IRS Hired Company to Back Up Computers until Lerner’s Convenient Crash

If you have ever had any dealings with a liar, you will quickly find that one lie leads to another until they become trapped by their lies. It’s the truth behind the old rhyme ‘oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.’

Such is the case with the IRS and Lois Lerner’s emails. A couple of weeks ago, IRS officials told a Congressional committee that Lois Lerner’s computer crashed and they cannot recover any of her emails prior to 2011.

Lerner is the central scapegoat that the Obama administration is sacrificing in hopes of making the IRS targeting scandal go away. The White House orchestrated the targeting of conservatives, Christians, Jews, patriots and GOP supporters. Former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman was by far the most frequent Cabinet member that visited the White House prior to the scandal being made public.

The revelation that Lerner’s critical emails have been lost forever due a computer crash, caused many critics to yell foul and recall the missing 18 minutes of Nixon’s Watergate tape. Gary DeMar commented about the lost emails saying:

“So what should we think of thousands of missing emails about one of the greatest political scandals of the 21st century to which Watergate pales in comparison? Remember, this is the IRS, one of the most feared government agencies targeting political opponents. These are Stalinist tactics.”

“The GOP needs to keep pressing until they get answers. Don’t wimp out now. File criminal charges. Do the right thing so we’ll have a reason to vote for you. Also, pass the Fair Tax so the IRS can be shut down.”

DeMar wrote this before learning that the convenient timing of the lost emails is even more spurious than before. It seems that the IRS had contracted with a company called Sonasoft to back up their computers. In 2009, Sonasoft tweeted:

“If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose them to protect your severs? http://www.sonasoft.com

However, according to one report, the IRS just happened to cancel their contract with Sonasoft right after the IRS scandal became public and an investigation began. In the short time between the cancellation of the contract and the investigation leading to Lois Lerner, her computer, of all the IRS computers just happened to crash. The crash was so severe that experts say they cannot recover any of the key emails.

How miraculously fortuitous for Lerner and her supervisors in the IRS. I wonder what the IRS would say if I told them that all of my financial records were lost when my computer crashed just after I got their audit notice and just after I cancelled my contract with Carbonite to back up my computer. Would they allow me to use their excuse to avoid the audit? Somehow I don’t think so.

If you believe that Lerner’s computer accidentally crashed right after cancelling the contract with Sonasoft and after she became the target of the investigation, then I have a bridge and other wonderful things to sell you.
