Barack HUSSEIN Obama continues to wage war on Christianity although he still professes to be a Christian.
On September 30, 2011, the Pentagon issued a directive to all military chaplains to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies and to make military chapels available for any such private ceremonies.
In response to the Pentagon directive, the Catholic Archdiocese for Military Service issued a statement that no Catholic chaplains serving in the military will perform or participate in any same-sex marriage ceremonies at any military chapels. In conjunction with the Catholic response, members of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty have issued a statement indicating that they will also not participate in performing same-sex ceremonies.
In 2012, the Catholic Church issued an official order concerning the Church’s stand on Obama’s contraception mandate. They issued a letter that was sent out to all Catholic institutions and church leaders, including military chaplains. The letter stated that the Church cannot and will not comply with the mandate which they strongly believed was an unjust law.
The Army immediately issued orders to all chaplains, especially Catholic chaplains that they are not allowed to read the letter in its entirety and that certain portions of it are to be blacked out and not read aloud. Former Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt said,
“The secretary of the Army said you have to line out some of the language, or else we’re going to charge the chaplains with sedition and treason for opposing the Obama administration. Can you believe this? They are actually threatening chaplains with court-martial if they dare to preach against sin in their own church.”
During the infamous Sequestration of 2013, the Obama administration issued an order banning contract military chaplains, mostly Catholic, from performing mass, weddings, baptism or any other sacrament on military property. If they were caught performing any of these acts, even on a volunteer basis, they are subject to arrest.
US military personnel serving abroad have been banned from any open displays of their Christianity, but the same ban has never been applied to Muslim members of the military.
In the latest round of Obama’s Christian persecution, the US Navy has relieved a highly decorated and high ranking chaplain for performing his Christian duties. Lt. Commander Wes Modder has been in the Navy for 19 years. He is endorsed by the Assemblies of God denomination and was serving as the chaplain at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command at Goose Creek, South Carolina. Before becoming a Navy chaplain, Modder was in the Marine Corp where he was the Force Chaplain of the Navy SEALS who were part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Naval Warfare Command. Throughout his years of service, Modder has been highly decorated and received a number of commendations.
Last month, Lt. Commander Modder received a ‘detachment of cause’ letter, stating that he was unable to ‘function in the diverse and pluralistic environment,’ of the US military. According to Michael Berry, a veteran and Modder’s attorney, the chaplain is being punished for exercising his Christian faith when dealing in private counseling sessions involving issues of faith, marriage, premarital sex and homosexuality.
Modder will go before a Navy board on inquiry. It’s possible that they could force Modder to resign or forcibly discharge him because of his Christian faith. If that happens, Modder will be denied his military retirement benefits which he will be eligible for in less than a year. The timing seems highly suspicious and possibly intended to rob a patriotic member of our military from his well-earned reward for serving his country solely because he also chose to serve his God.
But would we expect anything different from a Muslim leader?
