Texas Attorney General Tells Feds They’ll Have to Take Land by Force

In another attempt to steal land from American citizens, the Bureau of Land Management is considering taking 90,000 acres from Texas residents.

When Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory in 1803, it established the border between Texas and Louisiana to be the bans of the Red River.  Like many other rivers, periodically, the Red River will shift its course due to heavy rains and flooding.  As the river shifts, Texas and Louisiana dispute the location of their mutual border.

When the river shifts south, the Texas Farm Bureau recognizes that as the official state border.  When the river shifts back north, they insist that the border remain where it was.  The dispute over the land has been going on for nearly two hundred years.

To settle the dispute, the BLM is seriously considering confiscating the land for themselves and this has Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott ready to take up arms to protect Texas land.  Abbott commented about the issue, saying:

“I am about ready to go to the Red River and raise a ‘Come and Take It’ flag to tell the feds to stay out of Texas.”

He has written a letter to Neil Kornze, Director of the BLM (who is also involved in the scandalous attempt to steal land from Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy).  The letter reads in part:

“I am deeply concerned about the notion that the Bureau of Land Management believes the federal government has the authority to swoop in and take land that has been owned and cultivated by Texas landowners for generations,”

“The BLMs newly asserted claims to land along the Red River threaten to upset long-settled private property rights and undermine fundamental principles — including the rule of law — that form the foundation of our democracy. Yet, the BLM has failed to disclose either its full intentions or the legal justification for its proposed actions. Decisions of this magnitude must not be made inside a bureaucratic black box.”

In a recent interview, Abbott said:

“What Barack Obama’s BLM is doing is so out of bounds and so offensive that we should have quick and successful legal action if they dare attempt to tread on Texas land and take it from private property owners in this state.”

“This is the latest line of attack by the Obama administration, where it seems like they have a complete disregard for the rule of law in this country.  And now they’ve crossed the line quite literally by coming into the state of Texas and trying to claim Texas land as federal land. And, as the Attorney General of Texas, I am not going to allow this.”

Abbott is one of my favorite Attorney Generals in the nation because he stands up for his people, laws of Texas and the Constitution.  When New York Governor Andrew Cuomo began enacting some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, Abbott ran ads in New York inviting gun owners to move to Texas.  He also invited firearm companies to relocate from New York, Connecticut, Maryland and Colorado because Texas proudly upholds the Second Amendment.

He’s not afraid to stand up to the BLM or any other federal agency.  He already went after the funding for Planned Parenthood and won, cutting off all state funds from the abortion provider.

Abbott is running for governor of Texas to replace the retiring Rick Perry.  His Democratic opponent is Wendy Davis who has lied about her past, her experience with guns and more recently the gender wage gap.  If I lived in Texas, not only would I vote for Abbott, I would have signs up in my yard and I would be telling everyone I know to vote for the only candidate who cares more about the people than themselves.  In fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing him make a run for the White House in a few years down the road.

  1. Let’s get something straight: The federal government isn’t the problem. The political parties and the people running the federal government are the problem. Office holders and drones who violate the Constitution should be removed from their jobs. We need a quick, efficient way to do that.

    1. Well technically, yes. But we ask know the federal gov’t provides the perfect conditions for scum and corrupt politicians to grow. No gov’t can control itself, therefore it must almost be completely abolished. Why do you think the forefathers had to get rid of the articles of confederation? They were so against the gov’t they literally tired its arms and legs up. While we need a gov’t it’s important to understand it needs to unite the people not mercilessly tear them apart. Most of what our gov’t does is against popular opinion which should tell you enough. Less gov’t = more power in the hands of the people.

  2. It’s sure is heartening to see someone with the bajoobees to tell the Feds, ”NO!”
Would to God that we had more men of his caliber and conviction in Congress.

  3. Abbott sounds like an outstanding individual. I wish he was in my State representing me and my fellow State citizens. At the very least I wish my State had someone like him as Governor. Well good for you TX, hope he wins.

  4. My Uncle Aaron just got an awesome 12 month
old Audi A5 Convertible only from working part time off a home computer… find

      1. I take it you have no problem licking the boots that step on your neck? You’re going to be a very easy one to get onto the trains.

  5. Your idiocy and ignorance is appalling. Steal land from the thief Bundy? Are you really that ignorant? Even The racist Bundy recognizes the land is not HIS! He just doesn’t recognize court orders. His interpretation of the law is as nutty as he is. He’s willing to pay grazing fees to the county & state, but not to the fed’s. LEARN THE FACTS. He admits he’s a a “welfare queen.” Before you peddle your absurdity, learn the truth and the real facts.

    1. MRitter, sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and have people only think you are an idiot than to open it and remove all doubt.

  6. I think Dave Jolly needs a geography lesson. The Red River is the border between Texas and Oklahoma. The Sabine River provides part of the border with Louisiana. Other then getting the state to the East confused with the one to the North of Texas, I guess the rest is accurate. But it certainly puts a dent in his credibility.

  7. This article means Texas & Oklahoma – not Louisiana. The Red River does run through Louisiana but we don’t share a border with Texas on the Red River. Our portion of the Red comes through Arkansas. But I’m glad that Texas is not giving in to the Feds! Hope Oklahoma doesn’t either!

  8. The State of the Union were designed to be self governing. That is their borders are Their borders. The Federal government has no right to dictate what their respective territory is. The US government has over stepped it’s bounds again.
This snatche and land grab is bullshit, especially when it doesn’t effect the natural wildlife or impede on power and water rights. The BLM under some rookie (who has no clue) is stirring a pot of WOOP-ASS, that has been peaceful for hundreds of years. My question to the wet behind the ears BTM leader, WHO IS PUSHING YOUR BUTTONS AND FOR HOW MUCH?
Your job security is getting slimmer and slimmer each time you stir things up and step on someone’s toes.

    1. He is Harry Reid’s buddy and they caused the cattle roundup in Nevada that turned into an armed standdown. Never trust the motives of the feds in taking land — they have 83% of the land in Nevada and cannot manage that. Now they want to take land from Texas. Good for their AG — makes me want to move back.

  9. Why all of the sudden is the BLM, a name which is not normally used, popping up??? Is it a deflection from what is really going on. Like Hillary running for office in 2016; the president’s incompetent leading of this great nation, his failure as a political leader in European Union?
His loss of bladder control when it comes to the Russian President, the FACT that the city he lived in and worked, has the highest mortality rate than fifty randomly selected cities a cross the NATION? His total disregard/respect for the Presidential Seat except for how much money he can pocket and how many rounds of golf he can play or what exotic “working” vacation he can phantom up? The only time he publicly speaks is when his DEMOCRATIC PARTY can pick on some innocent people, who are not affiliated with either party. I have said from day one in my FI ACCOUNT, that we need to kick his scrawny assume to the curb. PERIOD!!!

  10. Rush is right!
We need to keep just one MRitter behind a glass cage so people will have a ex sample of a stupid minded, commie, Muslim to see rather than just read about in books.

  11. Since moral standards, customs, and traditions form the basis of our liberty and prosperity, their destruction undermines the civilized culture that has evolved upon them.

  12. The only explantion for the activity of the BLM is that they are seizing land in order for Obama to sign it over by exectuve order to the UN so that the underlying mineral resources become sources of cash for the UN and any of the UN’s multitude of socialst agenda’s.
Where are the Constitutional provisions to keep that from happening? Where are ar they? and now you know that is why the BLM is doing it. Because they can and they will unless they are blocked by each state..

  13. “The general legal principles concerning water boundaries and the ownership of accretion was settled at common law in England (8) before the United States gained its independence. The general rules concerning accretion are still
followed in the United States with some modifications to fit special circumstances. The general rule is that ownership of accreted land inures to the upland riparian or littoral owner while avulsive action does not work a boundary or an ownership change.”
“Ownership of the dry land area formed, or caused by reliction is determined on the same principles as those used in determining the ownership of accreted land. This general rule is followed in the United States by the Federal
Government (9) and the majority of the individual states (10). ”
    Basic Law of Water Boundaries
The Accretion/Avulsion Puzzle: Its Past Revealed,
    Its Future Proposed
(take note of The King v Lord Yarborough on page 330)
    Wilcox v. Jackson – 38 U.S. 498 (1839)

RELICTION: “gradual change of water line on real property which gives the owner more dry land”.

ACCRETION: “The act of adding portions of soil to the soil already in possession of the owner by gradual deposition through the operation of natural causes.”

  14. So goes the famous Texas saying: “Don’t mess with Texas.” My complete respect to you the Honorable Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott

  15. To not recognize the present, and future threat to liberty, posed by the absolute bureaucracy, is foolhardy. Obviously, as all human history proves, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The Several Sovereign States were Constitutionally charged with control of the US Senate. It was a true Upper House, and rightly so, as the Federal entity was created by the States.
The 17th amendment removed that protection against Federal overreach, and muted the voices of the States.
Previously, the 16th amendment removed a protection against out-of-control spending by the Federal Government, presenting Congress with an unlimited credit line which is abused daily.
We the people cannot childishly believe that any body politic will not take full advantage of these two atrocious crimes against liberty, foisted upon posterity (us!) by gullible previous generations. Only strong constitutional limits were deemed a proper protection. That is what is wrong with our federal government, and why it is the problem.

To shackle the federal government, repeal the 16th and 17th amendments. Nothing less will restore The Republic. Nothing more is required.
