Around 1900, progressives were already here in America and planning out their strategy of how to turn America into a socialist nation. Due to the American culture at the time, with our Christian foundations, it would have to be a gradual change that would take at least one hundred years. In order to reach their goal, they had to undermine the strong Christian foundation and the strong traditional family structure and they determined that public education would be one of the most effective tools they could use.
John Dewey, considered by many to be one of the fathers of today’s public education system, had stated that they could change the nation in a matter of several generations by having the nation’s kids 8 hours a day 5 days a week for 12 years. Progress was slow at the beginning, but that all started to change in the 1960s.
The effects of subtle progressive teaching had reached a point to cause a generation to openly challenge American culture. The hippie, free love and anti-Vietnam War movement gripped the nation and began ripping it apart. Atheists openly challenged Christian and biblical teaching in the public schools and a liberally appointed Supreme Court upheld those challenges and totally changed our society.
Plans were laid around 1900 and saw its first fruits blossoming in the 1960s and 70s. Since that time, progressives and socialists no longer had to hide, but were able to actively promote their anti-American agendas more openly. However there was still enough of a conservative and Christian foundation that kept the progressives somewhat at bay.
Then a blind America elected its first openly socialist leader to occupy the White House. Since Barack Obama took over, the rate of socialist progressiveness has drastically increased. It’s like a long distance runner giving that last burst of speed as he nears the finish line.
Under Obama’s tutelage, socialist teachings are now openly taught from kindergarten up through college. Kids in our public schools are being taught that the conservative Christian America we all knew is the cause of the world’s problems and that it needs to be changed. They are being taught to turn to a new progressive government. They are being taught to disrespect and disobey their parents if it’s in their best interest.
Take a look at today’s public schools and you will see the effects of 100 years of socialist brainwashing. Student bodies are voting to ban the American flag from campus and now a student body votes for a communist theme for their prom.
Prommunism was voted as the theme for the senior prom at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by the student body. However, not all of the students at Cottonwood favor the communism theme for their prom. One student told the local media:
“I would hope Cottonwood would realize the seriousness of having a very powerful and destructive idea as the theme for a prom.”
Another student commented:
“While the seniors meant no harm in their choice of theme, it is not appropriate.”
It seems that school officials have not condemned the prommunism theme. According to Sam Obenshain, Executive Director at the school explained:
“Our students are in the International Baccalaureate program, so they are very academically focused. One of the classes they enjoy the most is a world history class.”
“We want to make sure we honor the students’ voices but at the same time we use this as a learning experience for them.”
So what kind of lessons have these students been learning that would prompt them to make communism the theme for their prom? Kyle Olson with EAGNews is also wondering what lessons these students are learning. He asks:
“Will they review the names of the estimated 94 million people that perished under communist regimes in China, the Soviet Union, North Korea, Afghanistan and Eastern Europe during the 20th Century?”
“Will they have to stand in hours-long lines waiting for their slice of government cheese?”
“Will they all wear olive-colored clothing and be barred from expressing their individualism?”
“Maybe Cottonwood will have an adaptation of the traveling Titanic exhibit where the visitor takes on the identity of a passenger, and at the end of the tour, they see if they lived or died.”
“Maybe instead of dancing the YMCA, students will each receive a card and they’ll be told what job to perform, where to live and what and how much they can eat.”
“There are two directions for the April 25th event to go: an accurate depiction of communism, or a caricature inspired by ‘hip’ thugs like Che Guevara and today’s progressives.”
I seriously doubt if today’s liberal schools teach the truth about communism, considering they don’t teach the truth about America either. The vote for prommunism is proof of what a century of public school brainwashing has accomplished. It’s also an indicator of just how close our nation is to falling into the hands of socialists and I can’t help but recall the words of warning penned by John Adams in a letter to his wife Abigail in 1775:
“Our consolation must be this, my dear, that cities may be rebuilt, and a people, reduced to poverty, may acquire fresh property. But a constitution of government, once changed from freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost, is lost forever.”
“When the people once surrender their share in the Legislature, and their right of defending the limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every encroachment upon them, they can never regain it.” [John Adams, Letter to Abigail Adams, 7 July, 1775, Charles Francis Adams Ed., Letters of John Adams Addressed to his Wife, Charles Little and James Brown, Boston, MA, 1841, pp. 49-50.]
We are so close to losing our liberty and surrendering our share in the legislature that with Obama’s help, we are on verge of making these 240 year old prophetic words come true. All I can say is ‘God help us.’
