Democrat Party Official Tells Students to Stomp on Jesus’ Name

The Palm Beach County Democratic Party is rearing its very ugly head once again.

Vice Chairman Deandre Poole, who is a college professor at Florida Atlantic University, has stirred up controversy and angered a lot of people with an assignment in his Intercultural Communications class in which he asked students to write the name of Jesus on a piece of paper then stomp on it.

A student who refused, Ryan Rotella of Coral Springs, was suspended from the class after he complained to school officials about the assignment. The university has issued a statement defending the lesson.

In a message to the local CBS affiliate, university officials wrote, “Faculty and students at academic institutions pursue knowledge and engage in open discourse. While at times the topics discussed may be sensitive, a university environment is a venue for such dialogue and debate.”

Poole was teaching a lesson from a textbook titled Intercultural Communication: A Contextual Approach, 5th Edition. The lesson synopsis was obtained by Fox News. It reads, “Have the students write the name JESUS in big letters on a piece of paper Ask the students to stand up and put the paper on the floor in front of them with the name facing up. Ask the students to think about it for a moment. After a brief period of silence instruct them to step on the paper. Most will hesitate. Ask why they can’t step on the paper. Discuss the importance of symbols in culture.”

This is typical of the “tolerance” and “diversity” crowd, who expect you to bend over backwards to accommodate any half-baked belief they come up with but who seethe with hatred for Christianity or conservatism in any form.

This is not the first time the Palm Beach Democrats have made the news with this type of anti-religious bile. The former chairman of the Palm Beach Democratic Party was forced to resign in September after shooting his mouth off at the Democratic National Convention.

Mark Seigel, the chairman at the time, told an interviewer that Christians who supported Israel really just wanted to see Jews killed: “Oh no, the Christians just want us to be there so we can all be slaughtered and converted and bring on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.”

Two months earlier, Palm Beach Democratic Executive Committee member Evelyn Garcia quit her post after she sent an e-mail ripping into Israel.

“By supporting Israeli occupation with U.S. foreign aid, we are all complicit and guilty of their crimes against humanity,” she wrote. “And, I deeply resent U.S. taxpayer funds being used to continue Israeli aggression (yes, confiscating other peoples’ land and building illegal settlements is aggression), not to mention ‘incursions’ that kill PEOPLE, destroy civilian homes and infrastructure all over, mass concentration prison camps, etc, etc, etc.”

Isn’t it odd how people who want to force “diversity” and “tolerance” on others seem almost always to turn out to be some of the least tolerant people around?
