Chicago has been run by Democrats since the early 1900s. The Windy City also has a history of corrupt politics that date back to the early 1900s. Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was a typical Chicago Democrat who was convicted for trying the sell the senate seat vacated when Barack Obama won the 2008 election. Former Rep Jesse Jackson Jr. is another prime example of a Chicago Democrat who pled guilty to felony charges of misusing campaign funds, wire and mail fraud. And let’s not forget to include the most corrupt and crooked Chicago Democrat of all, Barack Obama who is guilty of dozens of felony offenses, the worst of which is treason against the United States.
Knowing the troubled and corrupt leadership of Chicago, it should be no surprise that the Chicago public school system is also rife with trouble that casts a doubtful outlook for the district’s future.
To start with, the socialist influence of Chicago Democrats, as clearly displayed in Obama’s political agenda, has thoroughly infiltrated Chicago’s schools. In November 2012, many of Chicago’s teachers attended the Midwest Marxism Conference held at Northwestern University in Chicago. One of the speakers at the conference was Jesse Sharkey, Vice President of the Chicago Teachers Union. He told the audience:
“The struggle here in the United States has entered a new phase. Nowhere have we pointed the way forward more clearly than here in Chicago with the teacher’s union strike.”
Topics at the Marxist conference were:
- Marxism, Crisis & Resistance
- The Meaning of Marxism
- The Flint Sit-down Strikes & The Founding of the UAW
- From Apartheid Schools to the New Jim Crow: Racism, USA
- The Democrats: A Critical History
- Russia: A Case Study in Workers Power & Revolution
- Socialists & Trade Unions
- Class, Race & the Civil Rights movement
- Education & Capitalism
- Lenin’s Theory of the Revolutionary Party
- Marxism & Women’s Liberation
- Whose City? Labor, the 1%, and the Democratic Party Machine in Chicago
- Imperialism: Why Capitalism Creates War
- Detroit, I Do Mind Dying
In May 2013, the Democratic Socialists of America held their 55th Annual Debs-Thomas-Harrington Dinner in Chicago. They paid honor and tribute to the Chicago Teachers Union for going on strike for 10 days back in September 2012.
With Obama’s history of Marxism and socialism, it only makes sense that socialist and Marxist organizations focus their attention on Chicago and their public school system.
Ironically, the Chicago public schools are seriously floundering under their Democratic and socialist leadership. They have a high crime rate in many schools along with dismal academic success. They also seem to be running the school’s finances much like Obama’s socialist policies are running the country’s finances.
If you recall, America’s credit rating was lowered for the first time in history under Obama’s rein and the Chicago Board of Education has just taken a huge hit on their credit rating. Ritch Ratings just lowered the Windy City schools’ credit rating by three notches, dropping them to BBB-minus, which is their lowest rating possible.
According to The Bond Buyer, a Ritch analyst explained the reason for the drop in credit rating:
“The downgrade reflects the limited progress the Chicago Public Schools has made in addressing a structural budget gap approximating 20% of spending for the upcoming fiscal year. Following substantial drawdowns in the prior and current fiscal years, reserves will likely to be fully depleted by the end of fiscal 2016.”
Excessive spending sound familiar? That’s the Democratic socialist way of running an economy. They spend far more than they can afford, blame everyone else for the problems and then do their best to steal from the people to pay for more spending.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Chicago, their schools and our nation all seem to be experiencing the same economic problems. They’re all run by politicians from the same area and same socialist school of thought.
What’s sad is that so many Americans have been so dumbed down by the same corrupted education system and socialist loving media that they don’t see or understand what’s really happening. Just as sad is that the politicians that do see what’s happening aren’t willing to do whatever it takes to stop the trend.
