The Keystone XL Pipeline would transport crude oil from the rich Canadian oil fields to refineries on the Gulf coast. The pipeline project would create up to 40,000 new jobs. It would also be a huge step to the goal of making America energy independent. Even the labor unions, which are strongly Democratic support the Keystone XL Pipeline project because of all of the union jobs it would create.
A number of polls, including one conducted by the liberal media giant CNN, showed that 57% of the American people favored the Keystone XL Pipeline project while only 28% opposed it. When the CNN poll was examined, it was found that the following demographics – age, region, gender, income and education – all indicated they significantly favored the pipeline. The ones to oppose the pipeline were Democrats and liberals.
Yet Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats have fought the pipeline project claiming that poses risks to the environment and they would rather spend billions of dollars on expensive green than on increasing our supplies of fossil fuels.
However, Republicans see the Keystone XL Pipeline as a job creator and helping to gain our energy independence, so they have tried numerous times to pass a bill to approve and fund the project. When the Democrats still controlled the Senate, they repeatedly blocked the passage the bill. Now that Republicans have control, a bill was passed and sent to Obama to sign.
To no surprise to anyone, our Muslim leader cares nothing about creating jobs or striving towards energy independence as he used his veto for only the third time since occupying the White House in January 2009. Obama has argued that the thousands of jobs created by the pipeline would only be temporary jobs. But many of the jobs created by Obama’s infamous 2009 Stimulus package were also temporary, so his argument becomes a matter of hypocrisy.
As for federal funding for the pipeline, it would be minimal at best since the companies involved would be providing the bulk of funding. In the 2009 Stimulus plan, Obama’s government funded most of the temporary jobs that were created and even paid for many that never materialized.
At the beginning of the political approval process, Obama said he opposed the pipeline for environmental reasons. Now he is saying that he wants to wait for the State Department’s report since it involves international relations with Canada. I wonder what excuse he’ll use once the State Department completes their report? I also suspect that report will be negative since the State Department is run by a loyal Obama puppet who runs around the world screaming out that the globe is warming, the globe warming.
The bottom line is that Obama cares nothing about creating jobs for the American people. The only jobs he’s working on creating are those that will be stripped from Americans and given to his millions of illegals. Obama also cares nothing about making America energy independent. He prefers to keep our nation dependent upon foreign oil controlled by his Muslim buddies in the Middle East. He would also prefer to waste billions of taxpayer dollars on green energy projects, most of which are destined to fail like the majority of the previous ones he’s thrown our money at.
This also helps support the recent comment made by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani who said that Obama is not patriotic and cares little for America.
