Remember last summer when Chick-fil-A garnered the national spotlight for their defense of traditional marriage? Dan Cathy, President of Chick-fil-A stated publicly that he believes in what the Bible says about marriage and that it’s between one man and one woman. Naturally, when presented with biblical truth, a culture of sinful perversion recoils and hisses like an angry snake. Their hissing was so loud that it resulted in a day of record sales for Chick-fil-A.
Around the same time last summer, an 18 year Army veteran received his promotion to the rank of Master Sergeant. The new Master Sergeant was so elated over his promotion that he planned a celebration. After everything was planned, the Sergeant sent out invitations to family and friends that read:
“In honor of my promotion and in honor of the Defense of Marriage Act, I’m serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches at my promotion party.”
Not long after his party, the Master Sergeant received a letter of reprimand concerning his serving Chick-fil-A sandwiches and honoring the Defense of Marriage Act. The letter was entered into his permanent file, the first only blemish in an outstanding 18 year career in the Army. The Army also launched an official investigation to determine whether or not he had violated any Army policies.
Retired Army Chaplain Col. Ron Crews told OneNewsNow:
“He was notified by one of his superior officers that [honoring DOCA] was not in good order and discipline.”
This year when the Master Sergeant received his annual review, he was shocked to see that he was listed being a mediocre soldier who was a non-performer. Col. Crews relayed:
He just got his latest annual efficiency report, and for the first time in his career he’s been marked as a mediocre soldier, a non-performer, and all this stuff that is just outrageous.”
Now consider this: The Defense of Marriage Act is still a federal law and all military personnel are sworn to uphold the Constitution and the law of the land. Therefore, how could anyone possibly reprimand anyone in the military for honoring a federal law?
Secondly, last year the Pentagon ruled that military personnel were allowed to march in gay pride parades in their uniforms. Homosexuality has not been made legal by any federal law, yet.
So it is okay for a uniformed soldier to march in support of something that is not legal in most of the United States, but it’s not okay for a soldier to honor an existing federal law or to serve Chick-fil-A?
According to Col. Crews, the Pentagon has a new don’t ask don’t tell policy, only this time it’s for Christians and not homosexuals. If Christians remain silent and do nothing about their faith, then nothing will happen to them. However, if they do let it be known that they are a Christian and they actually live their faith, then they will be persecuted by military brass.
In less than 4 years, our first Muslim President, Barack HUSSEIN Obama has transformed our once proud military into nothing more than a sanctuary for Muslims and sexual perverts. Doesn’t that make you feel real secure and safe knowing who’s defending our nation and supposedly defending our freedoms?
