Many of us still mourn the loss of Andrew Breitbart who supposedly died of a heart attack on the very same day that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department Cold Case Posse held their press conference claiming to have evidence that president Obama’s birth certificate was a forgery. Breitbart was a firebrand conservative who wasn’t afraid of making waves in Washington DC’s political pool.
Fortunately, his organization continues on in his tradition. Breitbart.com editor Joel Pollak is stirring up more waves with the latest bombshell from the conservative group. They have obtained a 1991 literary catalog produced by New York publisher Acton and Dystel. The catalog was promoting a book entitled Journey in Black and White written by Obama.
The catalog, published by Acton and Systel was distributed to other publishers and business colleagues. It included brief biographies of 90 authors who were clients of the publisher. The biography for Barack Obama starts out with,
“Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
As it turns out, the book was never published under that name. Years later, Obama re-wrote the book and published it under the title of Dreams from My Father.
Acton and Dystel is now Dystel and Goderich. Breitbart News tried to contact Goderich about the 1991 catalog, but her calls were automatically screened and they heard back from her. Her assistant told Breitbart News that they don’t entertain any questions concerning Barack Obama. They were able to contact Acton who told them even though most of the authors did not write their own biographies, they were asked to proof it before it was published in the catalog.
Whether written by Obama or someone at Acton and Dystel, where did they get the idea of his Kenyan birth if not from him? If it wasn’t true, and Obama was asked to proof the biography, why didn’t he correct it?
Posted on the Breitbart website,
“Note from Senior Management:
Andrew Breitbart was never a “Birther,” and Breitbart News is a site that has never advocated the narrative of “Birtherism.” In fact, Andrew believed, as we do, that President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.”
But Pollak writes on Breitbart.com,
“The errant Obama biography in the Acton & Dystel booklet does not contradict the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate. Moreover, several contemporaneous accounts of Obama’s background describe Obama as having been born in Hawaii.”
“The biography does, however, fit a pattern in which Obama–or the people representing and supporting him–manipulate his public persona.”
“David Maraniss’s forthcoming biography of Obama has reportedly confirmed, for example, that a girlfriend Obama described in Dreams from My Father was, in fact, an amalgam of several separate individuals.”
“In addition, Obama and his handlers have a history of redefining his identity when expedient…”
“Obama has been known frequently to fictionalize aspects of his own life. During his 2008 campaign, for instance, Obama claimed that his dying mother had fought with insurance companies over coverage for her cancer treatments.”
“That turned out to be untrue, but Obama has repeated the story–which even the Washington Post called “misleading”–in a campaign video for the 2012 election.”
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio responded to the Breitbart posting by telling WND,
“We act on facts. We started the investigation back in August and utilized my Cold Case Posse to look into documents, the birth certificate and also the Selective Service forms. We seem to have much stonewalling going on.
“But I’m not going to back down. We are continuing to investigate what we feel are fraudulent government documents. We’re going to keep going, to prove once and for all whether they are genuine.”
[The unearthed publication] “does put more smoke out there.”
“We’ve gotten tons of information regarding this matter. This is just another little element.”
Sheriff Joe’s Cold Case Posse lead investigator Mike Zullo added,
“This does coincide with information we have been pursuing, in light of the recent disclosures about discrepancies in his book ‘Dreams From My Father.’ It does bolster the significance of Sheriff Arpaio’s investigation, and it brings into the light the fundamental question of where actually was Mr. Obama born.”
While Breitbart management may not hold to any of the birther claims, one has to admit that there seems to be too many different sources for it to be just coincidence. With the White House released birth certificate and the Selective Service card obtained by Stephen Coffman appearing to be forgeries, the 1991 literary catalog only adds more fuel to the fire of speculation and suspicion as to whether Barack Obama is a natural born citizen and eligible to be President of the United States.
