Navy Yard Shooting is a Gun Control Dream

The bodies weren’t even cold and liberals were already tweeting their gun control fantasies, including snarky comments aimed at anyone who isn’t deathly afraid of guns.

It apparently is either escaping liberals’ notice that the latest mass shooting occurred at a military facility or it’s being seen as the opportunity of a lifetime. Just think of the possibilities for gun control in the military.

“The Fonz,” Henry Winkler, wasted no time tweeting, “ANOTHER shooting in WASH D.C. PLEASE America do nothing to promote gun control .because thats how we roll until we have all shot each other.”

Liberal commentator David Frum summoned all the intimidating force of his Australopithecan intellect to tweet a sarcastic set of “rules” (just standard liberal talking points) to avoid hurting the feelings of gun owners while covering the shooting story.

President Obama condemned the “cowardly act” of the shooter — who is giving the White House a reprieve from dealing with the fallout of Obama’s cowardly acts in Syria.

CNN anchor Carol Costello tried to give audiences the impression that something like this has never happened — conveniently forgetting the Ft. Hood massacre: “I used to work in Washington, live in Washington. This seems so unusual to me that a gunman could create this kind of havoc at a U.S. military facility. Have you ever heard of it happening before, Brian?”

As of this writing, the dead shooter has been identified as Aaron Alexis, a civilian military contractor who recently began working at the Navy facility.

At this time, officials are saying that security tapes may show the shooter entered the building with a shotgun — you know, like Joe Biden advises women to own to scare away burglars. Initial review of those tapes suggest that the shooter may have shot one guard, taken his pistol, then shot another guard and taken his rifle.

Clearly, my liberal friends, we must disarm all security guards immediately lest they be shot and have their weapons taken, which only further arms crazy people. (Note to the NSA members of my audience: Please forward the preceding sentence with my name and copyright notice to Media Matters, Huffington Post and Talking Points Memo with the proviso that I get a dollar every time a liberal uses it. Thanks.)

There has been no discussion of possible motive, unless you count possession by the evil spirit of the NRA and the pernicious influence of the Second Amendment, both of which we will hear more about in coming days.
