DID DOLLY PARTON INSULT HER FAN BASE AT THE EMMYS?


This year’s Emmy Awards was a Dump on Trump Hate Fest. At least that’s what I’ve been told. I’ve never watched the Emmys. Here’s a summary of the evening’s anti-Trump show:

The 2017 Emmys certainly lived up to its billing as being the most politically charged ever.

Within seconds, host Stephen Colbert, singing an opening number themed around how seemingly out of control world events are, took a few soft jabs at President Trump. But then Julia-Louis Dreyfus quickly upped the ante, joining in and singing, “Imagine if your president wasn’t loved by Nazis.”

Once the monologue actually began, Colbert dedicated almost five minutes to mocking Trump.

The stage thus set, politics pervaded almost the entirety of the broadcast.

With virtually every presenter or award recipient working in at least one political reference, those who avoided politics were more notable than those who didn’t. (Grabien)

The anti-Trump screeds went on and on. Dolly Parton appeared with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, their first reunion since their 9 to 5 film in 1980. Here’s how it went:

9 to 5 stars Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Dolly Parton reunited on stage to announce the winner of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series at the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards — and take a shot at President Donald Trump.
