America’s largest police union has turned its back on the Democrats by endorsing Donald Trump for president in 2020.
On Friday, the Fraternal Order of Police endorsed President Trump for re-election.
The endorsement came after the group polled their 355,000 members across the country.
In a statement released Friday, National President Patrick Yoes announced that the endorsement was unanimous.
“President Trump has shown time after time that he supports our law enforcement officers and understands the issues our members face every day,” Yoes said. “The FOP is proud to endorse a candidate who calls for law and order across our nation. He has the full and enthusiastic support of the FOP.”

Both Trump and Democrat nominee Joe Biden provided the union with a questionnaire on their positions.
This is not the first time the union supported Trump. The FOP supported Trump in 2016 mostly because Hillary Clinton refused to return the union’s questionnaire.
The union has not always endorsed Republicans. They also endorsed Bill Clinton. While they chose John McCain in 2008, they withheld their endorsement from both candidates when Romney ran against Obama in 2012.
Granted, Romney didn’t deserve anyone’s support and still doesn’t.
This is not the first police group to endorse Trump over Biden. In July, the National Association of Police Organizations came out in support of Trump, and last month, Florida’s largest police union chose Trump, too.
Notice that these groups all represent the rank-and-file, everyday police officer, and NOT the political appointees who run their departments!
