Is the Democratic Party preparing to crucify their messiah? Are the crowds calling for the release of Barabbas over Obama?
In 2008, Barack Obama was almost deified by liberals and socialists as they mobbed to his presence and voted him into office. Like so many first century Jews, they believed that Obama was going to deliver them from their poverty, misery and racial discrimination. He was going to give them jobs along with their free cell phones. Some of his loyal followers seemed to believe that Obama could walk on water and perform miracles.
However Obama has failed to deliver on most of his promises of deliverance and now the masses are flocking away from him instead of to him. On Sunday, Obama showed up at a political rally to support current Democratic Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown’s bid for governor of Maryland.
Obama took to the podium to spur the crowd to get out and vote, telling them:
“You’ve got to vote.”
“There are no excuses. The future is up to us. Go find your friends to vote. Get your cousin to vote. Get your uncle to vote.”
A heckler stood up with a pro-immigration sign which prompted Obama to respond:
“The problem is, I’m actually for immigration reform. Of course, he should be protesting the folks who are blocking it, but that’s OK.”
Then Obama tried to wow the crowd with his accomplishments saying:
“Maryland, we have made progress. Don’t let folks say otherwise.”
“Tonight we’re here because we know there is more work to do.”
“When you cast that vote you’ve got a choice to make, two very different visions for America.”
“I believe that Republicans are patriots, that they love their country, but they are a broken record.”
“Hope is a better choice and we’re selling hope.”
However, while the once shining messiah of the Democratic Party began speaking, many of the Democratic supporters began to stand up and leave. According to reports, it wasn’t just a few that walked out on Obama, but a whole crowd of people left. They obviously have had their fill of Obama, indicating that their messiah has fallen from grace.
Hopefully that same attitude of disgust and betrayal will carry over in a couple weeks as people go the polls to cast their votes, leaving Democrats like Anthony Brown looking for a different job.
