What a perfect name of an advocate of pre-born baby killing (abortion) — Slaughter. CNS News reports:
“Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.) invoked the name of Susan B. Anthony, an icon in the pro-life movement, to support a sweeping pro-abortion proposal in the New York state legislature.”
Then there’s Nancy Pelosi who appeals to her Catholic faith in support for killing babies that have nearly reached full term and under other circumstances could live outside the womb. John McCormack of the Weekly Standard reporter asked Rep. Pelosi, “What’s the moral difference then between [a] 26 weeks elective abortion and the killing of that same infant born alive?” He was referring to the Kermit Gosnell abortion crimes. The best Pelosi could do to give an answer is to say that “as a practicing and respectful Catholic,” the practice of abortion is “sacred ground” to her.
Where is the Catholic Church leadership? She should be excommunicated.
Pelosi hides behind the fact that she has children and grandchildren. For many liberals (abortion advocate Margaret Sanger was one of them), abortion was a way to get rid of undesirables. Make access to abortion to the lower classes. Consider the “Negro Project” started by Margaret Sanger, the founding mother of the Birth Control League that has become today’s Planned Parenthood. Sanger was a racist of the lowest order.
She set up her clinics in the so-called “mongrel neighborhoods” where there was an influx of immigrants.
“Sanger’s first wild stab at opening a birth control clinic . . . strategically aimed at the impoverished and densely populated Brownsville section of Brooklyn. The ramshackle two-room back alley hovel was a far cry from her plush Greenwich Village haunts. But since the clientele she wished to attract, the ‘dysgenic immigrant Southern Europeans, Slavs, Latins, and Jews,’ could only be lured to her snare there ‘in the coarser neighborhoods and tenements,’ she was forced to venture out of her more familiar and comfortable confines.”1
But back to the other supporter of slaughter — Louise Slaughter. She said the following in support of Gov. Cuomo’s draconian abortion bill:
“Since the time of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, New York has been a national leader for women’s equality and fairness. Leaders on women’s rights at the federal level need good partners at the state level, and I’m proud of the package Governor Cuomo has outlined to improve women’s rights throughout our great state.”
Slaughter needs a history lesson. Anthony and Stanton were hardly supporters of abortion. The political group the Susan B. Anthony List “raises money for and endorses pro-life candidates.”
While there’s a dispute over Anthony’s abortion views, it’s impossible to make her a standard bearer of abortion on demand.
We know her views on women’s suffrage and the temperance movement, but it’s not at all evident that she would have supported today’s pro-abortion movement.
Louise Slaughter and Nancy Pelosi are the worst kinds of political butchers. Not only do they butcher history, but their legislative practices have consigned millions to the rubbish heap in the name of political expediency.
