If this video doesn’t bring a lump to your throat, well, I am not sure what will…
Last weekend, what happened in the Nashville airport was an amazing bit of patriotism and kindness, just the sort of thing that will warm the heart round Christmas time.
Hundreds of people were milling about the airport, as they usually do, when an airline attendant called out over the announcement system to let people at the gate know that a group of children of fallen service members were about to board their flight to Disney World.
At that point a group of singers began serenading the kids.
But the good feeling quickly grew far beyond the small group of singers tasked with singing to the kids as they entered the plane.
One witness took to Facebook to tell what she saw that morning.
“I witnessed an international airport come to a complete stop today,” Jen Tringale wrote on her Facebook page.
“At the Nashville airport I walked out into the concourse to this scene @americanairlines was flying a plane full of children who had lost a parent in combat to Disneyworld on an all expenses paid trip and they threw a party for them at the gate,” she continued.
“But when they announced them over the loud speaker and they lined up to board the plane the whole airport literally stopped and sang the national anthem with military present in salute. Most every person standing around, myself included was bawling at the sight of these kids and spouses who have paid so great a price for our country,” Tringale wrote.
“To see all of this at Christmas time was so humbling. Seeing the general public in an airport stand still to honor these kids was simply beautiful,” she concluded.
