Glenn Beck appeared at the rally to stop the Iran Nuclear Deal in Washington, D.C on Wednesday. Also there were Ted Cruz, Mark Levin and many others… including Donald Trump and his new bestie Sarah Palin. It was that final pairing that Beck took issue with on his show on Thursday.
Beck was talking about an interview he did with CNN’s Don Lemon when the topic of Sarah Palin came up and Beck seemingly unloaded with a lot of pent-up frustration. The popular conservative radio host told his audience that he was embarrassed for ever having supported Sarah Palin and that she had become a clown, in large part due to her unwavering support of Donald Trump (who many conservatives point out is not actually a conservative).
“Don Lemon brings up Sarah Palin. I didn’t listen to her speech. Yeah, I’m going to say it. I don’t care what Sarah Palin says any more. Sarah Palin has become a clown. I’m embarrassed that I was once for Sarah Palin. Honestly, I’m embarrassed.
Why do I say that about Sarah Palin? How can you say that about Sarah Palin? Because I don’t know who she is any more, I don’t know what she stands for. I saw a clip of her talking to Donald Trump. What the hell is that? I don’t even know who she is any more. I don’t know what she cares for. I don’t know. She doesn’t know what I stand for. We had a falling out long ago because she listened to people who were lying to her about me. Fine. Don’t care. I don’t care,” Beck concluded.
What do you think? Was Beck out of line on this? Will an opinion like this end up hurting Beck in the end? Or has Sarah Palin gone too far in her full-throated support of Donald Trump?
Beck has now apologized for calling Sarah Palin “a clown.” The conservative radio host does stand by the rest of his commentary on the issue, though.
We all have bad days and bad moments.
Today was one of mine.
I stand by all of my comments on Sarah Palin EXCEPT when I called her a clown. It was unkind, childish and wrong of me to name call…
