With so many bakeries available in most cities, you would think that there would be plenty of options for homosexuals wanting wedding cakes for their perverted ceremonies. Yet there seems to be a growing trend for some of them to intentionally target Christian owned bakeries.
Are they doing this to force them to violate their faith like Obama did with Christian employers and the contraception mandate or are they out to make a lot of money off of Christians?
Last October I reported on the case of Aaron and Melissa Klein who owned Sweet Cakes by Melissa in Gresham, Oregon. The Kleins are devout Christians and when a lesbian couple asked them to make their wedding cake for them, the Klein’s turned down the request because of their Christian faith.
Instead of being as tolerant as they want others to be, the lesbians ran crying to the state and filed a discriminatory lawsuit against them. Once the lawsuit had been filed and made public, homosexuals from all over the area, state and nation began a campaign of harassment against the Kleins for being so intolerant.
Melissa loved her bakery and being part of special occasions in the lives of others, but her Christian faith was more important than her business. Consequently, the Kleins made the hardest decision of their lives and closed their bakery. They said they weren’t forced to close the doors but it was their decision so that they would not be placed in the same situation again, however, they are taking orders online. After closing the doors to their bakery, the Kleins posted a graphic on the Sweet Cakes by Melissa Facebook page that quotes Joshua 24:15:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
On Monday, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries ruled that Aaron and Melissa Klein were guilty of discrimination against the lesbian couple and that they will have to pay the couple up to $150,000 in restitution. In their decision, the bureau stated that although religious institutions can be protected by an exemption, the exemption do not cover private businesses.
Anna Harmon, the attorney representing the Kleins said that the ruling is wrong and dangerous. She stated:
“Americans should not have to choose between adhering to their faith or closing their business, but that is what this decision means.”
The hypocrisy in all of this is that homosexuals call themselves liberals and, if you read my posting from yesterday, the term liberal means tolerant and supporting of rights and freedoms. Yet most liberals are really not liberal, they are tyrants who only want to strip you of your rights and freedoms while forcing their ways upon you.
Unless our nation turns from its wicked ways, repents and embraces the teaching and statutes of God, this type of Christian persecution will not only continue, but will likely increase until Christians have no rights left.
