A black Georgia State Representative became national news last week when she claimed a “white man” told her to “go back to your country.” Now we know it was all a hoax.
Democrat State Rep. Erica Thomas said she was “verbally assaulted” by a white man at a Publix store and told to “go back where you came from.” She claimed that a man named Eric Sparkes didn’t like that she was in the ten items or less line but had more items than that and he spoke up about it.
Thomas jumped to her Facebook page and pretended a tearful expose about the attack she claimed to have suffered. The Facebook entry went viral, of course.

Thomas also Tweeted about the incident:
According to the Washington Post:
A white man has admitted cursing at a pregnant black Georgia lawmaker for taking too many items into a supermarket express lane but denies telling her, “go back where you came from.”
Eric Sparkes showed up during a WSB-TV interview with Rep. Erica Thomas of Austell on Saturday, outside the Atlanta-area store where the incident occurred, the station reported.
He denied making any racially charged comment, adding, “I am Cuban.”
Thomas confronted Sparkes in front of reporters and said he had “degraded and berated” her.
But now the guy this black woman was calling a raaaacist has spoken up and delivered his side of the story and it looks like it is easier to believe HIM than it is to believe the race-baiting Democrat official.
Why do I say that? Because it turns out that Eric Sparkes is not a white man, as Thomas said. He’s Cuban. And then there is the fact that he’s a Democrat, not a “Trump man” like the left accused him of being.
He said he just told her to go to another line with her more than ten items and that he never said anything about going back to any country.
Now she is backtracking and trying to soft-peddle her former accusations:
Well, @itsericathomas has committed the 2nd major hate crime hoax of 2019.
After claiming that she was told by a “racist” to “go back to where [she] came from,”
Now she’s saying that never happened ⬇️pic.twitter.com/Fr6xuh8n7B

So, now the leftist media has pushed three great “hate crime” hoaxes this year. First, that the Covington Catholic kids acted like raaaacists toward a Native American, the second one was the Jussie Smollett fake attack, and now this fake Erica Thomas case. The media made all of these hate crime hoaxes big national stories.
