American Eagle has joined in on the Islamization movement of America, similarly to how Nike has, and launched denim hijab sales online.
I have a couple of serious questions pertaining to this. For one, considering the literal symbolism of the hijab and the oppression connected to it, why would American Eagle jump the wagon so willy nilly?
Second of all, even if Islamic women are forced to wear these heat contraptions, why on earth would they choose to wear a denim one? Modesty aside, denim is not a thin material.
This is outright ridiculous.

The “dark indigo” hijab is only available online at the moment, and retails for $19.95. American Eagle, in an attempt to be relatable, added into the description: “Wear it your way. Make it as original as you are.”
If you are being forced to wear a hijab, you do not get to wear it your way and you are not allowed to express any form of originality.
American Eagle is the latest fashion company to embrace the Islamic faith, with Nike debuting a hijab months ago with the athletic company’s famous logo printed on it, as Breitbart News reported.
“The Nike Pro Hijab has been a year in the making, but its impetus can be traced much further back to Nike’s founding mission, to serve athletes, with the signature addendum: If you have a body, you’re an athlete,” Nike executives said in a statement.
Perhaps this is just American Eagle’s attempt to capitalize on the face that there are not any big brands, aside from Nike, who are making hijabs. The capitalist inside of me wants to congratulate that but at the same time, it’s such a wrong thing to do. It would be like capitalizing on rings for dog fights or abortion tools for Planned Parenthood…….Or pulling a Hillary Clinton and selling arms to our enemies. There are just some things that should not be capitalized on.
