those who go on welfare with no intention of getting off have themselves to blame...reason being: no one is holding a knife or firearm to your head to go on welfare. Some go on because of bad happenstance, but others are just lazy as the article says.

It takes a criminal to know a criminal so that is why they feel comfortable with him.
