Money for Nothing, 13 Million Fewer Votes, and a Less than Conservative Candidate Won it for Obama

With all the votes in, it looks like 117 million people voted, about 13 million fewer than in 2008. Even Obama didn’t as many votes as he did in 2008. There’s a great deal of discussion about why Obama won. Rep. Jim Jordan (R.-Ohio), the chairman of the House Republican Study Committee, said that the Republican presidential campaign was handicapped because Mitt Romney was the most liberal Republican nominee in history. Jordan described Romney as “the most liberal Republican nominee in history.”

Abortion, contraception, homosexual marriage, race — you name the cause — were factors, but not enough to tip the scales for Obama. Certainly not enough to garner 60 million votes. Something else is going on in America, and it’s been going on for a long time. At this point in time, we’ve hit a tipping point. With 47 percent of adults not paying federal income taxes and tens of millions of people on food stamps, the primary reason 60 million people voted to give President Obama four more years is FREE MONEY. Free money — fiscal insanity — won the election for Obama.

People getting free stuff aren’t going to vote for a party that promises to stop the trips to the candy store. It reminds me of a line from a Dire Straits’ song: “Money for nothin’ and your chicks for free.”

For decades, since Lyndon Johnson’s administration and the implementation of the “Great Society,” tens of millions of Americans have been living in terms of other people’s money. Like all government programs, the payouts were small in the beginning and those receiving aid amounted to a few percentage points. But when something is subsidized, you’re going to get more of it.

The majority vote for Democrats because they believe the Democrats will give them other people’s money. Obama said it himself at a 1998 conference at Loyola University in Chicago: “I believe in redistribution” to “make sure that everybody’s got a shot.”

Californians voted themselves a tax increase this election. Actually, a majority voted for a tax increase on other people. They’re hoping they benefit by the extra cash. Planned Parenthood is already basking in the free birth control that women will be able to get for the next four years. Now we can count on another four years of a president who is an outspoken supporter of Planned Parenthood,” Planned Parenthood Federation of America President Cecile Richards wrote. “We can count on birth control with no co-pays, and increased access to affordable care.”

Saving the auto industry played a role in guaranteeing Obama’s electoral victory. It insured that Michigan would vote for him. Look at the electoral map of Michigan. The blue (Democrat) counties are located in the Detroit area where auto manufacturing and the major universities are located (Ann Arbor and Lansing). Kalamazoo in the west is the home of Western Michigan University. It, too, went for Obama. Students are dependent on government for grants, school loans, and being on their parents’ healthcare policies until they’re 26. Who needs a job when money and chicks (birth control) are free?

Ohio borders Michigan. There are a lot of union workers and automobile parts manufacturing industries in the Buckeye State. We don’t think of Ohio as an automobile powerhouse, but it is:

“Ohio ranked second in the nation in value-added in both assembly and parts operations during 2008. Ohio is at the center of the motor vehicle industry – 68.2 percent of N. American light vehicle production during 2010 was in Ohio or within 500 miles (805 kilometers) of its borders.”

Republicans could make similar policy promises, dole out the tax dollars, and billions in “Quantitative Easing,” but then they wouldn’t be the opposition party. George Bush tried it, and look where his policies took us and what we got in return – the most inexperienced president in history who has a fundamental grudge against America.

The Democrats are already talking about raising taxes as a solution to our fiscal crisis, and the majority of voters said “Amen.”

Nothing is "free". Somebody ALWAYS have to cover the costs. Not even dying is free.

    • aobrien1

Actually, dying is beginning to sound pretty attractive, when you look at what we have to look forward to. I wonder when he's going to start engineering for a third term.

      • DWinch

Dying will come soon enough I'm afraid, the big question is will we choose to die like soldiers or die like sheep?

      • redd

Probably Soon!! Very Soon!!! GOOD LUCK AMERIKA!!!!

      • wild bill

Sounds morbid but I have to agree with you

      • carlaannhogan

He won't have to run for another term - the next socialist who is nominated by the DNC will win easily again, because the die is cast. The majority of people in this country now know that they can vote themselves whatever they want: cellphones, food stamps, college educations, housing, healthcare, etc., and someone else will have to pay for it. It's the Makers vs. the Takers - we have become Greece

    • Jason Burns

The problem is that NOBODY is talking about cutting spending. No, not even the Republicans are talking about cutting spending. They only consider talking about future cuts that extend beyond 5 years and it never happens. Even Paul Ryan begged to raise the debt ceiling and supported the bailouts. The bailouts were not even for the people or the economy, they were for the banks that caused the mess in the first place. Who is really running this country? I think it's the banks... just look at the Federal Reserve.

      • redd

At your Age, you should already know the answer to that Question!!! We as a Free Nation ceased to exist on December 23, 1913. When we allowed the Federal Reserve to take over our Money!!!
Regardless of how much you're worth, if you borrow money from an entity and have to pay them back with interest, eventually you're going to run out of money!! Unfortunately what America has been doing since the 1950's is that we borrow money from the Federal Reserve, and we have to borrow money from them to pay off the debt, plus we borrow the Money to pay the interest as well!!
It's just took 99 years for us to get to that "Fiscal Cliff", and now with the Degrading of the Dollar by China, Russia, and others. Our Dollar isn't worth as much anymore, which causes inflation, and so forth!! It's just a perpetual Downward Spiral for us now!! The Dollar WILL Crash, probably in a matter of a few months from now!! Then what happens to us from there is No telling, because there is no precedence for it, other than the Great Depression, and this will be 70 times as bad as that was!!

All I can say is, that everyone here needs to gather a few months worth of Food, Water, and Medicines to sustain you until all this passes!! And you might consider having a weapon to enable you to guard and protect what you have!! Things are about to get UGLY!!! GOOD LUCK AMERICA!! WE'LL NEED IT!!!

      • jagans

Why do you think that Ron Paul was so against the federal reserve? How can a Bank lose thirty Billion dollars???? Did they ever forget to tell you that your mortgage, or car payment was due?

  • CARLjr

How was Romney liberal, let alone "the most liberal republican nominee in history"?

    • dHb

He wasn't Carl! That is just Gary DeMar popping off again. He is a political analyst wanabe.

      • wildbill

dhb you are mis informed I heard Ron Reagan say that he was once a democrat

    • Jason Burns

Really? Because for starters, he used to be a Democrat. He supported Abortion, Health Care Mandates (RomneyCare) Socialized Medicine just like Obama, Gun Control, NDAA... the list goes on and on. Romney is the most liberal candidate the Republicans have ever had. The election was Rigged.

      • DWinch

A can of dog food would make a better president than obama. Romney happened to be better than a can of dog food.

        • simpletony1

Not exactly; obama is a can of crap

      • loran carlson

Hey don't forget that Reagan was a democrat before he grew up into an adult.

        • wildbill

Ron Reagan said " I did not leave the democrat party it left me"

      • CARLjr

He was against abortion and said he would fight to overturn Roe v. Wade.
He vowed to repeal Obamacare - 1st thing,
Gun control - he said he was willing to compromise on assault weapons only.
The NDAA is not a liberal law. It is a frightening expansion of the Patriot Act.

The out of control Department of Homeland Security SHOULD have been the issue used against Obama - not Benghazi.

    • Ken Kirkham

He is to the left of center in most of his beliefs. He is gutless and presented no clear direction and even advocates for many liberal ideals. He is a RINO.

    • Tim Brown

I love these Monday morning QB's. We lost beacuse more than half of this country wants free stuff, and Socialism. The choice was very simple.

    • Al Castagna

      Thats right. I completely agree.

    • dHb

Exactly right Kurt, you hit the nail on the head.

    • simpletony1

I think we have been socialist since FDR started "Social" security.

      • Carol Fryer

Yes but further back....with the federal reserve.

      • nancy miller

I go along with that! Just give me the money my husband and I put into the system for over 50 years.

        • Al

And how long could you live off that money if you live a long life? Think about it.

        • SL Brow

          Wise investments a long time

        • bonniewheeler

The railroad retirees are doing well with the money they paid into retirement instead of SS. . What they draw in retirement far exceeds that of those who retired on SS. This was also tried out in one part of Florida and the results were the same - better than SS retirement.

        • Allen Logue

I hear an ever-growing chorus of patriots who fight for legislation to opt out of social insecurity in favor of forfeiting past contributions and starting afresh with private sector retirement co-ops. Without thinking twice, I would support such an option even though I've paid into SS for more than 25 years.

        • Granpa David

We call it the magic of compound interest. Instead of paying us interest, the politicians stole the money and spent it. They spend everything, never for debt reduction, tax and spend, tax and spend until it collapses. And it will, same road as Greece, Italy, France, Spain, etc.

      • Al

It was FDR that took America away from socialism. It was Hoover who pushed America in that direction. Check your history.

        • GramE

          Check your facts

        • Granpa David

We need to check your history.

        • Allen Logue

Al, in the future, please make sure to end your posts with some mark indicating sarcasm.

      • Patty Cieslak Carson

Social security would not be such a bad thing if it were run fairly. You work and you put money in the pot to help out the retired folks who worked for years and paid in to it, and you then are guaranteed to get money out of it when you retire. If you don't work and pay in to it then you don't get to out of it. I am sick and tired of seeing these young lazy jerks getting SSI and taking away from what is supposed to be reserved for older people.

        • donnarooty

I would like to see a report of how many people (since SS was implemented) have paid into it for their entire working lives, then died before they ever collected a dime. We don't hear that side of it do we?

        • Lucius_Junius_Brutus

If they are married and/or have kids, they get benefits.

        • GramE

My husband paid in 25 years (that is the base used, I believe), died at 49, and nothing was paid out. Well, the $250 (or $255 ?) was paid. Years later, when I applied to start recieving SocSec, the man I talked to asked what my husband's number was - because obviously I would receive more on his account. NOT. 25 more recent years would add up to more. Then the man said "he hasn't paid for years!" The idiot had never asked about his status. He obviously thought he'd found a cheat! I told him he was deceased. "Oh well, why didn't you tell us. It's too late now to collect the death benefit" The efficiency of the US Government.

        • CARLjr

I would like to see a report of what people paid in versus what they take out. Healthcare costs have skyrocketed - 1981 dollars don't go very far in a 2012 medical system.

        • Hunt

The trouble brewing in SS is that there are record numbers of baby boomers retiring now. Fewer workers because of the economy paying in to SS to keep the "SS pot" up. The Gov't is giving the money to people who never paid into it. And, you had a crook Congress, shortly after FDR died, pass laws to tap the "so called" endless money for other Gov't spending. It now is a Ponzi scheme created by our illicit politicians. If you think SS will take care of you, think again.

        • Allen Logue

In addition, the system is approaching insolvency because an ever-increasing number of people collecting funds that never paid into the system. For example, did you know that every Cuban and Haitian immigrant to the US is allowed to collect social security for 7 years once they become a Lawfully Admitted for Permanent Residence (LAPR) immigrant?

    • johnsnare

Free stuff, for sure. The new America, land of the free and home of the TAKERS..The GOP, in my opinion, has become old, tired, and boring. They need to get on board with the new diverse America. Show me the money honey. I may be illegal, but i still want free stuff, where is the line,? Why should I work,? my neighbors work, and I collect a check for sitting at home. I just love this country. Does this sound familiar.? This is the Obama voter.,

      • Guest

How very sad that this is the message that gets votes in the USA instead of making us a stronger nation, we will become weaker and more prone to a lesser life for our children and grandchildren.

        • johnsnare

Truly sad, unregistered, and so very true.  I live in Florida, the home to more illegals, then any other State.  Free stuff.?  Plenty in Florida.

        • John Hart

I disagree with the thrust of the argument, the system is fair, the poor are looking for a handout and that's why Romney lost. In fact the argument's crap. The poor are enslaved by the system and "pay" all the "taxes" in terms of time they work. Unfortunately like slaves at the time of Dread Scott, they're no longer needed and have to be put down. How to do it is the problem. Our elite masters can't just haul them off to the showers and gas them, it's got to be done by slight of hand, indoctrinate them with pornography and kill them in their wombs.

The majority are oblivious to what is really going on, including most Republican leaders and all Democratic leaders. Our minds are clouded by

Satan's lies, few recognize the seriousness of what we've done and allowed to be done. The Church didn't condemned or even call out the sociopath child killers in their midst, it still gives them speaking engagements.

The American people are getting just what they deserve for allowing the Abortion Holocaust to continue for decades and be propagated all over the world. It's time for a new approach, it's time to recognize the inherent unfairness of our system of governance and correct it, win back the poor and set America back on the path of God given rights.

      • tampapatriot

Sure makes sense that our Founders stipulated that to be eligible to vote you
must be a land owning tax payer. Now we have the freeloaders voting on the
tax land owners pay. Can we say we need a Conservative Party - aligned with
our Constitution, put a stop to all the handouts, otherwise, we are done! !

        • T.J.

Actually, a white, male, land owning taxpayer is a more accurate description

        • johnsnare

Unfortunately, the Founders, and their priniples, are not taught in our schools.  They are taught that America is an agressive, and plundering Nation.  I hear this from my grandchildren.  Our Founders, unfortunately, are part of ancient History, that the new liberal left wing education system, avoids. Social Justice, and redistribution of wealth is the new left wing liberal battle cry. Somewhere along the line they have forgotten about the GREATNESS of America, and all we have done for the entire world.  All our wars, minus our Civil war, were fought in another part of the world, and fortunately we were the victor.  How many nations, owe their existence to America.?  This is what our children need to learn, not how racist we supposedly are.  Yes, we have warts, and scars. So do many other countries, yet we continue to be the destination of many foreign born individuals, who risk their lives to get here.  God Bless America.  John Nicoletti, Naples, Florida

        • SL Brow

Notice the people who teach this are here enjoying all the benifits. It is like the frog story. Put a frog in hot water he will jump right out. put him in cold water and slowly turn up the heat. He dies. America is well on her way to a slow death. Sad to watch

        • donnarooty

She died on November 6, 2012!

        • Tim

She was murdered by a lot of ignorant foreigners the people are not allowed to protect themselves from.

        • Judy Anderson Hamby

Yes she did - and I cried.

        • pointdan

Well said and most of us agree.
Libs have controlled education for years and it is finally rewarding their destructive efforts. Parents - take control of your school boards and curriculum. Get rid of the libs and commies and TAKE over. God Bless.

        • johnsnare

Thank you for the kind words.

        • ncmichigan

Great post, John! God bless you, too! You don't see any of the freeloaders
(who claim we're racist because we won't vote for a black man who isn't good for America) leaving for all those other wonderful socialist countries, do you?

        • Old Observer

In fact, they have been rewriting our history books! Someone with the wherewithal should make a project of collecting examples of our older history books--maybe in time we will again be able to teach a new generation the truth and the satisfaction of personal accomplishment

        • johnsnare

Excellent point, Old Observer.  As you know, our education system has been taken over by the extreme left leaning liberal society, who have done an excellent job of changing the way America should exist. We have a collection of Socialist, Marxist, thinkers, who  are students of the Saul Alinsky, mindset.  No more independent thinking, but brainwshed children, who march to a different drummer.  Collectivism, and socialism, go hand in hand, and unfortunately, we have politicians, who have a similar mindset.  Pretty damn sad.  John Nicoletti, Naples, Florida

        • Granpa David

"When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic." Benjamin Franklin
"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." Alexis de Tocqueville, 1840
All summed up in two words: "Free Obamaphones"

      • Granpa David

Johnsnare. Get on board with the people riding in the wagon, that should be pulling the wagon? That is a dead end road. We must bring them up , not let them pull us down, and I am sure that is what you meant. Communication is a growing problem as their receivers are on a different frequency from our transmitters. And when we try to pull them up to a greater level, they just tune it out. We may have to look at secession, and form our own system, as Jefferson said we must when the master is no longer tolerable.

      • randy

The problem with the GOP is that they thnk they can't win an election without making a bigger tent and acting like DemocRATS. That's the problem. If you want to act like Dems, then there is no difference between the two. If the Republicans don't understand that, they might as well join the Democrat Party. Republicans are supposed to be conservatives. I'm getting tired of voting for people that don't pass the smell test. The Republicans either need to wake up or expect a third party to put them out to pasture.

        • johnsnare

          Excellent Comment, Randy.  Totally agree.

    • GRBW

Thanks for this deep, intellectual thesis. I guess that by your standards, as a matter of principle, people who would rather work, but cannot find a job that will support their families should instead refuse to take government subsidies and let their families starve to death. I posit that the responsibility for the lack of quality jobs rests squarely upon the shoulders of overly intrusive government(s). However, I think it both smug and errant to consider that all people who have received government assistance at any time during Mr. Obama's first term would only vote for candidates who offer "free stuff, and socialism."

      • jic811

Not those but the ones that do not want to work and some third gen takers. So many worthless takers.

      • Gretagarbo123

There is no Republican who would deny assistance to people who temporarily need help. Key word - temporarily. That isn't the case in our country. There are many who collect forever (and I don't mean the disabled). Use your head and do the math. It's not going to work. Automatically giving a world of benefits to illegals isn't going to work either. The country cannot support this. Look at the state of California. You are deliberately twisting this around. Obama wants a whole country of people getting handouts, while those who make $200,000 (or less) will be supporting them. Many of the people who can't find work, can't find it because Obama has destroyed jobs. You can't regulate companies to death and no company is going to expand when Obamacare costs are hanging over them.

      • machodog

Romney lost because the 47% of Americans that he "won't worry about" showed him a 47% of their own. Life looks different to rich people.

        • Craig Smith

He was right. He knew that Obama was guaranteed the 47% that don't pay any income tax. He didn't care about trying to reach them because he knew it would not change their mind. He was stupid to say that they think that they are all victims and are lazy. That sunk his boat as much as anything else. That little punk grandson of Jimmy Carter is still happily unemployed. He is a victim and lazy!

        • ff_emt

and the other 53% split the vote with their "principled" votes for the independents who had a snowball's chance in h3ll of winning.

        • wildbill

machodog those people did not get rich by laying on their sorry ass with thei hand and penis out

        • machodog

          How do you know that?
Also, many of them got rich climbing up the backs of not so rich people. Many are rich because they're born into it. there are very few self-made rich people. They either inherited it or stabbed people in the back to get there. In the older days honest millionaires were plentyful. Today, the rich ones are the sons and grandsons.

        • Allen Logue

Machodog, go groom yourself. The only thing you know about the wealthy is what you are told by your masters @ BSNBC. The inherited wealthy in this country make up less than 5% of those with incomes > $500,000 annually.

Go ahead and believe Marxist slogans if it makes you feel better. It won't help you make a better life for yourself or your family, but it will ensure you have a lifelong excuse for lack of success and permanent membership in the 47% club. How's that for hope and change?

        • twocolts

He lost because he cannot compete with Santa Claus, the 47 % were not about to leave the gov'ment tit, the other 3 % that voted for the criminal want to jump on while it's hot.

        • Allen Logue

It also looks different to people who work for a living and embrace liberty over subservience. The old canard that only the rich want government out of their lives is an invention of the hammer and sickle crowd.

There ARE a few individuals who TEMPORARILY receive "free stuff" who still oppose øvømit; don't generalize. I work a PT job as a substitute teacher (no, I'm NOT a socialist lib! and refuse to do this FT because I will NOT support the teachers' union, which has a stranglehold on the state in which I live) and bring in less than $15,000 annually. I have in the past occasionally needed to get assistance (a fact which embarrasses me), and regularly receive mail to renew applications for this & that. I don't; I only did so when absolutely necessary. The regular takers have no pride; I do have pride in being able to take care of myself, I spend wisely, have way fewer "toys" than the mostly illegal kids in the school district, and save what I can for the summer. I voted against øvømit twice & would again if presented with the outrageous opportunity. Be nice.

The moment you start getting anything free and its offered to you on an on-going basis, you will vote for whoever is willing to continue it. Its simple. People are lazy, don't want to get up at 6am to go to work and earn an honest living. Its going to get much worse because we don't have any money left and then watch and see what happens. Keep your guns loaded.

In my opinion it appears that the GOP, and everyone involved in the election, intended for obama to win. The GOP put in a really bad candidate knowing he couldn't win. A former demoncrat, Romney was made an offer he couldn't refuse by those demoncrats.
It would be interesting to know why Romney started out over a year ago to run for president and then bowed out...THEN SUDDENLY he's in the race again. How all the other contenders (Cain, Perry, etc.) were shamed out of the race, but Romney wasn't.
Well...that's MY conspiracy theory and I'm stickin' to it.

      • Detes

Looking back at that second debate...when Candy Crowley mistakenly corrected Romney on the Libya fiasco with a falsehood, I wonder what Newt would have done to her. Not saying Newt would have won, but he would have whooped up in the last two debates.

        • theendisfar

Newt would have fared for better than Obamney. Romney was a pure anti-Obama vote. With all his flip-flopping nobody could trust that he wouldn't cave to pressures, whims, or outright blackmail.

The Lesser of Two Evils you know is better than the one you do not.

How about all the Libertarian Leaning people of any Party getting together to work together on the issues that we agree on and let the Two party System argue about Abortion and Gay marriage. Once we get the REAL problems we all face mostly solved everyone can go back to whining and bitching about issues that we'll never agree on.

'Tis sad to read your post. To hear some people talk about God and Jesus raining down havoc on mankind makes me angry that that is how they see this loving kind God of ours. I don't see God that way. I think that mankind for the most part brings it on himself. We are victims of our own circumstances...we reap what we sow.

As for your prayers not being answered...I don't know what to tell you. I have no answers. But I do know that I can not tell you what God is thinking and I think that if He was punishing us, He would come down here and explain His actions and he would not punish the ones that don't deserve it.

        • Allen Logue

If you spent any time studying the scriptures, you would know that God allows mankind to punish itself. He has offered us a plan for prosperity and peace; violations of that plan result in destruction. A just and loving God gave us free will to choose which path we will follow. When conservatives warn against immorality and covetousness (wanting the possessions/wealth of others without gaining it through individual effort, unbridled physical passions, etc.), it's not because we are "imposing" our values on others. It's because we know the fruits of rebelling against His plan and opt for a different path.

    • Al

Republicans do not want to admit it but they ran a terribly flawed candidate. He was a draft dodger, he outsourced American jobs, wanted to privatize Social Security and Medicare, and made his true feelings known about the common people. Not to mention, that he alienated the Ron Paul supporters through his scheming at the RNC to steal Paul's deligates. He wasn't trusted. If Obama was white this election would have been no contest at all.

      • Allen Logue

Yeah, privatizing social security is a really bad idea... (sarcasm off).

Furthermore, calling him a draft dodger is libel, plain and simple. Your using that term betrays your anti-LDS biggotry for all to see.

    • myinsight

The GOP is no more to blame then those who did not vote. This country was given to us in a by God. Read the history of this country and realize the miracles that only God could have brought about. God has give us the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Now those of you you sat down and refused to take part in one of our most precious freedoms, be ready for some reality here. God will not be mocked. It very well could be that He will look down upon us and say, "Okay, why should I protect those freedoms I have given you if you refuse to vote. And furthermore, who do you think you are playing God like that. I gave you a choice and you refused to honor that choice by voting. Why should I bother to protect you when you will not let me be God."

    • Patriot

It wasn't anywhere near half of the country. Let's not get goofy. OK?
Too many for sure but not half.

    • oledad48

Yes, and more: 3 million Republicans stayed home because Romney was too liberal, and so handed the nation to the socialist. What sense does that make? Do these folks feel better having stood on principles to elect a man who has none? We handed the highest office to the sleaziest candidate? Killing babies and ambassadors isn't as bad as depriving unmarried young women their $9/month birth control?

You have to hand it to the Chicago thugs. They were able to take the quintessential good man -- wise, successful, devoted, giving, classy, just nice -- and turn him into BainMonster the Greedy. The demons are laughing deliriously tonight.

    • Doodlebug

We needed a candidate who would have stood up to obummer, period. Call him a liar instead of letting him get away with it, i.e. the event that took the lifes of our ambassador and 3 others in Libya and lying about it. Romney just let it go! He should have brought it up and made him give answers. Answers we still don't have. We needed someone who would have fought for the American people and not let this idiot get away with the same promises he promised the first time around and, he knows he won't keep this time either. This election was a joke!! People admitting that they voted twice and illegal immigrants voting too AND THEY DID! Aren't you proud of yourself, those of you who voted for the arrogant, lying inexperienced, ideologically radical unaccomplished shell of a candidate. You should hang your heads in shame for what you have done to America and all the freedoms she offered. God help you.

  • Optinetgroup

Although my fondest dream was for
Governor Romney to win I totally disagree with your comment that
"Republican Mitt Romney lost an easily winnable election".
The cards were stacked against him as he chose to tell the truth.
Obama won with the "takers" behind him while the "makers"
supported Governor Romney. Unfortunately, as we are watching in
Greece and a number of other countries over the past number of years,
when a country implements policies that constantly give more and more
handouts a tipping point is reached where the "takers" out
weigh the "makers", as was vividly shown on Tuesday.
Governor Romney told the truth that the best and only solution was to
implement policies that would ramp up employment leading to a vibrant
economy resulting in a cut in the need for handouts and by cutting
the size of a bloated government. The "makers" get it. The
"takers" saw it as a direct attack on the handouts that
they had come to expect and believe were entitled to through the
rhetoric of the Democratic party...this was the core and fundamental
message of the Obama campaign. It is now painfully apparent that the
"takers", many of the people on food stamps, welfare,
unemployment, disability, students, and single women (looking for
security) and government employees enabled by the private sector
unions, saw the Republican message as a direct threat to their
financial situation. Governor Romney took the risk of telling the
truth while the Obama team did everything to convince the "takers"
that Governor Romney and the Republicans were committed to taking all
of the handouts away. As PM Thatcher said ""The problem
with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money
[to spend]." I believe that Governor Romney could have pulled
the country back from the tipping point but President Obama will take
the country over the cliff either through ignorance and ideology or
pushed by his “taker” and left wing constituents.

Romney also had to run against the MSM and the public school curriculum.

    • redd

I was right there with you until you got to the point of lumping the Disabled and Social Security Recipients in with the "Takers"!!!! Disability and Social Security is the ONLY Legitimate Entitlement in this Country!!! The Disability and Social Security is something WE paid into, per our Government for the 44 years we worked!! It's not our Fault that our Government took the Money from it and Pissed it away!! That money we receive from those programs, is money we paid in!! Which therefore does NOT make Me a "Taker"!!!! My whole working life, I never once got Food Stamps or any other kind of Help from the Government, so in the future, try to be more specific and Literate in what you say!!!

      • Carol Fryer

You are right in the original forms. All it is now is a tax that government can use any way they see fit. So they made it an entitlement. Woe is us for ever ever believing anything government says. Nothing is ever free, its a trap. This generation will find out too late too.

      • OldwhiteKoot

Redd, do you realize the disability roles have increased about 40% and the average age of disability recipient is 47 ? Disability has become the new "hidden welfare" under Obama. No way has a 40 something paid enough into the system to cover their disability payments. Are you aware that a single parent with one small child draws a SS check to stay home in addition to the childs payments from his mother regardless of their ability to work. I have a relative who is 36, has a child who is 2 and his wife died of an overdose. With SS, foodstamps, community college grants, free healthcare, he makes almost 42k a year tax free which is twice what he would be making working. Do you think he or his wife paid anywhere close to that in SS during their working life?
You need to educate yourself on reality of ALL govt. programs.

      • jaycee

Great post Redd. Like you, I've been working since I was 18 and paid into SS every year...I retired at 65 and the last 10 years I maxed out my SS...I took nothing from the gov't....The SS check that I receive is payback for what I paid into the system. Unlike Obama's 47%ers, these people have their hand out every day and I can only see it getting worse...I wouldn't doubt by 2016 we will be in the 50-55% area....when does the balloon burst? What happens when we can't hand these people free money/benefits? My grandchildren will inherit a mess created by the current administration...America lost with these election.

        • wildbill

I have been paying ss and taxes since I was 15 and have never collected unemployment and food stamps. The ss check i now receive is partial payback for the money i paid in

      • Buster Atkins

I too had never received from social security until I became 62 and started drawing what is mine. I am now 77 and have enjoyed what I have gotten. I am sure now that the money that is in the fund will be soon be stolen by our great president. If you think that I really mean he is great, I am sorry to mislead you. He is nothing but a thief, liar, and muslem.

      • machodog

        • Allen Logue

Jeez dogboy, you think people care what you write because you do it in all caps?

Social security has become an entitlement to millions who collect it without paying into it. That you seem to not know this makes your commenting on the issue rather uncredible. No one begrudges those who dutifully paid into SS during their working years. The problem is the patronage of the funds (giving the money to non-contributors) and its structural unsustainability. In addition, improvements in medical care allowing contributors to live much longer than originally estimated by congress when the program was created. As a result, a significant proportion of SS recipients are allowed to draw funds long after the investment value of their contributions have been depleted. In other words, SS is a government run Ponzi scheme that has no chance of existing for another 50 years without MASSIVE (that's for you since you are so fond of caps) increases in SS taxes that will consume > 30% of each contributors income.

      • Allen Logue

In principle, you are correct. However, the amount of money paid in disability claims too often exceeds the money paid in. It, like social security, is structurally unsustainable. In other words, they are ponzi schemes that, if offered by the private sector, would ensure lengthy prison sentences.

    • Preston Guillory

Many Americans are simply in denial or not following what is going on in the world. Benghazi was enough to have brought down any 'white' President. Obama continues to fulfill lowered expectations amongst white voters which is reverse racism. Our expectations for him are so low that his incompetance is accepted as 'Otay' as Buckwheat used to say. Whoever is Obama's handler(s) are very clever indeed. There seems to be nothing he can do, no act, no violation of the Constitution that weak willed members of either House seem willing to hold him to task over.
Be prepared for the worse as we are out of money and Obama is out of ideas to correct anything to restore America to its greatness, not that he ever intended to do so. The one bright side to this is, there are young Community Organizers all over America with no skill sets, no ideas, no plan, who now know they can be President some day. Kind of an obscene Horatio Alger hope for the future.

      • Gretagarbo123

I'm sorry, but I think his handlers suck and are stupid. It's the mainstream media who got him reelected! By hiding everything he has done, especially Benghazi. If he had good handlers, he would have saved the embassy personnel. They are all mindless. I don't even think he would listen to a handler though. He thinks he's the king.

    • loran carlson

A case in point, my sister-in-law works at the stock market in San Francisco. She stated to me that she was told that if Romney was elected, he would close her stock market. Really!

      • jic811

Sane for union. I know a union that told workers plant COULD close with Romney!

        • jaycee

Well did anyone say the United Mine Workers is being closed down by Obama and proven reserves of mineable coal is something like 300 years. The UMW will be a thing of the past under him. Coal isn't the bad boy here with all the washers and scrubbers they have in place, a coal fired plant produces lily white smoke, unlike some of the diesel engines I've seen on trucks and buses and trains. Yep, I'm a coal-miner's spent 43 years in the mines....raised 7 boys and all with clean records and kids of our own and no one is on welfare or disability....

        • Allen Logue

That's pure projection. The truth is an ever increasing number of companies announcing layoffs due to the increase in costs associated with Obummercare and EPA regulations.

The Cloward Piven strategies will be tried with increased brazenness over the next 4 years.

    • jic811

Also, Obummer did a very orchestrated steal with voter fraud. ye 50% OF OHIO military voted --- BS. He is a lying thief and I will not say he is my press!

    • Gretagarbo123

Yes, and it's also difficult to beat an incumbent. Some people just vote for the familiar name, too. I'll bet tons of people didn't even know who Obama was running against. Duh!

      • twocolts

        Yes, tons of people..blacks.

    • Gary De Capua

Romney lost because he said three things that kill him. 1. Repeal the (Free) Health Care. 2.Tighten the immigration laws and, 3. Put people back to WORK.

The illegal immigrants (Mexicans) wants amnesty and Free handouts, however they do work. The freeloaders (47%), takers for free phones, then you have the Collage students getting students loans for collage that they do not have to pay back, and now for the main reason….becasue of the THE DUMMY DOWN OF AMERICA!!!

    • DisgustedInTexas

The equation is similar to the statement that not all muslims are terrorists, but virtually all terrorists ARE muslims. Not all democrats are serial welfare/food stamp recipients, but virtually all serial welfare/food stamp recipients ARE democrats. The question is which currency will be the one to follow the dollar as the world's reserve currency? There is a very bleak future coming down the road for America...

    • Guest

The people who should have voted for Romney stayed home. This is such a shame. You are so right in your post. Where were the People that took the time over the years to study history and economics and are interested in keeping their country free and economically viable. I too believe that Gov. Romney would have made a great president. However, he was beat by a "politician" who will make America more vunerable to be destroyed from within and without!!

      • twocolts

Your future-tense scenario should be presented as present-tense..Obama IS destroying began on Jan. 20th, 2009, at Inauguration.

    • ff_emt

I was all for giving you TEN points, until the "unemployment, disability" bit, so only eight. Folks on UE have paid into it, as well as those on SS - not necessarily SSI. I know of some who tried to scam for SSI because their lazy-but-capable 18-year-old kid has diabetes & didn't want to work. (Denied, and royally pissed because of that)

      • Allen Logue

With all due respect, individuals DO NOT pay for unemployment, companies do. It is an entitlement for the unemployed middle class. While a significant proportion of those who have collected unemployment return to the work force as part of the 53%, it is a temporary entitlement just the same.

  • bobseeks

It is time to bury the GOP and begin a conservative, Christian party. The GOP threw this election for some type of payoff. I don't know what it is, and I may never know, but there had to be a payoff for the leaders of the GOP to lose against a lying, incompetent, slimeball like mao-bama.

    • Jason Burns

It's not the first time they threw the election. Back when they wanted to bring in a central banking system and the Republican candidate was against this, they brought in a second Republican candidate to split the vote to allow the Democrat to win so they could push their agenda and create the Federal Reserve. .

    • simpletony1

Actually, it's far past time to bury the democrap party but they've got us against the wall now and it will only get worse and the giveways become more prevalent. We're cooked now, america is now spelled with a lower case 'a' and we're gonna find out what obama meant when he told the russian to wait until his next term...this is gonna hurt

Very sobering, Gary, so what's your solution?

    • Patriot

Conservatism is the answer. It works every time it's tried.
      Romney is no conservative.
We need true Conservative leadership, We need to support the young Turks coming up the ranks. We should take a lesson from other organizations. We should have an enforcement arm that is well armed and which can deal with the likes of inner-city low-life's, public sector union thugs. Sometimes, people need to be hurt and hurt bad.
We need to stop bending over and grabbing the ankles in an attempt to be more like them. That hasn't gotten anywhere has it? They need to become more like us or perish.

We need to start controlling more media outlets and boycotting the advertisers of those left wing outlets that have purposefully attacking our cause and leaders.

      • USCBIKER

I agree with every single point you list. Keep in mind, at one point Ryan and Cantor were called "young guns", they're really young establishment yes boys.
I was David Rivera's legis. contact dentist in FL and in DC. He was brash & conservative but had too many skeletons and is now gone. I'm happy to support any young turks who are the real deal and will challenge Boo Hoo (Beohner) for SOTH. Got any in mind? As for enf. arm, I know the unions do that all the time. So, who would comprise this arm? The way this conversation's going, maybe we need to meet in person. As for media outlets, even FNC won't cover some things. I was furious that Romney never once mentioned there were 1,300 waivers given out for Obamacare! That, IMO, was a KO punch for the debates. WTF is wrong with him that he backed off? To me, his biggest error was not follwing up and finishing Obama off on Benghazi in the 2nd debate. He also never mentioned to this day, Sam La Hood (DOT sec.'s son) is still held in Cairo, some ME policy, huh? I emailed Mitt, his son, Portman and even Marco to use this stuff and only got the proverbial crickets as a non-reply. You need to compile a hit list, just like the faggots do, of companies who adv. on pinko networks. I boycotted all who targetted Rush.

  • Al Castagna

Romney is lame and we needed someone with fire and balls.

    • simpletony1

      I'm afraid this is true

    To All Republicans

The movie, “The Obama Deception” very well predicted
the future results of Obama's Presidency way back from when he was sworn in

and so did the second part titled, “Fall of the Republic”

Yes, Obama is the enemy of your freedom and prosperity, your
    future and your children's future.

But do you really know who Mitt Romney is?

The following are 40 ways that Barack Obama and Mitt Romney
    were essentially the same candidate....

    1. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported TARP.

    2. Mitt Romney supported Barack Obama's "economic stimulus"

    3. Mitt Romney says that Barack Obama's bailout of the auto
    industry was actually his idea.

    4. Neither candidate supports immediately balancing the federal budget.

    5. They both believe in big government and they both have a track record of being big spenders while in office.

    6. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both fully support the Federal

    7. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are both on record as saying that the president should not
question the "independence" of the Federal Reserve.

    8. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both said that Federal
Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke did a good job during the last financial crisis.

    9. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both felt that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke
deserved to be renominated to a second term.

    10. Both candidates oppose a full audit of the Federal Reserve.

    11. Both candidates are on record as saying that U.S. Treasury Secretary
Timothy Geithner has done a good job.

    12. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have both been big promoters of universal health care.

    13. Mitt Romney was the one who developed the plan that Obamacare was later based upon.

    14. Wall Street absolutely showers both candidates with campaign

    15. Neither candidate wants to eliminate the income tax or the

    16. Both candidates want to keep personal income tax rates at the exact same levels for the vast majority of

    17. Both candidates are "open" to the idea of
imposing a Value Added Tax on the American people.

    18. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the TSA is
    doing a great job.

    19. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the NDAA.

    20. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both supported the renewal of the Patriot Act.

    21. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the federal
government should be able to indefinitely detain American citizens that are
    considered to be terrorists.

    22. Both candidates believe that American citizens suspected
of being terrorists can be killed by the president without a trial.

    23. Barack Obama has not closed Guantanamo Bay like he
promised to do, and Mitt Romney actually wants to double the number of prisoners held there.

    24. Both candidates support the practice of "extraordinary

    25. They both support the job-killing "free trade" agenda
    of the global elite.

    26. They both accuse each other of shipping jobs out of the
country and both of them are right.

    27. Both candidates are extremely
    soft on illegal immigration.

    28. Neither candidate has any military experience. This
is the first time that this has happened in a U.S. election since 1944.

    29. Both candidates earned a degree from Harvard University.

    30. They both believe in the theory of man-made global warming.

    31. Mitt Romney has said that he will support a "cap and
trade" carbon tax scheme (like the one Barack Obama wants) as long as the entire
    globe goes along with it.

    32. Both candidates have a very long record of supporting strict gun control measures.

    33. Both candidates have been pro-abortion most of their
careers. Mitt Romney's "conversion" to the pro-life cause has
been questioned by many. In fact, Mitt Romney has made millions on Bain Capital's investment in a company
called "Stericycle" that incinerates aborted babies collected from
    family planning clinics.

    34. Barack Obama and Mitt Romney both believe that the Boy Scout ban on openly gay troop
    leaders is wrong.

    35. They both believe that a "two state solution"
will bring lasting peace between the Palestinians and Israel.

    36. Both candidates have a history of nominating extremely liberal judges.

    37. Like Barack Obama, Mitt Romney also plans to add "signing statements" to bills when he signs them into

    38. They both have a horrible record when it comes to job creation.

    39. Both candidates believe that the president has the power
to take the country to war without getting the approval of the U.S. Congress.

    40. Both candidates plan to continue running up more
government debt even though the U.S. government is already 16 trillion dollars in debt.

Who is Mitt Romney? He is the
son of Rockefeller Republican George Romney. Look at who called him “..our
favorite son!” None other than globalist kingpin Nelson Rockefeller.

Mitt Romney would have been the enemy of your freedom and
prosperity, and your children's future just as much as Obama. He is a
“Rockefeller Republican” and true to the legacy of J.D Rockefeller, he is as
slick as the snake oil selling family of banksters who pushed his father, and
now push him. Just watch this....

“The argument that the two parties
should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the
Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to
the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties
should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw
the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound
    or extreme shifts in policy.”-
Carrol Quigley, Tragedy and Hope (We the People's Tragedy and the
    elite's hope)

No doubt, if Romney had won, the destination
would be the same for America, but we would have taken a more scenic route to
oblivion. And most of you neo-conned sheeple would have gone back to sleep
thinking that your “man” was in charge and all was well.

I can't prove it but I suspect that the fix was in, and Obama knew
it. He went to play basketball yesterday.
The Lie Bold (Diebold) machines have been proven to be easy to hack.

All things considered, this may be a blessing
in disguise, for you no doubt are NOT going back to sleep again anytime soon
    after what happened yesterday.

Obama now has a maximum of four years
remaining in the office; If Romney or any of the other unqualified Republican's
were elected then one would probably be looking at twelve to sixteen years
before the people would have another opportunity to vote for a qualified
candidate. This is based upon the premise that the unqualified Republican would
probably get two terms, or at least prohibit a qualified candidate after his
first term; then another switch back to an unqualified Democrat for at least
four and maybe eight years. During the Republican Primaries, The establishment
Republicans repeatedly demonstrated conclusively that they will undermine a qualified
candidate on their own ticket and are opposed to limited Constitutional
government; they offered, realistically, twelve to sixteen more years of
failure. I don't think the Nation can survive another twelve to sixteen
years, it may be able to survive another four.

    If the Republican
Establishment had really wanted my vote, they would have needed to run and
support qualified candidates who support and defend The Constitution - I'm not
listening anymore to their nonsense about being against Obama when they
undermined the only two qualified candidates they had, Congressman Paul and
Governor Gary Johnson. Since they would not support two qualified
candidates they did not get my vote for the unqualified candidate Mitt Romney. They
are liars and can not be trusted. They are only against Obama because
he is a democrat, not because they oppose his ideology and beliefs because they
are pretty much the same as Romney.

If the GOP were genuine in their belief of
limited government we would not have seen the DELIBERATE marginalization of the
best candidates. It's all smoke and mirrors; Simply one party with two names,
both intent on the ruination of America. I am sick of watching this puppet

There was One Candidate for President who has
shown by his example, by his past record who he truly is: A Christian who does
not brag about it, instead he walks the walk every day of his life practicing
the Golden Rule; A family man who has been married to the same woman for 55
years; The Patriarch of a family who are salt of the earth Americana at it's
very best; A true Constitutionalist who has never wavered from his principles
and Votes “NO” to every unconstitutional bill. And to those who say he did not
get enough legislation passed I say that is like criticizing a Nun for not
turning “tricks” in a brothel when her purpose for being there is to redeem the
harlots and show them a better way.

He does not boast, he does not brag, he does
not tell you he is the toughest so elect him, because he has demonstrated a
firm yet resilient purposefulness all his life and he speaks a simple yet
powerful truth. He does not want to “lead” you by manipulative tyranny, instead
his personal and political life is a benediction to virtue and inspires others
to listen, look and act. He does not want to control you or your life. He wants
you to live in Liberty. He wants you to live in Freedom. He does not seek the
Presidency to assuage his ego. He sought the Presidency so he can Serve the
People and Restore the Constitution and America and he was willing to forgo the
$400,000 that Obama is being paid, and only accept $39,336 to serve us.

If 7Up is the un-cola, Ron Paul is the
Un-Politician and America would not have had to choose from coke “Obama” or
pepsi “Romney.” Remember that you could have had a V8 in 08 instead of
McCain't. McCain was a ringer and so was Romney in 12. Instead you will have to
settle for O-bomb-a in 12. You could have had a Ron Paul instead and you would
have been feeling a whole lot better about it today, after the election.

You were warned that one of three likely
    scenarios would take place:

Ron Paul is a small little man with a lot of scary ideas.

      • Jason Burns

Yea, lots of scary ideas... like cutting spending, balancing the budget, no nation building, not attacking countries that didn't attack or threaten to attack us, guarding the border, auditing the private Federal Reserve bank that is not even Federal (like the Federal Express)

Yea, lots of very scary ideas indeed. Scary to the Banksters who are running this country into the ground. Scary to the Establishment, Liberals, and Socialists...

      • simpletony1

Besides that, he's nuts. Ever hear his scenario for the real 9-11?

Lies. Besides, do you trust everything the government tells you?

You have just made a list (although very long) of evidentiary reasons we MUST HAVE A THIRD PARTY! Whom will work for the smaller and smaller segment of working class! What happens when the last man working is out of a job, who will pay the taxes for all the rest?

Unfortunately, it's only going to get worse, btw, You need to do a bit more proofing on your article, especially the 1st paragraph.....)

  • David Klepinger

Perhaps Romney's biggest mistake was assuming people wanted more jobs. But why work for a living when you can vote for a living? The GOP has to make some changes if it wants to be viable in the future. Like it or not, the scale has tipped, and it's not going to reverse itself.

  • Anyone but Obama

Mitch McConnell is an ahole. How this POS got to be GOP leader in Senate is astouding. He and the other dope, John Boner (yeah. that's the way it should be spelled) are incompetent morons. They are the reason we lost. Every election we have to choose from two effing losers. When is the GOP going to put up a candidate that isn't a piece of crap? How the eff did we wind up with a moron like McCain last time?

You know what I think? I think it doesn't matter to any of them who is in charge, DEM or GOP. They just don't care. They are all in it, using us to get filthy rich. They don't do any work any more. Obama hasn't done a thing in 4 years except campaign. For the last 6 months he has campaigned nonstop using Air Force 1 to fly all over the place. Isn't that illegal?

Where is the GOP in any of this? Nowhere. Because they don't care, they are getting theirs so eff everyone. We are getting a royal screwing, people.

People should be aware that 12 million "LESS" people voted in 2012 than
in 2008 elections and obama received 9 million "LESS" votes than in 2008
and still won. Romney got more than 2 million "LESS" votes than McCain did in
2008. For this election being labeled and promoted as "the most
important election in the history of the country" on every conservative
web site, talk show and TV broadcast and how we were told how energized
the Republicans and the millions of evangelicals were to get out to vote
and right the ship - and yet there were 2 million "less" people voting
for the Republican candidate than in 2008? I think those missing voters
at the polls for the Republican candidate were the religious right and
left who couldn't bring themselves to vote for and Mormon and so much so
that they felt comfortable enough letting a muslim run the country.

    • threebarrs

Wow Ghostrider, I hope you are wrong about the religious right and left being unwilling to vote for a Mormon, but you are very likely absolutely correct in your assessment. That would show Obama voters are not the only STUPID voters in America.

  • dHb

Not everyone believes that Barry is a Muslim. I believe a number of Christians voted for Obama because they swallowed the lie that he is also a Christian and they just could not bring themselves to vote for a Mormon. What a sad commentary on religious beliefs and the unfortunate part they often play in politics.

Clean the GOP House Or We May Never See Another Republican President!

"I’m a registered Republican, a conservative and a Biblically based Christian – and I will probably change my political affiliation to independent. Why? Because the GOP has lost its way, as evidenced by the serving up of two liberal loser presidential candidates for the last two elections. Sadly, there is little expectation that the GOP has even an inkling that they have drifted off course. We need to clean the house of the party who thinks they are doing right in their own eyes. If we fail to replace the malignant leadership of the GOP NOW, we will have no hope for the Party to succeed at any time in the future. That is, if we have a future left after Barack Obama has completed his task of socializing America."

The GOP handed it over by having the most insane, war-mongering extremist group of Republicans in at least the last century. Romney gave into all of this to win the primary, and as a result lost all of the moderate independents. That is why he lost, he had to flip flop and etch a sketch so much to try to get back to the middle most smart people didn't believe it. The tea party republicans give republicans from the Eisenhower, Goldwater, Rockafeller era a bad name. They believe the world was created 5000 years ago, God told them
to run for office, we should tell people what they should do to their
own bodies and who they can marry, and that the artic sea ice is not
melting. These people are delusional and outright mean.

For what it is worth, the Republican states actually get more net money from the federal government than the states that went blue (get more than they pay in), New England, NY and the west coast are all net payers. So it looks like the red states are the 47% line. (Also when will people stop saying this 47% line of BS propoganda, that 47% includes mostly the retired, most of whom paid taxes all their life, and college students).

    • Lumpy Rutherford

What have you been smoking--or is it the Kool Aid? Warmongering? What war did Romney "monger"? Arctic sea ice IS melting. Every spring the ice melts, every winter it freezes again. This was known early in the last century--explorers to the polar ice caps had to arrive during the summer, to avoid having their ships caught in the ice when the seas froze again--Shackleton's ship was crushed by the ice, when his expedition arrived a little too late. If Al Gore ever learns to read, he might read "Shackleton", and come to realize that melting ice around the edges of the poles isn't a sign of "Global Warming", and when water freezes, it expands, when it melts back to a liquid, it contracts--that way, when "Global Warming" causes the ice caps to melt entirely, New York's shoreline will recede a little...By the way, if the world and oceans are getting so much warmer, isn't the ocean's rate of evaporation increasing? If so, then water vapor, which turns into vast clouds as it rises into the atmosphere would block the sun's rays, leading to global cooling.

The real reason Obama and other incumbents win is name recognition.
What do Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzenegger and
incumbents have in common? Name Fame. In other words, they were
famous for their name, but voters knew little to nothing about them when they
voted for them. Most people do not research candidates. They “go with the flow”
(herd). This is how 95+-% of Americans vote. The only way for a non-incumbent
to win is to get more Name Fame than the incumbent, if any, and other candidate(s).
Name Fame is how bad and/or corrupt politicians keep getting reelected. The

It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

  • gliverson

I honestly think we can cover well the loss in just a few thoughts or lines, no one thing did it to us, it was a serious combination of things:
1: The RNC is and was deeply flawed from the beginning. They thought that with Obama being so very Left, so spendy, so in deep national debt, that he could NOT win. Ooops!
2: The primary alone, as they sharpened their teeth on each other in such rancorous ways, left every one of them weak and vulnerable to leftist attacks later which incl Romney.
3: The RNC never learned from the amazing war machine that the Left used in 2008. They also did NOT take into account how the Left also learned, and did even more this time!
4: We failed to explain to the more conservative side of the "Right".... like those of Ron Paul and others of same concerns that we MUST remain united...... in fact the RNC did so disdanefully treat Ron Paul & ignored him, when they should have honored him as the fine and honorable man that he is ..... this dis-associated / dis-affected several milion people from the Party and many did not even vote - this alone could have cost USA the election!
5: The RNC is NOT totally ineffective and inefficient, but it IS rather defective and needs a SERIOUS house cleaning....... it needs to clean out the crap and return to it's basic Constitutional support role, and NEVER treat any of our "fringe" like they did Ron Paul!!!

  • i2luvmyusa

You will never convince me that voter fraud didn't play important part in Romney losing!
You had thousands of bogus letters going out to Republicans voter only challenging their eligibility to vote. You had voting machines that were not calibrated properly, cause Romney votes to jump to Obama. You had voters being told they had already voted by absentee ballot (early voting)! You had plies of registrations being destroyed. Military were denied their right to vote, due to the lack of voter ballots reaching them. Lets not forget the Black Panthers, intimating voters at the polls removing all Republicans judges (70) in Philly, till a judge ordered them back. I pray Col. West does what ever is necessary to start an investigation into voter mishandling in Fla!

  • Mike Kopp

You can't have it both ways. On the one hand you say liberals, liberal issues, free money drove voters to support Obama. Yet you say the most liberal Republican ever did not attract liberals. Vote totals for both candidates are down, so why didn't more moderates, more liberals vote for "the most liberal Republican?"

  • Barbara Johnson

Obama gave some free phones and got votes from the people. Maybe the GOP could have tried to up the antie that bribe to get the votes?

The GOP needs to change their ways if they ever want to win the Presidency again. They did Ron Paul wrong, and then they wouldn't even "allow" any of the 3rd party candidates to debate with them. That ticked some of us off. Romney wasn't a strong enough person to go up against O-bummer. Plus voter fraud was allowed to happen too. People were voting for Romney but the machines defaulted to Obama, some people were allowed to vote more than once if they were going to be voting for Obama. Our Presidential elections are far from being fair. I'm not even sure if I want to vote again the next time around, or maybe I will switch my registry to one of the 3rd parties for next time.

Reasons that otherwise normal* working** people voted for Obama:
    1) He got Osama

Perhaps not? Ohio exit polls showed something like union workers 60/40 for Obama while non-union
blue collar workers the opposite, about 40/60 for Obama. Regular

Mitt Romney as nice a guy as he is, is an example of trying to put your past in the closet, and re-invent yourself as something you have never been to make your self presentable to a different group of voters. In this case the conservatives. Many went ahead and cast their votes for him, but many did not, and he needed them all, even though in every facet of life he brought a resume that made his opponent look like a guy who never got out of kindergarten, but that was not enough reason to entrust the future of our nation to Mitt Romney.

And if that doesn't happen then we all have to simply resign ourselves to the fact that the US now resembles socialist Europe that any of any truly conservative person was willing to admit. Ron Paul was right, the Republicans (most of them anyway) favor big government and high-regulation of markets. There is little difference between the 2 parties anymore.

When Obama Looks in the Mirror, Does Obama see Socialist President Hugo Chavez?

In 1998, when the notorious Socialist Hugo Chavez was campaigning for president
of Venezuela, he was short thousands of votes to win. Previously Venezuelan
poor did not largely vote. Chavez promised the poor if elected President, the
Government would spend billions on welfare and other social-programs to help
Venezuelans. Chavez said government could pay for these programs by increasing
and levying new taxes on high income Venezuelans and businesses. Chavez won the
Venezuelan Presidential election after huge numbers of poor voted for him.

In 2008 when Obama was running for President he promised the poor unprecedented
expansion of welfare and entitlements. Like Hugo Chavez— Obama said U.S.
Government could pay for his social programs by taxing higher income Americans.

Since Obama’s 2008 presidential election it is clear that if U.S. Government
does not stop deficit spending and borrowing, America will be too broke to
sustain either its welfare programs or a sufficient military to protect the
Nation. The only promise Obama kept was to “level the playing field” for the
people—Obama has turned millions of Americans into beggars, setting the stage
for millions of Americans to accept a hybrid form of Marxist-socialism. America is separating into two distinct groups; those that work and pay their own
way and those that don’t that live off Free Stuff paid for by taxpayers. It
used to be when you met people at parties you would ask what line of work are
you in? Now the question is, do you work or live off the Taxpayers? America is TRAPPED: Obama will increasingly need to raise taxes on working Americans and businesses to pay for Free Stuff demanded by his constituency—in addition to unaffordable ObamaCare health insurance costs forced on Americans and businesses that increasingly will cause
higher unemployment, inhibit investment in America and impede businesses hiring
new employees. Obama appears to believe crushing small businesses with higher
taxes will transfer wealth to the workers. Workers can’t work for bankrupt
employers. Obama’s current economic polices will create vast unemployment
forcing more Americans onto the street to beg government for Free Stuff.

In 2012 socialist dictator Hugo Chavez was reelected by a small margin. Chavez
stated he would now step up nationalization of private companies including
taking over banks and financial institutions. May observers believe Chavez’s
take over of financial institutions will result in international loss of confidence in Venezuelan currency; that private companies will be forced to sell their assets to dictator Hugo Chavez for pennies on the dollar; at some point Chavez’s government will collapse after it runs out of other people’s money.

The Obama Government has already run out of taxpayer money. While Obama begs
the Communist Chinese Government for loans he is relentless to raise Americans’
taxes to pay for his out of control spending which appears unstoppable.

  • ceoJoe

Look, the GOP has got to stop protecting the economy at our demise when we get demonized by the liberals and the media. We should give Obama everything he wants. Vote for it and tell the American people we don't agree with it but they have voted that they want it and Obama says it will work. We can no longer tell them we will become Greece. We just need to go ahead and become Greece. When the benefits are cut to nothing, who will they vote for and how will the media make it our fault? If we can't beat Obama, who can we beat? We can't beat Hillary and she will be up next. The electorate and the unions have to be shown what good is welfare when there is no money coming in? What good is a union when we have no jobs for them to work? What good is an education when we have no jobs to work? We simply have to show them instead of tell them why it wont work.

I grew up during the depression in the thirties, and my father was on RELIEF, as it was called then. However, he was gone every day looking for a job. Nowadays, many millions, far too many, are supported by Washington. This is wrong.

    • NotJustContrarian

so - safey net is ok? It helped your father support his family until he was able to get a job. It was ok for me, but not for anyone else?

  • Lindy

Romney reminded me of McCain in the last few weeks of the campaign. He didn't go after Obama in regards to Libya or Fast and Furious or even bring up the visitors list at the White House which included the names of members of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. He could have brought up the 1 billion dollars that Obama wants to give the Muslim Brotherhood but Romney remained silent as if he gave up like McCain did in 08.

    • Tim Brown

he was just being himself then:)

  • Paul Broussard

    Time for us to SHRUG!

  • Stewart Little

In thorough cause analysis there root or primary cause(s) and contributing causes. The contributing causes, in a close election based on root/primary, can make the difference in a few critical percentage points and win a close election.

Perhaps Romney was our best shot at winning the independents, but did he woo them with a forceful and suitably informative campaign? I say not. Did he mitigate (could he) the original sin white guilt factor that is still present (Ok, give the affirmative action dunce a 2nd shot just to show we are not bigots). Is the Republican brand viable or did Akin and Murdoch sully it again with women (someone shoot those guys)? Is the Republican conservative social policies platform viable? Someone needs to do a Force Field and RCA analysis on this election and figure out what to do, lest we leapfrog even the country club socialist European countries with near full-on Marxism. And again, we may be past the "free stuff" tipping point anyway as many Euro countries and some states and many US municipalities have found. Hard to beat Santa Claus!

  • netandyawho

Obama will now increase the pace to spend the Country into bankruptcy
and curtail the increase in employment by using tax dollars to
subsidize job development in countries overseas and restricting
investment in new jobs here. Once that is accomplished there will be
very little defense manufacturing jobs left. It will make us militarily
vulnerable to Russia and China. It will cause civil unrest, thus
giving the atheistic Communist Democrats a reason to use the 1.4 billion rounds of
hollow point ammunition against all patriotic Americans who show the
least bit of resistance. You will see all Americans suffer more than the
Russian and Chinese peoples ever suffered under their oppressive
governments. There will be no freedom of religion, no freedom of
speech, no rights to bear arms, no security in ones papers, no privacy
in ones homes, and no rights to a fair trial by ones peers. There will
be a one child policy by forced abortions performed in tax dollar funded Planned Parenthood Clinics to bring down the population such as is in place in China today.

When a person is no longer able work because of age or physical and/or mental disability, they will be summarily executed so as not to be a monetary drag on society.

Obama may not get the job entirely done in the next four years. But, he will
set this up by continuing to add more people to the welfare rolls, so
that his minions of like minded evil doers will easily be elected by the
then majority of citizens on welfare. Eventually, those citizens on
welfare that are able to work will be forced to work or they will find
themselves in the same predicament as the aforementioned aged or
    physically and/or mentally disabled.

Welcome to the new American FORWARD movement the idiots just freely elected to have.

  • Carol Fryer

How did so many miss the back room deals between Boehner and Obama. Oh well. We have 4 more years of them. 2 democratic parties pretending like good cop bad cop. Now they ask......What happened with the GOP. Guess what. Fox is saying its because they are not democratic enough......Oh boy. They are all out to lunch. Just give em more free stuff.

  • Robert G. Perrin

The problem now is where do we go from here, that is, those of us who are not among the 47% paying no federal income taxes. Demographics are such that things will only get worse for those pulling the wagon, as opposed to those ridding in the wagon.

  • loran carlson

I hear all these excuses for why Romney lost and I guess sometime someone will hit on the real cause. To me it's simple. Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast at precisely the same time as the election. Now to me, a hurricane is an act of God, correct? So I say to Romney, you have been blessed by God. He didn't want you to win the election. You are a righteous man who is without sin as far as politics is concerned. You manage your family in the right way and that is important. We all know that this nation has abandoned God the same way the Israelites did in the desert. Obama has the obligation to run the country now. He will fail and with that progressivism. Obama is no Moses.

    • StoneTheHeritics

God sent the hurricane to ensure a win for Obama. I don't agree with your theory for his reason, I believe God was looking out for the poor. You all seem to miss the point of Jesus' message. We must help those that cannot help themselves. The hatred of the poor and the dismissive nature of those who are terribly handicapped or elderly and feeble is repulsive.

  • Victor Barney

I hate to disagree with you GodFather, but women & blacks, both tend to be "GATHERER'S," women via their biology itsef and Blacks through a combination of biology & "choice" would LOVE to be TAKEN CARE OF BY OTHERS, which is totally against our anglo-saxon & also I know our Cuban's population's culture! I also happen to know that my Italin part of my culture(maturnal grandmother born in foothills of Milan, Italy also favored individuality over group control, because unlike Sicily, which is also Arab, don't forget, where Milan has mostly even has German's spending their weekends & etc. there? Just saying...

  • Mike

Most people with a brain know that we are going to face a very dangerous and volatile period in our history. Sometime between now and next June, a very serious problem will erupt and turn this country upside down. Thomas Jefferson was very wise and said a little rebellion now and then can be a good thing. Look for something to happen in the next few months. It will not be a pretty picture.

    • CARLjr

      What are you suggesting?

Romney did NOTHING wrong..You just cant BEAT SANTA CLAUS. Free stuff for ALL that vote for ME

  • blancojoe

This article is exactly right. I have been saying for ages that the Democrats offer freebies and way too many people run for that candy cane. The blacks showed their racism and their greed. The Hispanics showed their "gimme" culture. The liberals showed their usual vacuous mind set. This country's well is going to run dry, and the Democrat party will ensure that as many runs to the well are ensured every election. The only way to pay for those freebies is by over taxing the rich into oblivion, and by credit. Either way, this beautiful country is driven into the arms of a Greece-like dilemma. Heaven help us all.

  • Gene Brouillette
    Santa Clause rules

  • threebarrs

Sorry, but for this one I disagree with your assessment. I do believe Mitt Romney is a moderate Republican, and what lost the election and will lose every future election for Republicans are those voters who feel they are "entitled" and want a government large enough to provide everything for them - and particularly as that voting base continues to grow. Once the baby boomrs are dead and gone, this country wil be totally socialist unless people figure out that they are responsible for their own lives and that caring about and for others is not done by "redistribution of wealth". Once those of us in the boomer generation who believe in hard work and striving for a better life are gone, the "entitled" will be hard put to find folks from whom wealth can be redistributed because most everyone will be part of their group. My continued prayer is that our country can make a huge turn-around before we reach that sad place.

  • Breeze13

The GOP nominated the wrong person. We had so many to choose from, and Ron Paul would have beat obama and got the country back on track, but many repubs were scared of Paul because he had ideas that were a bit radical. And that's what our country needed. So, the GOP shot itself in the foot. When you start getting the idea that a third party is the way to go, it will be good for America.

    • blancojoe

Ron Paul would have caused even a greater loss. Look, the freebies given by the Democrats gave the demographics of blacks and Hispanics a big leg up for votes. How do you stop the freebies? I have no idea, except the country goes totally bankrupt and the candy store HAS to close ... but then ... Greece.

  • PMDavis

The biggest reason Obama got re-elected is because people are scared. Things are not getting better, jobs are not being created, and the economy is still tanking. They are looking for a safety net, looking to the government to take care of them and Obama delivered. People are not going to vote for a party that is going to take away the safety net and stuff. Thats why single women are for Obama is for the government assistance they will need when they get pregnant and there is no family or father to help them. This country is lost and until everything falls will anyone listen or see.

  • Gytano

How is it possible for the Government to spend $20,000,000,000,000.00 that we have to pay it back with our hard earned money ?

Thats roughly $100.00 for every single Star in the Milky way Galaxy.

  • Victoria DeLacy

I have been a life long Republican voter these past forty years and it grieves me to have to say that this year the party handed it to Obama on a silver platter through failing to even include every candidate running on every state primary ballot, which prevented good conservatives such as Rick Perry and Rick Santorum from being given the best possible chance to win the nomination and go up against Obama instead of liberal-past candidate Romney. Limbaugh has always said that when you give voters the chance to go for either DNC (in this case Obama) or DNC Lite (in this case Romneycare Mitt), they go for the real thing every time. Shame on our GOP for not fully backing our proven conservatives to begin with - we will NEED to do better next time. lest our party be replaced through the rise of another more willing to champion those principles that made America great!

  • CajunPatriot

I agree with the assessment. We had a liberal candidate instead of a conservative one. Charles Krauthammer thinks the conservative candidates (Marco Rubio, Mike Spence, etc.) are still a couple of years away. The horror of democracy is when a majority of the voters are able to vote taxes on the minority, which is already happening in California and other places. We no longer adhere to what President Kennedy wanted us to do but rather, "What can I get from the government?" What do the rest of us, now the minority, do? We voted against Obama. We would have voted for an animate animal or an inanimate sign, rather than Obama, but what do we do now?

Did we have a candidate who was all over the map? Now we are in for an even stronger assault upon the U.S. Constitution, morality and ethics, and the Word of God. What does God think of this? I cannot believe the Lord is happy with what America just voted for.

Do we just need to pray "Remember mercy in judgment, oh God because it is your goodness (mercy) that leads men to repentance, not judgment!"

  • Gretagarbo123

This is b s Romney was a terrific candidate - Someone capable of fixing the economy. I'm sick of you blow hards who love to cast judgment. We lost because half the country are losers - either women who think birth control is a huge issue when the world is on fire and the country may become Greece; people who want handouts; and people who voted because Obama is black and don't care what he does . Guess what folks, we have to hit rock bottom before some of the stupid people begin to see the light. That is the problem and it may be too late to recover. Even then, they will probably excuse Obama. Morality is at an all time low, when people in the media cover up for the murder of our own citizens in the embassy, and other people think babies who survive abortions should be left to die in a room alone - (yes, Obama voted for this). Countries that lose their moral standards do not survive. I am not the most religious person in the world, but I value human life and it seems that no longer matters. The mainstream media is losing viewers, but I think part of the problem is that many of these shallow people just catch a few soundbites or watch the Today Show or John Stewart for news. There's not much we can do but wait for things to begin to disintegrate.

  • DrBillLemoine

Pure nonsense! It's not handouts or freebies that motivate voters to support Democrats--it's positive, supportive, modern policies. Who can support negatives like voter suppression? Who want to jettison multi-generational supportive programs like social security and medicare? Who wants to eliminate modern policies like expanded voter and civil rights, universal healthcare, college incentive loans. Abetted by stark negatives of republicans like women's vaginal probing, abolishing Planned Parenthood and lack of jobs promotion, Democrats guided voters into the new century, the new millennium. All we middle class people of all ages, ethnicities, genders, incomes, social standings and political leanings want is to level the playing field with incentives to socioeconomic mobility. Until the right understands the world doesn't revolve around their aggression, their wealth, their authoritarianism, their bibles, their family types, they'll continue in the minority party and over time diminish into tiny fragments like CA and NV.

  • willyt

Maybe a million or more conservative evangelicals are cheering that "by not voting, we (real Christians) kept that Mormon from getting in"!

  • Kurt Hahn

GARY MEMARR WRONG Romney and his team did almost all they could and Obama clearly did much better at what he set out to do with Blacks, Hispanics and the Young. Mitt was sucessful with a majority of independents but lost some women because of Santorium's comments during the primaries saying health insurance should not cover birth control pills and later the idioatic comments from Senate candidates in Missouri and Indiana about rape . Even staunchly conservative women lost confidence in the GOP in some cases. We also lost some seniors but letting Obama demogog Ryan's Medicare Voucher iniativive and not re enforcing the widespead residual opposition to rationing of healthcare to seniors under Obamacare from 2010. Other than that Mitt's conservative smaller government less regulations economic message was well delivered and his get out the vote druive well executed.

  • jagans

OK, so what you are saying is that its better for poor women to have more kids that the taxpayer has to support, than to offer them free birth control. Is that correct? Or are you saying that they should have enough sense to cross their legs and avoid unwanted pregnancies? Since we know that the latter will not happen, dosent the former make more sense? I suppose we could neuter all of the dead beat males that impregnate the young girls and hang their scrotum's on a pike, but I dont know if that will go over all that well.

As far as college loans go, why is it that the richest country in the world can spend over 500 billion dollars a year, yes, that is $500,000,000,000.00 a year, MORE THAN THE NEXT 17 COUNTRIES COMBINED, but we cant afford to educate our young people? WHile we are on that subject, why is tuition in a major institution of learning upwards of $50,000.00/year, when they bring in millions upon millions of dollars at the football stadium??? The players dont get paid, remember?

Most people want to work, but they dont want to work for half a day just to fill their gas tanks, or work for a week to afford a pair of sneakers. Why hasent anything been done about the cost of fuel? Why havent our wonderful leaders forced the construction of new nuclear power plants? Oh thats right, its not popular, and all they want to do is get re-elected, not do something positive. No power source generates anywhere near the power that nuclear does for the amount of fuel expended, and it is clean power. To blame all the wrongs in this country on one man is about the dumbest thing I ever heard of. The senate and congress are gridlocked, and do nothing, because getting re-elected is all they care about. Give them one term of 8 years, and thats it. Maybe then they will do something for (All) the people.

and still the GOP isn't opening their eyes. Come on, it isn't all the people on food stamps and yada yada yada. The issue was the GOP thumbs its nose at Christians, true conservatives, and yes those that actually like liberty like Ron Paul Supporters.

Hey just for your information Gary Johnson drew 1% of that 117 million.....and those came from RP supporters....translation 1.7 million. In addition there were various others who voted Virgil Goode and Jill Stein. Frankly, it seems the GOP isn't learning their lesson. It's staring them in the face and they find something else to blame it on instead of themselves.

The RNC showed their true colors in the delegate process and at the convention. is it any wonder when you play like Democrats, that you don't get the full conservative vote, except for the scared conservatives who hold their nose and pull the lever like they did with Romney..........McCAin..........GWB.........Bob Dole? Anyone else seeing a pattern here?

  • fideux

My wife worked at an elementary school in central California that had students from families that for four generations, no one in several of those families, in four generations, had ever worked or had a job. Now, the kids get free breakfasts, lunches, and dinner from the school's cafeteria, as well as a snack before they go home. When I was a kid, if you wanted breakfast, you had better eat before you left for school. If you didnt bring a sack lunch or have lunch money $.40, you went hungry. All too soon, the govt. will be taxing us at nearly 100% and the "candy store" will be empty. What will be the govt's solution then? How many administration tax increases before they have it all?

  • Truggy

One thing your wrong about is the Majority want higher taxes ! Were smart enough to know that it never never works period its a stupid idea ! But yea half of this country are full of total morons .

  • Dave

The Romney/Ryan ticket shoud have won going away if the priorities we need the government to focus on were the prevailing drivers for the voters, but they were not for millions that voted for Obama. It was immigration (Hispanics), race (African Americans), free stuff (those on welfare and food stamps), union support (particularly public service), far left communists and tree hugging environmentalists (global warming), and last but not least, it was women who have this perverted fear that the Republican party somehow hates them and wants to make them suffer (really naive and stupid). Then, you bring into play the fact that over 3 million fewer Republicans voted for Romney then McCain and that erases the margin of the difference in the popular vote. Even some Republicans do not "get it". Our massive economic problems did not carry the day and because it didn't, everyone is going to suffer in some way as the decline of the country continues.

  • james

Mitt lost because the demographics of this country has changed. In order to win you have to get the support of Women, Hispanics, African-Americans and the youth vote. Mitt offered no alternatives to these groups; so they supported Obummer. The message many voters perceived was we are going to take this away and replace it with nothing. Women, especially young women saw Mitt's plan to de-fund Planned Parenthood as an attack on them and their birth control source. Hispanics were not courted at all in fact the message was we are going to do everything we can do to cause Hispanics to self-deport themselves. Young college students know they are going to be in debt after college and want the taxes they pay benefit then directly. White men were Mitts strongest supporters. I also think that all of the birth records controversy back fired because many Americans thought that it was driven by racist conservatives. The bottom line is no Republican will ever win courting a majority of white men. Rush Limbaugh said they need to be more conservative, I totally disagree. Women, Hispanics, African-Americans and the youth vote will never be more conservative. Sad but true.

  • MG

I disagree. I think deep down most Americans would rather work than collect Government money. You don't get rich on food stamps or welfare. As long as Republicans / Conservatives keep insisting on intruding in people's personal lives (yes abortion and gay marriage), we will never draw from an increasingly socially liberal population. We will continue to start national elections with NY,NJ,CT,PA,MA,ME,NH,MD,CA,WA,OR,NM,MN,MI,IL in the bag for the opposition. Wake up! We say we want freedom, let's practice it! Oppose abortion by not getting one. Oppose gay marriage by not marrying a gay person. Who cares who they sleep with? I care who they vote for!

There was supposedly 3 million LESS Republicans that voted in this election than they did in 2008. If that is true, those people who didn't vote can blame themselves. Don't be crying that you lost, because it is YOUR fault for not voting and you will have to suffer for the next 4 years, probably more when Obama gets through with America.

  • jr

The reason why Obama won (and Romney lost) is not because Romney was not conservative enough nor combative enough .Obama won and Romney lost because socialism has finally infected America ,unfortunately, beyond salvation. To his credit,Obama didn't do the fundamental transformation of America all by himself. He happens to be at the right place at the right time.He simply used his slimy rhetoric to make it sound something original.Socialism is the ideology of the simple minded people who can only understand that the government is going to take from the evil rich and give it to the poor.Even a monkey could have won running on that platform.Hugo Chaves ,the closest thing to a primate won initiallyby telling the poor people of Venezuela that he was going to share the profits from the oil with them.To this day, the poor people of Venezuela are still,if not more, poor.Go telling that to the idiots who think Obama is going to pay their mortgage.

Kurt, it is more that that, The people have been used for years and we won't call them out, Our children are being indoctronated in School by Communist, the media beat the drums with negative comments aganist Republicans as racist, and we let them get away with it, they used the communist handbook using Class warfare, we let them, because republicans will not fight them, The media put down Mc Carthy, Hoover as being crazy because they saw the danger, now we see it is taking hold in our government, They are domestic enemies yet we do nothing, Vt have a open Communist in the senate, and over a hundred in the house, yet we do nothing, they have destroyed the family unit, they have tried to destroy christianity with their homosexual agenda, they have almost bred a Godless society, when they remove God they will win, I have studied how they took over Russia, they are doing the same here, the Fabains gave them the blue print, starting with the NAACP,Read Boook towards Soviet Amercia Naked Communist 1958,Dr Fred Schwarz was a warrior, he exposed them at ever turn, yet the people won't listen, Look at todays society, they want the god of government to care for them, mark my word we are almost there, Liberals are useful Idiots just like they were in Russia, They will be done away with when they are no longer needed. The Republican Party Elite are Socialist also, so what do you think is going to change, We will see if the Speaker of the House is one of us or them.

Shut the hell up!!!!! I am sick and tired of reading this crap by all you unintelligent pundits that Romney or a less than conservative candidate or this or that caused our defeat. Go check the electoral maps! In almost every state that went for obama it was the metropolitan/city areas that voted democrat. All the rural areas voted Republican. So, what this tells me is that the libtards and minorities have taken over the big cities and now rule the country. There are several remedies to this problem, primarily SECESSION. But also maybe (sarc) a government regulation requiring the distribution of racial population around a state in all the counties by their percentages of total state population, related to the old school distribution laws.

    • Patriot

You give people freedom and see what you get for your troubles. I think if you don't have skin in the game you shouldn't be allowed to vote. You need to own a home or business or retired or currently serving in the military to qualify.

Of course if those republicans came out and voted in 2008, we'd be sitting in the cat-bird seat.

  • Txblackjack

The Progressive Democrat Majority government plantation is (1) ensuring a lifetime of their being in power and (2) bankrupting this country in the process. They have successfully kept the Republican Party splintered into too many factions to maintain their Despotism. The fact that the Romney/Ryan ticket had 3 million less votes than the McCain/Palin ticket is disheartening. Gary Johnson receiving 1% of the vote and the Paul supporters writing his name in or not voting, and others who would not and did not vote was enough to tip the scales. The People did not lose our House and that is a positive. 30 Republican governors is another positive. States Rights will be a important tool to use against these Despots.

In this election, the 47% simply said to themselves..... "Obama? Or Obama-Lite?" That's a no-brainer. Some Christians would not vote for a Mormon, others would not vote for a moderate, some young (and some not-so-young) thought that legal pot and free birth control were the hot-buttons, and others just figured a Republican was not going to GIVE them anything, so why vote for the bums? Notice none of these reasons bear on fiscal responsibility or the future implications of this Obama victory, not the least of which is that he will likely get to pack the court with two more leftist Justices....

  • djw663

I kept saying that Romney was more left than JFK but that is who the Republican establishment wanted as our candidate more and more it seems as though the brotherhood of government regardless of Party sticks together and the fights staged more like the WWE on TV it's all for our entertainment. Romney is a smart guy, don't get me wrong and I know he would have been better than O but come on, we support the Republican Party and time and again they let us down. The whole of government has moved way to the left and with the weak candidates they have given us the past two elections makes you wonder if they planned it that way? The country is going to H in a hand basket and the GOP has not done enough to help prevent it. I realize that they have a rather large enemy in the Senate but come on the democrat always finds a way to get their word out their maybe it's about time we get some infomercials or some better TV shows with more Conservative morals and ethics something?

  • oldcoyote

I borrowed this.... WAS THIS A ROMANS 1 ELECTION?

So many people are asking what Republicans could have
done different to win the election. Was Mitt Romney the right person to run
against Barack Obama? Should Romney have been more aggressive in his attacks of
    Obama’s record and character?

To be honest, I don’t know of any Republican that could
    have won the election!

Why? Because God gave us the leader we deserve as a
nation for turning away from His ways for unnatural ways. I truly believe that
the 2012 election was a Romans 1 election. Read what Scripture says in verses

“18For the wrath of God is revealed from
heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their
unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19For what can be known about God
is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20For his
invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been
clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have
been made. So they are without excuse. 21For although they knew God,
they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in
their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming
to be wise, they became fools, 23and exchanged the glory of the
immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping

“24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of
their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among
themselves, 25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie
and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed
    forever! Amen.”

“26For this reason God gave them up
to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those
that are contrary to nature; 27and the men likewise gave up natural
relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men
committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty
    for their error.”

“28And since they did not see fit to
acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be
done. 29They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil,
covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit,
maliciousness. They are gossips, 30slanderers, haters of God,
insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to
    parents, 31foolish, faithless, heartless,
ruthless. 32Though they know God’s decree that those who practice
such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who
    practice them.”

Does this not describe America today? Homosexuality has
come out of the closet and taken center stage. Businesses have been extending
benefits to homosexual partners. Laws have been passed to prevent anyone from
discriminating against homosexuals because of their lifestyle. Same-sex
marriages and unions are being legalized in more and more places. And preaching
what the Bible says about homosexuality is now being labeled as a hate

Romans 1 tells us that because our society has embraced
these things, God is turning us over to unnatural lusts. He is giving us, as a
nation, after our own desires. That means God has also given us the leaders we
deserve and at the moment, America doesn’t deserve anything better than Barack

    Jeremiah 5:29 tells us:

“Shall I not punish them for these things, declares the
LORD, and shall I not avenge myself on a nation such as

So where does that leave us as a nation now that Obama
has been re-elected and America turns its face further away from God than ever
before? Isaiah 60:12 holds the answer:

“For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you
shall perish; those nations shall be utterly laid

Yes, this was a Romans 1 election and America is looking
at an Isaiah 60:12 future and it pains me to think of what our children and
grandchildren will be facing when God’s wrath is directed at a nation that has
turned its back on Him and His Word. God help us

All Americans with a genuine conservative backbone should DUMP all affiliations with the deaft dumb and blind GOP Republican Party. We warned them what would happen if they blew this election and the blew it ROYALLY! Time for a "US Constitution Party"!!!

    • CARLjr

I'm telling you - pull the Evangelicals out of the Republican party.

True conservatives can stay - those of you who want to monitor everyone's sex lives and medical procedures/medication - are watering down the message of smaller government.

Don't worry, even communists recognize that without production you have nothing to redistribute, you can't play the funny money game forever (even though the naive dems think so, their not in charge, the closet communists and islamist are). Eventually those industries that are not aligned with the democratic party will be forced into production at low cost with stiff penalties if they try to quit, keeping them just afloat financially but with restrictions on how they conduct business.
Union and dem afiliated industries will enjoy a better deal but even they will eventually see a decline in pay benefits and profits. Soon the economy will be dependant on the police state to enforce labor acts and force those not wanting to comply to work. You will see people under guard working in the streets and manual labor projects, you will see restricted transportation rules, curfews, and a massive increase in a federal police force......ahh, wait a second, we are already seeing some of this! Welcome to statist Amerika.

    • Shears_of_Atropos

Keep in mind that in the USSR one needed a travel permit to move from place to place, which prohibited massive immigration and people's moving away from their assigned residence/jurisdiction. You're right about prouction: as one Soviet said "They pretend to pay us; we pretend to work!"

No Mitt did not lose. He may not be our President but I admire him much more than O anyday. Mitt will continue to have a prosperous and happy life, The country lost. But the cause of this is the liberal media and the people who want more free stuff. America is lost.
I wish all the conservative states would secede from the union and I would pack up and move so fast it would make their head spin.

    • CrustyOldGeezer

Mitts problem was his history of 'moderate to left leaning' politics.

The 'republican' elitists told everybody "We don't care what you want, this is about what we want. And if you don't like it, then stay home".

      So they did.

The GOP did not give Obama and the socialists anything They stole it fair and aquare. Now their solution to Obama's economic disaster which is about to go over a cliff is tantamont to pushing the acceleratorr all the way to the floor. But then the total destruction of our economy was the plan to start with.

  • John W.

Free stuff is a powerful motivator, for sure; if you rob David to pay Sam, you can probably count on Sam's vote forevermore (or until the money runs out). However, there's another big reason the GOP lost-one which nobody seems to want to discuss. After all, the Dems are the party of corruption, vote tampering, and so on, right? Well, how about the shabby spectacle presented by the RNC in Tampa in August-you know, the early morning meeting of the Rules Committee (chaired by John Sununu) to change, at the last minute, the 5-state nomination requirement to 8, in order to disenfranchise the grass-roots "liberty" wing? You know, the one where the Virginia delegation, which had quite a few Ron Paul supporters, was "kidnapped" by the bus driver as they tried to get to the Rules Committee meeting? (the driver drove around and around the Convention Center and refused to stop to let them off until the meeting was effectively over)? How about the refusal of the podium to repeat Paul's name during the candidate vote count? How about John Boehner's "voice vote" on adopting the new "rules," which ensured that never again would the grass roots have any say in the picking of a candidate? Like him or not, Congressman Dr. Paul attracted huge numbers of young people to the GOP (more than were drawn to Obama, by the way), and a surprising number of minorities, who NO OTHER REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE has been able to attract. The RNC effectively told all of these people to go to hell-we don't need you....Well, guess what-they do need them. I think it's worth betting folding money on the likelihood that not one of these people voted for Romney, after that kind of a show. They voted for Gary Johnson (who got exactly one million votes) or wrote in Dr. Paul, or voted for someone else, or were among the 13 million who stayed home on Tuesday. I'll wager that had the GOP played by the rules (the ones in existence before the convention), Romney would have likely cinched the nomination anyway-and a lot of the aforementioned people would have voted for him, arguably putting him over the top. Not (in my opinion) that it would have made that fundamental a difference in the nation's course, but it would have put the GOP back in the driver's seat, for those who think that the President having an R after his name is the most important thing in this election.

  • bugmac

This article hit the mark. And it could go one to say Obama won because he bought more votes with taxpayer's money through bail outs and freebies while getting yet pass after pass from the media on Fast & Furious and the lie and cover-up of the Benghazi TERRORISTS Attack. And not to say anything about his arms running into Lybia that aided in the terrorist attack. He has a great record of supporting the wrong side - and going against our allies as he did in both Egypt and Lybia as he supported the radical terrorist linked group, the Islamic Brotherhood. The media has done nothing to alert voters and continues to do so and obviously will until Obama sells us to Russia or China.

  • bugmac

We have to ask the question, did Mitt Romney really loose or was it stolen by fraud? How many dead people voted? How many people voted twice? Did Mickey Mouse vote in every county of Florida again? Were the votes counted correctly? After all, George Soros owns the company that sold most of the software that counted votes - wouldn't it be possible to slip in the programing code a function that made every 5th vote for Romney would be counted for Obama? Or, rig a 10th of the machines where they default to vote for Obama? We hear hundreds of reports of this from NC, Ohio, and Colorado. Interesting enough, after all the noise, we see one isolated incident making the headline news in Pennsylvannia that one time a machine defaulted for Romney. They had to do it to make it seem as a bug. Sounds fishy to me....No paper backup in most states so there is no audit trail. Right niow only those folks working for Obama and Soros know the truth (and GOD - goes without saying).

To get a real conservative nominee, we need to change the primary process. Why in HELL's name do two bit states like Iowa and New Hampshire get to start ( or even be in) the
Look at the map and start the Republican Primary in states that have many more Republican voters and more electoral college votes and let them have the first say in who they want to nominate. Then you wouldn't have liberal/ultra rich moderates win the nomination. Also, Never have Christi set foot in the Republican Convention again.

  • Rocky Frisco

We lost because the Republican National Party showed nothing but contempt toward Ron Paul during the State and National Conventions. If they had followed their own rules, Romney still would have probably won the nomination, but the libertarian portion of the party would not have voted for Gary Johnson.

What's sad is that the Catholic Church stands for everything that Obama doesn't and yet millions of Catholics voted for him. I'm sure most of the Catholics who go to Church every week didn't vote for him. But I know of people who go to Church weekly who are liberal and most likely voted for Obama.
We need to get this country back, I love America. But in the 60 years I lived, I've notice a change. This country doesn't resemble the one I grew up in back in the 60's. It will take all our effort to defeat liberalism. It's not going to be easy, but it can be done.

Mitt Romney won by a landslide, and Obama lost the election! RNC need to get off their lazy ass and demand a recount! Romney got fewer votes than McCain's down year of 2008. Obama got fewer votes than McCain got in 2008, also. Even a normal Republic turnout would have meant a Romney landslide and -- likley more Senators and Representatives. While it seemed that conservative motivation was high leading up to the election, something kept them home by the millions. Why? I would not have believed it, but did millions of fools not vote because Romney is a Mormon? Neither am I. I think it is a false religion. We were voting for an alternative to Obama as President, however, not as Pope or pastor-in-chief. Who can doubt that Romney would be an infinitely better President than the societal and economic wreckingball that is Obama?

  • Jayne Nielsen

It's amazing the more free stuff given to do-nothings such as the OWS bums and illegals, the more of OUR freedoms are being stripped away by the liberal agenda. When our Founding Fathers said this was the "Land of the Free" I seriously doubt they were talking about a free ride.
In all seriousness, it's a shame to see the way this country is unraveling at the seams and what's even more tragic is the thought of the Supreme Court Justices that will be appointed within the next four years.
If we thought Ginsberg or Sodermayer were Liberal, they will pale in comparison to the next two Justice appointees.

  • Luci Tomlin

Why are we crying? Because we KNOW it is our fault! We choose Representatives who get to Washington and become diluted, absorbed, and/or scared into following the path CHOSEN for them by the VELCROES in our Government! You either play it THEIR way, or you are out! Like a porcupine in a balloon factory, all it takes is just one, well-aimed, puncture, and they are sent "backwards" at an alarming rate! We NEED to realize that our Nation has changed the "minority" position! We either embrace the diversity, learn to work together, or forever be in contention the rest of our lives! It takes time, effort, honest and moral Representatives! To be able to differentiate between "weeds" that pop up on their own, uncontrolled, and the potential "wheat" that can/will feed a multitude! "Weeds" sucking the life out of their neighbors, or encourage and motivate the "wheat" to produce a bountiful harvest that will benefit everyone! We need to CLEAR a lot of "under-brush" to get to the fertile ground! SO far in this Administration and in our Government, there's no sign of anyone willing to! Republicans NOR Democrats have made any attempt to "compromise"! NOW that the election madcap, intrusive, vitriolic, sleezy, under-handed, tactics have wasted our time and BILLIONS, will we see "mutual effort" from both sides, or will Harry/Kari Reid demand "capitulation" from Republicans instead of HIM deciding to "compromise"?

yep Obama bought the election by offering more and more free stuff. that will be the down fall of our republic as it has been the down fall of every democracy. As people become more and more dependent and indolent or self indulgent and want others to give them what they earned instead of earning it themselves the country will decline unless there is a change of understanding and pride by the people.

  • Shane

Obama got the women's vote by giving them free birth control, and he got the Hispanic vote by giving young illegal aliens an amnesty. I guess the GOP should give women free condoms and vibrators to get their vote, and maybe support a limited amnesty for qualified illegals.

No, no ....No. If the Republicans don't stick to their guns of Conservatism, then we might as well join the Democratic Party. I for one will not give an inch when it comes to my ways of preferring good values, morals, self responsiblity and dignity. The only good change is when one becomes older and wiser, because, " you don't get old by being a fool". We lost because the idiot Republicans, such as Carl Rove, forced Romney on us. In the debates, Romney said he would keep parts of obamacare. Conservatives didn't want another liberal RINO, and many either stayed home or voted for one of the two wackos, Paul and Johnson.

I don't buy it. I don't believe a president with so much wrong with him and such a bad record could win. They say we fell 13 million voters short than in 2008, but there was a record amount of absentee and early voters. People were waiting for hours to vote early and on election day. I know quite a few.. including myself. Nuff said.

Obama could have run with Cuba's Castro and won! Why? Because Blame-mode obama already had over 160 electoral votes even before the election. Do the math. Progressive/Liberal states like New York, Jersey, California were already in the Socialists pocket plus, as Romney admitted, 47% of Americans who pay no taxes were dems.( choice free stuff or work) plus, where were Republicans like Mitch, Boehner, Jeb Bush, just to name a few. If you saw them 2-3 times during campaign it was a lot. Lets' not forget Chris Christie going overboard praising Obama even before anything was done for the people after hurricane sandy. Obama must have promised Christie a truck-load of twinkies' for that bull-crap because Obamas' fema didn't do a thing for victims of storm. He used the fat guy for a photo op, left, and reaped the harvest with the votes Christie gave him. The people will get what they wanted, higher gas and grocery prices, higher medical costs, unemployment, a fed-up business sector who will pick up their marbles and invest overseas leaving more people unemployed. The freebie population will outsmart itself!

I am sick and tired of Republicans blaming George Bush for the state of affairs in our nation. Only simple-minded Republicans do that You have only to remember the first six years of the Bush Administration when all who wanted to work could. Small businesses were thriving.. If Republicans had supported him, all immigrants would have had an ID card. Today, we would know who is here and who has no right to be. George Bush tried to find a solution to the failing social security system. Republicans did not support him. Now, a similar program will be offered by Obama and already, we see Boehner ready to support him. Republicans do not support one another. It is no wonder that they often lose elections unnecessarily. We had a popular potential leader in Sarah Palin. Carl Rove destroyed her career and helping him was Barbara Bush who on television shamelessly told Sarah to go back to Alaska and stay there. Forgive her, she is an OLD woman. But then, in spite of what Rove did to Sarah, she joined rove in destroying Todd Akin of Missouri. Democrats would not turn agaist their own. We deserve what we get.

Even people who disagree with the left don't seem to grasp the horror that will happen through Obamacare. What do we DO NOW. I am depressed, but will not surrender, even if I die trying. The "job" of the GOP was to lose to Obama by the slimmest of margins, a prediction I made months ago. Even though the electoral margin seemed large, the popular vote was slim as were the swing state margins. The two parties are playing for the same team (statists) and are now even more free to build their dictatorship.

The people of this country have changed in many ways in the years since ww2. We have the two parties loaded with folks that think only oc themselves. Our elected people care nothigg for those that put them in their high place. There are some that will try to do right. The others are scratch my back and I will yours. I don't think the republicans know a good man to run from a hole in the ground. They picked McCain in 2008 and he was a dud from word go. 3. Obama had the paracites of society in the bag because he promised free cell phones, birth control and continued " Entitlements ". All Romney offered was the truth.

Getting something for "free" will always be enticing. We've all gotten junk mail promising us "free" stuff, then you read the fine print. They charge you for the rest of your life an amount well beyond the value of the so called "free" item. When will we learn!!! I worked for a company with a bargaining unit so strong that every time they went to the bargaining table the bargaining unit never lost a single benefit and came away with more. After 25 years of this lopsided bargaining, the company finally left town and settled in at a non-union state. It seems to me this type of thinking is like killing the golden goose. They leave nothing for for future generations. And of course our children and their children suffer as a result. That's where were headed with this something for nothing attitude!

I'd like to know how many of those votes were fraudulent! How many machines were programmed opposites and how many never noticed--how many graveyard votes, howmany multiple votes, and how many illegals---I for one do not believe the accuracy of those results.
Added, of course, to the gimmes who will vote to keep getting handouts--now on the 3rd and 4th generations of the same families--it's easier to keep having babies and letting the state take care of you than to put in an honest days work. Yes, there are those genuinely in need--but there are far too many with excuses who won't take a job if available. Obama is taking away the individual persons pride and sense of accomplishment by his policies.
And jobs--reign in the ridiculous restrictions of the EPA and we would have plenty of them--and new enterprises in the wings as well. This is a leader intent on destroying this country.

Kurt hit the nail on the head, as Rush did earlier this week: It was Christmas time and Santa Claus won the election.

Gary DeMar missed why Romney lost. Romney was Conservative as much as any who vied for the GOP nomination.

Santorum and Gingrich were RINO frauds posturing as Conservatives, but their records proved otherwise despite Santorum trying to repackage himself.

Ron Paul masqueraded as "a strict constitutionalist," while being "pick 'n choose" about what of the Constitution he chose to uphold [surely NOT the Constitution's basic tenet of domestic national defense when it came to the illegal alien invasion or Islamic encroachment].

Gary Johnson was even worse. Almost as bad as Obama on immigration [rated an F to Obama's F minus by NumbersUSA], and Johnson advocated leftwing "politically correct" activism. Such as trying to allow homosexual to change the heterosexual definition of marriage handed down to us by our ancestors.

Go to Johnson's website and you will see that he supports the sham of "same-sex marriage." But marriage is defined as between a man and a woman. So it is patently impossible for a man to marry another man.

Bottomline: a homosexual man has THE EXACT SAME RIGHT under the Constitution as does a heterosexual man to marry a woman. And the fact that he does not wish to avail himself of that right, though it be his prerogative, does not not constitutionally create for him another right; namely: to change the heterosexual definition of marriage.

But idiot Libertarians backed a fraud leftwinger who doesn't respect the Constitution, while carping about Romney who was truly more Conservative than Johnson.

Romney lost because he was too namby-pamby towards Obama. He should have played hardball with the dog-eatin' Kenyan by, when Obama demanded his tax returns, demanding from Obama a genuine birth certificate while also calling for an independent investigation and DEPORTATION hearing for Obama [since a non-U.S. citizen is NOT entitled to impeachment proceedings].

And while Romney was scheduling the deportation hearing, by twisting RINO Boehner's arm to arrange it [as the House could have done (for the Senate has exclusivity only when it comes to impeachment proceedings)], Romney should have fired one salvo after another about the many egregious acts by Obama THAT ROMNEY DIDN'T EVEN BRING UP:

Like how Obama unconstitutionally gave out over a million work permits to illegal aliens, despite over 23 million of our own citizens out-of-work, and also has been unconstitutionally giving them amnesty for a mere $465 processing fee.

And Romney should have countered Obama's criticizing of Romney on abortion by exposing the fact that Obama is so extremist that he even defended killing NEWBORN babies who survived abortions!

Also Romney should have called for answers on Benghazi, "Fast & Furious," Solyndra, etc., etc. Romney has a veritable smorgasbord of "entrees" he could have assailed Obama upon, but all he did was nibble like a fat woman on a diet.

Well to all the free stuff voters out there.......I say just wait because YOU WILL GET YOURS and very soon. Just wait until the National Sales Tax goes into effect or a value added tax. Either of these will devastate the welfare crowd both of them together will drown them.

All you welfare queens thinking that after Nov. 6 you'll be able to but that new 72" big screen you better get it now because if either of the two taxes I mentioned kicks in you'll never see it (the TV). Basically I'm hoping they slap you bit ches with both taxes at the same time!!!

The real question is, 'What would the voter count have been if we had a true conservative on the ballot?'. Gingrich, IMHO would have routed this imbecile who just bought/stole his 2nd term.
