President Obama spoke for the folks at Planned Parenthood yesterday. He attacked people who believe that killing pre-born babies is a moral evil and supported an organization that has no problem with 1.5 million pre-born babies killed every year in the United States. Here’s part of what he said:
“The fact is, after decades of progress, there’s still those who want to turn back the clock to policies more suited to the 1950s than the 21st century. And they’ve been involved in an orchestrated and historic effort to roll back basic rights when it comes to women’s health.”
How is killing pre-born babies a woman’s health issue and a basic right? Since half of all babies born are female, it seems that legalized abortion is the one practice that denies more women their rights than any other law. These female babies are being killed by their own mothers!
Who could have ever imagined that a president of the United States would praise killing pre-born babies?
Not everything about the 1950s was bad. The biggest legitimate criticism of the 1950s was racial discrimination, segregation, and Jim Crow laws. Some blacks were discriminated against and killed because of their race. President Obama does not see the connection to abortion. The innocent party, the baby in the womb, is being killed. He’s not any different from a segregationist or someone watching a lynching. He devalues life like they did. And the fact that a higher percentage of black babies are aborted makes his support of abortion even more evil. And 95 percent of blacks voted for him.
Abortion was illegal in the 1950s. Yes, some women died trying to kill their babies by going to so-called back alley abortionists, although the number of deaths has been greatly exaggerated by pro-abortion advocates. (Women still kill their children, and women still die from legal abortions.) Former abortion doctor Bernard Nathanson wrote the following in his book Aborting America (1979):
“In NARAL [National Abortion Rights Action League] we generally emphasized the drama of the individual case, not the mass statistics, but when we spoke of the latter it was always ‘5,000 to 10,000 deaths a year.’ I confess that I knew the figures were totally false, and I suppose the others did too if they stopped to think of it. But in the ‘morality’ of our revolution, it was a useful figure, widely accepted, so why go out of our way to correct it with honest statistics?”
The few hundred deaths were tragic, so we should have legalized abortion so 1.5 million pre-born babies could be killed?
Consider how many children in the 1950s weren’t killed by their mothers and whose lives have transformed ours. For example, Steve Jobs, who was born in 1955 and was adopted at birth by Paul Reinhold Jobs and Clara Jobs.
While the President was extolling the bloody business of Planned Parenthood, a trial was going on in Philadelphia where abortion “doctor” Kermit Gosnell is accused of killing full term post-aborted babies. This isn’t the first time that Gosnell has had his elbows deep in blood. There was the 1972 “Mother’s Day Massacre.”
Obama talks about “protecting our children” from gun violence, but he doesn’t have anything to say about protecting children from the nation’s legal abortionists. More children are killed every day by abortion than Adam Lanza killed — one hundred times as many.
President Obama had the audacity to end his speech with “God bless you.” He should have used a line from his former pastor, Jeremiah Wright: “God damn you.”
