80s Pop Icon Boy George Mocks Preferred Pronouns Trend

The 1980s pop icon famous for his androgynous look just jumped to Twitter this week to ridicule the most recent PC trend of demanding fealty to people’s choice of personal pronouns.

Boy George tweeted to fans that they should “Leave your pronouns at the door!”

The “Karma Chameleon” singer tweeted a second time calling the trend “ridiculous.”

But, the singer/songwriter was not done. He also joked that people should refer to him as “Napoleon.”

“You must refer to me as ‘Napoleon’ and that’s as ridiculous as it gets!” he said, noting that he “used the ladies, toilet throughout the 80s!”

This week’s tweets are not the first time the singer, born George Alan O’Dowd, has taken issue with the whole “personal pronoun” scheme.

In August of 2018 George responded to a tweet demanding that people address tansgenders in their “correct pronoun.”

George insisted that trans people should aspire to “Be more than a pronoun!”

George also recently spoke up to defend fellow rocker Marc Almond — writer of the 80s hit “Tainted Love” — when extremist trans activists began accusing him of being “transphobic.”

“I don’t believe for a nano second that [Marc Almond] is transphobic! He ain’t tainted love!” George tweeted last year.

Almond replied saying, “I just said I didn’t like all the many labels because I believe in total equality. I think too many labels are confusing separatist, tribal and in my opinion not progressive but regressive. Just my valid opinion. Suddenly you’re Transphobic.”

“Of course, I’m not I’ve always had trans friends and been and championed in life and song since the early 80’s. I’ve enjoyed playing with gender long before it was fashionable. Twitter hysteria and drama. I’m sure you know that,” Almond added.
