With the help of Bill Ayers, Barack Hussein Obama attended the Harvard Law School where he graduated with his degree in law in 1991. While attending Harvard, he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review in 1990, making him the first black to hold that title.
Like many students in various universities, Obama had a faculty mentor. In fact Michelle LaVaughn Robinson had the same faculty mentor, Charles Ogletree. As mentor, Ogletree coached and encouraged both Obama and Robinson, helping both of them obtain their Juris Doctorate degrees. After graduating, Obama and Ogletree have been close friends. A year later, Obama and Robinson married.
Twenty-one years later, Ogletree is paying homage to his prize student by offering a for credit class on Obama in the spring of 2013. The Harvard Law School Course Catalog describes the class as,
“This reading group will focus on the way in which race, religion, and politics have impacted the development of President Obama as a leader. We will explore his views as a biracial child, his time as a student at Harvard Law School, the successes and failures of his political campaigns, and the way religion and his views on faith nearly derailed his campaign. Finally, time will be spent analyzing the challenges he faces as president of the United States in establishing both his domestic and global policies.”
Ogletree claims that his friendship with the president will have no bearing upon the class, even though he makes no secret that he is a big fan of Obama. However, one student said that knowing Ogletree and his worship of Barack Obama makes him believe that the class will be more like an Obama fan club than a real college course.
As I was reading this, I couldn’t help but wonder if it wasn’t some sort of payback for Obama getting US Attorney General Eric Holder to hire Ogletree’s daughter Rashida, as she now works for the Department of Justice. I also wonder if Ogletree will discuss his own involvement with advising Obama on a number of issues and policies.
Somehow I seriously doubt that Ogletree will teach his students the true aspects of Obama’s presidency such as the question of his eligibility to hold the office, his open defiance of the US Constitution and numerous federal laws. Will he teach them about how he has been stripping American’s of their rights and setting up laws and executive orders that give him the legal right to declare martial law and seize control of the government?
At a yearly cost of $48,786 to attend Harvard Law School, it seems an awfully steep price to pay to be part of an Obama fan club that will only teach a sanitized history of the most corrupt president in US history.
