The co-founder of the Weather Channel, John Coleman, has publicly challenged the world’s meteorologists and other scientists by writing an open letter to UCLA stating that the concept of man-made global warming is false.
They’re probably going to ignore him.
“There is no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has been none in the past and there is no reason to fear any in the future,” Coleman wrote on the Real Science blog.
Coleman’s letter addressed officials in charge of today’s UCLA Hammer Forum on Climate Change, noting that “you have scheduled as your only speakers two people who continue to present the failed science as though it is the final and complete story on global warming/climate change. This is major mistake.”
Even though he is a respected, fully trained meteorologist who has been honored for his work as a broadcast meteorologist, Coleman, along with anybody else who goes against the global warming campaign, gets dismissed by the proponents of government intervention in the Earth’s climate.
Underscoring this fact, there is a footnote at the end of Coleman’s letter stating that a copy was sent to the Los Angeles Times, KCBS/KTLA and NBC4 Los Angeles, none of which as of this writing seem to have produced a story on Coleman’s assertions.
That’s typical of the almost fanatical believers in global warming, who no matter how many times their fraudulent science is disproved and their faulty logic revealed will never give up the idea that we must — MUST! — drastically change our ways or risk … whatever.
Actually, the list of supposed consequences of global warming is irrelevant because every major prediction made based on global warming models has failed to come true.
“The ocean is not rising significantly,” Coleman wrote. “The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number. Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing). I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid.”
But none of that stops the clamoring for “solutions” for the fictive problem of the Earth turning into a sweltering cinder. Most of those solutions involve taxing the hell out of people; herding human beings into higher- and higher-density housing; limiting or banning the raising of cattle and other meat and dairy animals; eliminating entire industries and government-sponsoring more inefficient “green” ones; jacking up the price of power; and even decreasing the population through eugenics disguised as abortion clinics, “right-to-die” laws and rationing of medical care for the elderly.
In short, the political solution for global warming is global fascism.
Even more frightening — if that’s possible — are the proposed “scientific” solutions that fall under the umbrella of geoengineering. These are ideas like pumping sulphate particles into the upper atmosphere, “whitening” clouds and surrounding the Earth with reflective mirrors. Sound strange? Yet these ideas are being seriously proposed in some scientific corners, again by the warmistas’ “reputable scientists,” which means any scientist who goes along with the program and hopes for continued funding.
As weird as these ideas sound, they’re even more dangerous than the worst imaginings of global warming alarmists. Just contemplate what would happen if some university science project were to succeed in even partially blocking out the sun using some method that could not be easily reversed. To combat a fictional warming, these scientists want to risk plunging the world into a new ice age.
The warmistas insist that the debate is over because they know they’d lose any real debate. That insistence is just warming alarmists putting their fingers in their ears and saying, “I can’t hear you!”
But beyond the logic and science of climate change panic, the one issue the warmistas will absolutely never discuss is the elephant in the room: What, pray tell, is the “correct” temperature for the Earth?
Even the crickets shut up for that one. As the Earth has been both warmer and cooler in the past and we’re still here, there is no correct answer, at least none that any sane person would put forth.
