Let’s All Sail on the 'Ted Cruz' Ship from Texas

This is what Republicans should be. Take a long look at the freshman senator from Texas — Ted Cruz. He’s giving the Democrats and RINOs a dose of what it means to go to Washington and do what you said you would do when you asked people to vote for you.

Cruz took an oath to govern in terms of the Constitution.

Here’s what he said in an email interview after coming down with a case of laryngitis he most likely got from taking on the Democrats:

“I made promises to the people of Texas that I would come to Washington to shake up the status quo. That is what I intend to do, and it is what I have done in every way possible in the responsibilities that have been granted to me.”

The Senate has become a gentleman’s club with most Republicans serving meals and drinks to the Democrats hoping for a few tips at the end of the day. All they get is the back of their political hand.

Sen. Cruz opposed Chuck Hagel, a former Republican Senator, for the Secretary of Defense position. He took on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel when he “wrote to the chiefs of big banks urging them not to invest in gun manufacturers.” Cruz accused the mayor of his crime-ridden city of “bullying.”

Cruz had words with Charley Rangel, the Senate’s third-ranking Democrat, on live television. The Texas Senator “voted against virtually everything before him — including the confirmation of John Kerry as secretary of state — and raised the hackles of colleagues from both parties.”

What if we had 40 Republicans like Cruz? Now that’s a party American conservatives could get behind.

Maybe Sen. Cruz will light the way for mealy mouthed, once-thought-to-be conservatives to come back to the fold.

“The last thing we need is another status quo senator or congressman who will go along to get along,” said former Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina, who pumped money into Mr. Cruz’s campaign, then left the Senate to lead the conservative Heritage Foundation.

All the Democrats could do was to accuse the senator of the dreaded “M” word — “McCarthyism.”

When a Democrat gets attacked on the facts or principles, they resort to name calling. Fortunately, most low-information voters don’t know much if anything about Joseph McCarthyism. They might actually think that he’s a big fan of Paul McCartney of Beatles fame.

The above quotations were take from The New York Times (February 15, 2013).

  • Jude O'Connor

I've seen these politicians before like a bull in a china shop, at first, then the fraternal brothers get to them and make it very plain to play ball or else they would be isolated and get nothing from the frat brothers. There's no such thing as a one man army or a one man political giant. There are 535 we elect and they in turn appoint thousands of staff to do the grunt work that they can take credit for, my source, Google (number of staff for congress).

    • Screeminmeeme

Jude O'Connor....Isn't that the truth. I hope you're wrong about Cruz, tho, so we'll have to wait and see how long it takes him to cave to the peer pressure.

      • James White, M.D.

At your sides, is this old doctor, Meeme and Patriot. Let us please, God, observe one man with principles that endure the corruption that is Washington.

        • patriotusa2

          Amen!

        • don

          amen

    • patriotusa2

I hope you're wrong about Cruz, too, as so far he appears to be a straight shooter. Although, unfortunately, your words have rung true in more cases than not.

    • cincinnatius

I sincerely hope you're wrong, tho I suspect you'll be mostly right as the "club" in DC is very, very protective of the deal they've got going. That said, I remember that even God was willing to change his judgement if there was one righteous man. Perhaps Cruz will be this "one righteous man" that swings the balance of the scales in Washington. I will pray so.

    • Don39

I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now. There once was a Sen. named Jim DeMint that seemed to have held out pretty well, in fact he improved with age! And there are a few others that seldom waiver despite the cesspool called Washington DC. Although for what ever reason, I must admit that not one raised a hand to stop the fraud that is Obama!

    • USMC and America proud

What WE have to do, is REMEMBER!!! Remember if the "frat-brothers" want to cut him off, VOTE THEM OUT AND LET THEM KNOW IT'S COMING!!! REMEMBER that if its one of our electees, to email, snail mail, Facebook, tweet, and by any other means necessary, let them feel our displeasure! And if they STILL want to ignore us? Force 'em out!! Impeach!! The more we pressure, the more they will either pay attention to the fact that THEY WORK FOR US and we can, and WILL recall them!
It's time for us "We the people's" to start cleaning Washington out! Starting with those that are supposed to be listening to US that voted them in!
We need to start with the second amendment! Either ALL of our elected refuse to go along with Obama's trying to usurp our constitution, or else as a collective population of red blooded Americans, start impeachment proceeding on those that cow tow to get along! Once these "lifetime politicians" feel they are going to lose their jobs, understand that we won't put up with the socialist garbage, maybe they'll get a set, and do their jobs!!!

mjritter, I have no idea if your ignorance comes from unwillingness to actually learn or outright stupidity. Ted Cruz was elected to represent the people of his district. Not go to Washington DC to kiss the democrats a$$. Sen. Cruz has been one of the very few to actually take a stand against bully political rule.

      • James Maxwell

From your statement it is clear that your are one of the flamming liberals who

Slapnutz demoncrat talkin smack, got no idea who he's talkin about bein a clown. Lol washington is nothing more than a sideshow circus where almost everybody is a clown. Every now & then u might get a glimpse of the bearded lady, or pelosi or hillary as they call em, but most are just clowns. Refreshing to see a serious man like Cruz shakin up the political establishment. There are a few others like allen west & jeff sessions... they got guts, class & they follow through on what they say. Those are the type of guys I would want on my team, not a buncha wussy anti American pantywastes like those u support. No class, no brains & no ba11s... u don't love America the way we do, the way its supposed to be, then leave, nobody makin u stay lol cuz we sure as he11 don't wantcha

Junior suffers from the disease called Liberalism; what more needs to be known, he is a plebe, a peon, and sadly irrelevant until voting, then, he gets an Obozo phone for Goosestepping to the Order..arf arf.

      • jwright673

Not sure I follow your post. First you say Ted is just showing what is wrong with Washington (Which he certainly is), then you call him a clown. Maybe you should read up on Texas before you call them comic book characters, starting with economic growth, something that has been sadly missing everywhere but Texas since your hero maobama took office. Still waiting on a budget from them by the way..

      • Jed54

You live in Chicago? Move there if you do not.. You'd fit right in...

        • 7papa7

Don't insult Illinois, he should probably move to Cuba, N. Korea, Iran or some similar country. He is in complete agreement with their political stands.

        • Krazeehors

True. There's nothing wrong with Illinois except Chicago; unless you recognize that this state is controlled by unions and that almost everyone votes democratic.

When i lived there, the FIRST thing I was told was "don't vote in the primaries. You have to tell them what your party is, and if you vote Republican you will NEVER get a State job."

The second was "if you talk bad about the unions, you have a good chance of waking up deadd."

YOU DON'T HAVE THE COJONES TO GO INTO TEXAS AND MAKE THAT STATEMENT TO A REAL MAN. YOU ARE ONE OF obama's BATH BOYS. I'M IN FLORIDA, BUT WAS STATION IN TEXAS WITH THE US ARMY THREE TIMES. SO MY CONNECTION IS ALSO THERE. SON BORN THERE.

        • Krazeehors

Yep. I was also stationed here TWICE while in the military, and my son was also born here -- at Wilford Hall while I was a single mom. I stayed after leaving the military in '87 and would never have left in '91 but allowed my ex-husband to drag me to So. Illinois. Took me 17 years to make it back home, and I'll never leave it again.

      • Krazeehors

WHAT??? Have you ever BEEN to Texas? Probably not, because you would have been in favor of Ozzie Osbourne pizzzing on the doors of the Alamo and excusing it because he was "high." I was living in San Antonio when that happened, and Mr. Osbourne was lucky he got out of Texas alive.

You know NOTHING of either American history OR Texas history. Some of America's greatest heroes died at the Alamo!! I am now back home in Texas and could not be more proud to call myself an American first, a transplanted Texan second, and a proud veteran and patriot third who puts G0d first in ALL THINGS!!

        Moron.

      • http://twitter.com/feisty819 Jeanie

You don't know a thing about Texas.....Why are so many people and businesses moving here smart one! Texas has got it together and you Dems can't stand us but, we don't care. We just keep grinning and carry one.
Don't Mess With Texas Son....got it????

    • 7papa7

Remind anybody of Reagan. A man of conviction who believes in the Constitution and will uphold and defend it like he swore to do. Sixty senators, veto proof, like him and our country would return to its greatness instead of being flushed down the commode like it is under Mr. Marxist. Cruz for president.

      • Chuck

iHe was born in Canada, his father is Cuban. Therefore, he is not eligible to become President. Unlike Obama, he has never lied about his citizenship. Being a Harvard lawyer, he knows the requirements to hold the office of President.

Article II, Section I, Constituition of the U.S

        • bigD

Whats up chuck, why don't you stop worrying so much about Sen. Cruz and write Obama and remind him why he should resign for violating article II section I of the constitution and see how far you get?

        • Chuck

Why didn't you vote against Obama rather than staying home? How do you think you can defeat Obama by NOT voting?

    • BlueSpud

Should someone tell ritter, he's a bit obvious and his village wants him back?

    • DrSique

AMEN!!!! I don't live in Texas but I still may go knock on doors when it comes time for the Congressmans' reelection.

  • JungleCogs

Too bad Cruz can't run for President. He is just what we need.

    • earlwatters

      dang get another picture please

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ed-Scott/100002103340101 Ed Scott

Ted Cruz was born to an American Mother. If you use the Democrats own words when they insist that Obama is an American citizen, then Ted Cruz has as much right to run for President, and more than obama ever did.

      • slickzip

        AMEN !!!!!!!!!!

      • dean29685

Just because it has been done does not make it legal or right I hope Cruz has more class that that.

        • bigD

Class or no class, no matter what their status, If I had to choose one or the other I would choose an America lover like Cruz over an America hater like Obama any day!!! Whose side are you on dean?

        • http://www.facebook.com/gene.r.swank Gene R Swank

We must enforce the Constitution and our laws equally. If you are not a Natural born citizen then by law you can not be President or vice president. We have a fraud in the white house and our congress and senate dont have the balls to remove him!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Chuck

Correct, but only the Senate has the power to remove a President after being Impeached by the House and tried and found guility in the Senate. Since the Democrats control the Senate, he will never be removed from office.

        • dean29685

The side of the constitution and the law obama has made a mockery of both we do not need to imitate obama period.

        • bigD

ok dean, lets play elementary school softball while the Democrats play major league hardball! The way it is now and the way you seem to want it to continue is leading straight to eternal democrat power in this country. You insist we play in an arena in which our side is the only side that is required to follow the rules. it sounds to me as if you don't like winning.

        • dean29685

If you want to violate the constitution the have a drive and amend it otherwise follow it. Your attitude is sophomoric at the least ignorant at best.

        • bigD

That sounds like a good leftist to me. You sound like one of Saul's best students calling me names to get me to back off. Why do you attack me I am not a politician I am only pointing out that the game is rigged. Both sides should follow the rules but you seem content with this country's turn to the hard left! Calling me a juvenile ignoramus is nothing but an attempt to shut me up ; that's not going to happen. You, only being concerned with possible future perceived infractions by a Republican that haven't even happened yet have no concern for a dozen or so blatant violations of the constitution by Obama and his defenders ignoring or even justifying them. I smell a rat!

        • dean29685

Do you not understand or are you playing stupid. once again the current occupant of the white house is there in violation of the constitution. All
I am saying is it is not ANYONE'S right to do what he has done.

So if you disagree fine but do not get all moral on me if you want a none

qualified person to run fine I will never vote for any such. I have posted time and again that obama needs to be removed from office tried for treason and sent to prison along with all his supporters in the government.

        • bigD

Yes, you have proved that you are a genius and I am a moron. I just hope that you realize that no one is EVER!! going to listen to your call for Obama's removal. We are both on the same page in that regard, but he is the second coming of Christ to 51% of the voters and no one with the authority to impeach him has the gonads to do it and if you don't realize that fact by now then you are living in a fantasy world. On top of that even if he were impeached the possibility of him being convicted in the Senate is ZERO! Sometimes the only choice a person has is the lesser of two evils. That is the dilemma we all may face in the future, especially considering the fact that a bill to repeal the 22nd amendment has been introduced and the possibility of Obama being eligible for a lifetime of terms in office may become reality. Even you may be forced to hold your nose and vote for Cruz or another candidate you don't like to stop Americas' transition from freedom to dictatorship unless that's what you really want. The choice is yours to make but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.

        • dean29685

OK have it your way but one obama won by 51% of those who bothered to vote which equates to 30 percent of those who could have voted. Voting for the lesser of two evils has gotten us exactly were we are today I have done that for the last 4 elections and see no hope far any change. I fought for my country and will again if I have to but seeing the things going on I have over the last 8 plus years change my priority's from God and country to God, Family (including church family) and then country as with out the first two the third is meaningless.

        • bigD

Agreed. life itself is meaningless without God and family, I will do everything in my power to stop a dictatorship from taking over this country. It would break my heart if worshiping God Were made illegal in America but that is one of the main goals of the hard left. I'm sure that is something you would do almost anything to stop. I refuse to let Obama and the hard left use the constitution against me like a weapon in a war. The sad fact is they have successfully changed the rules.I am not going to let the splinter in Ted Cruz;s eye stop me from seeing the beam in Obama's eye. I see no evidence to show Cruz has dictatorial ambitions. Obama's goals are painfully obvious. It's your life ,do as you must. I'll do the same.

        • http://www.facebook.com/felipe.burgos.355 Felipe Burgos

I am with you on this one. However, I will take the floor to expand my agenda. Lets write to Mr Cruz so he can start some proceedings about impeaching the nutcase in the WH. If enough people (we) put the fear to all the rinos and idiots up there, something has to happen. Unless they risk having another civil war. Using my freedom of speech. Those who do not like it can go and commit intercourse with themselves.

      • Krazeehors

Yes. And SO does Marco Rubio.

      • Krazeehors

And, I believe that Cruz denounced his Canadian citizenship; and his status as a British subject before he ran for office.

      • Chuck

        His father is Cuban.

    • mjritter

He couldn't get elected dog catcher in most states. And if he could have run for president, he'd be lucky to get 30% of the vote. It's only the unAmericans and lunatics that would vote for this person

However, we have a constitutional right to vote and people like you has some much class to call others unAmericans & lunatics for exercising our rights. The class you have is all low. Haven't you been paying attention. there isn't one article or amendment in our founding document that they feel obligated to obey! to them it is just a list of suggestions they can ignore if it is a roadblock in their quest for power.

        • Jamieos

No - I am saying he is not natural born because he is not natural born, and I am conservative since my first vote 60 years ago, as were all my people back to my grandfathers. I am also a Tea Partier, as are my 3 children and their spouses. Ted Cruz is a fine man but he can only be a Senator or a Governor. Pushing him for president is like spitting on the Constitution!

People have also forgotten that he is a Tea Party favorite along with all those that now are changing the face of the Republican Party. In the future we insure that more are either elected or get the RINO's out. Many of them are no better than Harry Reid or Pelosi. Cruz, Rand and here in Michigan Amash all are carrying on the truth. Those of the Republican Party who have been in for years must either change to what the party really stands for or be removed

      • Chuck

Three million fewer Republicans voted for Romney in November than voted for McCain in '08. How do you win, if you don't vpte?

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NLORN6B3ZNGCAJTFHWWFUUEY4Q jong

It goes back to my premise. These people and not Romney are what the Republican Party must go back to . No one was excited over Romeny and Romney care was a big part of that. Look at McCain and when a Tea Party person (Palin) was injected into the mix his numbers went up and over those of Obama. It was not until the slanderous attacks against her and the refusal of the media to tell the whole truth that he lost.

        • http://www.facebook.com/wesley.williams.100 Wesley Williams

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NLORN6B3ZNGCAJTFHWWFUUEY4Q jong

Hardly read them both and compared them. Romney should have never run for just that alone. You could not separate them and Obama counted on that. And Romney did nothing to confront this.

        • Chuck

Sorry, Jong, you claim to be a smart guy, but there is no going back. The demographics have changed dramatically. As much as we all may dislike that fact, the the country is no longer a free constitutional Republic. We have a dishonest President of questionable origins and 60 million voters just reelected him for another 4 years, unfortunately. He invents 'laws' through Executive Orders and there is nothing more than mild whining from the taxpayers. The only laws and rules he has not broken are those he never heard of.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NLORN6B3ZNGCAJTFHWWFUUEY4Q jong

There was really never a point to go back to. Hispanics are a family oriented people that have not yet completely swallowed the poison apple of food stamps and generational welfare. The problem is the lies. Lies of course can not stand the test of time. When the money runs out the people in some areas are sure to riot having done nothing except the Uncle Sugar hand out. And take heart he won by only the skin of his teeth and probably cheated in areas like Fl, PA, OH, and others. As I stated the truth can stand the test of time Obama will not.

Doesn't matter where he as born if his father or his mother was an American citizen WHEN he was born.

        • Chuck

Not according to Article II, Section I, of the Constitution.... "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President ..." By virtue of the fact that his mother was a U.S. citizen when he was born in Canada, he is a citizen, but he is not a 'natural born citizen'. Cruz, unlike Obama, has never claimed otherwise. They are both graduates of Harvard Law School, so they both know this requirement and Obama has spent millions of dollars trying to make himself 'natural born'.

        • Made_in_the_USA

Get over yourself. He's only a senator. And an exceptional one at that!! At least we know a little about him, where he was born, who his real father is, what's on his passport and college records, and that he is an American first, politician second. Besides, Cruz earned his degree, it wasn't honorary. No matter how much obama spends, he'll still never be natural born according to the US Constitution. And when did he declare his candidacy for prez?

        • Chuck

Yeah, he has been a Senator for just over a month and he has p'oed the entire Senate. Great start! He will never get the necessary to support to pass any bill for the benefit of his constituents, unless he learns how to behave and use the power of persuasion.

        • LonMike

I have heard it said in the post election era that there was not of enthusiasm for the Republican candidate. I was one of those who voted for Romney, but I had to hold my nose to do it. I for one am very tired of hearing rich millionaires/billionaires telling me how much they care for the middle and lower class. I had a hard time with Romney telling me that Obamacare was bad, but Romneycare was good. And the last are was religion. The choices were to vote for a Mormon or a Muslim. I voted for Romney because he was the lesser of two evils. But I did not have a lot of enthusiam! Why do Republican keep running these middle of the road, moderate, candidates. (BTW, I don't believe in that. These candidates are nothing more than Democrat lite.) Lets run a real conservative or even a libertarian next time around. And the Republicans should embrace and endorse the Tea Party.

        • Krazeehors

Absolutely. I also voted for Romney for the same reason, and also because you would have to cut my hand off and carry it to the polls to vote Democratic, especially for a waste of human flesh like Obama.

I think Herman Cain could have won had the Dems NOT worked (and Romney as well) DILIGENTLY to destroy him.

I was absolutely furious about what Romney did to Gingrich in Florida -- the man is a loyal Republican and is head and shoulders above Romney in his knowledge of history and government. I believe Gingrich is a patriot who would have issued and fought for a "blanket repeal" of each and every piece of legislation Obama was responsible for or signed.

Finally, people make a big deal out of one's "marital difficulties," such as Gingrich's infidelity, Cain's issues, etc., but if you people would take the time to READ:
          "In the President's Secret Service,"
you would finally LEARN just how IM-PERFECT our past POTUS's have been, and particularly our DEMOCRATIC chief executives.
          My point:
Nobody is perfect. When people are presented with great power, their true selves emerge, be it morally, honesty, ethics, dignity, etc. Give up on the "he cheated on his wife so I won't vote for him," or "he divorced his wife, so I won't vote for him," etc. LEARN how these people really ACT from those who are CLOSEST to them!!!

        • sandman

It is not the party that puts these guys out to run, and who in there right mind would subject themselves and their families to the media wolves? that is the biggest problem there is!

Except you are wrong. The party DOES hand pick people it wants to run and then they do everything to destroy the little guys who oppose the party picks. That's why you saw Romney as the nominee. He was promised that a long time ago.

        • sandman

I am not wrong, the person themselves have to put their nose in the tent first, than the party sees all the noses, and then, and only then do they have any say in the mater, and I still stand by what I said about the media, and the part about who in their right mind would put themselves and their families under all that the media will do to drag them into the gutter!

        • Chuck

The Tea Party is not a political party. The republican Party has been around for over 100 years. If the TP zealots don't like the Republican Party, they should form their own party and quit riding on the backs of Reublicans. No TP "conservative" could gather 50 million plus votes to defeat Hillary. The liberals will control the WH for the next generation, barring some unforseen event. You can't win elections by not voting.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kelly-Kafir/100001899500966 Kelly Kafir

TP'ers will "ride" the backs of RINOS who do not uphold the party platform because that is called "holding them accountable!!" If they can't support the party platform then they need to go ahead and make the switch. Most TPers are VERY active within the Repub Party much to the dismay of the Country Club "moderate" Repubs... And they are not leaving. Same with the Liberty folks. And if the Repubs don't figure out a way to embrace those groups, they WILL go the way of the Whig party.

        • Chuck

The Tea Party is not a political party and has no "platform". There are many groups around the country who claim to be THE Tea Party, but in fact, there is no central organization. There are no leaders, little is any money, and no accountability.

        • LonMike

There are several long feeding Republicans who have been at the tough of public benefits way to long who have been replaced by TEA Party Candidates who may disagree with you that the Tea Party is not a "Party". But the fact is that it does not matter if they are an official party or just a movement or a fad, right now they are a force in the election process. As a long trime Republican myself, I look for candidates who get the backing of the "Tea Party" because they will more likely break up the status quo and the "good old boys" establishment in Washington.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steven-Lemon/100000733237588 Steven Lemon

It was uninformed people like you who were the problem, not Romney. You relied on what Romney told you about Romneycare instead of looking at it with an objective view.. Romney never said Romneycare was good for America, only that the people of Massachussets OTED for it instead of having it shoved up their ass like Obamacare was/is.

The way I see it, it wasn't McCain, Palin, Romney, the TEA Party or any of those people who put Obama in the White House. It was morons who had to "hold their nose" to vote for Romney or who "had no enthusiasm" or who "Couldn't vote for a Muslim or a Mormon" so they kept their dumb asses home and allowed the liberals to put a Baptist baby killer in the White House TWICE.

As for the religion thing, if that made a difference in your choice,
then why are you whining about the GOP RINOS? I can't see much
difference between a RINO and a DUMBO.

        • podunk1

Cruz needs all the support we can muster. Really? How would you know that since he has never held a public office. Of course, he received his law degree from Harvard, just like Obama, so that says a lot about his credibility. He was a DC attorney for the Peoples Republic of China, but spent a lot of time denying that association. Court documents prove otherwise.

        • Chuck

Where Obama was born has never been relevant, except in the minds of some hot headed TP'rs. His claimed father was not a U.S. citizen, therefore, he should never have been on the ballot. End of story. How he could be elected and reelected, under our Constitution, is a true mystery.

        • LonMike

It has always been relevant! The question is, IF it was proved that Obama was not legally elligible to be President, would all the executive orders that he wrote, all the bills that he signed and all the appointments that he made still be legally binding? I submit tht everything should be null and void and anything signed by this traitor be wiped off the books, just like taking away championships from sports teams.

        • LonMike

He is not. Why do you think that Obama has spent almost $1 million dollars trynig to cover up his past. HE is not a person who can legally hold the office of President! Where was the media to ask him the important questions during his run for office. They would have crucified a Republican over his social security number, lack of college transcripts and records, finacial aid, birth certificate, visa, passport and so on. But the lame stream media is farther to the left than Obama and they are supporting him and not exposing all his unconstitutional activities. It is hard to get the conservative message out to the people when the media lies for the President!

They were not, but that is not the applicable question. Even if his parents were not citizens, if he was actually born here in the US, he is a natural born citizen. That is why his birth certificate is so important. From Obamas own mouth he has said that he was born in Kenya.

He is until he is Impeached, tried in the Senate, found guilty and removed from office, defeated at the polls, or he resigns. The process is set out in the Constitution. He was legally elected twice, because he got the most votes, Now, whether he was qualified to be on the ballot is a whole different problem. His eligibility can be a part of the Impeachment process, but he can't be removed by any other process. That process has to begin in the House of Representatives with Artcles of Impeachment. Preliminary papers have already been filed, but no action has been taken, because the Democrat Senate will never vote to remove him from office if he is Impeached by the House.

        • bigD

Why are we talking about ANY republicans in this context.I haven't heard any official announcements about Cruz or Rubio running. I have heard no call by republicans to run roughshod over the constitution.Only left wing pundits and democrat politicians seem to have contempt for it. Has Obama not already called it a roadblock to his agenda? You are right about Cruz in your arguments: but you are shouting about a splinter in Cruz's eye and ignoring the beam in Obama's eye. There isn't a single part of the constitution any democrat seems obligated to follow. They say it is just an out dated piece of paper written by OLD WHITE SLAVE OWNERS and at any rate it is a "LIVING BREATHING DOCUMENT" meant to change with the trends of the times. As i said before there has been no official announcement from Cruz about a run for president. Obama is in his second term and might as well be using the constitution for toilet paper!!! Republicans will NEVER win another election again if we allow this to continue. When only one side is required to follow the rules, the game is FIXED!!! I always thought fixing an election was a crime!! Why don't we all stop worrying about the eligibility of loyal Americans and concentrate on the traitor in the white house and stopping him and his cronies from completing the coup that is taking place as we speak???!!!

Yes, shows how long the system has been attempting to propagandize the US citizen. Scary, to think how well it's worked on so many. McCarthy was right on the money.

      • don

you know mjrritter just proved it. like obama the marixs if his mouth is moving he's lying.

      • http://www.facebook.com/edward.shick.1 Edward Shick

I sure wish we had Joe McCarthy back ,,He was great on getting rid of communist and now we have a president who studied Marxism in Moscow at Patrice Lumumba univ.

      • Russell Sumpter

Hay (useful) idiot, history has proven McCarthy was right all along. The government of his time (just like today) was (is) inundated with communist. Today they disguise themselves by using pleasant sounding aliases’ i.e. progressives. They are also known as RINOs. McCarthy’s mistake was he did not know there were far more than he named.

To be fair, today’s mainstream media is only a propaganda machine and government education has been dumbing down our children for decades. Understandable since the communist are in charge of both and politicians are puppets.

And by the way communism is evil. Which is an accurate description. The real battle is good vs. evil, God vs. the devil. By the way we often imagine the devil as an evil looking red guy with horns and a pitch fork in actually God describes him as the most beautiful of all angles.

  • BROKE

We finally got an honest politician who is doing what he said he would do, unlike Scott
Brown. Scott, we can do better without you.

    • Remington 870

Yes, Scott Brown was a Rino who was destined to be cut from the herd and replaced by a real democrap...the fake native American woman. Neither one of these fools would be missed. They take up more oxygen from the rest of us.

But Cruz is not alone...there are other faithful TP Senators in office. We have Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Tim Scott, and some like Charles Grassley of Iowa who always do the right thing. 17 Senators voted with Rand Paul to NOT send F16 fighters and tanks to Egypt.

I hope and pray Sen Cruz sticks to his guns! He needs to beware of the elitist Republicans who will try to diminish him in any way. Look what they did to Michelle Bachman, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.

I am an active Republican and work in every election and every endorsement to get Conservative REPUBLICANS into office whether it is a party office or state office of federal office and judicial offices too. I am unfortunately not as effective as I would like.

You cannot do your job in Washington if you don't upset the status quo. The status quo, including all of the RINO's and Republican lap dogs of the Democrat Party, is what got this once great nation into the predicament we now find ourselves in. Every single problem we have stems from the unwillingness to uphold the Constitution AS WRITTEN. The Senate has no real purpose in Washington except to say no to the House, when "no" is appropriate. It has become nothing more than a "gentlemen's" club.

"Can't we all just get along?" No, Rodney. We can't and we shouldn't when your friends and associates are out to destroy the fabric of our society.

I voted for Senator Cruz, and I have been very happy with his work to honor a strong commitment to the Constitution. We need to replace all the "club" members in the Senate with new people prepared to stand up for originalism and American exceptionalism. Over time, we must make an effort to bring in new blood that views America as aspiring to be the great nation it once was, and take steps to return the country to a place in the community of nations deserving of respect. It is time to rid our government of progressives, socialists and communists. These "gutless" people are hell-bent on destroying what is left of the American dream. Obama and his minions in both parties see their job as facilitating the destruction of the Constitution. It is our job as loyal Americans to vote this trash out of office.

  • http://www.facebook.com/james.rowe.547 James Rowe

  • deyodl

The question is my fellow Americans when will "We the people", who have not been represented by these 535 to do the "Will of the People", get off from sitting on your hands and do something like our fore fathers already would have done? We have let a corrupt government tax us without representation, enslave almost 50% of Americans into some form of entitlement welfare program to gain their vote, steal from us with fraudelant taxes to pay for their wastefull spending and corrupttion and all we do is blog about it. We need to do 1 thing and you know what that is! This is not a gentlemans club it is a tyrannical government when will Americans fess up to this?

It is refreshing and hopefully may lead to people understanding, what it is a U.S Senator is
supposed to do once they are entrusted with the favor of the voter.
Three such examples of non conformist politicians are Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio who have in a short time demonstrated they are not about to go along with the usual program...of the three, Rand Paul shows promise for 2016.

  • gypsy314

He is doing what the voters sent him there to do and he took the oath like everyone else but many take the oath and forget it after that. Look Obama and democrats will not uphold the oath and some rhinos also are there only to rob the American people of the treasures and American peoples rights. I say remove every singe democrat and all rhinos from office one way or another. I prefer peaceful by by force if need be.

It would be nice to read a correct headline instead of this politically-correct coverup headline: "GOP Senators Upset Ted Cruz is Upholding His Constitutional Oath." Good Lord! There is one Senator who has the courage of a Lion! God Bless him. As far as John McAmensty and Graham are concerned both have been RINO"S for years- as well as most of the Repubican Congressmen and women. We, as citizens of this country, if we wish to continue with freedom and liberty; continue under Constitutional laws would be well served to clean out a very smelly, corrupt seat (Wash. D.C.) of our government. Citizens did not create the economic, unconstitutional government we presently endure - politicians did this all by themselves - to amass their greed and power. When are you citizen libotard going to wake up and realize you are being "had"?

My Senators from ND, one Republican, and one Democrate are not Ted Cruzs unfortuneately they are both already part of the Republican and Democratic Establishments in Washington DC. We need to change that in the next election cycle they are up for reelection it gives us 4 and 6 years respectively to get that done in ND. We're working on it!

    • VocalYokel

I live in ND also, and Hoeven was clever enough to run as a Republican while Heitkamp was clever enough to run as one too.
      The result?
More Liberal side-stepping, weasel-words, and big government mentality from the 'representatives' of a state that thinks it is Conservative.

  • draeh2020

Thank you God for sending people like Mr. Cruz to washington. Next we need Dr. Carson in washington. Those scumbags haven't seen upset until he gets there.

  • James Maxwell

Over the years we had had many good people go to Washington DC with good intentions,
unfortunately the longer they stayed in office and became corrupted by the system they
have lost all honor and respect for the voters. But the votes do not escape the blame
either, they ard as guilty as the criminal in Washington DC. We have continued to put
these people in office and not hold them accountable. We hear crys of term limits
yet the votes have control over that at every election. They choose not to follow
that and send the same criminal back to office in both parties. The voters are responsible
for what has happened as much as the elected officals. Until the public wakes up
and pays attention to what is happening we will continue down the path to losing
our nation and our freedom. Today we have many who are waking up to that fact
and working against the system that has existed for years in our naiton.

    • VocalYokel

"...many good people go to Washington DC with good intentions...and become corrupted by the system..."

  • OlleoLeo11

What makes me so overjoyed and astounded about Cruz is that he is ONE man opening the "original argument" to the Senate. I know that there are more, but could you imagine fifty men and women of Cruz's ideas. WOW, Cruz gives me hope; the Drive by Media are fervently confused as to who exactly from the Conservative group to focus their destruction upon; what Lib-swine can't fathom is that true Conservatives use ideas as their armor, it will take more than phony conspiracies and rhetoric to penetrate our Leaders who live and breathe the Original Argument. Note to you Media slime: Cruz is ONE of many awaiting their turn; we are here to see that they get it....not KKKarl Rove.

The fact that the Senate voted for John Kerry's confirmation with only three "no" votes is a clear sign of the bankruptcy of both parties. How any good American could have supported that traitor is beyond reason. Ted Cruz was one of a handful to vote correctly. We need more like Cruz with the cajones to support the American people and the
    Constitution.

  • DrBillLemoine

This article ends with this: "When a Democrat gets attacked on the facts or principles, they resort to
name calling." But the article gives not one fact or principle under contention in discussions with Cruz and fails to show that Cruz is alone in his nasty tactics, even rebuffed by 'maverick' John McCain.

Then this piece states with pride: "Fortunately, most low-information voters don’t know much
if anything about Joseph McCarthyism." What Cruz is doing is smearing Hagel with unproven, unsubstantiated opinion like McCarthy. Low information voters form the base of the Tea Party that's giving themselves, other Republicans, the Senate, the House and this nation a bad name. That's nothing to be proud of.

    • draeh2020

It is time to replace all the feminine men in the Republican party with real men that give a damn about this country and the oath they will take to serve and preserve the constitution and protect ad serve the people they told they would represent. These old bastardos that are in the House and Senate noe that claim to represent us are nothing more the a group of CS RINO's that have all bowed down to the Democrat party and Obama especially. In the election 2014 don't let the Republican machine tell us who to vote for but vote for the man/woman that will serve us and save this country from any more fascism and total take over by the government. One way to start this movement is to start a movement to get Boehner replaced with someone that has leadership skills and the guts to fight the establishment and the one name that comes to mind at this moment is Bauchman. Just a thought

I have been delaying my renewal to the Repubican Party. I have made up my mind to cut up mu card and send it back to them with my disgust with them. A conservative I will remain and a new party I also will be looking for. I thought the Tea Party was what I was looking for, but, they have become useless because they have no common agenda. Each little group has thier own agenda just like the RINO's. We don't need celebraties we need patriots. We are fighting to regain this country as a constitutional federation not something that each party has conceived. My vote is for Cruz and others willing to fight for the constitution and eliminate those that wish too destoy this country as Obama and the democratic party have dedicated themselves to do.Their are millions patriots willing to support those that are dedicated to saving the constitution from those who wish to destroy it.

someone that you perceive as being evil all you have to say is this… “In the
name of Jesus Christ I command you to go back to where it is that you came from
and leave me alone!” It works for me! It’s like a cocked and locked double barrel
shotgun to the evil ones. Why else do you think they don’t want his name spoken
in Government? It’s really Gods laws that they are undermining that this
countries laws are based on. Do it and watch them go ape____ over it, trust me
they will. It’s fun to watch because they completely lose it. The bible is a
book of morals something these people have forgotten or never learned. In order
to fix this we have to bring it back that’s how and when Christ will return. He
protects and follows those who follow his word and there are no if ands or buts
to it. Maybe that’s why most lawyers don’t like it there’s no room for change
rendering their skills irrelevant. That’s how we change it back.

As a conservative i wish the republicans at the top could get some sort of conscience. They they talk compromise when they should be standing up for truth.

I am afraid they will wear out Marc Rubio and get him to become a RINO. They tell young republicans how they think things should get done and the truth is nothing is getting done. Put conservative ideas on the table. Address immagrtion, and other social issues in one statement and then present what all americans want and that is a real ecconomic plan. We need to make it clear to all that raising taxe rates doesn't increase tax revenue. Welfare is a BAD substitute for employment. Welfare fraud is a crime and should be delt with strongly.
And we need to make sure that all know we are the real party of civil rights. Bring in new intelectuals like Ben Carlson, and let them describe more and more clearly how Political Correctness is not thge way to approach our problems. We need a new common sence that is fact based.
Show the voting recorsds of Charles Rangle and other crazy loony liberals have cause huge unproductive welfare valcumes in their districts.
We should stand behind Cruz and other real conservatives when they are the ones who realy want to help this country.

Give em HELL Ted! Mr Cruz goes to Washington... a new movie about a freshman senator. With common sense and courage to run for President 2016!

The truth is if the Democrats, the Republican leadership and many Republicans had their way, they would make us into a communist country. That is where they would yield the most power. They want to control every aspect of every citizen's life. 1984 "utopia" is close at hand and I am not sure that is not too late to stop the tranformation.

The Republicans keep telling us how nice the dems are while the dems take to the Senate floor and say the most vile things about them. No wonder the Republicans are becoming irrelevent.

I'm not sure about Senator Cruz' background but I would vote for him as authentic, 100% American before ANY senator on the anti-American Socialist-Communist Democrat side of the Senate. There is not one genuine AMERICAN on the left side of that assembly.
God Bless and protect you Senator Cruz.

And I am NOT from Texas.

You can believe one thing when you come up for re-election you will not need any funds from any political party. Just put your request on the inter net and I guarantee you will have all of the funds and more than you need. Thanks, Buddy.

  • coolercoleman

We need a lot of primaries in the senate to clean out this snake pit. It's getting so you can't tell a liberal from a Republican. There are those who think you have to be a RINO to win. The ones who think that are in for a surprise.

  • WilliamSpires

It's about time we had a Republican who is a conservative also; we need more like Cruz who will do something besides kiss the democrats ring,correction- besides kiss their butts.

It just goes to prove that we should be following the terms as stated in the Constitution, and not the interpreted selection that we have now. It states a term of two years for the House and six for the Senate, no where does it state over and over again, as some have made it. If we were to follow the law as written we would be cycling through the cronyism that we now have.

I am proud to have voted for Ted Cruz, put his signs on my lawn, made a small contribution to him and recommended to all of my friends that they should vote for him. Having worked in Washington, DC (in the Reagan Administration) I agree with Truman's admonition, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog". If Ted Cruz carries around with him a copy of the Constitution, and the Bible, and votes accordingly, then he will be a great Senator.

  • Bo_Kassa

Cruz'n along on the Cruz ship: Righteousness. You go Senator.

How about we make you Senate minority leader instead of the worthless Mitch McConnell, who'll do everything possible to appease Senator Reid and the communist party element AKA Democrats in DC.

  • GQ4U

Not long ago many were praising Rubio for his staunch conservatism and strict constitutional stand, but his first major effort to craft legislation is to reward criminals who have invaded America. Washington DC corrupts the everyday people we send there and they seem to lose sight of what they were elected to do. Caving in is not on my list of accomplishments.

Ted Cruz might be one of the good strong ones, and I believe Rand Paul is too.

  • TransplantedTexan

My God!!! A principled politician (and I thought those words had become an oxymoron) and one who, when elected, actually does what he said he would do when running for office. No wonder the professional Republican politicians are upset - principled politicians are so few and far between in the Senate RINO exhibit. Professional Republican politicians normally run on rhetoric and then go to Washington and ignore the principles they so righteously espoused. That is why their own base has started referring to the two political parties and the "Evil" party and the "Stupid" party. Of course for the Democrats, when the "N" word no longer works, they can always pull out the "M" word rather than engage in a meaningful dialogue based upon the facts and merits of subject at hand. And the Democrat-Progressives are either so ignorant that they believe their own fantasies or have become so adept at ignoring the facts and espousing their own rewriting of history; that they think accusing someone of McCarthyism is a negative approbation. This ignores the facts that have come to light since the Communists (and American "Liberal-Progressives") lost the Cold War that prove that McCarty was actually on target with his views and accusations. Pity that Senator Cruz cannot become a donor and provide backbone transplants to the rest of the Republicans in the Senate.

  • dragonfFIRE01

keep on truckin ted keep on truckin

  • Ralph

    No need for term limits.

It’s easy to fix if the congress
and the president really want to help this country grow and show that their
first concern is the betterment of the country as a whole and not of their
pocketbook. As of now the average elected person in congress, I won’t say
earns, but is paid $174,000.00. Their better than half pay pensions are
determent by their length of service and their age. As an example, any one of
them, with 25 years in elected office will get full pension at any age. Now
here is the fix to get things done and lower the debt. To start with, all
eligible elected persons including the president and his appointees are paid
the prevailing yearly wage as a starting point. Each year their pay is reduced
by 10% if the debt is not reduced by 10%. If it is reduced, their wage stays on
top. Every year the debt is not reduced by 10% in succession their wage will be
reduced by another 10%. This means, if they go for example, the next three
years without the annual 10% reductions their pay will be 30% less than their
first years pay. And so on. If after a number of years with no reductions, and
then they have a year of the 10% reduction, the pay of all members will be
increased from by 10% of what they are paid at the time of the reduction. This
continues till the debt is gone. If all
is done right their pay would remain at the top base pay and we will be out of
debt. Any newly elected persons pay will start at the current base. This does
not apply to anyone reelected; their pay will remain the same level as it was before
reelection. No good conscientious American should be against this plan if they
think of their country before themselves. There would be no need for term
limits as those who care little about their country will bail as their salary
    is diminished.

    God Bless America.

    Ralph

  • Chuck

The first Cuban/Canadian/American Senator from Texas is off to great start. He will not receive any important committee assignments, nor support for any bills that would benefit his constituents. His bills can be blocked by one Senator. He may wind up like R. Paul who managed to pass less than 5 bills in the House over a period of more than 15 years. The only thing for sure about Sen Cruz is, he is not a 'native born citizen', so he can never run for President.

The same Panda Bear costume has been used at Freedomworks rallies in the past.

  • oleinwi

Actually Joe McCarthy was right all along! Thank God there are few like Mr. Cruz still willing to stand up. But is it too little, too late?...I pray not.

EVERYONE, and I REPEAT ALL OF YOU, need to read a book called "The Naked Communist" by W. Cleon Skousen. He was an FBI agent from the
30's to the 60's, charged with infiltrating the Communist Party of America. When they realized they couldn't just get enough folks to blatantly take us over, they decided to plan how to do it from within. The book was published in like 1960. It is truly PROPHETIC. They set out a checklist of items in order to take over from within. It is frightening
how many they have achieved! Here is a short list, read it and weep...and buy more ammo if you can find it! Now remember, this list is from 1960...many of the last 10 are nothing short of shocking, and happening RIGHT NOW. Joe McCarthy was right all along!

    1. U.S. should accept coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

    3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the U.S. would be a demonstration of "moral strength."

    4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

    6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

    7. Grant recognition of Red China and admission of Red China to the U.N.

    11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces.

    12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

    15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the U.S.

    16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

    17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put
    the party line in textbooks.

    18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

    19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations that are under Communist attack. (OWS?)

    20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

    21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.

    22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings,"substituting shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms. (I give you "modern art")

    23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. " Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." (I give you "piss Christ")

24.Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

    25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.

    26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural and healthy."

    27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the
Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." (Allowing openly gay ministers has split several major churches)

    28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state"

    29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. (Ruth Bader Ginsberg just said this recently)

    30. Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." (Like Democrats are doing RIGHT NOW)

    31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture." Give more
emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

    32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. (Obamacare!)

    33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

    34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

There were, and most assuredly STILL ARE, Communists right here in our society, now concentrated mainly in leadership positions in labor unions, and our GOVERNMENT! Today, they are hiding from the Communist and liberal labels, proclaiming themselves as "Progressives", as the name 'progressive' must mean they are looking forward, enlightened, aware, and benign!

To be sure, they ARE looking forward......to when they completely take over the government (having already complete control of the unions!) and can confidently write laws which will ensure and protect their continued reign! So far as enlightened, aware, and benign....? They are also self-deluded and egotistical: as they ALREADY believe they are these. Just ask them, and they'll tell you! They absolutely know what is best for you, and will quickly tell you just how simple it is to obtain it! Just "trust' them!

    • alio

And there are far too many in DC today too including..........Joe McCarthy was right.

  • bob

You'll want to correct designation of Charles Rangel to representative rather than
    senator. Blessings!

  • Wayne

A message to the idiots that are upset with Ted Cruz. Why do you think we sent him there? He is doing his job, the same one you are supposed to be doing. Now wake up and do your job as well.

I guess Im not the only one disgusted with the party of rinos. Saying one thing and doing another. We know the dems are criminally evil, but when your own party becomes a look alike in a 2 party system it sickens me. I dont recognize them anymore.

    • alio

NO, you're not the only one disgusted with our DC rinos. Double talking liars is what too many of them are.........I've been so disgusted for a number of years and even went so far as to re-register as an Independent so I wouldn't be associated with them...but in saying that, I'd never vote for a current day Dem.

  • LittleMoose

Ted Cruz is doing exactly what the people in Texas elected him to do. If the RINOs don't like it they should join the Democrat Party.

    • alio

Most of the Rino's are democrats, but trying to fool everyone using R instead of D because they'd do anything to get elected and be like Pelosi..........ugg!

  • Texsheva

They're upset because he's exposing them as the CROOKS they are!!!!! Stick with it Sen. Cruz. It's wonderful & refreshing to hear someone who represents OUR views!!!!

    • alio

Yea!.....................love 'em, love freedom as I remember it being at one time.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kelly-Kafir/100001899500966 Kelly Kafir

McCarthy was RIGHT!!! We did have a lot of commies in Hollywood and in our government... and now they are working with the Muslim Brotherhood for our complete destruction!!

    • alio

And too many of those Commies in Hollyweird are still there and still fighting the fight against America (the land of what used to be free) LET's become FREE again.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Carol-Fryer/100000156546455 Carol Fryer

Too bad Rinos. Youve more then upset so many in your party because you WONT adhere to the constitution. Your acting too much like the criminal left.

  • Publius40

Democrats have always relied on the control of the lame stream media by leftists to allow them to utilize language to demonize their opposition. The power of propaganda to overcome truth should never be underestimated.

Anyone accused of "McCarthyism" should wear that name with pride. Google "Venona Papers" and see Mccarthy was right about the infiltration of government and important positions of power by communists. Or, see a chapter from a book about the Venona Papers at, http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/h/haynes-venona.html

The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 allowed limited access to archives which proved the accuracy of the Venona Papers.

The Papers - intercepts of secret messages between Soviet intelligence and their spies in America - revealed the existence of 349 highly placed agents. Less than half were ever conclusively identified, but they went high into the State Department, the military, the Treasury Dept., and were scientists on the most secret of projects.

Around 200 were never identified and continued on with their work to undermine the foundations that built America and substitute communism/socialism in our country.

By all present accounts of the condition of America it appears to me they have been largely successful.

    Yes, McCarthy was right.

    • alio

Thank God we can see what that was all about now. I remember when I was very young, it seemed they were always ragging on McCarthy. It was beyond my understanding, but in the last few years we've learned how RIGHT McCarthy was.
And I still hurt for him, how hateful they treated him. I might not have been old enough to understand all of it, but somehow I remember my heart going out to him.

  • ArtF

Hopefully the rotten Republican and GOP leaders will continue to harass this young and honest Senator from Texas who refuses to play the "corrupt ball" Republicans like John McCain, Lindsey Graham, John Boehner and Eric Cantor love to play. If they bring enough attention on Cruz and what he is striving to do, "Obey the Constitution" which is so out of vogue for the White House, Congress and the Federal Court system, maybe we can actually get the sleaze bag Democrats, Republicans and Independents thrown out of DC permanently.

  • http://www.facebook.com/samson.firestarter Samson Firestarter

God Bless Texas...And You, Mr Cruz

    • alio

AMEN..........Oh, I wish I were in Texas, hurray, hurray. DON'T Mess with Texas!

  • http://www.facebook.com/craig.mayberry.1 Craig Mayberry

Go get 'em TED. At least someone in DC knows why they're there.

  • http://www.facebook.com/michael.penson.125 Michael Penson

If the Dem-O-rats and the Rions don't like it then quit. Oh yea, they have. Seen anything good coming out of dc?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sandra-Manzi/100002132283626 Sandra Manzi

I'm on board with Senator Cruz, called his office and told him I'm a proud American and Thank God for him, We need more like him and Rubio.....To many old Rhinos in our Party, holding on to THIER POWER and forgetting WHY THEY WERE SENT THERE AND WHO THEY WORK FOR.....

    • alio

You got that right........ I hardly trust any of the people we've sent to D.C. anymore.
They seem to be there for themselves, not the people they are supposed to represent.

  • mdblanchard

It is the RINO"S like McCain that have their panties in a wad! ALL of the reps in DC need to remember who put them in office and who they work for, unfortunately they think they work for lobbyists!

    • Chuck

Cruz was a DC lawyer for the Peoples Republic of China, though he has tried every conceivable way to deny that association. His signature on court documents say otherwise . I suppose, since he is a Tea Party advocate, it is alright for him, but not for others.

      • alio

BFD..........look at the worst examples, the ones who go to Washington D.C. and get bought off by the Lobbyists. Many lawyers represent the BAD guy. It's their job, but it's not the job of our congressmen to be BOUGHT OFF by lobbyists.

    • Marj0120

Sadly you're right, McCain is not seeking re-election, neither is John Kyl, so we conservatives in AZ just cringe and are helpless to exert any pressure on them when they behave like RINOs. They have nothing to gain or lose.

  • Marilyn Z

We need to watch Cruz and see what happens....I have watched too many idealistic young people go off to DC and go over to the dark side. Right now he is my hero.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=590985957 Sue Little

Go Ted!!!!! I voted for him and I am so pleased to see he is living up to his oath. Now, we need 99 more.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=590985957 Sue Little

I voted for him and I am so glad he is living up to his oath. Go Ted!!!

  • http://www.survivingurbancrisis.com/ Silas Longshot

It's very likely indeed those loinvot bozo's would think it would have something to do with an old rock and roll group, having had NO history in their typical public school lessons.

This one is indeed a rare breed of politician, a man of the Constitution and principles. You won't see much of this up there today.

  • alio

Thank you Ted Cruz for being the kind of politician our founding fathers were. Stands on principle, not going along to get along and try to be the most popular wannabe Senator.
You stand for our Constitution and the people who sent you there to do exactly what you're doing.
Sure, we all want to be liked, but running our Country the right way is far more important than being 'their' buddy. If other Senators and Representatives had balzs, they'd act more like you, and do 'their' jobs........that's what we sent them for, not a popularity contest.

  • Brabado

Republicans in Washington have been in bed with Democrats for so long, enjoying an amoral relationship, 'that they just don't know how to defend our Conservatives Moral Values,or the U.S. Consititution .. .and our entire Nation, have been aware of it, forthe longest time...

    Shame on you all!

True Conservatives must contiunue to support and push for Sed. Ted Cruz success, against this bunch of corrupt politicians!

    IN GOD WE TRUST.

  • v steve

Ask Senator Ted Cruz to defund or abolish the Federal Department of Education, that is brainwashing our children in socialism and now obama not only wants our firearms he wants our pre school children.

  • Made_in_the_USA

I'm proud to have voted for him in both primary and general election. He's a fine upstanding American, plus he has the added honor of being a Texan!!

  • truepatriotintx

Sad thing is that Ted Cruz fought a tough fight against the establishment to get his position. We, in Texas would not back down and made sure the run-off went to our guy, Ted Cruz.

  • http://twitter.com/NumbuhOne Lee Wheat

Small correction - Rangel is in the House, not the Senate.

  • http://www.facebook.com/whisper.atnight.5 Whisper Atnight

There needs to be TERM LIMITS for Congress and Senators.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bob-Pegram/604779359 Bob Pegram

The difference between Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio is day and night. Cruz is a strict constitutionalist. Rubio isn't even a 'natural born citizen" and so is ineligible for the Presidency or Vice-presidency.

  • Ian Bell

    This guy is awsome.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003946182747 Mildred Fischer

Go Cruz go. How refreshing to have a Congressional member actually do what he says, honors his oath, and follows the Constitution.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1361477795 Marc Conder

dear god, we need a few dozen Joe McCarthys he was not wrong, nor was he mistaken. Hollywood has far to many left leaning communist types in charge and in positions of power. We need his type to day to clean house, repeat a few Rosenburg cases, and see where the roaches run when we shine a light.

  • john baker

Mealy mouthed republicans don't need to come back into the fold , they just need to go period

  • CARLjr

Don't worry about things like "evidence". Just throw out your accusations as though they are true.

  • Imprimis77

All over the country there is such stupidity; ex. our Legislator in my state has been a rep. ad nuseum. When one is too long anywere it becomes more difficult to "stand alone"...afterall, these are your buddies. So people call for term limit legislation while continuing to vote for the same old/same old...no logic; he/she is "nice" . What? oh, they did not spit on you. Now I see..they are paid to be nice...what they say and do in their positions is what is nice or not. People...pls. get real. Cruz is what they are all supposed to be; Constitutionalists...they took a VOW...what part of this does anyone not understand? No, I am not going to sensitivity training nor am I going to anger management...every American should say it like it is and have righteous anger at those institutions and people who are taking our freedoms and liberties..as though they have that right.

  • http://www.facebook.com/leslie.day.5477 Leslie Day

Praise God, that Senator Cruz has the courage to stand up to those in Washington that should keep the promises they make to those that vote for them. We need more politicians that keep their word!!! He is standing up for what is right and full filling his promises to the people that voted for him. He is a Tea Party member as is Marco Rubio, thank God for them. Prayerfully we can get more like these two gentlemen that Love God, Family and Country. They are Proud to be Americans!!!!

  • kd

Just ANOTHER reason to LOVE TEXAS....

  • mrookergolf1

Between Cruz and Rubio, there is hope for the Republican Party yet. We need some of the leadership replaced and let them carry the banner against the Socialist Democrats.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rocky.vnvmc Rocky Vnvmc

"Charley Rangel, the Senate’s third-ranking Democrat..."
If I'm not mistaken, Rangel is the same idiot that was afraid that the Island of Guam would Capsize, were we to post too many Marines there !
    This is the Opposition ?

  • LetzBReal

A guy like Cruz sounds good, but he must pass Constitutional muster! That's why I oppose Marco Rubio - I've heard he has questionable Constitutional credentials. In addition Time magazine is promoting him - that ought to tell you something - Hitler was their "Man of the Year" in 1938. We need to affirm the Constitution or otherwise we are just hypocrites playing into the hands of the liberals.

  • williaml

I LOVE WHAT TED CRUZ IS DOING!
He is doing things Texas style

  • Dasrge

I like Cruz...BUT he DOES NOT pass the Constitutional Test. I like Rubio, but he doesn't either. Ted Cruz was born in Canada to a American mother and a Cuban immigrant. He is the offspring of ONE American citizen and an immigrant born in a foreign country that moved here when Ted was 4. Ted Cruz's father did not become a US citizen until 2005. He is no more eligible to be president than Obubba is. Rubio was born to 2 Cuban immigrants on american soil. His parents didn't apply to be citizens unil 4 years after he was born. His parents had been here for over 30 years before they decided to apply to be citizens. So...he isn't eligible either. As much as the libertards want to press their BS, 2 CITIZEN PARENTS makes a natural born citizen not one. Nor does just being born here make you an NBC. I'm sick to death of hearing all the BS about this. Obubba HIMSELF admitted he wasn't a natural born citizen when he was running for the Illinois State Senate, it's a matter of public record. He applied for financial aid at Occidental College as an Indonesian foreign student, the document is well known...I, like many, have a PDF copy. He admitted his father was Kenyan and a foreign student in his book, which didn't sell worth a crap until after a ran for the senate and he asked for a second printing. Bill Clinton tried to spread the word that Obubba wasn't eligible during the 2008 primaries, but was silenced by the party, or someone else...this to is a matter of public record. The dems knew this bonehead wasn't eligible, but have bent things to meet their needs, even though it is not constitutionally legal. Just because libertards do something, doesn't mean that conservatives have to stoop to their low level. I'm not a republican, I'm a Constitutional Conservative, and it sickens me that other conservatives will use the observation, "well they did it first" or "the democrats set the precedent" to push for a candidate that isn't constitutionally eligible, just because he is liked and can bring in the Latino vote. An agreed upon precedent by the parties does not amend the constitution. We either work within our constitution or we don't. The libs are already trying to destroy our sacred document, unless it benefits them at the time. We don't need to help them set the fire, we need to SET THE EXAMPLE.

This is a man I supported while here in Texas, I voted for him as senator, and I am decidedly happy with his actions in moribund Washington DC. Its almost a badge of honor to have the senior senator from Arizona chastising him. Add McCain's comments to those of Lindsey Graham's and you have a man who already is earning his money. A pox on the houses of all RINOS and Progresive socialists!
