President Barack Obama first created the Sequestration in an attempt to blackmail Republicans to compromise on his budget cut plans. Republicans refused to compromise, Obama then turned the blame of Sequestration on to the GOP instead of its creator – him. When it came time for Sequestration to take effect this year, Obama again pointed the finger of blame at Republicans, telling the nation that this would cause deep financial crisis.
What you may not know is that the final act to launch the Sequestration rested on Obama’s desk in the Oval Office. He had the option not to sign it and prevent it from taking effect, but he was determined to make the GOP look as bad as possible so he readily signed it into action.
Once the Sequestration went into effect in March, it’s been obvious that the Obama administration has done everything possible to force it to hurt people. Instead of cutting mundane programs and things like foreign aid to countries that hate us and want to destroy us, they cut White House tours, a number of benefits for our active military, and are forcing furloughs of key federal employees like Border Patrol and Customs Agents.
We’ve seen how concerned Obama has been about making sacrificing budget cuts of his own by his young teenage daughters spending spring break in Mexico and the ski slopes of Colorado. Obama has continued to host a number of gala events at the White House, many of which were un-necessary.
In his latest move to make the Sequestration as painful as possible, a number of civilian caregivers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland are being forced to take 11 unpaid furlough days off. Beginning in July, these people who are tending to our wounded military heroes will be forced to take one unpaid day off every week for 11 weeks. That’s a mandated 20% cut in pay for over 2 ½ months.
In today’s struggling economy, how many of you could afford to take a 20% cut in pay for almost 3 months?
But that’s not the worst of it. Our wounded military men and women that sacrificed limbs and other bodily injuries serving our country will also be subject to 20% less care and therapy than they are entitled too. Obama isn’t just hurting the civilian workers, he’s hurting our wounded warriors as well. His actions speak volumes at how little he cares for our military men and women. President Obama has the compassion of a bucket of mud.
How much more despising and hurting will our military men and women take before they’ve had enough? He’s cut their training budgets, cut their educational benefits, cut retirement benefits and cut their freedom of religion, if they are Christian that is. Now he’s taking some of the needed care away from their wounded. When will enough be enough?
