I’m not a financial advisor but if I was I would be advising people to invest in firearm manufacturers like Colt and Smith & Wesson. Each of the last several years, gun and ammunition sales in the US have set records. 2011’s record sales were topped in 2012 and that record was topped in 2013.
Smith & Wesson reported that their sales at the end of 2013 had increased by at least a third. It already looks like 2014 will shatter last year’s record sales. Colt Manufacturing is reporting that their handgun sales are 12 times higher than for the same period last year. One report said that Colt’s handgun sales in the first 5 months of this year equal their handgun sales for all of 2013. In response to the high demand, Colt has announced that they are increasing their production of handguns by 50%.
Colt just introduced a new small frame handgun, the .380 Mustang. The number of women purchasing small frame handguns is a large part of the booming business and Colt hopes that the Mustang will be a successful alternative to the lightweight Glock pistols. The .380 Mustang has a 2 ¾ inch barrel, overall length of only 5 ½ inches, weighs 12 ounces and holds 6 rounds in the magazine. The Mustang can easily be carried in a pocket or purse.
Ben Shim, NRA Instructor and Gun Industry Analyst for CRT Capital commented about the Colt .380 Mustang and other small frame handguns, saying:
“These are pistols that you can literally put in your pocket and they won’t bulge out or make your pants drop. If someone jumps you, you can shoot through your coat pocket.”
Carrying these small frame handguns is also becoming very popular as the number of conceal carry permits nationwide have increased by 30% between 2010 and 2012. During that time frame, 9 million permit applications have been processed.
Scott Johnston, General Manager of Liberty Guns in Acworth, Georgia just told me:
“Our current handgun sales are up about 40% over last year. A large portion of the increase is women wanting to arm and protect themselves. Certain handguns such as the new Glock 42 and the S&W M&P Shield are difficult to keep in stock as well as .380 auto ammunition.”
There is a growing number of smaller, easy to carry handguns on the market and they have become so popular that stores have a hard time getting them from the manufacture. When they do get them in stock, they generally don’t sit in the display case very long.
I asked Scott about the Colt .380 Mustang and he told me:
“We can get them but typically do not stock them. The Sig Sauer P238 is essentially the same pistol, it is a few ounces heavier which actually is better for women as it cuts down on the felt recoil. It is also a better built pistol in my opinion. We keep them in stock when we can get them.”
More Americans than ever are buying handguns for self-protection against criminals and against the government. Record numbers of women are buying handguns and obtaining conceal carry permits so they can better protect themselves. More criminals are bound to be shot in the act, which is a good thing as it might make some of them decide it’s not such a good idea after all.
That’s just what Barack Obama and Michael Bloomberg don’t want to hear. They don’t want Americans to be able to defend themselves against attackers, rapists and home intruders. They want to give criminals free reign to terrorize the American people to their evil hearts’ content. They also want Americans to be unarmed so they can enslave them under their dictatorial rule.
However, with millions more Americans arming themselves, it’s going to be a lot harder to conquer us than they hoped. All I can say is keep buying guns and ammo for your own protection against criminals and the government. If you are looking for a great place to shop for them can be found at Liberty Guns.
