Virulent anti-Trump comedienne Wanda Sykes was furious when a dozen members of her audience began booing and heckling her when she opened her show with a series of harsh anti-Trump jokes.
According to Fox News, at least 12 members of the audience was either kicked out of the venue, or they walked out during Sykes’ Thursday performance.
“Do some comedy!” one attendee shouted at Skyes, according to the outlet. Another reportedly yelled, “Too political!”
About a dozen attendees walked out and began to argue with one another and staff in the lobby. Attendees who stayed at the show say that it was enjoyable and that attendees should have expected jokes at the president’s expense.
“I paid for a comedy show, not for a political venue,” Christine Delancey of Old Bridge told the Asbury Park Press. “First of all, you don’t bash our president. I am not a Trump supporter, but he is my president, and I would never bash my president.”
The theater has refused to comment on the incident.
Bunch of people heckled @iamwandasykes at her Count Basie Theatre for doing a significant amount of material about our…current political climate.
Her response: “What do you expect? I’m a black lesbian.”

According to WFAA the jokes that sparked the backlash were:
Sykes began her set poking fun at Trump’s assertion that world leaders who laughed during his recent United Nations address were laughing with him, not at him. (If that was the case, “What was the joke he told?” Sykes quipped).
She also joked that, while other presidents seemed to have aged at a faster-than-typical rate while in office, the general public seemed to be aging more quickly during Trump’s administration. Trump hadn’t aged a bit, Sykes deadpanned.
A few minutes after the show began, some attendees began heckling the comedian.
“Do some comedy!” one attendee shouted.
Apparently, fans aregued with each other in the lobby, too:
