Pro-‘Gay,’ Pro-Abortion Nancy Pelosi Says Rubio is a Bad Catholic

Nancy Pelosi says she is a faithful Roman Catholic. She has said that Marco Rubio is a bad Roman Catholic:

“I thoroughly disagree (with Rubio’s opposition to gay marriage), being raised in a Catholic family, raising a Catholic family, mainstream Catholic – well, the Baltimore Catechism, to get back to our hometown of Baltimore, was what we were raised on. And I think that this statement by Senator Rubio is most unfortunate. It’s a polarizing statement. The fact is, is that what we’re taught was to respect people in our faith and to say that this endangers mainstream Christian thinking is so completely wrong.”

Here are the question and answer to the marriage issue in the Baltimore Catechism:

Q. What is the Sacrament of Matrimony?

A. The Sacrament of Matrimony is the Sacrament which unites a Christian man and woman in lawful marriage.

Being a “mainstream Catholic” when Nancy Pelosi was growing up, the Catholic Church never would have approved of same-sex marriage. It would have been “mainstream Christian” thinking in the 1940s and 1950s (Pelosi was born in 1940) that same-sex sexuality was a sin, and same-sex marriage never would have been considered.

Have you noticed that liberals can appeal to their religious beliefs but conservatives can’t? You never hear liberals say “there’s a separation between church and state” when a fellow-liberal appeals to the Bible.

The Baltimore Catechism is a man-made document that’s supposed to be based on the Bible. In many places it is. Therefore, in order to be a good Christian, the Bible and its commandments must be followed. And what does the Bible say about a person’s confession? It must be backed up by deeds. A tree is known by the fruit it produces (Matt. 7:15-20; 12:33; Luke 6:43-44), and that fruit must be evaluated by God’s Word.

Later in the New Testament, James writes:

“[F]aith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, ‘You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’ You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?” (James 2:17-20)

The works of Nancy Pelosi are “dead.”

There are at least three major commandments that Nancy Pelosi breaks as a political official.

First, sixth commandment: “You shall not murder” (Ex. 20:13). Abortion is murder, and Nancy Pelosi is part of Murder, Inc. Pelosi’s appeal to the Baltimore Catechism is comical since it has a lot to say about the evil of abortion: “Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life.”

Here’s the problem: The Roman Catholic Church, like Pelosi, doesn’t follow its own catechism because it will not excommunicate people like Pelosi and Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York.

Second, the seventh commandment: “You shall not commit adultery” (Ex. 20:14). The general commandment regarding adultery applies to the biblical definition of marriage. Same-sex marriage is a violation of the fifth commandment because it redefines the biblical definition of marriage as being between one man and one woman to include the marriage of people of the same sex. The same Bible that defines marriage also describes same-sex sexuality as being an abomination.

Third, the eighth commandment: “You shall not steal” (Ex. 20:15). Of course, she’s not the only politician who steals from millions of Americans. Pelosi repeatedly votes to tax people – take their hard-earned money from them – so she can give it to other people to buy their votes. And the most nefarious aspect of this theft is that she does it in the name of compassion and care for the poor. A person can’t be compassionate with other people’s money.

Pelosi’s real religion is government. She worships the State, and she wants you to worship it with her. Fascist Benito Mussolini captures the modern-day state worshipers: “Everything for the State; nothing outside the State; nothing against the State.”
