Joe Biden is a Bully When It Comes to Free Speech

The Left is always talking about bullying. Hollywood stars come out denouncing bullying of young people because of their sexual choices. But if you’re a liberal, bullying is part of the program. To be a liberal is to be a bully. The Vice-President proved this when a reporter asked Biden about his rape comments. You know, the claim that if President Obama’s tax-increase bill, touted as a “jobs bill,” does not pass there will be more murders and rapes.

Jason Mattera is a conservative who works for Human Events. Asking for a picture with Vice-President Biden, Mattera used the opportunity to ask him about his controversial rape statement. Biden was not amused, so he resorted to bullying. The video of the exchange between Biden and Mattera, where Biden told the young reporter, “Don’t screw around with me,” went viral.

Here’s how the exchange went on the “rape” language question asked by Mattera:

Biden: “I didn’t use … no, no, no. Let’s get it straight, guy. Don’t screw around with me. Let’s get it straight.”

Mattera: “You didn’t use a rape reference?”

Biden: “I said rape was up three times in Flint. Those are the numbers. Go look at the numbers. Murder is up; rape is up; burglary is up. That’s what I said.”

You can see the exchange here:

Biden did make the claim that there is a correlation between less government spending on police and rape and murder. “Murder will continue to rise; rape will continue to rise; all crime will continue to rise,” Biden said, according to CNN. Biden committed the classic post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy: After this (decreased funding for police and teachers), therefore because of this (there are more rapes and murders). Actually, the facts do not support Biden’s claim, but I’ll let the statisticians fight it out.

Now Biden, who has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution, and that includes the First Amendment, is inquiring to see if Mattera can be banned from the gallery of reporters who cover the White House.
