Employer Hiring 101 New Employees Every Day

The job market has been less than stellar over the past four years.  In fact, under President Barack Obama, we have seen record setting unemployment figures.  I’ve seen figures that put the number of unemployed workers to around 23-26 million, but it’s actually higher if you count all those that have given up and quit looking for jobs.

But there is one employer that has been on a hiring boon for the past four years.  From the day Obama was sworn into the White House this employer has been hiring an average of 101 new employees each and every day.  That includes weekends and holidays over the 1,420+ days of Obama’s term.  So far, they’ve hired 143,000 new employees and there is no sign that this will change any time soon.

The name of the employer?

The United States Federal Government!

The federal workforce has now topped 2.2 million employees with an annual cost of $236 billion.  By way, did you know that the average income in the private sector is $52,000 a year.  The average income for a federal employee is $84,000, a difference of $32,000.  As federal employees, they also have better benefits than the average private sector worker.

Republicans have asked for a 10% reduction in the federal workforce, but Obama has always been about BIG government, so the chance of seeing a reduction is about as likely as us seeing Obama’s original birth certificate.  So big government will continue to hire a hundred plus new employees every day from now until who knows when and you and I will continue to pay them their exorbitant wages and benefits as we struggle to pay our own way.
