As of September 20, 2011, homosexuals will be allowed to openly serve in the military. When President Obama signed the certification, he said:
“As commander in chief, I have always been confident that our dedicated men and women in uniform would transition to a new policy in an orderly manner that preserves unit cohesion, recruitment, retention and military effectiveness.”
The president is correct when he said there would be a transition to a new policy, however it is not going to preserve the cohesion or retention of military personnel.
To begin, a homosexual activist group called OutServe, is asking military recruiters to go above and beyond normal recruiting practices to target gays and lesbians for military service. Recruiters currently have programs to target blacks, Hispanics and females and Out Serve wants them to develop a similar program to target the homosexual population.
On the flip side, a number of career military personnel have been indicating that they will opt out of their military careers because of the repeal of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.’ Robert Knight, a senior fellow with American Civil Rights Union, said:
“This is huge. This could have generational impact. And it can’t stand. It will wreck our military. People of good conscience will have to leave the military and in fact many have already said they’re going to…. It was brought about with junk science, with a misrepresented survey that was leaked to the press for maximum effect — and that ought to be investigated. In fact, that’s one thing Republicans could do right now is to call for hearings into the misuse of that survey of U.S. personnel and see how the results were slanted.”
It should be no surprise to learn that the original study used to justify the repeal of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ didn’t yield the results that were reported. It appears that special homosexual interests pushed for falsification of the data in order to get their sinful agenda adopted by the White House and military.
If you want to preserve the integrity of our military, urge your Senators and Representatives to demand an investigation into the study used. Also urge them to force the military leadership and White House to reconsider the open service of homosexuals in the military.
