Gabby Giffords’ Hubby’s Pro-Gun Anti-Gun Hypocrisy

On January 8, 2001, US Rep. Gabrielle (Gabby) Giffords held a public meeting with some of her constituents in front of a Safeway grocery store in Tucson, AZ.  At ten minutes after ten in the morning, Jared Lee Loughner opened fire on the crowd, specifically aiming and shooting Giffords in the head.  When all of the shooting was over, eighteen people had been shot.  Six either died at the scene or at the hospital, including nine year old Christina Taylor-Green and Arizona District Court Chief Judge John Roll.

Giffords miraculously survived being shot in the brain, however it eventually led her to resign from the US House of Representatives.  Since that time, both Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly, retired Navy Captain and astronaut have both come out publicly in favor of gun ownership and the Second Amendment.  They both own guns that they use for self-defense, hunting and target shooting.

However, Kelly has recently spoken out in favor of the assault-style weapons ban as seen in the video below:

Even though Kelly spoke out against assault-style weapons, he went to Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson where he purchased a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol and an AR-15.  Like so many liberal Democrats who are known to own guns, Kelly must believe that it’s not okay for all of us to purchase or own an AR-15, but it’s okay for him to do so.

Word of his purchase soon leaked out to the media and now Kelly posted on his Facebook page that he does not plan to keep the AR-15 and the store has confirmed that it has yet to be picked up.  One can only surmise that he would have picked up the assault-style rifle and keep it if news of his purchase had been made public.

Mark Kelly is trying to come across as a descent patriotic American who loves and served his country, when in reality, he is nothing more than a typical Democrat full of hypocrisy, lies and deceit.  This makes me wonder when he’ll decide to run for office and join the rest of lying, deceiving and hypocritical Democrats.
