Donald Sterling v. Magic Johnson: The NBA’s Hypocrisy

So far, I’ve remained silent about the whole Donald Sterling issue but the hypocrisy of the NBA has gotten me so riled that I have to say something now.

First of all, I don’t condone his racist views, but what about the First Amendment rights to free speech? Just listen to the racist comments that come out of the mouth of President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and Al Sharpton. Their statements were made publicly for all to hear and no one – NO ONE – did a thing about it.

Sterling’s comment was made in private and his girlfriend’s recording without his knowledge was a violation of California law. If anything, she should be the one prosecuted for her illegal actions.

I have a huge problem with the NBA’s decision to ban Sterling from the NBA for life and force him to sell his own personal business. What happened to America’s free enterprise system? The NBA condemned Sterling for his personal views and statement but they never did say nor do anything against Magic Johnson for his flagrant adultery and fornication.

When Magic Johnson announced that he had AIDs, he also proudly announced that he had sex with over 2,000 different women. Is that the image that the NBA wants kids to emulate and set up as their hero? By not condemning Johnson’s promiscuous lifestyle, the NBA is actually approving of his debauched lifestyle. Instead, they continued to honor Johnson and eventually allowed him to be co-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers for several years. Johnson is also a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Sparks.

I’ve been a fan of the Phoenix Suns NBA team since their first season in 1968. However, due to the NBA’s hypocrisy in how they endorsed Magic Johnson’s sexually explicit lifestyle and then took such drastic actions against Donald Sterling for something he said in private and was illegally recorded and released to the public has caused me to never watch an NBA game again and I advise every other conservative and Christian to do the same.

Just a side note, I also find the Obamacare commercials featuring Magic Johnson equally repulsive because of his boastful lifestyle. When I seen him promoting Obamacare, I hear him saying that look, he had unprotected sex with over 2,000 women and he got AIDS because of it and if you sign up for Obamacare, you can get free contraception so you can do what he did and not catch AIDS. It’s not surprising that President Obama would continue to glorify Johnson and his perverted ways. They fit right in with Obama’s endorsement of other perverted lifestyles including same-sex marriage, homosexuality and abortion.
