The Bible is very clear that God created the earth, universe, life and man in six literal twenty-four hour days a little over 6,000 years ago. Two centuries ago, some naturalists began to try to find ways to disprove the biblical account of creation. All they had to do was to find a way to convince the world to believe in millions of years and the rest of the Genesis account would crumble.
Charles Darwin plagiarized the works of his grandfather, Erasmus Darwin and of Alfred Russel Wallace and published his treatise On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life at the insistence of staunch atheist and hater of the Church, Thomas Huxley. From that point on, evolution has been pushed and pushed hard for sole purpose of undermining the Bible and Christianity.
A century and a half later, Huxley’s efforts are coming to fruition in the United States. Evolution has been taught as fact in public schools for over fifty years. Millions of kids have been relentlessly brainwashed to be believe that evolution is fact and that the biblical account of origins is false, superstition and anyone believing it is uneducated and ignorant.
Their efforts have been paying off as indicated in the latest poll taken by YouGov. Their poll showed that 21% of Americans believe in naturalistic evolution, meaning that God had no part of human origins; 25% believe in theistic evolution, meaning God used evolution to create man; and 37% believe in biblical creation, meaning that God created man less than 10,000 years ago. Seventeen percent of the respondents said they had no idea about human origins.
Combined results indicated that 46% believed in evolution of some form and only 37% believed that God alone was responsible. Biblical creation is losing ground with the general public because of the intentional efforts of evolutionists. I attended the 1998 DinoFest Scientific Symposium in Philadelphia and heard a group of evolutionists tell the audience that they were making a concerted effort to work with Hollywood writers to get evolution into as many television programs and movies as possible. They insisted they have do to whatever they could to counter the efforts of creationists.
I can’t tell you how many students and young adults I’ve talked to and read about that were staunch biblical creationists going into high school and college but ended up as staunch evolutionists coming out. I’ve heard teachers and professors ridicule Christians and refuse to pass students that believed in creationism.
This is proven in the demographic results of the YouGov poll. Only 17% of adults 46-64 years of age believed in godless evolution while 33% of young adults aged 18-29 believe in godless evolution. On the flip side, 43% of adults 30-44 years of age believe in young-earth biblical creation while only 21% of younger adults aged 18-29 believed it.
This is proven in the demographic results of the YouGov poll. The poll showed that twice as many younger adults, aged 18-29 believed in godless evolution with 33%, than adults aged 46-64 with only 17%. On the flip side, twice as many adults aged 30-44 believe in young-earth creationism with 43%, than younger adults aged 18-29 with only 21%.
I make no apology for believing in a young-earth biblical creation. I have a BS degree in wildlife management and an MS degree in biology with my thesis focusing on population genetics. The more I study nature and the world around us, the more I see how impossible it is for evolution to be fact. Evolution defies all of the known physical laws of biology, genetics, information, chemistry, physics, astronomy and geology. Interestingly, I hear of a number of other scientists who are abandoning evolution because they find it impossible and scientifically bankrupt.
When people ask me why I continue to believe in biblical creation when so many others believe in evolution, I always respond telling them that although there were millions of people on the earth, there were only 8 people on the Ark. I also think about Proverbs 4:13-15:
“Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; guard her, for she is your life. Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on.”
And Matthew 7:13-14:
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
