The emperor is back in town. Rep. Brad Sherman said after a meeting at the White House this week that President Obama is prepared to go “beyond what’s allowed by law” in pushing through the Iran nuclear deal.
It wouldn’t be the first time His Royal Highness used Congress like a two-bit harlot to get whatever he wants, and it wouldn’t be the first time Congress just acquiesced.
But it’s just become embarrassing how bad a deal John Kerry and crew have crafted, with secret international side deals and the Iranian Ayatollah tweeting pictures of Obama committing suicide with a gun.
Despite these problems and further revelations about the many openings for Iran to abuse the treaty, no one seems willing or able to stop this disaster-in-the-making.
According to Sherman, Obama intends to bend or even break the law should Congress work up the nerve to oppose the Iran deal.
“The main meat of what he said is, ‘If Congress overrides my veto, you do not get a U.S. foreign policy that reflects that vote. What you get is you pass this law and I, as president, will do everything possible to go in the other direction,'” Sherman said.
In other words, Congress? What’s a Congress?
The constitutional provision about “advice and consent” was already nullified anyway when the Obama Administration ran to the United Nations Security Council the moment it got the Iran treaty signed. The internationalists have already given the treaty the thumbs-up, so as far as the Emperor is concerned, it’s a done deal, the only thing left is to put John Kerry’s address label on the Nobel Peace Prize and remember to note the tracking number.
With the countdown clock ticking on Obama’s last term, the president is obviously not content to let himself be consigned to the lame duck status of previous presidents. By ignoring the law, Obama believes he has found his ticket to lasting accolades, which is ultimately what he craves to soothe his narcissistic soul.
During his trip to Kenya, Obama “joked” that he could win a third term, if only the law allowed him to run.
Obama obviously has no intention of respecting any law that gets in his way, so you have to wonder why would he be stopped by a piddling little thing like a constitutional Amendment preventing a third term?
And since nobody seems to be inclined or capable of stopping him, the question becomes, how far is he willing to go in his 18-month Countdown to Infamy?
