Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Engages of Battle of Wits with Fact Checkers, Loses, then Absurdly Declares Victory

Left-wing loon Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez engaged in a battle of wits with some Washington Post fact checkers recently and was made to look like a fool. And yet, despite losing badly, she declared victory and mindlessly wandered off into the sunset.

If you have ever had a debate with a liberal, you will be familiar with the process. First the liberal makes an outrageously untrue, a-historical, or flat out factually incorrect statement. You tell them the truth and even back it up with a link or some facts. The liberal responds by moving the goal posts and adds with an absurd non sequitur. You correct that idiocy, too. Then the liberal calls you names and claims they won the debate despite getting everything wrong and engaging in name calling.

This is essentially the path that Ocasio-Cortez took with her Twitter feud with the fact checkers.

Ocasio-Cortez went toe-to-toe with the Washington Post “fact checker” Glenn Kessler who had decided to look at her statement in The Atlantic.

I think it’s wrong that a vast majority of the country doesn’t make a living wage, I think it’s wrong that you can work 100 hours and not feed your kids. I think it’s wrong that corporations like Walmart and Amazon can get paid by the government, essentially experience a wealth transfer from the public, for paying people less than a minimum wage.

Kessler wrote a January 24 piece dissecting the statement giving it three Pinocchios for its large number of factual inaccuracies.

Kessler slammed the newly minted Democrat congresswoman for playing “fast and loose with statistics.”

Ocasio-Cortez was quite unhappy with the fact check and so she jumped to Twitter to needle Kessler.

Me: “I don’t think billionaires should concentrate wealth while employing people who are sleeping in cars working a zillion hours to survive.”

Next day: “That will be TEN PINOCCHIOS to Ocasio, ‘zillion’ is not a number and I found someone who sleeps in a tent, not a car.”

That set off a two-day round robin of back and forth tweets between Kessler and the Congresswoman in which Ocasio-Cortez impugned Kessler’s statistics and the people who gathered them and with Kessler replying to correct her.

Despite being thoroughly debunked, Ocasio-Cortez kept name calling and then claimed she won the debate.

Typical liberal.
