When Barack Obama first ran for the White House in 2008, he repeatedly promised to have a completely open and transparent administration. Virtually everything else that spewed from his lips, that was a premeditated lie that he had no intention of keeping. To be honest, Obama didn’t care about keeping any part of his word as he would say anything to get elected and then do whatever he wanted, regardless of legality.
Over the past six years, Obama has had his tiffs with the press. He’s cut them short, blocked them out, criticized them and then used the NSA to spy on them. His relationship with the White House Press Corps is only slightly warmer than the feuding Hatfields and McCoys. It’s not uncommon for White House officials to use harsh profanity when dealing members of the press.
Last year at a White House Correspondents’ Association seminar, reporters began expressing their concerns and grievances with Obama. One of the key complaints brought up was how Obama’s treatment of the reporters is clearly endangering the freedom of the press.
That feuding recently escalated when Obama turned away a group of reporters that were supposed to cover his visit with leaders of the Mormon Church last week in Salt Lake City. In response for the years of abuse and disrespect from Obama and his minions, the White House Correspondents’ Association is crafting a list of demands that they plan on delivering to Obama and his staff.
According to Christi Parsons, President of the Association:
“We’ve been working on that document for almost a year now and will have more to say about it when we release it later this spring.”
It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that something mysterious happens to Parsons and other members of the White House Press Corps or that they suddenly back down from their list of demands. The people behind Obama are extremely powerful and ruthless and seem to be unwilling to stop at anything to get their way as Bill Clinton will attest to when the life of his daughter Chelsea was threatened if he didn’t shut up about Obama’s birth and eligibility to be president. Incidentally, Bill Clinton, who back in early 2008 was the loudest birther in America, suddenly stopped saying anything about Obama’s eligibility after the reported threat had been made against his daughter.
